Dirk had been sipping the one cup of firewhiskey that Gwenog had brought early in the night for the last hour, not wanting to go to hard even as more and more people started to show up. He had a feeling it might get intense. Not that anyone had taken down a door (yet) to start Quodcup, but there were little groups forming around the flat with various games.

He’d passed a couple of people playing Never Have I Ever and promptly turned around, steering clear of that game because it always made him red in the face and embarrassed. 

He was waiting for Emmeline, but she hadn’t gotten here yet. He hoped she hadn’t changed her mind. He knew parties weren’t really her thing, but they had talked about it before, even if that had been before their kiss. Still, she’d RSVPed after the kiss, so that was something! His gaze kept going to the door each time it opened, but it had yet to be her. Now, however, it opened once more and he perked up as she quietly walked through, looking a bit nervous.

Dirk took a long drink from his cup for some liquid courage and made his way over to her with a big grin. “Hey!” he said as he approached. He could see Nicky not too far away and hoped she wasn’t gawking too hard. Hoped some of the others in the room had her distracted enough. Gathering all his bravery, he leaned down - just a bit, Emmeline wasn’t too much shorter than him - and kissed her on the cheek in greeting. “Glad you could make it! Want me to show you around?”
