Kitty jesus, he believes in starclan which is the kitty version of heaven/god and yea. All the warrior cats characters except those outside the clans or those that are atheist believe in the kitty heaven and would irl be bri-ish and christian as hell so. The authors are all older british christian women and so the way starclan is written is like undoubtedly that.

The main religion in the series is extremely catholic coded. Most clan cats believe in Starclan and the Dark Forest(or heaven and hell). There is a set of rule they must uphold and follow, where following them leads to heaven and breaking them leads to hell. Their religious leaders are sworn to celibacy, and the punishments that "code breakers"(or cats who break the rules) face are extremely similar to situations people with religious trauma have gone through.

hai tumblr i think tomorrow i will work on. art. or web stuff..... im on a lil bit of a kick of web stuff rn so i think i might do a lil planning for the terralith (story) site !! its gonna be a . big undertaking since im gonna work on coding + art for it from scratch. but! it'll be worth it i think! it'll be fun to have something to point to and be like "yeah if you wanna see my current main project look here :3"

im still planning to work on a more personal site too for housing more of my fannish work and other non-story ocs (and maybe some more personal stuff... id love a place to collect photos of my fav things & for some other things like. maybe a little redux of the system stuff i originally had on my old site [which is still up but i might pull since most of it is broken... ive learnt my lesson about image hosting i swear] depending on what i decide is the most fun. im debating whether i go the route of having a relatively consistent appearance (like im planning to do with terralith) or if i let the pages themselves kind of dictate the appearance (more like my old site, which is a bit disjointed but its a little charming... i need to separate out a section of that site since it's actually a story / character project for wtds)

art-wise i think im probably going to see if i can hunt down a good base to actually hammer out the Designs for a lot of the characters ive been working on - they all have a general concept in my head but they dont have anything too solid. either that or i'll try and work on improving the reference for elyria.. i want to have most of the reference stuff done in time for art fight since im planning to participate for at least a week of it (although it will probably involve adjusting refs for old characters as well. some of them are super outdated and i need to add in notes for ones like tyler since ive changed how i draw him)

im sorry i havent been posting like at all lol, on a technical level i FINALLY got my cousin's pc, set it up with my dad in my room already and its absolutely great i cant wait to finally get to hop back on TS4 on it i ran TS4 really quick to update and enable mods/all that stuff but i still need to get an external hard drive/storage to import all general data/files from my old laptop i still want to keep like images,music,vids etc but Especially my TS4 files like my obnoxiously large mods folder like its actually ridiculous how much general cc files, script mod files, replacements def/non-def, lighting mods both for cas/in game n reshade presets i had and still want to keep cause i cba to restart i swear LMAO i still want my old sims ]: in spite of all the headache flashbacks ill get from how bad they would lag, glitch, break and how often my game would crash i still love those saves hhh, also my mods folder is at least over 10k+ files i wont eloaborate why and thats also why i cant be assed to start over LMAO also wont go over too much cause im still knee deep in it but ive been struggling with really and i mean Really bad ADHD induced general burnout WHILST i already was dealing with absolutely awful creative burnout so my brain is scrambled into tiny little shards of charcoal for the past weeks (months even) so i have had little to no motivation to work on things specially my art which has been incredibly painful to the point ill cry sometimes and feel my chest getting tight cause i get frustrated and struggle to produce anything good or that i like, ive been working on it since i started doing research/spoke to my psych and therapist about important exercises to alleviate/bounce back from both burnouts and thankfully (trying to be positve lmfao) both have recommended steps that are either similar/the same or interpolated very well like getting more outside, bettering sleep (which i definitely had been neglecting like a few weeks ago i stayed awake for 3 days straight..😬) ive been trying to branch out on hobbies, trying different art styles for fun and blahblah other things i wont bore anyone with but yerp these past days ive been mainly trying to get my focus on working on those and so far ive improved my sleep quite a lot, i just need to create an actual schedule which is highly important to, atm im working on it but its still a very unorganized schedule but nonethless feeling a lot of painful side effects from shit sleep fading away like really really bad dry eye, pretty boring update i havent been doing much lol but i figured i would post something to clarify i just had been kind of embarrassed to do so, also heres some random drawing ive done for fun in diff styles these past days.

- That’s a good idea. Being able to pick specifically I think would be too much. There are ALOT of corruptions so that would mean many many menus to be able to select everything. Being able to pick one of the four types seems fair to me as something to spend points on in Full Custom. Added it to my notes. 

[Anonymous said]: Have a succubus slaver who used to be a lamia. On level up, she had the option to get the Fleet trait, which I thought was off-limits for Lamia due to their body shape. I think it's a bug?

On the topic of that Racial, it says " includes one human, and three other different races/subtypes gain an additional Success" Does that mean one human and three non-humans, or one human and three slavers each of a different race from each other?

-Took me awhile to work this out as going from human to human seemed fine. However you’re right that those with a heritage like demi-angels or succubi will incorrectly keep the previous racial. 

The second so as long as you have at least one human you can get the buff by say having a northerner, noble, wastelander, and convent.

I do an update on the patreon every two weeks which is linked on the twitter. You do not need to be a patron to read these and is the best way to stay informed about what I’ve been up to. That includes the status of the conversion. To quickly sum it up;

It's at a stage where all the RAGS to Twine code conversion is basically done. What I need to do now is translate all that work into something playable and there's currently big logic issues with a bunch of the conditions and passages. So what I'm currently doing is trying to tidy up the visual look of the code with a bunch of idents with the theory that will make finding the errors easier.

Alas it’s not me disallowing guest posts... Picarto had some massive stonking issues and so they locked things down hard due to that preventing guests from chatting. I suggest a throwaway email site to get around that.

I don’t think there’s any art in the game file that’s not used as I try to keep on top of deleting the old ones. Not really down for doing art packs of the old ones as due to that not being my art so I see them as placeholder only until they can be replaced by commissions. 

I probably do need to do some kind of roadmap sometime. I’m less keen as it’s kind of a dirty word these days as due to the miss-use of them by others it’s got some bad connontations, but I’m also aware the alternative which is me randomly mentioning stuff on discord/picarto streams leaves the vast majority of my audience in the dark which is also really not ideal.

It’s not hit industrialization yet. What makes the difference is and allows cities like Aversol and even bigger to exist is that the organization of the human empire is far better than it has any right to be for the other levels of development being able to keep an incredibly complex supply chain constantly flowing even if on the ground level it barely seems to be moving at all. There are also some much, much larger farms both on the Great Plains and further to the north compared to the much more isolated single/couple of households ones that your slavers raid.

Love When Week’s End Comes for a recent one. Writing all the results in colour commentary (and all the variations for weather, events and outcomes) was a real challenge and I do like how it came out. 

Witch-Queen and Arisin’ for being the first times I tried to go for a different, more potentially disturbing/freaky mood, and I’m pleased with the results. 

Sable Masquerade as I really like the ‘bad end’ I came up with. Actually I like the whole thing as while the pitch from the patron obviously helped, a lot of it was inspired by a random superhero bondage party picture I saw on HF, which I decided to run with, and had a bunch of fun exploring.

Clothing management. So very much clothing management. I’ve redone it entirely twice now, and it’s still not where I want it to be. 

[From the Discord]: What was your inspiration for creating the setting of No Haven?  Has the direction the game has gone varied from your initial idea? If so what has been the biggest change?

- It started off with adapting the chan game Deeper Dungeons which was basically a certain popular mmo with nothing different about it outside of it being porn along with some possibly unwise options of personal abuse. I first changed it by ditching gnomes for neko which to my mind was a clear upgrade. There even used to be an examine refference in the RAGS version to suggest they’d been in the region of the dungeons before being driven out.

Then it was a gradual process of adding with the occasional subtractions to get it closer to a more Warhammer feeling setting which has always been a major love of mine when I was still doing Whorelock’s in RAGS.

With No Haven it was a case of building on what I’ve done there and expanding upon that with the race lore and assignment descriptions. Biggest was probably when I did the favoured/unfavoured stuff and added a ton of extra backstory to various races to justify the choices made there.

FIVE: Brave New World

hhhh FUCK !! every time i think of brave new world i am simultaneously filled with regret and pride. that fic is 160k+, unfinished, a fucking train wreck. its a year old and i really WANT to finish it one day... but everytime i try i just... i started that fic when i had just started writing, so it’s... not good. there are some passages i really like in it, and some plot points i jsut adore. plus imagene and lucivida? i’ll always be proud of them, but at the same time i cant help but feel that the fic is... bad. im always surprised when someone comes into my inbox wanting to know more about the story or the characters or if im updating bc tbh ive been avoiding it. my mind keeps pulling me back to it more and more but i just... i look at it and i cant. im going to try, i swear but for now the best i can do is just think about it. im still very proud of it since i spent so much time on it. i worked so hard to write that and even if its not good my writing progresses i think. ive improved a lot. one day i will finish it... and then immediately redo it and give it a much better life. i still love it, more than i should.

Week 3-History of Design Part 1

 Being an Architecture student, I must learn the basis on design, and how I can develop my thoughts from one piece to another. I picked a scan of my first few desktop organizer designs form the first day of school, a lot of my designs are basic, I just took geometric shapes and replaced them in different ways to create a type of language. Each of my organizers had some sort of drawers, paper filers, and cubbies. I didn’t try very hard with my first design, it just popped into my head and that’s what I stuck with. And my final still has these basic components but “more is less.” One day I went to Union Concourse and sketched out the stairwell that’s in there, ever since I toured Milwaukee the Union has been one of my favorite buildings. The layout of the stairs is so creative and modern, that even though the Union has a sort of bland coloring to it, the stairs create a kind of distraction from the colors. The stairs are a sort of optical allusion, it’s as if the left stairs reach all the way across from the right and vice versa, without touching. But in fact, they meet in the middle giving users the option of a different path each time. One of my modules in my drawing book is called “Other,” and the basis of the idea of showing movement and value with just lines. We often practice showing three-dimensional quality with shading and highlight within our drawings, these drawings are not only helping us improve our drawings skills, but they’re also helping us think about different forms and colors for our future designs. Another module I picked out was called “Media,” once again we were practicing shading and highlight, but this time we played with different media to improve our spectrum. Although the drawing may just be a simple farmhouse the idea is much broader. This last drawing is my final colored charrette desktop organizer, it’s small and simplistic but like I said earlier “more is less.” For my materials, I went with a mixture of wood and plastic, I like to mix different types of woods form dark to light with just one plain color. I think it gives it a very sleek look, along with that I had some basic organizer in my design, but I chose to extend my design horizontally with the side cup holders. Something to help give it a little more pop. 

After my drawings I looked at my notes from Architectual thinking 104, this is beyond my favorite class I have ever taken, go through all the different stylistic movements, and discussing how they influenced architecture is so amazing to me. On Monday, we talked about the significance of the Art Noveau movement and who was large influencer during the time. Of course, as “Graphic Design: A New History,” talked about Le Duc we had to as well, are professor taught us about he was greatly inspired by the Gothic style of the 12th century. She also taught us about the difference between ornament and ornamentation, being that one was simply for decoration or something that was “attached,” while the other was a revealing style that showed the functional identity of the design. On that day as well, we talked about the Arts and Crafts movement, a time where people were so disgusted by mass production that they started building firms where people would hand craft objects like furniture. By having items be handcrafted, builders were able to promise buyer their attention to detail and a simple respect for nature in one item. A building that I chose was the Milwaukee Art museum, this building design is amazing. The shape of the wings and the fact that they do flap, is my favorite part and was a big highlight of my first trip to Milwaukee. The Art museum is very sleek looking, and the inside has a lot of ornamentation. One thing though that has always bothered me about the building shape if that one side is longer than the other, I think they should’ve tried to either even them out, or to cut the right side off. Other than that, I love the building, the slanted glass windows give the building itself a winged look to it. Another building that’s on campus and is obviously my favorite would be the School of Architecture and Urban Planning building. The mixture of textures from brick, concrete, and glass helps it stick out from the other rustic red brick buildings. Every day I sit inside and while I do my homework, I admire the openness all the way up to the ceiling. I think it’s important for the buildings inner working to be exposed for students, so that they can understand how the building they’ve grown in for over four years stands tall. My final building would have to be the North West Quad, whenever I walk into the building, I swear I find new areas that I’ve never seen before. I really like the NWQ because even though it’s creepy that the building was and old hospital, the outside has so much going for it. Just like the other old buildings on campus, the NWQ also is covered in the red brick but the build creates texture and pattern with some light colored and offset bricks. The addition of the children center brings some life and color to the building through the colorful playground on Hartford. One thing I take for granted though is the buildings size, when walking at the base the NWQ is small, but when looking at from Sanburg, you can see all the Quadrants stacked on top of each other like Jenga.

Webcomic Whimsy: Parhelion

Welcome to the Woohooligan Weekly Webcomic Whimsy! I've given a couple of interviews in the past, but this is my first experience with reviewing. Synopsis: (from ParhelionComic.com/about) - The World’s Collective, an ambitious plan to unite the galaxy, has just formally collapsed. A despondent interpreter hires a pirate to retrieve some personal files from his office, and they hit it off. Meanwhile, wheels are turning throughout the galaxy, with all kinds of plans at cross-purposes. Warlords lock horns, Boltzmann Brains fight for freedom, and plenty of people just want some peace and quiet.

The first thing anyone is bound to notice about Parhelion is its experimental art style. I suspect this will be a case of "love it or hate it" with very few people in the undecided camp. It certainly has its appeal, with a kind of "baroque simplicity", (which in English means it looks more complicated than it is). Although later chapters get some monochromatic coloring, there's never full color and it might be better that way. Even when a character is human, the lines of the form often don't intersect, leaving a gap at a joint like a waist or elbow, so full color might look out of place. With alien characters, all bets are off, as there's barely a passing nod to notions of anatomy. One drawback to this style is the ambassador from the Planet of the Floor Lamps! (See, it's like Planet of the Apes but...)

A small side-note: so far, Riley is the only author I've reviewed who maintains an annotated synopsis of all his chapters. It's a nice touch if you'd like to see the whole outline of the story in advance.

If you don't mind an occasional character who looks like office furniture, there's a dystopian space opera here that you might enjoy, hot on the heels of a failed galactic government called the Collective. The first page opens with, "like it or not, civilization is built on stimulants, pornography and worse." I'm not sure if the author thinks poorly of porn or if they expect the reader to. I personally think porn is like other industries, there's some bad stuff to be had, but there are also unscrupulous insurance people making money off of the death or misfortune of others. So I won't personally single-out the porn industry as "bad stuff", and stimulants? Meh... coffee is a stimulant. But if you're expecting any porn in this comic, remember that any dick picks will inevitably look like a Tinkertoy with this style of art. (There isn't any porn, it's T for Teen.)

But I digress... that opening line is intended to set the mood of Parhelion's dystopian future. The main character, Peter, is jaded while not being entirely cynical, describing the recently collapsed Collective as "a beacon of hope, smothered at birth by a pack of vultures."

Peter meets his alien, soon-to-be partner, a translator named Cerril, at a bar. In fact, Peter interrupts Cerril's week-long alcoholic bender, mid-gargle-blaster. You see, Cerril's an ivory tower jackoff who used to work for the Collective, before it's untimely collapse just days or weeks before the story started. That's why he needs all the booze. What he didn't know is that Peter needs a translator.

This is also a good time to point out another small problem with the art style, which is, when you use straight, perpendicular lines for your dialog balloons, especially when you're drawing in black and white, the dialog can easily get lost in the illustration, like it does at the bottom of the above page. Or it can create parallel tangents or fake panels like at the top of the previous page.

There's also a fair amount of black comedy or "gallows humor" in Parhelion, like Peter insisting to terms for his own murder, specifically that it be an involved and painful mano-a-mano affair. And Riley occasionally gets technical. Unlike Star Wars in which the function of the protocol droid C-3PO is simply assumed, Riley stops for a couple pages to explain why Cerril's job title is "translator" instead of "office clerk". Oh, but I was wrong about the Tinkertoys...

Several pages are devoted to developing the characters for Peter and Cerril before there's been any real plot. Peter presents himself as a happy-go-lucky space pirate, a kind of bargain-bin Han Solo. And it turns out that the falling-down-drunk Cerril isn't entirely cynical either.

I know I sound like a broken record here, but I see a lot of what I feel is slow pacing in the webcomics I'm reviewing. Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm being a little overly critical on this point. Having said that, I'm seventeen pages in and while I've gotten some good character development for Peter and Cerril, I still haven't seen any plot development beyond "you need to bring me the translator and you can't refuse because I'm your pirate-boss and you're in deep." For reference, a standard issue of a Marvel or DC title is twenty to twenty-four pages, so if this were one of their books, we'd be on the very last couple of pages with only just the basic character development covered.

That's when we see Peter's gnarly missing-eye scar... or is that mechanical? Hard to tell.

But I do think they make a good team... it's basically that bargain bin Han Solo teamed up with a drunken, curmudgeonly C-3PO.

Note that in the bottom half of this page, those are supposed to be fully human, factory-direct hands, with no modifications. It's that sort of thing that makes me say I think this art style will be fairly polarizing: you'll love it or hate it, there won't be a lot of indifference. The hand on the left looks like a bunch of straw sticking out of a sleeve and the one on the right looks like a garden rake. Yeah, he's a bargain bin Han Solo, but this picture makes him look like a badass, one-eyed, space-pirate scarecrow from the land of Oz.

At the beginning of their three-day trip, Cerril asked Peter to steal something for him. By day three, Cerril finally explains that it was just some personal files he wouldn't be able to retrieve from his offices after the Collective collapsed. That's when it's revealed that these particular space pirates are gay, although that reveal is weirdly subtle and kind of sprung on the reader out of the blue like a jump-scare in a horror movie, or maybe a Rickroll. (I'm bringin' back ALL the dated memes, bae!) Pete and Cerril mention "neck marks" without any indication they had been playing tonsil hockey, although that's preceded by some peculiar seating arrangements that weren't foreshadowed in any way. So in a storytelling sense, it feels like we went from teeth-clenched teamwork to the power of love while skipping the middle part where "I'm going to murder you in your sleep, you slaver" gradually becomes "let's slip into something more comfortable".

And then they touch-down on what appears to be literally the land of Oz, right off the yellow-brick road, just outside of the Emerald City. There's even an old-fashioned hand-made crossroads sign.

Just in time to let us know that three days alone in the ship wasn't nearly enough time for sex! Seriously, you need at least a week for a proper blowjob.

But if you thought Peter's missing eye looked painful, it's nothing compared to the hopelessly tangled earbuds that comprise the "face" of the tyrant known as the Basilisk.

Although some of the Baroqueness is rather nice.

We've had a few budget cuts, so the part of Parliament's architectural columns will be played by butt-plugs. (You can't unsee it! You're welcome.)

Starting in the second chapter, Riley starts getting creative with the lettering, occasionally replacing a character or two with an alien symbol. The only pattern I can see is that a particular letter or combination is always given the same symbol, so what would be "th" becomes a single symbol that vaguely resembles a J, making "the" look like "je". It's obviously not used for the purpose of censoring swearing, since the page starts with the phrase "fucking joke" (a priest, a rabbi and a minister walk into an orgy). Given that, I can only imagine that these random substitutions are purely for the purpose of adding an alien flavor to the narration or dialog of certain characters. Personally, I'm not on-board. Riley's already added some similar decoration around the dialog box, and I feel like that's the more appropriate way to create that flavor. These substitutions in the text keep interrupting my reading flow as I have to stop to workout what "video#at" or "fai#ful" mean. It's only a fraction of a second for any individual word, however even that fractional pause is noticeable and mildly irritating as a reader. Like I said, the style of this comic is experimental, and experimentation always comes with some risk and sometimes it pays off. I just don't feel like, as experiments go, this text experiment was a keeper. What do you think?

It isn't until the fourth page of chapter two that Peter and Cerril officially become partners, with a little light comedy that reminds me a little of C-3PO's pitch to uncle Owen in Star Wars IV, except that Cerril is arguing against going with Alison. (That may have a lot to do with my already saying Cerril reminds me of C-3PO.)

While the writing on this page is good and Cerril's body language is well done, the page as a whole has several trouble-spots. There are several ways the first panel could have been composed without letting the dialog cut into the top of Alison's head. While it's not hard to figure out in this particular case, dialog from a character off-camera is frequently shown as it is here in the 2nd and 3rd panel. This is problematic for a couple of reasons, one because there's no visual difference between these dialog boxes and a narration box. That's not confusing on this particular page, but I could easily see it becoming confusing on other pages. Second, and more importantly, I've seen a few more recent pages where this is done in a scene with three or more characters and it's not always apparent who's speaking. Use of colored dialog boxes or a small symbol indicating the character could resolve this issue, although as an artist myself, I would work a little harder to keep the speaking characters on-camera. I might still use the symbol on some infrequent occasions if I were having a really difficult time with the composition of a specific page. I just don't think the off-camera boxes should be a frequent occurrence... reserve them for when Dorothy finally meets the Wizard.

And on page six of the second chapter, we're finally on to our dynamic duo's first suicide mission (of many, natch). I'm pretty sure they have one of those hole-punch coupons, they get a free sandwich after every fifth suicide mission they complete. Loyalty is important, yo!

Don't worry though, the veteran Peter has a plan! Peter's plan is to show up unannounced to a definitely hostile, likely heavily armed facility, and say "Hi! I'm peter! Go fuck yourself!" Which, of course, works every time. No, seriously, nobody even mentions it being weird and they make plans with the manager of the hostile station to go get tacos later.

But Peter wants to to know you don't fuck with a space-pirate's tacos, you spineless corporate cuck!

And since Parhelion is more of a black comedy than an adventure (I'm sure it's in there somewhere), this taco tirade is the big mistake where shit gets real. (Yeah, no, it's totally not lazily waltzing in on a hostile, likely heavily armed base. That part was cake.)

I really like that dramatic last panel on page fifteen of chapter two, so that's where I'm going to end this review.

So there's my pitch. If you enjoy tongue-in-cheek space opera, surreal and experimental illustration, and gay space-pirates, it's worth a look at Parhelion!
