Capcom Museum Investigations Sketches
This is the 66th post in the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection Countdown: 15 days left until release!
Today's topic: concept art sketches from the Capcom Museum Ace Attorney Investigations Exhibit!
The Investigations exhibit on the Capcom Museum website has tons of amazing artworks, backgrounds, sketches, promotional material and even the old promotion video for Investigations! The exhibit itself might be closed by now (sadly) but you can still access all the art and stuff they posted including these sketches below. They're originally from the artbook but I had first seen them on the Capcom Museum website and they're lovely so I wanted to talk about them.
Tumblr media
This one shows a bunch of concept work done for the life-size figurine of Miles for the Investigations promotion booth back then. The highlighted parts are considered to be particularly important for Miles to look like Miles, that includes the line between his eyebrows and the lock of hair standing out at the back of his head. It's often exactly these kinds of details that make characters suddenly look wrong if they're missing even if you don't actively notice them when they're there. I also love the image of Miles with just his waistcoat on, we've never seen him like that before! (Definitely gonna use this for future fanfic endeavours.)
Tumblr media
The next two sketches are particular favourites of mine, they're from the Investigations main trio and I always love seeing them together! The first one shows them rushing to get somewhere (the scene of the crime, most likely). Miles is running in front, very focused and determined, followed by Gumshoe closely behind, with a more concerned look on his face. Kay looks like she's flying or jumping from somewhere above them, her arms stretched and her scarf flapping in the wind reminiscent of an action hero. It's a wonderfully dynamic image, even at the sketch stage, and I'd love to see a fully drawn and coloured version of this. It's amazing how all their personalities come through in such a simple action and how well their team dynamic comes across. Miles as the serious leader, Kay always rushing in headfirst as dramatically as possible and Gumshoe lacking a little behind but always there to support. So nice!
Tumblr media
The second one shows them sitting on something (probably a bench) and, again, I love how their personalities and dynamic is expressed in just the way they're sitting! Miles is in the middle with his hands folded on his crossed legs and facing slightly upwards with a very serious expression like he's thinking about something particularly difficult to figure out. Kay is on his left fully croaching on the bench instead of sitting like she could jump up at any time, ready for action. She doesn't look quite as serious but still contemplative propping up her chin with her arm and looking off to the side. Gumshoe has his legs parallel to each other, his feet on the ground and his back straight, the perfect picture of how to sit on a bench. He looks completely relaxed with his hands in his lap and a happy smile on his face. Such a nice contrast between the three! I'd love to have this one fully drawn and coloured too but it's great in the sketch stage as well.
Tumblr media
The last piece is a series of sketches done for the cute little comic that came with the Investigations 2 orchestra soundtrack (the final version with translation can be found here). Just from the sketches alone you can roughly tell what it's about, the intro is dramatic with Miles, Kay and Gumshoe all looking distressed, then the reveal that Kay and Gumshoe are wearing baseball gloves and hiding, to a final extremely rough sketch of Miles finding his broken King of Prosecutors' trophy with the culprit clearly being a baseball. Great little comic and the sketches already deliver so much! It's honestly amazing that Gumshoe would agree to playing catch in Miles' office considering he's the one who cleans and is so protective of it. Maybe he thought, in his naivety, that nothing would happen or that he could clean any mess they made before Miles returned... At least it was "only" the trophy that Miles isn't so attached to anyway but I can't imagine him being very happy about them playing ball games in his office 😅 Daily shenanigans of the Investigations crew!

Ideas for Unique Home Decor in Singapore with a Tropical Feel
Tropical living is one of the most popular themes when it comes to home decor ideas Singapore. While achieving this look might seem like simply throwing together some tropical-inspired décor and furniture, it’s not that easy in reality. You need more strategic planning to achieve a cohesive design. We list some ideas to inspire your tropical haven in this blog, but for a truly stunning result, consider consulting interior design experts.
Ready for some tips? Let’s get started.
But first: What is tropical style décor?
Tropical interior design is all about bringing the lushness of the tropics right into your home to evoke vacation vibes and feelings of relaxation. It embraces a vibrant colour palette, natural materials, lush plants, and bold patterns in moderation — all finished with furniture that reflects nature's touch.
Now that it’s clearer what tropical-style interiors mean, let’s explore some tropical home décor ideas in Singapore. Here are some things to keep in mind:
It’s all about balance
If you have ever seen a tropical garden, you know how much colour and foliage it has everywhere. Don’t be afraid to layer patterned textiles and greenery. Think big leafy prints on throw pillows, bold floral wallpaper on an accent wall, and different tropical plants all competing for attention, but harmoniously. The key to pulling off maximalism is to create layers of colour and texture.
Of course, the bold and big style is not for everyone. If you lean towards minimal décor, choose accent pieces to create a ‘tropical Scandinavian’ vibe. This lets you incorporate two trendy home décor ideas in Singapore without going overboard. To do this, leave the walls white and use leafy plants or matching prints to decorate your space.
Play with lighting
Do you have a room that gets plenty of natural light? It’s easy to turn that into a contemporary tropical haven with jungle plants that can benefit from the sunlight.
But fear not if your space lacks sunny windows! You can still bring a tropical feel to a room by adding a large round mirror to reflect light and make the space seem brighter.
Use shades of blue for a coastal jungle vibe
Green often comes to mind when creating a tropical interior design, but here’s a more modern idea: choose blue. It goes well with dark wood, neutral interiors, and plants. Plus, it brings a sophisticated and warm vibe to the space. This is one of the best home décor ideas in Singapore for creating a tropical-themed dining area.
Use vibrant and edgy wallpaper
This is one of the easiest tropical home interior design ideas in Singapore and is especially suitable for smaller spaces. Wall-to-wall wallpaper featuring themes like palm trees lets you bring the outdoors in without taking up floor space.
Try animal décor
Besides oversized drawings of palm leaves, you can also add artwork of animals to your home interiors. Why not incorporate images of some of Singapore’s fascinating fauna into your space? You can also display sculptures or figurines. A ceramic toucan perched on a bookshelf can add a touch of whimsy to your tropical theme.
These tropical home interior design ideas in Singapore add a playful, carefree, and fun character to your space. Need help? Renodots can help you bring these ideas to life. Visit their website to get recommendations and a free quote.

David Kruk's solo exhibition Nobody Here at Summit Artspace in Akron, asks questions about the state of culture (or lack of culture) we are currently experiencing. Is the difference between the Venus of Willendorf and a Funko Pop just time period and material? Using the Vaporwave aesthetic, a remix of past pop culture in itself, he explores consumerism and nostalgia. Walking around the empty spaces in his video game creation, one is left wondering- what comes next?
The artist’s statement about the work-
This exhibition will consider Mark Fisher’s concept of “lost futures” through the aesthetics of Vaporwave and Funko Pops. I am interested in how these anachronistic objects utilize nostalgia through the remixing of cultural references to engage with consumer capitalism. According to Fisher, this continual referencing of the past exemplifies contemporary society’s cultural stagnation and the erosion of collective imagination towards a radically transformative future.
The sculptures in the exhibition are intended to push these anachronisms a bit further; to undergo a life cycle of adaptation and re-contextualization. I enjoy thinking about the ways in which something like Vaporwave can function as a critique of consumer culture, questioning capitalism’s impulse to commodify everything in sight, including our identities and memories. Vaporwave was born from the internet, and its aesthetic continues to be quite popular within online communities. These communities may often be collectors of pop culture paraphernalia: such as Funko Pops, which I’ve become interested in for their cultural symbolic value. Collecting Funko Pops can provide a source of aesthetic stability for some, while simultaneously operating as totems for coping with the realities of adulthood.
Conceptually within this exhibition, I wonder about the ideological trajectory from ritualistic idol to mass-produced fandom figurine, how capitalism influences our engagement with nostalgia, how the concept of a collectible operates within the spheres of the household to the museum, and how an art object may change over time through being digested through the body of consumerism.
For the video below, available on the gallery’s website, Kruk discusses his work – from tracing images using an oven light as a child, to a growing interest in sculpture, to creating the interactive video game from the show.

This exhibition closes 3/16/24.

Modern Horror Art
Tumblr media
Horror art is a way to express your love of the genre and be near it all the time. These paintings, photographs and illustrations let you see how horror is interpreted by different artists. Some of them are digital paintings that look completely real, others are painted pictures full of color and detail. There are also zombie collections with many different artists who have created their own interpretations of what a zombie looks like from head to toe!

Digital paintings
Digital paintings are created using digital tools and the computer. Many artists use digital painting to create artwork for movies, games, and books. These works of art can also be used in the creation of websites.
Digital paintings can be created using a wide range of software such as Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter.
Painted monsters
Modern horror art is the perfect fusion of two of the most popular subjects in modern culture: monsters and art. Monsters can be scary, but they can also be funny at the same time. They are used to tell a story, comment on society, or even just serve as a reminder that we're all human no matter how different we may appear.
Zombie art
There's a reason zombies are so popular in horror art, and it's not just because they're scary. The world of the zombie is a perfect way to express society's fears about death, dying, and the unknown. Zombies represent everything that we don't understand or control—and they come to life when we think we've conquered them.
In many ways, zombies are dead humans who have been reborn—but not as people. Instead, they're living corpses infected with an unknown virus that leaves them unable to die or feel pain (and hungry for human flesh). They roam aimlessly through what used to be their home cities; searching for food and shelter from both other humans and from other creatures like themselves: the newly infected who haven't yet turned into mindless lumps of muscle tissue.
The idea of losing your identity after death can be frightening enough on its own; but add in all those extra layers of fear—the fear that you might become one yourself someday; the fear that there's something out there besides yourself which might take over your body when you die; or even just simply being afraid as hell about what happens after death itself—and suddenly zombies aren't just scary monsters anymore!
Tumblr media
Horror art collections
Horror art collections are a great way to get your favorite horror characters in one place, decorate your home and show off your love for horror.
Horror art collections come in all shapes and sizes. You can buy them as framed prints or even as posters that you can stick on walls at home or at work. You can also get them as stickers so they'll look good on any surface—whether its glass, metal or plastic. It's really up to you how much time you want to put into creating the perfect horror art collection!
Horror art is a way to express your love of the genre and be near it all the time.
Have you ever been able to express your love for something in a way that's nice and permanent? Maybe it was a tattoo, or maybe it was getting a dog named after the thing you love. But what if there's something that's much bigger than any of those things, a thing so big and engulfing that it could fill your whole life with meaning: horror art!
Horror art is your chance to be near the genre all the time, with images of monsters and ghosts surrounding you everywhere you go. And when people come over to visit (which they will), they'll see that same world inside your home—a world filled with ghouls and gore; terror on every wall.
You can surround yourself with horror art in many ways: prints on the walls, figurines on shelves, even storybooks turned into posters (hey there). Horror art is available in all sorts of formats, so go ahead and find one that suits how much space around your house can handle—and how spooky!
Conclusion
After reading this article, you should have a better understanding of what modern horror art is. It's a fun way to express yourself and be inspired by your favorite genre. If you're interested in getting some yourself, there are many places online where you can purchase prints or even original pieces from artists around the world!

I played every Ninjago Toggo game
Toggo is a german children‘s TV channel that airs the german dub of Ninjago. On its website, Toggo features select episodes from every season (except season 12, for reasons unknown), and many different browser based games. As such, it‘s the channel that introduced me to the series, and the one I blame for my many sufferings.
I played every Ninjago game on the Toggo website. Here‘s some reviews.
First, though, look at Akita.
Tumblr media
The “plots“ for these games, as like, random browser games, is obviously just whatever‘s going on in the season. “Fight your opponent in the tournament of elements“ “rescue nya from nadakhan“ “defeat the nindroids“ yadda yadda. Not riveting stuff, exactly, so I won‘t detail them.
1. Schlangenstämme (Snake Tribes) [Season 1]
Simple matching game. Take the snake images, match them to the correct tribe. This one is kind of a hack, because after 1k points new snakes just appear so fast you can‘t possibly progress.
The art is pretty cool though, even if it‘s probably reused.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Chens Labyrinth (Chen‘s Labyrinth) [Season 4]
Tumblr media
You navigate a labyrinth as either lloyd or kai to get to zane. it‘s.. suprisingly difficult? I needed a couple of attempts to get past the first level, with five total. Though which levels those five are seems randomized. There‘s spinning blades and guards to dodge, pits to avoid, and even pistons that will push you into pits.
Arrow key controls, and nothing else.
This one reuses soundbytes from the show, which is fun. Like the wilhelm scream when you get hit by a blade. Or a Cole soundbyte when you fall down a pit. You can‘t even play as Cole. Definetly the high light of the game, because I was in hysterics.
Wassup with this Kai design though. Cool hair. The character models in the game look like someone took a picture of actual lego figurines. Ten out of ten.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Im Land der Drachen (In the Land of Dragons) [Season 9]
Tumblr media
You play as the fire dragon, and you gotta burn down the dragon hunters, and free other dragons for upgrades. The description makes it seem like freeing dragons is your goal, but the high score is entirely dependant on how many enemies you defeat.
Control scheme is kinda wack at first, since the direction of your inputs depends are relative to your character, and the game starts you backwards, for no reason.
It‘s really hard to actually hit stuff with your fire breath. You can upgrade your dragon with the coins you collect from defeated enemies to do more damage and stuff, so if you really wanna go for a highscore, this game can keep you entertained for a bit. Suprisingly fun.
The music choice is really intense though to be playing constantly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Nindroiden-Niederschlag (Nindroid-Beatdown) [Season 3]
Push the arrow key in the direction enemies are coming from to slap em. Don‘t get slapped yourself. That‘s it. You have a timer that fills up whenever you pass a level, and decreases rapidly when you get it.
Once again in hysterics over sound effects because there ARE multiple attack sounds, but they‘re not mapped to one per Ninja, they‘re random. So maybe the same Jay soundbyte plays five times in a row. Or maybe you get three different ones when hitting the same direction three times.
Shoutout to some guy named Kane, who takes up 5 out of 10 top 10 player slots. You‘re truly dedicated.
Tumblr media
5. Wettkampf der Elemente (Contest of the Elements) [Season 4]
Tumblr media
Beautifully reused assets from Chen‘s Labyrinth. The floor falls behind you, so manouvre your enemy into falling into the abyss first. Kind of dull, kind of difficult. Took me. A feewww attempts to do. I eventually settled on the tactic of “try to make a separate arena from my opponent as fast as possible and then just wait it out till they fall down.“
You face off against Bolobo, Neuro, Karlof, and then Skylor as the final boss. It‘s neat.
Though I was of course an immediate expert at this, because there‘s a Minecraft mini-game just like this. With the falling floor and stuff. I want to play minecraft now, instead of all these, but I‘m in too deep now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Rettung aus Dschinnjago (Rescue from Djinjago) [Season 6]
Tumblr media
This one gets points for using the intro music for skybound cuz it‘s swanky. The loop is wayyy to short though.
THERE‘S 22 LEVELS???
props to this one for being the first that‘s like… pretty to look at? And for having 8 directional movement. Similar to Chen‘s Labyrinth, navigate the levels as Jay with the arrow keys and don‘t fall off ledges or get caught in traps n stuff.
Again I like the graphics on this one? It looks good. Full 3D environment. Def a step up from the previous games. But also goddd make the music loop longer if you have one song for TWENTY TWO LEVELS. Yes i did play all twenty two but i did not go for 3 stars in each because collecting all the coins would take forever. Let‘s call it speedrun strats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Levels get increasingly longer and more complex with all sorts of switches to press to advance, and some memorable sections like an honest to god chase sequence. So this actually took a while to beat, unlike the more „one and done“ games so far. It took like, 20 minutes to actually finish, even though I was ignoring coins
Jay‘s game over quote is “please not crap like this“ which is very polite for the fury with which it‘s shouted. Iconic.
I liked it, even though I turned off the swanky pirate whip after level 4 to listen to my edgy vocaloid instead.
Shoutout to Wu3000, who takes up slots 2-18 on the leaderboard. Man, you tried.
Tumblr media
7. Die Kunst des Spinjitzu (The Art of Spinjitzu) [Season 1]
ORGH THIS ONE HAS CUSTOM NARRATION. Like an actual narrator. Reading the small blurb of “once upon a time there was the first spinjitzu master and you have to fight his evil son.“ what.
It‘s kind of funny how it refuses to name garmadon though. He‘s just “the evil brother.“
You get three minigames to pick, which are apparently the three disciplines of the art of spinjitzu. Dexterity, team spirit, and… spinning. Fascinating.
Each discipline has a ninja narrating how it works which is hilarious, because they‘re not like, the actual VAs obviously, just some guy trying to sound young and hip.
First up, dexterity, draw a symbol with your mouse cuz that‘s how you sword good ig. According to off-brand cole, at least. Except the “symbol“ is just one vertical slash. Three times.
Tumblr media
With team spirit, you got the four guys tied together with rope, and you just kinda hold right, occasionally stopping to avoid obstacles. That‘s it. The voice acting on this is funny as shit though. I recommend checking it out solely for probably one guy trying to sound young. It‘s really funny.
Tumblr media
With the last one, spinning, you press the left and right arrow keys as fast as you can to, well, spin.
Tumblr media
After that, you play each one again, this time trying to beat “the evil brother‘s“ score to defeat him. It‘s not specified what said score is, but there is one. Supposedly.
All very one note minigames but worth the experience for that fantastic voice acting alone. I wish this post was a video. If I had a recording software i‘d stream this on youtube.
Tumblr media
8. Im Niemandsland (In the Never-Realm) [Season 11]
Tumblr media
This one is… an honest to god action rpg? Well, the „action“ is so clunky it may as well be turn based. You navigate either the forest or an ice cave to complete various fetch quests as Lloyd. You get exp from picking up collectibles and from defeating enemies. Your hp is so obscenely high you can eat attacks for breakfast. Or you get obliterated almost instantly. Depends.
Tumblr media
There‘s ice samurai and wolves as enemies. The wolves actually made me feel bad, because you can oneshot them with a charged attack, and then they do this really pathetic whimper. Then there‘s “ice giants“ which are rock monsters that make buzzing sounds. You can kite these with your charged attack, which is the most fun i‘ve had over the course of the entire game. This does not say much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you do chores for Sorla and Nya, you encounter Akita in her wolf form, at which point the game starts playing episode audio of Lloyd naming her Red. Fun fun. After that, Akita follows you around, which is honestly precious.
Sometimes, when you accept or complete missions, the game has a seizure and crashes. Incredible.
Akita, your dps sucks. And most chores are just „collect wood“ over and over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There‘s some vague semblance of a story, but not much. Collect wood for the fire! Oh wow, a white wolf! Oh no, Sorla‘s missing, go find her! Now Nya‘s missing, go find her!
Tumblr media
My game crashed (again) on the rescue Nya mission, and then when I started again, Nya was there n gave me another rescue Sorla quest. I think these are randomly generated, for the most part.
There‘s entirely too much filler. For every “story“ mission, there were two side missions to complete first. And a story mission only amounts to the same fetch quest with one more box of flavor text. I kept playing for like, fifty minutes, I bet, and at some point i was just too bored.
Two maps, four enemy types, you learn spinjitzu at lv5 and it‘s free iframes and p much instakill for everything with a ridiculously short cooldown, so combat is a joke. Enemies scale with you, so why a level system?
Tumblr media
The maps appear to be randomly generated, too, but following a pattern. You start at the bottom, make your way to a central area, and then have three paths to go down. These paths vary in length each time, and the longest typically features whichever objective you‘re after. This means there is  a lot of backtracking if you went down the wrong path. Hooray.
Boooooooring. Novel for like three minutes, but then it‘s just rinse and repeat. Maybe a „one and done“ type deal would‘ve been better.
I played until level seventeen. SEVENTEEN. Story wise, i got up to finding the land bounty, but after that…. Man i just can‘t. This game is so boring. At some point there started being three to four side missions between each main quest, and I was watching video essays on the side. I don‘t know for how long I played this, but it was over an hour. Not even the sunk cost fallacy could bring me to continue further.
Tumblr media
Don‘t play this one just enjoy the screenshots of low poly akita.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. Lloyd gegen Garmadons Motorrad-Gang (Lloyd versus Garmadon‘s Motorbike Gang) [Season 8]
Tumblr media
A breath of fresh air after the slog that‘s the last one. Here we got a simple racing game. Press left and right to dodge obstacles such as cars or gang members in an autoscroller highway race track. You win once you catch up to Ultra Violet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There‘s a couple power ups, such as speed boosts, shields, and a 5 second time reduction for a higher score. Nothing special, three difficulties, and i def zoned out playing.
Tumblr media
10. Das Große Rennen (The Big Race) [Season 12]
Tumblr media
A season 12 game when the website pretends that prime empire doesn‘t exist? Fun fun.
Here we have a racing game with… actual multiplayer? It has local multiplayer, and random matching. Did I play against actual people??? Did I obliterate some poor kids in the janky lego browser racing game??
Tumblr media
The controls are, as expected, janky as hell. You can‘t turn properly and thus keep bumping into walls. Power ups (your typical shell and banana substitutes) are supposedly used by pressing the space bar, but they just kept getting used automatically.
You can unlock different cars based on all the vehicles featured in the season. I think this only changes the appearance and nothing else.
Is this what kids do now that spieleaffe is an endless pit of ads? I miss the good days of spieleaffe….
Tumblr media
11. Chens Rückkehr (Chen‘s Return) [Season 4]
Tumblr media
This is one of those “press left and right to dodge shit“ games like the bike gang one, except. It‘s zoomed so far in I can‘t actually see the obstacles?? What‘s happening here???
Tumblr media
12. Morro greift an (Morro attacks) [Season 5]
It didn‘t load, what can I say. From the small preview video, it appears to be a balancing game though. Morro is attacking the bounty, press left and right so the Ninja don‘t fall off. Y‘kno, identical controls to half the games here.
13. Turnier der Tapferen [Tournament of the Brave] [Season 7/8]
Tumblr media
Okay this one is a hot mess and it‘s actually super fun. You move with the arrow keys and use your weapon with the mouse (excellent design, I know). You play in an arena with five other (real, human) players and try to hit each other. Whoever gets most points wins. There‘s traps all over the arena, too.
I got dead last because this was my first time playing, but I did have fun. It‘s havoc. I was suprised to actually have a full party fill up so fast? Gg to the acronix player.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah, this game has a full on character select! This is, in the end, just skins, cuz everyone starts with shurikens anyway. You pick up different weapons around the arena, such as swords, or that weird mace that lets you throw potions.
Tumblr media
This one slaps actually. I saw one player with my sister‘s name which jumpscared me a lil. What are you doing here. Only my sibling is allowed to have that name.
Again, first one I had a blast playing. Rounds are 80 seconds, so you gotta play super aggressively if you want points. If you see someone play Acronix, Harumi, Ultra Violet, or Machia, you know they‘re good, cuz those characters are unlocked with points.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One time I even came in second!!
Tumblr media
14. Kartenduell (Card duel) [Season 1]
Tumblr media
This game uses the season 1 subtitle Year of the Snakes, yet has After the Blackout by The Fold, a Season 3 song, as the title theme. WHICH I DO NOT MIND BECAUSE AFTER THE BLACKOUT SLAPS. Okay. Glad we got this over with.
It‘s a rather simple card game. You put four cards from your collection in your deck, each with four attributes. One game is four rounds, where one attribute per round is compared between the card you and your opponent play. The higher attribute wins.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which attribute gets compared is randomized at the start of a round, but in actuality, it‘s only the order. You always do all four in one game.
Whichever rounds you win gets you your opponent‘s cards. When you lose a round, you lose the card. Except not really. I dunno. Not all that special, except for the music. It‘s tolerable.
15. Rückkehr der Oni (Return of the Oni) [Season 10]
Tumblr media
Another suprisinlgy fun one!
It‘s got “cutscenes“, as in, powerpoint style pans over show shots with corresponding audio, which were very silly. Just recapping the season 10 finale, of “oh no the oni are here. Fight them.“
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gameplay is in a circular arena. Oni enter from all sides, and you gotta fight them off. Controls are click for short attack, hold for charged kick. That‘s it. You can only move by attacking. Each attack propels you forward. Charged kicks send you flying. You get wreckt if you get surrounded so movement tech was actually pretty fun? Figuring out how to best manouvre yourself around with attacks n stuff.
There‘s a stamina system to attacks (stamina refills automatically and when you defeat enemies) but I barely noticed it. Additionally, you get a spinjitzu button that also charges when you defeat enemies, but more slowly. It makes you invincible for a bit, instakills all enemies you get in contact with, and lets you move consistently. P busted.
You have 6 lives in form of the Ninja. They all play the same, and when one gets defeated, the next one jumps in till you run out.
Since there‘s actual high score hunters for games like these, I bet they invented some insane niche techs. Congrats to them.
Once all your ninja are down, you get another powerpoint cutscene of them defeating the oni with the tornado of creation, and that‘s it.
P good time actually.
Tumblr media
16.  Sumpf-Arena (Swamp-Arena) [Season 7]
Tumblr media
Last but not least, we have a PVE game in the style of tournament of the brave. You play as Kai and fight your way through endless waves of snakes in one of two arenas for a highscore.  Control with arrow keys, attack with space bar, yadda yadda.
Tumblr media
You can collect time blades as upgrades, but they‘re pretty confusing to use tbh? Just kinda like. Teleports and that‘s it. But weirder. You use them with the control key.
Tumblr media
Multiple enemy types from itty bitty snakes to fire spitting machia copies to big axe wielders who kill you in two hits. It‘s decent.
Tumblr media
And thus, I conclude my review of every single toggo ninjago game, excluding the one that didn‘t load. As browser games, they‘re all super simple. Some of them were still fun though, even if only for the three minutes they took to beat.
My favorites are definetly Tournament of the Brave, for a fun little PVP experience, and Escape from Djinjago, for having multiple gimmicks that made its stages non-repetitive and made me use my brain to some capacity.
My least favorite is In the Never-Realm, for being the longest and most boring game. Endless slog of repetitive sidequests.
The games for later seasons were definetly more impressive visually, and typically more expansive. This does not automatically make them good, though. Some older ones like Chen‘s Labyrinth were also fun.
And there you have it! Thank you toggo for setting me on the path to write this with the like, 2013 probably? Marathon rerun of the first two seasons. Also curse you. Also, why the hell doesn‘t season 12 exist on the website?

sarah i have thought of another fic request or like a cute idea i guess! i didn’t have anyone in mind when i thought of it so you can write it for whoever you want honestly :)
okay so the reader is a streamer but streams games like animal crossing, standew valley, etc. then (insert who you’re writing for) says they don’t like that game, but later ends up buying it and the reader is like “i thought you said you didn’t like this game” and they’re like “well i like you” and they confuses their feelings and they end up playing the game together and reader gives them a tour of their island or farm
i feel like this request isn’t good, but the scenario seemed cute and i wanted to share it. sorry if this is confusing or just too specific cuz i know it can be hard to write requests like that! but yeah i hope it gives you inspiration and you like the request <3
new horizons
warnings: language, a Marvel reference (hint: natasha said it about tony), stupid idiots who don’t realize they like each other, use of pet names, Uno rage, Hasan Piker's presence
words: 1473
tags: sapnap x gn!reader
A/N: i’ve been trying to catch up a little on my requests (i’ve only got a couple so i’m not super overwhelmed) but school and outside life has been taking up most of my time so this one took me a while to make! tbh— ive never played animal crossing so i did google some of the game mechanics and i apologize if anything is inaccurate about the game…. but i liked relaxing and writing this cute one so thank you for requesting hails :3

“This game is trash.”
Your head quirks, fingers stopped on the screen. You’re in the process of giving your character a cute new nickname; it’s kind of hard to decide between “awkward dude” and “elderly skater”.
“Excuse me?” Your chat comes alive with emotes and ‘KEKW’s, obviously entertained by you and your almost-more-than-friends-friend.
There’s a story for that later.
Sapnap’s rough laugh comes through your headset and he audibly swallows, the sound of a water bottle dropping onto his desk echoing.
“I’m just saying—it’s boring. It’s like Minecraft but you don’t like… do anything.” The grainy image of his bearded face shifts and you see him pull out his phone.
“It’s— you can’t even compare it to Minecraft! It’s a completely different game system—you actually interact with other people live in the game.” You huff out a dramatic sigh, slumping in your chair with a pout. “Just because you go into this lucid state where all you know is ‘touch block, hit George’ doesn’t mean this game isn’t fun.” (He scoffs at your awful impression of his voice. Your viewers love it.)
“Jeez,” he mumbles, fumbling with the cap of his water bottle. “Touched a nerve there, bud.”
You roll your eyes, getting back to the village in the game.
“Don't ‘bud’ me.”
The call falls comfortably quiet, the sounds of him tapping obsessively on his phone and you clicking away filling the silence. A gentle bedroom-pop YouTube playlist remains in the background, prompting you to hum along and glance at the chat to see a flood of “check twitter” and “Y/N TWITTER!!”.
“What happened on Twitter?” You mumble, confused, and pull the website up on another monitor. Sapnap just makes a curious noise, swinging back and forth in a circle. “Oh my God,” you say to yourself, fingertips brushing your parted lips.
“What?”
“Hasan Piker just followed me and retweeted one of my not even remotely political old tweets. Like from a year ago.”
“That’s— wow. Congrats?” Sapnap’s voice cracks, and his ears flush pink the tiniest bit when you glance at his face on Discord.
“I’m gonna go on record and say that he could get it.” You shake your head in disbelief.
Sapnap falls uncharacteristically non-hyper-verbal, so you look past the frenzied chat and to his screen— wait. He muted and turned his camera off.
“Um,” you start, furiously typing question marks in your private chat. “Where’d you go?” You mute and turn screen share off for your stream, concerned that he might’ve fallen off his chair and broken his neck and needs you to call the ambulance.
The characteristic ding of a twitter notification sounds through your bedroom, and you look at your phone quickly.
“That’s where I went.”
Sapnap Tweeted: “all Y/U stans can choke on my dick”.
“Jesus, Sapnap,” you say, and rapidly refresh to read the replies. This tweet was deleted. “That’s so— that barely makes sense, bro. Why— literally what?”
His snicker floods your ears and you relax in your chair. Crisis: averted. “Don’t fucking— what’s wrong with you?”
“I thought it would be funny,” he offers, shrugging, and fiddles with the straw in his water bottle, smile fading. “And also Hasan pisses me off.”
“Why, ‘cause he wants a piece of this? Jealous?” You think back to your viewers, knowing they’re probably spamming question marks and coming to ludacris conclusions about both of your absences. No offense to them. You remember your stan days very vividly.
“I mean, kinda.” He rubs once at his nose, glancing at the camera (and what feels like you) before taking a sip from his water bottle.
“Wow.” You watch one strand of his hair fall from beneath his hat and brush against his full eyebrows. “I’m uh—I’ll get back to my stream. You coming? Or is it time for a Sapnap-snack?”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” He snorts and leans his chin onto the balance of his arm.
“That means you like to take a little snack break mid-stream and come back approximately nine hours later and you didn’t even eat.”
“You know what— fuck you.” He flicks the camera as you laugh at the look on his face.
The teasing mood is easily kept as you switch games from Animal Crossing to Uno, all the while slamming Sapnap with +4’s and skipping the newly-arrived BadBoyHalo at any chance you can get. It unironically pisses him off and he has to take a Sapnap-snack break midway through (only a fifteen minute break this time, during which you and Bad take a “What Kind of Bread Are You?” quiz). The rest of the night is filled with devious cackles (you), loud and sudden bangs that sound suspiciously like someone hitting their desk in anger (Sap) and the stupid barking of Rat, AKA Lucy (Bad). She’s cute but a menace to the sound quality of Bad’s microphone. You sign off stream around 2 a.m. with various forms of thanks and kisses blown to the camera. It’s been a refreshing night, actually; you’ve been busy organizing a partnership stream all week and all your friends have been busy filming or editing or what-not. Quackity had time for a little Roblox every couple of days, though. He’s got your back.
The next time you see Sapnap is after a two hour stream of him try-harding in Valorant and you finishing responding to an email from your partnership in the VC.
“Okay, I’m back.” You hear him shift in his chair and click a couple more times on his keyboard. You perk up in your chair, closing the email browser you’d been looking at.
“Do you want to play anything else? I’m down for anything.”
“Absolutely not Uno. You can go to hell for giving me 6 cards that one time,” he jabs. You scoff, crossing your arms and leaning back in your chair.
“Okay, the +4 was on me but it’s Bad who gave you the last two. That’s not my fault, sweetie.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he mumbles, trailing off as the clicking of his keyboard stops. “Hey, um—Guess what?”
Your heart beats loud in your ears at the tone of his voice. He sounds nervous; that’s never good.
“I’m scared to guess,” you try, playing with a little Minecraft dog figurine you have on your desk with fidgety fingers. “What?”
“I bought Animal Crossing.”
Silence. You stare at his discord icon blankly, trying to reroute the wires of your brain.
“Tell me you love it.”
“Well… I haven’t actually played it— but you said you liked it, so.”
“So,” you repeat him, ears warming but continuing on. “Is that what you tell all your friends when you buy something they like? That it's because of them?”
He seems to choose his next words carefully, pausing a beat to consider your questions.
“Well, I don’t have a crush on all of my friends.”
“You—what?” You stutter, caught off guard and stumbling. What did he just say? “Don’t tell me you mean you have a crush on me.”
“I’m almost positive I just did.” His discord icon stares right back at you, taunting.
“You know, you’re very casual for someone who just admitted they like-like me.” Your cheeks flush pink and you have to press a hand to your chest to keep your breathing sounding stable.
“Yeah, I’m kind of cool like that,” he offers, a huff of a laugh punctuating his statement. The conversation moves into a lull that you can’t help but know is because of you. He must expect you to say something about it, right?
“You are very cool, Sapnap.” You tilt back in your chair, sucking in a breath to prepare yourself for your next words. “And—Isortakindofhaveacrushonyoutoo.”
He must understand you, for you can hear the grin in his voice when he asks “Really?”
“Y-yeah.” You feel like a preteen again, all shaky and giddy in front of the boy you just asked to a middle school dance.
“Um, alright. What do we do now?”
“I don’t know,” you answer genuinely and swing in a happy little circle in your chair. “We could play Animal Crossing.”
“I’m down.”
You swear you’ve never heard more beautiful words.
He keeps his camera off for most of the time you two play, too focused on creating his island and asking you questions about how to fish to turn it on. He silently flips it on when you help him decorate his lawn, needing to show you in real-time the decorations he has bought and where you think he should put them. He looks cute. I mean, of course he does. He always does.
You tell him goodbye late in the night, eyes saying a little more than just “see you tomorrow”.
You like him. He likes you.
It’s even better when you two have matching gardens.

When person A is trying to be mad at person B, so person B tickles person A juuuust enough to make not smiling hard, while teasing them until they eventually crack a smile
Saw this on one of your posts and loved it....so...and uh....villain as person A and hero as person B? And could the hero and villain be lovers? Though it...would be cute.
So sorry for such a long wait! I really don't want to be known for this topic so I'm trying to space them out xD anyway, hope you enjoy!
Original prompt came from this list.
Tumblr media
"Hey, I'm going to make some pasta for supper, is that alright?"
"Yup. Don't break the stove while you're at it," the villain in the bed monotoned, not taking their eyes off the tv as they flipped through the channels.
The hero blinked, before fully stepping into the bedroom as they tilted their head with a lopsided smile, "you're not still mad about earlier are you?"
"Nope," the villain replied sarcastically.
There was an exasperated sigh, "I already said I was sorry! I didn't mean to break your little figurine of me, it was an accident!"
"Mhm,"
"I don't know why you even need one when we live together, it's not like you don't see me enough," they tried to joke, but the villain didn't even bother to reply.
"Come onnnn," the hero groaned, "It was only a cheap little trinket anyway-"
They were cut off by the villain full-on glaring at that comment.
"Wait- no! That's not what I-" The hero sputtered, before catching themselves and taking a breath, "I can just get you another one, okay? There's like hundreds in the hero academy's gift store. Regardless, I can assure you the real deal is way better anyway,"
The villain just rolled their eyes as they glanced back at the screen and flicked to a different channel carelessly.
The hero narrowed their eyes. Something was... off. They knew the villain like the back of their hand, and the other didn't typically get like this.
Usually, if they were upset about something, the villain had no problem being blunt and upfront about what was wrong, and they were rarely petty after whatever dispute had been settled between them.
Which meant, something hadn't been settled yet. The hero was clearly still missing a piece of the puzzle.
"I cleaned it up already, you know, there's no mess," the hero tried.
The villain just hummed in agreement. Nope, it wasn't the mess.
They thought back to the incident, remembering being taken aback at how genuinely upset the villain looked.
"What was so special about it?"
Immediately, the hero saw the villain stiffen slightly, catching the ever so slight red that appeared on their cheeks.
Bingo.
"Nothing," the villain dismissed, "You said yourself it was only a cheap trinket,"
"Uh-huh," the hero drawled, slowly stepping closer, "to which you responded by glaring at me, meaning you clearly disagreed,"
"No, I was-... just saying it-... wasn't helping your case," they argued, "Anyway, weren't you about to go make supper?"
"An obvious lie followed by trying to distract me? Wow, apparently that thing was *very* special,"
Wait, when had the hero gotten that close‽
Before the villain could react the hero grabbed their ankles, pulling them downward on the bed so they fell backwards before jumping up and straddling their waist.
"And apparently," the hero continued, smirking mischievously as they loomed over the other, "you *really* don't want me to find out why,"
The villain paled slightly, looking up like a mouse that had been cornered by a cat before steeling their features and crossing their arms over their chest.
Alright. If that's how they were going to be, challenge accepted.
"Maybe I should talk to the hero academy about making a little figurine of you," the hero commented, while their index fingers began drawing slow circles along the villain's sides.
"Nobody would buy one," the villain grumbled under their breath as they tensed but tried not to make it obvious.
"I dunno about that," the hero replied, fingers creeping higher, causing the villain to twitch whenever the hero brushed over a particularly sensitive spot. "I could imagine kids playing with them like dolls. Maybe they would act out me finally catching you," they teased.
That... was admittedly a pretty funny mental image. But they weren't going to be giving in that easily.
Suddenly the hero's fingers fluttered along their sides, and the villain had to bite their lip to keep from smiling. They couldn't help the way they squirmed slightly, unable to sit completely still any longer.
"Are you gonna tell me yet?" the hero questioned playfully, yet tauntingly, lightening up on their soft tickling momentarily.
The only response they got was in the form of a sharp glare.
The hero shrugged, smirking, "suit yourself," they replied in a tone that was infuriatingly confident the villain would break eventually, and that they were perfectly content to wait. Some perfect balance between mischievous and innocent.
Immediately the villain could feel the sneaky fingers returning to dancing lightly along their sides, and they had to bite their lip to keep from smiling.
The hero above them laughed at this, "Gods you're adorable,"
Okay now that was just plain evil, the villain thought. The hero knew they were still terrible at taking compliments, especially direct ones, and even more so from the hero.
They also knew "adorable" was one of their worst ones. They could take being called smart, clever, even charming, but they'd never get used to being described as sweet, cute, kind, or most of all; adorable.
Unfair. It was completely unfair.
The hero only laughed again as the other lit up bright red beneath them.
They hadn't even done that intentionally, the hero just couldn't help the comment when the villain truly did look the part right now. However, if they were going down the path of flustering the other....
"I love you," the hero suddenly stated out of nowhere, voice and expression sickeningly earnest and genuine. Their eyes were shining as they tilted their head slightly.
Unfair. It was unfair. How could the hero just say things like that so easily?
They only got redder.
The slow circles were *just enough* to make not smiling difficult already. But it was so hard not to smile when the villain heard those words aloud. They were words the villain never thought they'd get to hear! Even hearing them normally caught them off guard!
Still, the villain stayed quiet.
"Last chance," the hero drawled warningly, "Don't make me do something you'll regret,"
They waited a moment, but still got no response. The hero gave an exasperated sigh, "Have it your way. What do you call a tailor that specializes in superhero costumes?"
The villain glanced up in confusion.
"Very *cape-*able,"
The punchline was accompanied by the fingers on their sides speeding up, and the villain broke, hands darting down to stop the hero's fingers as a smile broke out on their face.
"You're an idiot," the villain chuckled lightly, shaking their head.
The hero laughed, genuinely, before leaning down to kiss the villain beneath them, "I'm * your* idiot though,"
The villain hummed mid-kiss in agreement.
"So, what was so special about the figurine?" The hero asked when they broke. Their partner blushed, having momentarily forgotten the consequence of giving in.
The villain sighed, glancing away, "It was the first thing you ever gave me..." they explained quietly, "even if it was only meant as a joke at the time. It was the first thing *anyone* had given me in years, and it happened to be from you..."
There was an unbearable beat of silence, which forced the criminal to risk a glance up. Their lover was looking down at them with the most charmed smile they'd ever seen, which only caused them to blush more.
"I had no idea," they replied, "I promise I'll get you another one, okay?"
"It's alright, don't bother," the villain replied, causing shock to flash on the hero's face. The villain smirked, "You were right anyway" they explained, reaching up to grab the fabric of the hero's collar, "The real deal is so much better,"
With that, they yanked the hero back down again.

Texas Chainsaw spin off: All American Massacre
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974 was one of the first few slashers to come out, along side the film Black Christmas in the same year and possibly Psycho in the 60's. The film deals with a group of teens/young adults who take a trip over to Texas to make sure that the grave of Sally and her brother Franklin's grandfather didn't get robbed only for the group to catch the interest of the cannibal family the Sawyers.
The original film did well enough to gain a sequel in 1986 called Texas Chainsaw Massacre Two, in which we get introduced to another member of the Sawyer family known as Chop Top, the twin brother of the Hitchhiker in the first film.
The actor of Chop Top, Bill Moseley gained his role after he did a cameo in a short film he made based off of Texas Chainsaw Massacre called Texas Chainsaw Manicure. And the character managed to gain popularity spawning fanart, shirts, tattoos, and figurines all based around the character. So that being said, a spin-off staring Chop-Top was in order.
Tobe Hooper's son, William Hooper was set up for the role of director while Bill Moseley was going to be reprising his original role for the film; someone going by the name of Buckethead was also set to make an appearance for the film.
Tumblr media
In 1998 filming began on the project and finished sometime in 2000; the plot was supposed to be that a tabloid news crew comes to the psychiatric hospital that Chop Top got confined to, there the group interview him and we get a look into his past crimes as well as seeing his future crimes.
This film actually got finished and a trailer got made and posted online which in linking below. Also, if you check out the channel, you'll also see cast interviews.
Minor warning for flashing images
A couple years passed, not much came of it until a Kickstarter was launched by with the purpose of funding the post-production aspect of the movie. But with 18 backers and a total amount of $1,256 the project supposedly tried to go by with updates on the official Facebook account. On September 14th, 2014 we got the final update before everything on the project went dark.
Tumblr media
So far the films Facebook page is gone, the Twitter's blank, and the website, while it does give us some set photos and a small portion of the cast, the hyperlinks/sections at the top don't work, but if you wanna see for yourself here's the link.
Using the Wayback machine, I believe it's safe to say that the version you're getting right now, is the best possible result of this site we might get. This has more information than the original site which is a black screen with Chop Top on it with the movies title and tagline with a clickable 'entrance' button.
Tumblr media
I tried to find out about the film's Facebook, but nobody managed to have captured that. I ran the twitter link through and while it's something, it doesn't give us a clue as to what happened to the project, but I cannot explain everything, so here's the link to the results of the Wayback Machine:
The TL;DR of this situation is: the film got filmed, shelved, had a fundraiser that failed, and now we got dead end links and stuff that goes nowhere. So I feel safe to say...

A bunch of SAI livestream observations
I literally just copied and pasted the notes I took so I'm sorry if they make no sense.
Chronological notes:
-livestream starts by showing a birds-eye view of Dema and playing Good Day
-Tyler looks really depressed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-bishops (Sally/Sacarver and Dan/Lisden) introduce TOP as “the popular band, Twenty One Pilots” - trying to portray them as popular and likable to get more people to listen
-Sacarver says the dragon (Trash) is “kinda dark” - implies that Trash is good
-Tyler’s hair is “number 16 cotton candy” - further shows how Dema controls/catalogs everything
-“there’s not twenty one pilots, there’s only two guys!” - maybe it doesn’t mean anything but that phrase is *the* phrase that will piss off almost any clikkie
-bishops ask where Josh is and if he’s hiding, Sacarver says “come here, you little moron” - Josh isn’t with Dema because they don’t know where he is, plus they wouldn’t call him a moron if he was on their side
-Sacarver wants Tyler to play Stressed Out because she’s always stressed (due to working with Lisden) and because “it’s my favorite” - Stressed Out is the song that made TOP popular, she may be stressed due to working with Lisden because she’s the one that seems to want to escape Dema more, while he seems to buy into the message/concept of Dema more
-Tyler tunes out bishops and then starts singing Choker
-Bishops grab Tyler after Choker and force him onto another set, where Stressed Out plays.  Bishops stay onstage during Stressed Out - again, Stressed Out made TOP popular, which is what the bishops want
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(okay i know the bishops are bad but that last image would make a badass computer wallpaper)
-Stressed Out fades into Migraine
-“thank God it’s Friday/because Fridays will always be better than Sundays” - probably doesn’t mean anything, but the livestream was on a Friday
-Josh counted for Tyler on “depressssssing”, but not verbally like in the studio version
-Migraine background has the psi symbol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Migraine transitions into Morph, with a video of a crowd from the Trench era (Tyler interacts with the ‘crowd’ with a call and answer)
-Tyler doesn’t say “Josh Dun” in Morph
-Morph turns into Holding on to You (“entertain my faith” part) with a rain/lightning effect
-right before “lean with it rock with it”, there’s static and it cuts to the bishops who advertise SAI on the second set (blue/pink/yellow rainbow)
-“they just don’t play hits like this on the radio these days” - “this song will never be played on the radio” from Fairly Local
-after, a ‘commercial’ plays
-the first commercial has the black slipcase on the right and the blue slipcase on the left.  In the back, from left to right: cassette, three cd’s stacked on top of each other (white on top, pink in the middle, blue on the bottom), blue box (limited edition box set sold on their website), lyric booklet
Tumblr media
-“Dema is bringing you this music collection that is vibrant with saturation” - the Twitter banner was slowly desaturated while in the process of announcing the album, ads for SAI said “feel the saturation!”
-Shy Away, Choker, and Mulberry Street are mentioned during the first ad - two out of three singles released before the album dropped and the most propaganda-like song
-After commercial, Tyler plays Mulberry Street - Lisden said it was his favorite (likely b/c it’s propaganda)
-Mulberry Street starts inside but Tyler goes outside to a street (Mulberry St.) with extras that are ‘frozen’ in place
-Mulberry Street was the whole song (or almost the whole song), while most songs played were only a small segment - again, it’s Dema’s propaganda, so they want it to go on longer than older songs
-after Mulberry Street, the intro to Lane Boy plays (“why do I kneel to these concepts?  Tempted by control, controlled by temptation.  Stay low, they say, stay low”)
-Lane Boy has people with gas masks in the background
Tumblr media
-“Don’t trust a perfect person and don’t trust a song that’s flawless” is repeated several times - later, Sacarver calls the album “perfect”
-Lane Boy transitions into Redecorate
-Chlorine plays next, background has barrels like in music video
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-“Running for my…” (Tyler himself doesn’t say the word “life”)
-After Chlorine, Shy Away plays with obviously fake snow/mountainous background.  Chandeliers are hanging and a fancy dining table is set
-Bishop commercial after Shy Away (“break the cycle in half”) plays, bishops have nosebleeds
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Sacarver says “nothing is missing from this collection”, yet SAI has 11 tracks while past albums have 14
-cd’s in front are swapped (black on left and blue on right), and the three cd’s are in a different order (pink on top, blue in the middle, white on the bottom)
Tumblr media
-“But remember, you should-” *static* - bishops are likely being controlled by someone else, as it’s unlikely that the Banditos would have the power to cut them off
-Cuts to Mulberry St. set but darker (dusk/nighttime)
-The Outside plays next with Josh wearing skeleton hoodie - The Outside was mentioned in the commercial
-when water is poured on the street after The Outside, it forms a footprint
Tumblr media
-Tyler sits in a boat named “Oh” with a lamp and an artificial night sky
-Plays Heathens with a ukulele (no frog croaks)
-transitions into Trees, which is normally the last song
-during Trees, the stars start to blur together (it looks like a timelapse of the North Star)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Josh in Bandito clothing with a torch is shown (torch looks slightly different than in music vids), then it cuts to Jumpsuit
Tumblr media
-Jumpsuit background is a valley like in the music video but it looks greener and more manufactured
Tumblr media
-After, Heavydirtysoul plays with a flaming car on set (kinda like in the mv)
-Tyler looks upwards during “can you save my heavydirtysoul?”, looks like he’s pleading (sorry the last pic is so blurry(face))
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-background is a road similar to the one in the music video
Tumblr media
-Josh keeps crossing his drumsticks during HDS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Commercial break with hosts (bloody and Sacarver has overexaggerated makeup, plus they have yellow eyes)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-“Now that you’ve heard some of this collection, you must be just like us”
-”Sometimes I close my eyes to try to escape, I just can’t believe how unbelievably perfect this collection is!”  “You know you can’t escape, Sally.”  “Yes, I know.”
-”We’ve come for you”, “We got people on the way, no chances” - “We come for you, no chances”, “We got people on the way” (lyrics from No Chances (which they didn’t play))
-Commercial zooms out to show that it’s on a TV with Tyler, Josh, and others watching - we don’t believe what’s on TV
Tumblr media
-Saturday plays, during Jenna dialogue, Jenna has a pink streak in her hair and her top is half-blue, half-white
-Jenna has a yellow phone (Trench) while Tyler has a red one (Dema)
Tumblr media
-stutter/pause between “might get” and “loud” happened twice, not just once
-after, they dance onto another set and play Level of Concern
-LOC background looked kind of like Josh’s in the music video (glow in the dark stars against a dark background)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-“In a world where this is as good as it gets, and we miss you, we really do”
-Fades into Ride, background is pink scales and what looks like sideways palm trees?
Tumblr media
-Car Radio plays, Josh and Tyler are wearing black masks instead of white ones
Tumblr media
-pause after “I liked it better when my car had sound”
-right after Car Radio, an alarm sounds and red lights flash, people run around in the background as Tyler walks onto Mulberry St. set
-Never Take It plays, Tyler comes up close to the camera (almost like in LOC music vid)
-Heavydirtysoul car is on fire to the right of the set
Tumblr media
-Trash figurine is on the ground, it looks larger than usual
-Tyler walks back to first set and sits between bishops, who are frozen, and sings “I know it’s over/I was born a choker/nobody’s coming for me” from Choker
-fades out and cuts to bird’s-eye view of the set with crew members clapping and cheering, although even that feels subdued and fake
-shows Josh and Tyler with bishops in background, then credits roll
Various observations:
-Josh’s drumsticks are yellow - furthers concept that he’s against Dema
Tumblr media
-SAI songs were generally played longer than older songs
-Bishops call it a “collection”, not an “album”
-Guitarists/trumpet player have one of Tyler’s tattoos on shirt
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Tyler has a pink ring and a blue ring on his left ring and index fingers, respectively (Shy Away music vid)
Tumblr media
-various easter eggs on Mulberry St. set (sorry for the quality/size of the pictures)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(says “Rosie’s lounge)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-The door numbers on the Mulberry St. set coincide with the dmaorg.info error message numbers (at the bottom of the message)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Josh’s bandito mask looks different (has a design on it that looks like a lion?) (unless I’m dumb and it was always like that)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-FPE: the Few the Proud the Emotional (Blurryface), Failed Perimeter Escape (Trench), now Food Petrol Etc (SAI)
-Tyler looks less energetic when singing SAI songs (because it’s Dema propaganda)
-after the show, instrumental versions of The Hype, We Don’t Believe What’s on TV, and Doubt were played.  WDBWOTV is obvious, The Hype has the lyric “just don’t believe the hype”, and Doubt has the lyric “gnawing on the bishops”
-in the Q&A, they said Josh would backflip off the piano, but he didn’t.  They also didn’t do the deathdrop (thing where Tyler just kinda falls backwards)
-Stream was exactly one hour long (started at 8 PM EST, ended at 9 PM EST)
-The livestream ad doesn’t have a crossed O in the only of “one night only”

I don’t think NFT’s could have become nearly as much of a thing without intellectual property and especially copyright being so entrenched as concepts.
There are two things you can really sell re:art that have commercial value (assume for the rest of this post when I say “value” I mean “an amount you could sell the item for” because mixing in things like “inherent value” will make this post even more obnoxiously long)
1. the physical art object, the painted canvas, has value in the way any other object which is pleasing to its owner does. humans like pretty things, if you have something to exchange, someone who is skilled at making them will sacrifice some of their time to make one for you to keep and put where you like! If another person likes it, they might purchase it from you.
2. the rights to make reproductions of the art object, or copyright. So, the right to broadcast a film, the right to display images on your website, the right to perform a play for an audience, the right to make a mold of a sculpture and produce a bajillion little plastic copies of it, etc. Some of the things produced (prints, figurines) may be objects, but the majority of their monetary value usually comes from the fact that the original creator (or whoever they’ve sold the rights to) has a monopoly on producing those items, enforced by the state, such that they don’t have to compete directly with distributors who could otherwise produce nearly-identical products at extremely low cost and undercut them.
It seems like a lot of NFT buyers believe they are buying one of these things, without fully connecting that they aren’t really getting the benefit of either.
if you buy a painted canvas titled Raccoon in Funny Hat, the state will back you up if someone takes it out of your home and you say “hey, that’s mine, you have to give it back!” and if you buy the rights, the state will back you up if someone starts selling print copies of Raccoon in Funny Hat and you say “hey, I’m the only one allowed make prints of Raccoon in Funny Hat for sale, I am going to sue your asshole inside out!”*
If you buy an NFT there’s emphasis on being unique/original, which leans on old property intuitions around buying original art, of having a specific object that is yours, but you... dont... get an object... so people must be justifying it with something else. IP law gives us the idea that you can own things that aren’t specific objects, that even if there are a gajillion .png’s of Raccoon in Funny Hat around twitter and the original of Racoon in Funny Hat is in someone else’s house you are still Raccoon in Funny Hat King Shit and could ruin a bunch of losers’ days if you really wished.
A lot of people think that “property” is much more real than it is, that things have an obvious inherent value that is then reflected in the price of the thing, and so if someone comes up with a thing you can sell that it automatically has some value. But you’ll notice that a very important part of being Raccoon in Funny Hat King Shit is the ability to call upon a wizard (lawyer) direct evil energies (the concentrated attention of the state) at trespassers in your domain. NFT’s don’t actually buy you that, but for people who believe the value of property is a fundamental reality rather than a series of agreements, copyright law brings legitimacy juuuuuust close enough that you can catch some bounce light and pretend long enough to make a buck.
*yes “the state will back you up” is a statement with a billion caveats but work with me here

I don't know if they thought curly hair was too complicated to animate or something, but for some reason, ALL the clones in TCW have straight hair. It comes off as a simple stylistic choice with the standard crew cut, but then you have characters like Tup and Hunter. And since Trace Martez exists, we know they CAN texture curly hair now, and it doesn't look like it was all that complicated either. I guess in the case of Tup and Hunter we have to chalk it up to mutation in-universe.
Tumblr media
Alright. Here’s an image of Trace and Rafa Martez.
I’m gonna say this kindly as a curly haired individual: I would not say Trace has textured curly hair in the show. She has a textured hairstyle meant to represent curls.
Rafa has some waves in her hair that do end in a little curl, and while in real life I would say she probably has one of the “B” classifications for curly hair and appears to have a stronger curl pattern than Temuera Morrison. That said, the animation is still fairly blocky and only represents her having curls.
Tumblr media
This gif even shows it: Trace’s hair just... doesn’t move. It’s completely fixed. At least Rafa’s has a bit of sway and bounce at the bottom ringlet.
My honest opinion? The actual animation program itself is not designed to handle curls. What we see with both Martez ladies is that the CG part of their hair is very blocky, but the “texture” comes more from the hand-painted look.
This is something Filoni pushed from the start: CG animation was the new thing in 2005 and George Lucas wanted to use it for the show, but Filoni was a hand-drawing artist. He worked on Avatar the Last Airbender, for example. The way he could keep that feel with Clone Wars was to paint each “panel.” Thus, you had a merging of the two. Here’s a segment of a direct quote from Filoni, taken from this article.
“I wanted it to look like a painting— you see a textured, hand painted style on every character. I have texture artists who literally paint every character right down to their eyeball, because I wanted that human touch on everything.” -Dave Filoni
I actually looked into what program they used (at least for the earlier seasons). In 2008, it was produced by a company called Autodesk, and here is the announcement of them using the software. In the announcement, it mentions that one of Autodesk’s first (and main) developments is AutoCAD, and that their programs are meant to simulate real-world developments. Yeah... AutoCAD is an engineering/architechtural program. It’s very formulated and rigid because so are the materials it needs to simulate.
Tumblr media
Here’s an example of a plant designed using a more recent version of AutoCAD (from the Autodesk website). Even with basic colors, it’s clear to see how its older versions would be best for a show full of armored troopers, ships, destroyers, walkers... pretty much every part of Star Wars except for the people, tbh.
The program, and thus any later ones developed off of it, was not equipped to program curly hair. It’s not in their coding.
The other problem is Lucasfilm was outsourcing the animating for most scenes to a team in Asia (as per the linked announcement). That’s not cheap. When you introduce a character like Tup, who is a smaller supporting character, it’s far easier to just use the already developed clone CG model and have his hair tied back so it lays flat. It’s logistically not worth figuring out curls for him.
Hell, look even at Anakin or Obi-Wan’s hair in the first seasons (just search gifs on tumblr tbh). It moves together in chunks, if at all. The last season does have more improvement, but by then 1) it’s ten years later, so animation programs have evolved significantly, and 2) they’re at Disney.
I may hate on Disney for a lot of things, but Disney and Pixar have pioneered so much for digital animation, including hair actually (i.e. Tangled & The Incredibles). And... it’s Disney. They’ve got some of the best technology out there, even if it’s just for a TV show.
But, back to the clones. Take a look at any of the Sideshow collectible figures available for the clone troopers from the show. Even the short haired troopers have wavy definition to their hair, and for Tup it’s pretty clear he has a curl texture, just that it’s been tightly combed back into a bun.
Tumblr media
To help, here’s a trio of images: the left is Temuera Morrison around when he was in Star Wars. The top right is the Showtime collectible of ARC Trooper Fives. The bottom right is Fives in the show. It’s clear they attempted Temuera’s curl texture on the figurine. If you look closely at Fives’ hair from the show still, it still attempts to show that but flat painted on the CG hair panel.
Tumblr media
And here’s the clearest image I could find of Tup’s hair. Again, they tried to show his texture with the flat hand-painting.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They tried. Kind of. It just doesn’t translate well.
So, to sum it all up: the clones don’t have pin-straight hair. The animation makes it look that way because it is limited in its coding. But for the more realistic versions of the troopers, they’re shown to have some hair texture.
I don’t think they were being purposefully ignorant or racist by keeping the clones’ hair straighter. The style of animation chosen really was just not equipped to handle any type of curly hair pattern.
[For those of you wondering why they chose it though, one of the main reasons for the style was because they wanted motion capture for battle scenes. And y’know... after seeing the Ahsoka vs Maul fight in the final season... yeah, valid decision on that end.]
That said, something that was within the animation team’s control that we should be angry about is how they lightened/whitewashed the clones and Boba Fett in the series.
But that’s some tea for another time... ☕️🦅

5 Ways to Support Small Businesses & Local Artisans
Small businesses have been one of the most important and sustaining fabrics of our society, giving the much-needed community feeling. Over the years, it is the local artisans who keep making traditional and modern products accessible to us which comes with several risks of their own. However, the small scale of such enterprises wins over the bigger ones qualitatively along with a familial personalized experience like no other. The onus, thus, falls on our shoulders to keep this sector thriving with full vigour.
Here's What You Can Do
Supporting a small business is not about making huge investments or going all out with promotions. Supporting small businesses is about taking simple steps:
Promote them on social media
Social media is where everyone is. Small businesses benefit largely from social media promotions. You can share their posts with your friends and family to create awareness, leave positive comments to create trust, repost their images and follow their pages as frequently as possible. You can even get them in touch with influencers, if possible, to help them with a better reach. This basic support can be given on the go! This means you do not have to go out of your way, all it takes is a few clicks.
Give Them Reviews
We live in a world that runs on five stars. Those five stars play a key role in laying the foundation of trust for these businesses. If you have recently purchased products from a small scale enterprise, go to their website or Google pages and write a few good words about their product and services. That's all it takes to help them grow!
Recommend them to People
When someone asks you about that antique Dhokra pen-stand on your study table or the divine idol of Lord Ganesh in your living room, you have the perfect chance to not only promote the small business of Dhokra handicrafts but also recommend them. Encourage them to try out the store on their own and help small businesses open doors to more people! Another way of helping out here, if you don't want to recommend directly, is through a gift or a gift card which takes us to the next point.
 Purchase Gift Cards
A gift card is the most subtle way to bring a small business under the spotlight. Once you give a gift card, you are showing a gratuitous gesture while pointing your loved ones in the direction of your favourite small business. With the gift card, they can check out the store on their own and at the same time purchase something of their choice!
Preference over Bigger businesses
Buying from well-known brands and retail stores is something that we urban folks resonate with, a lot! However, purchasing from a local store gives way to uniqueness and exclusivity. After all, why buy what everyone else is buying?
Pro Tip - With the wedding season currently on, you can try to ditch the diamonds and gold this time and opt for delicately handcrafted Dhokra jewellery from www.dhokrahandicrafts.com. Check out the blogs sections to discover ways of styling them.
Know About our Small Business
A portal selling dhokra handicrafts (www.dhokrahandicrafts.com) is our simple attempt at keeping our art and tradition alive. While many small businesses popping up today cater to more modern products and services, we chose to stick to an art form that has been existing for the last four thousand years. Dhokra handcrafted products involve the lost-wax technique of creating figurines and utility products using scrap metal. A modest chunk of India's tribal population has been working on this art as their sole source of income as it is a skill passed down to them from generations.
To bring art, craft, and convenience to people's doorstep, we started out with an online store offering the most diverse collection of dhokra products, which are 100% handmade. From innovative accessories, utility products, fashionable jewellery to gifting options, it is a one-stop-shop for everything fashionable & stylish. Visit the online store today at www.dhokrahandicrafts.com for a unique shopping experience!
