BY THE WAY i have been converted. what are your otome isekai/villainess isekai recommendations pwetty pwease......

#i read a couple beginnings of some and i was like wait a god damn minute. this shit is FUN #i understand now. i understand now. like how ffabiniku opened my eyes to modern isekai genres #the random ones i read the openings of on webtoon and tapas opened my eyes to this specific style of modern isekai #i think i was still a little wary because im always wary of parodies of things i like that are typically made fun of without understanding #(like otome games or shoujo manga) EVEN THOUGH i was mostly aware that most werent much of parodies at all #i was so used to old like smackjeeves webcomic parodies completely lacking care in their satire so i was Scared about all these new ones #but i should have had faith since most of these comics arent even about otoge half the time #and the ones that are seem pretty good. i think i was still Nervous hjkfdlhjkfds BUT i didnt need to be #theyre just fun stories with an interesting common mechanic of weird reincarnation/dimension hopping/timetravel stuff #theyre fun and good. i understand now. i understand now #interestingly i think the name otome isekai is still fitting even if a lot of the stuff lumped under the name has nothing to do with otoge #(and even some of the ones that do have some things that arent really common ie: villainesses)#like a bunch ive seen around are actually about books or comics or tv shows or some of them are just in one universe #BUT otome isekai does kind of still work i think. one of the biggest things that separates these types of isekai vs another type is the fact #that theyre usually marketed towards women and girls. which is why shoujo is called shoujo and otoge are called otome games #so in a roundabout way the name otome fits i think. an accidental retconned meaning that works well #if that makes sense #anyway give me....suggestions #there are TEN MILLION otome isekai and villainess isekai manwha and manhua and manga and webnovels and everything #hard to sort through it all LOL #ive noticed i actually tend to like the ones about books a lot rather than about games #i dunno why #also noticed these comics are WONDERFUL if you want to look at a LOT of VERY SPARKLY and very BEAUTIFUL lavishly detailed outfits #dear GOD some of the dresses and accessories in some of the webtoons i read.....some of those glittery EARRINGS #awesome

one of the kids at work never listens or does what he's told and we have like the same problems with him every day so the other staff all kind of hate him at this point so they'll yell at him for doing extremely minor shit and today he said "how come you're the only staff member who cares about me" and it made me really fucking sad but it's not like I can tell the grown adults I work with what to do so I just have no idea how to help the situation

#when i try to talk about it to other staff they dont care bc he pisses them off so theyre not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt #so hell just be joking around or minding his own business playing with something and theyll like scream at him #in a way that they dont do with the other kids. its noticeable and it bothers me because obviously he acts out when that happens #so it begins a horrible cycle and now im basically the only one he'll talk to and i feel like im always trying to defend him to staff #and i just dont know what to do because literally any time im not right there to intervene this happens #and i understand why he gets angry and defensive when they yell at him for doing normal ass shit #and then like today one of the kids was making fun of him for being poor and smelling like cigarettes #and he told me his moms an alcoholic and that none of the other staff even talked to the kid about it so i gave him (the bully) a write up #i just really really feel for him because i can tell he wants to do good. i often end up letting him hang out with me all day #but today one of the other staff yelled at him for it and i had to be like i literally told him he could stay with me bc of this #im still can't usually get him to do what he needs to do but im the only one who will explain to him why we ask him to do stuff #i know a lot of its like body autonomy so i try to give him as much as i can but sometimes its impossible when we have 40 kids #ugh #today was bad

idk if this is beige flag or something but i dont read percabeth fics 😭 or like percy jackson fics in general? 😭

idk what it is but i feel like i just have such a specific understanding of percabeth and percy jackson characters in general that a lot of times doesn't map on exactly to the fandom versions and that's true for any media i consume but it like weirdly irritates me a lot more for pjo? i guess bc i care sm about it so it makes it a lot harder for me to search and sift through pjo fics to actually find ones that suit my tastes specifically and also any like slight changes bother me more?

or just when im reading the fic its really hard for me to feel like its coming from percy/annabeth because i think they feel like real people to me 😭 so its weird to see them in fanfiction because like. they exist in the world of the pjo books as People to me and so in fanfiction theyre just Characters that feel more like imitations of their Real Selves than fics usually feel like to me

and also rick has such a specific way of writing them both like its clear he really really understands them (bc theyre based on him and his wife awwww <3) and so even if the writing style is different i just feel disconnected from their pov in the fic. and on that note i feel like the books themselves read as fanfiction to me like MoA and HoH percabeth????????? godtier why would i literally read anything else. so usually when im craving that i read the books or i listen to seaweed brain podcast and talk aloud to myself about how i would have written things differently or added things or watch the show bc its also sort of fanfiction thats canon bc of how well it understands the characters in terms of their overall People selves instead of just a jumble of common tropes and attributes that sometimes fandom percabeth can feel like to me

i think its also because i tend to read fanfiction when i feel like there is something unfinished in the narrative or like when the source material didn't understand the characters as well as the fandom/me because i get really intrigued by hidden potential and also tragic storylines and fix-it fics and to me it's just a lot harder to see percabeth in an au??? or scenarios outside the book???? idk what it is because most of the media i enjoy is adjacent percabeth type relationships because i love the dynamic but when it comes to literal percabeth i just. can't deviate from the text unless it's seaweed brain pod or my imagination 💀

sorry that was a long rambling of me trying to pick apart my brain and figure out why i dont read percabeth fics LMAOO i do enjoy fics with other pjo relationships though, specifically non-canon ones like pipabeth or valgrace because they have a lot of potential rooted in the text and in the possibility of dynamics that make sense with the canon characters+backstories+traits but also go beyond the text bc they aren't actually part of the canon (so i can separate fandom leo from how i see canon leo if that makes sense)

Im soo happy i made the art of the height comparisons thing but oh my god some people are just So Wrong about the canon heights or are completely misunderstanding the SIMPLE point/joke/au/headcanon whatever- i was TRYING to make. i'm watching street dance of china for the first time (randomly chose s3 to watch). actually being able to watch them dance should be given but having seen only swf/smf for my judgment of dance shows, i need mnet to fire their editors..... smf is so hard to watch with how many random cuts they throw in of audience reactions and camera angles.....

oh sdc will SPOIL you for watching dance shows. they film and edit the dancing so well, it makes mnet's editors look like toddlers hitting a keyboard. s3 is definitely the best place to start bc that's when they upped the production and brought in big name idols to be captains, so even though it's not the first season, it is kind of the starting point for what sdc is now. i still periodically go back and watch some of the routines from s3 bc they're so good (the original huang xiao+qiao zhi routine!!! chunlin's tonight!! the water stage!!!) and also the captain combo is so fucking funny; you get incredible dancing and then you also get whatever comes out of jackson 'i dont understand chinese' wang's mouth. also the battles. the battles. there's a fucking insane seven to smoke that happens in one of the later episodes that goes on for over half an hour and it is one of the most intense television viewing experiences i've ever had.

#the battles on sdc are way more fun than they are on swf or smf bc theyre not maliciously competitive #and theyre edited really well with not a lot of reaction cuts so you can actually SEE what's happening #this is my pitch for everyone to watch sdc it's such a good show #jackson actually says 'i dont understand (the hanzi)' but the translation i watched just translated it as 'chinese'#which made me SCREAM with laughter #text #answers #i'm actually not even sure if there are eng subs anywhere of the first two seasons?#there might be now but there were not two years ago when i went looking for them #s4 is also crazy good. there's a ton of returning people and they do a talent show in the middle for some reason. it's cute as hell #OH you should also watch the hotpot episodes!! the captains do like a debrief mini episode over hotpot. i think it's called lets chat?#they basically just goof around and talk about whatever. yixing drinks from a mug the size of his head #theyre fun and they sometimes give you extra insight into the full episodes #i'm not sure if they're all eng subbed though. they might be easier to find for s3 now that its been a while #sdc #sdc3 #now you understand why i complained so much about mnet's editing skldjflsdkjf

Fun facts for those of you that follow my peachy chronicles (not that I update abt my life recently but lmao): But I went from being upset i wasn't being treated well/right by people to now putting down my foot and stating my needs/wants clearly without room to misunderstand me.

And I think that's super important progress! The problem is is that now I'm seeing p clearly how and where people treat me and it's not very fun! I'm v good at compromises and am super patient! And I'm realizing people take that hella for granted and it's like. Dude.

Im just happy I'm figuring it out! Being autistic and people being my special interest is,,,hard bc I know where ppl perceive me and how ppl can use that and it's just,,,

Gosh idk! I think it's great progress but strange.

#its very hard to imagine myself being wanted #people compliment me and my first thought is that theyre joking or playing around or just being nice/polite #i dont see how anybody finds me attractive #to him i wasnt worth it. i wasnt good enough at anything #he wouldnt hold my hand. refused to kiss me bc ‘your lips are too wet’#wouldnt let me take him on dates and when he did it was miserable the entire time #he was miserable. he made ME miserable.#would tell me to my face that my hrt wasnt working #would make fun of my interests #berate me for forgetting things even tho hes known from day one that i have memory problems #tried to shit talk me for said memory issues to my best friend #he’d turn up the radio in the car when i would start singing - not to jam but to cover up my voice #he would learn the songs that I really liked singing and would skip them immediately #he only ever jokingly complimented me #i don’t understand #what did i do to deserve that #why did you treat me like that?#and now thanks to you + previous issues I literally feel so unlovable #thats another reason im holding off on relationships rn #i feel like its not possible to love me #where the mint grows #i just want to be adored and appreciated and shown that im loved #i want to be something to someone and not have to worry when the other shoe is going to drop #tbd #honestly i hope that you miss the way i treated you #i hope you miss how good i was to you #ive had several other people tell me that i was damn near a perfect partner and that i threw my whole heart and soul into that relationship #i hope you regret it and that it lives with you for the rest of your life. i hope it eats you alive.#vents
