Thinking about how to animate in this style

I feel like Gravity Falls written just about exactly the same but animated in the style of Junji Ito instead of its actual cartoon style would be straight up horror and do a much better job of showcasing what a horrific monster Bill is and tbh I want it so badly

As we come up on Thanksgiving, here's a feast for the eyes: a bunch of food from the first episode of City of Ghosts I designed while freelancing as a prop designer! 🦃🤤🍤 Food is one of my favourite things to design when I can - I always feel so invested in making it look delicious, ha ha! Also, if you somehow still haven't watched City of Ghosts on Netflix, now's as good a time as ever - I promise it's a great holiday watch for the whole family! 🥰

I sent this to @brightlotusmoon a long time ago (aka October of 2022) but I figured I might as well copy-paste/paraphrase it here
You guys ever notice how when the turtles are animated differently we get a different tone to them each time? Like 87 was originally just advertising and it was all for laughs until they were drawn differently in the Red Sky seasons and it got a bit more serious? Or how 03 was animated and it was closer to the Mirage turtles storyline of events? And 2012 catered to the more monstrous characters? Meanwhile Rise was bouncy, lively, entertaining and just all around amazing to watch/rewatch.
I’m just saying this because I’m wondering how the Turtles would’ve look in something like Studio Ghibli animating something so mundane like getting out of bed, ready for the day, making breakfast and having a seat on the patio, look like something so fantastical, just moments like that we don’t get to see often with the entire Turtle fam that isn’t entirely fan made.
Or someone like Don Bluth animates them and we get some form of soft familial moment at the beginning and it turns dark with angst, adventure, nightmare fuel with scenes being too dark to go on screen so they have to cut it out, and of course there’s a musical thrown in because it’s Don Bluth and you know it’s gonna be an ear worm you can’t hate. (I still hear “you can’t keep a good dog down” from All Dogs Go to Heaven to this day)
I started thinking of this because of an AnimChallenge happening back in September of 2022 and the theme was TMNT. So Kevin Maier joined in and the Splinter he animated just happens to look like one of those rats you’d see in The Secret of NIMH or Basil of Baker Street.

Hey, Art Tumblr! Could you help me out?
My peek animation aesthetic has always been what I can best describe as "early 20th century stop-motion paper animation".
The style used for the sets in the iconic 1902 movie A Trip to the Moon.

The style used in the Good Omens openings.

The style used in Of Monsters and Men music videos.

Even the style used in a Red Hot Chili Peppers music video.

Any clue what this style of animation is called? Is this actually a bunch of different styles that all have a similar aesthetic? I'd love to learn more, but my Google Fu is atrocious and I just cannot figure out how to even begin to figure out what this style is called.
Any help is much appreciated!

Hi hi everyone <3
Am still alive, and still working a lot, which is the main reason why I am kinda MIA and not uploading as many artworks as I wish (tbh, I am not even working on as many artworks as I want, but hopefully I will have some free time soon enough and will be able to be more productive. fingers crossed for that).
Well, anyway. I have been spending what little free time I had at hand watching some old movies and cartoons that have shaped me as an artist (two in particular that I *absolutely* adore), and today during lunch time I really felt an itch that I needed to scratch.
I have wanted to try to draw in this style for many years now, but never truly had the confidence in my skills to be able to do so. I remember spending so much time combing through my artbooks from those movies just to be able to try and understand how the character designers managed to put on paper their creations. How to give them fluidity and movement and personality.
But today I wanted to try. I wanted to give it a shot.
And I adored it.
Lunch break never went faster, but the moment I was back home, I HAD to finish this.
And of course, I went with my favourite brainchild, Dorothea, in my MonstersMash!AU setting.
ngl, It was challenging for me to just focus on simplicity rather than hyper details and kinda realism, trying to figure out where to put the lineart and where instead let the colours do the job, but dear gods, I had fun. so much fun, I cannot even start to say.
I hope you will like this <3

For the record, here's these visualization on the characters.
The Defenders of the Earth characters are a bit more mature, especially the young Defenders Rick, Jedda, and LJ. Kshin is 12 to 13 years. Picture the art that's already done for the young Defenders.
April, Sheila (who comes in a little later), Cathleen, Amy, Tori, and Rachel all appear as they have appeared in DoE continuity.
The Batman characters are Bruce Timm style, mainly Batman: the Animated Series. Not only is BTAS my childhood, but some of the characters such as Batman himself, Poison Ivy, the Joker, and the Penguin I picture their BTAS looks when thinking about the Batman characters.
Dick Grayson is a tricky one. He's Nightwing in this continuity, and yet, there hasn't been any artwork of Nightwing in BTAS style, just Bruce Timm in general. I've been working on edits of Dick Grayson in Batman TAS Era and "Photoshopped" some pictures using Paint as I don't have the programs to make better art or dont have spare money for commissions. I wish though, lol.
The others in the continuity Tim Drake (who is a teen in this continuity), Cassandra Cain, Jason Todd, and Stephanie Brown are also tricky. Either they'll have the DCAU looks I found through fan art, or they'll have their Batman Wayne Family Adventures looks.
Now very few like Harley Quinn and Two Face pretty much stayed the same, so.
