I believe that she also comes along with an event spotlighting Sircacusa, which I think is v cool aaa ✨😮!

After seeing some small pieces of news about her, I'm rather excited for Texas The Omertosa to come to the EN server omg svhss 👉👈!! I happen to like Texas lots as a character as I think she's v cool, and the design of Texas The Omertosa is super amazing 😮🥳!!!

Texas is wearing more formal-styled and ostentatious clothing for her alternate, which is a contrast to her more straightforward and comfortable clothing we've usually seen her wear 🤔! Her hair is styled a lot more elegantly for her alternate as well ✨! It's a new look for her aaa, she definitely looks v v pretty omg ahsjsbs~

(I also noticed that instead of red which she's often been associated with, there's blue for her alternate, which is the opposite colour to red, hm 🤔!)

And I generally enjoy it lots enjoy when we can see characters wearing clothing that is unlike their usual style of clothes aaa 🥳!!

Hypergryph has definitely been releasing quite a few alternates as of recent agsusgs 😮 I know that alternate Operators have become sort of a controversial topic among the fanbase, however I enjoy seeing them 👉👈! Even if they might not all make much sense, it's still interesting to see the deeper character development that comes along with alternates, as well as their designs sgshs 🤔

I do have more to say about how I feel towards alternates, however I feel it wouldn't be fair to take away from Texas The Omertosa's spotlight here lolol 👉👈 so perhaps a different time or if anyone would be interested in hearing about my thoughts on Operator alternates!

Series 5 Episodes 4 & 5: The Time of Angels & Flesh and Stone

Yoo they brought the Weeping Angels AND River Song back in the same episode? Damn this has gotta be awesome everyone strap yourselves in let’s gooo.

So the first question I’ve gotta ask is should the Weeping Angels have even come back in the first place? I’m very much on the no side of this argument and I think the cracks are already starting to show for them in this story, because they make the Angels bonkers strong. The whole “image of an Angel is an Angel” thing is bad enough, as now you could theoretically the Angels could just make an infinite Angel generator by holding someone hostage and getting them to draw them or smth. With the old Angels this wouldn’t have been the case, but oh now they can TALK. And not just through a radio, at the climax of the story they speak telepathically(?) with The Doctor, so they could easily execute the above plan and then it’s gg the world. Also wait this would probably make for a cool story copyright Daisy on this one I’m calling it “The Artist and her Angels” that’s a fire title. ANYWAYS to add on to all of this turns out if you stare an Angel in the eye for too long an Angel gets imprinted onto your mind? And you can’t ever open your eyes again? Why didn’t this happen to the Blink gang? Idk how this problem even got fixed but the Weeping Angels are soo overpowered in this story. It feels like there’s just too many additions to their power and it makes it so that now we have to rely on Deus Ex Machinas everything they’re on screen in order for the story to be solved. Alongside this seeing the Angels move kinda demystifies them for me, as a lot of these things do. The less known about the Weeping Angels, the better their stories are for it.

OKAY Angel rant over now let’s talk about River Song’s return and it’s… ok? She’s not a badly written character in this story per se, I think particularly in Flesh and Stone she shines quite well and she sprinkles in some very nice dialogue/mysteries that I enjoy. My issue is more the first episode where her intro is just soo overdone I feel. It takes us 8 MINUTES to land on the planet that’s nuts. But ye as I said, she’s v strong in the 2nd ep so I’ll let it slide. Saying that I think there’s something really off about the pacing in these episodes. In the first episode it feels like one big threat and then a cliffhanger, with lots of characters filling in the background, whereas the second episode just refuses to stop and let the viewer breathe. It just feels a bit too imbalanced in my opinion.

Also wow Amy’s character in these two episodes is… badddd. She’s made into the damsel in distress for pretty much the entire runtime, with both the TV Angel and the eye Angel plaguing her time here, and then she sexually assaults The Doctor at the end??? Like cmonn Moffat some shows are suited to exploring sexual assault but not Doctor Who. I’ve not watched Vampires in Venice for a while but iirc it’s just, not touched on at all in that story and that bothers me a lot if you’re putting something this heavy into your show’s series arc. Tho I do think Moffat in general struggles to write women well in the 11th Doctor’s era, but I imagine we’ll talk a lot more about that in future episodes.

TL:DR/Overview: Wow I did not like this episode as much as I thought I did at all. The Weeping Angels are warped into a different kind of villain that is just too strong for the world of Doctor Who, the pacing of these episodes is all over the place, and Amy’s character is written horrifically. I’m trying to think of a reason not to put this in D tier and the only arguments I have against that is that it’s kinda fun still, and I think Matt Smith as always is doing a good job. But unlike Victory of the Daleks where his performance is absolutely outstanding, I don’t think it’s so good I can bump this story up into C tier. God I need to go hide under a rock this is gonna be my most controversial review yet aaa sdlkjg. It’s D tier for me, tho I’m happy lots of other people can find enjoyment in this episode <3.

Last series: The Haunting of Hill House (rewatched with a friend) 💚 It’s such a great series, I could rewatch it again. It’s a horror but more focused on the psychology of the characters, their (broken) relationships and family issues running very deep. As the show goes you slowly learn more and more about this family and the story of each member, how they got to where they are now, what they struggle with, and who they were in the past. They are also one of the most complex, diverse, and well played characters I’ve seen. Everything is done in such a beautiful way, from storytelling to setting and even camera work, some scenes are still so vividly stuck in my head. And the music is gorgeous, especially this piece which became one of my fav piano pieces of all time. I freaking just made a post of my live experience because it pretty much says everything (without spoilers). This show took me through so many emotions, very anxious towards the end, but smoothed and untwisted them steadily, ending with a sense of completion and calmness. I felt literal catharsis and was left full of good emotions after experiencing a worthwhile story. I wholeheartedly recommend. But yeah, it’s still a horror with some scary scenes (but mostly in the beginnings, it gets chill towards the end because you learn what’s the deal and know the ‘monsters’). It didn’t scare me but my friend was more jumpy xd

Sweet, savory, or spicy: spicy my beloved. I can’t handle too much sweetness and savory is very much nope (vege go brrr)

Craving: I bet violet and green with a pinch of night sky on top and a smell of white-golden light would taste amazing

Jean wasn’t the biggest fan of parties. He didn’t like the way drinking in excess made him feel, and being crammed in a room with so many people had him feeling claustrophobic, which brought back some unpleasant memories of the Nest. 

But he was really trying to be better. To be more social, to get to know his teammates outside the court. Or, at least he told himself that was why he was in Alvarez and Laila’s shared dorm room for a victory party after winning their their last death match and proceeding on to semi-finals. 

If he was being honest with himself, Jeremy was the real reason he was here.

Jeremy made it clear Jean didn’t have to come. He always made it clear that Jean could do what he liked, which, really, was half the reason Jean usually agreed to whatever stupid plans Jeremy invited him to. He also liked the way Jeremy’s entire face lit up when he told him he’d go.

So, that explained why Jean was sitting on the arm of the girls’ couch, nursing a strawberry-flavored drink in a red Solo cup and mostly just watching everyone else get steadily drunker around him.

He didn’t notice Jeremy until he flopped down on the couch cushion directly beside Jean. “Hey,” he said, leaning in close to Jean in order to be heard over the music and general chatter of the party.

Jean looked over at him, and even though he’d been expecting it, Jeremy’s brilliant smile still half-blinded him. “Hi,” he returned.

Jeremy’s smile widened, and Jean had to look away, staring down at his hands and spinning his cup in circles between his palms.

“Are you having fun?” Jeremy asked, nudging Jean gently with his elbow.

Jean thought about that, but not for long. “Yes,” he said, giving his head a small nod and chancing a glance over at Jeremy. He almost said he was having more fun now that Jeremy was with him, but he stopped himself. He knew how that would come across.

“Good,” Jeremy said, his smile only broadening. The song that was playing ended, leaving the room in a half-silence for a beat until the next song on whatever playlist was going started playing. Jean nodded.

“Hey,” Jeremy said, getting to his feet again. Jean tried not to be disappointed that he was leaving, and failed. But then Jeremy didn’t leave, and turned back to Jean. “Wanna dance?”

Jean blinked, staring incredulously up at Jeremy. “Dance?” He asked.

“Yeah, dance,” Jeremy confirmed. “I like this song, and I’m way too hyped up to sit still right now.” He held out his hand to Jean. “C’mon.”

Jean continued to stare at him. “I don’t think I would be much fun to dance with,” he tried. “I never have before. You should try one of the others.” He motioned vaguely at the rest of the Trojans, scattered around the dorm.

Jeremy scrunched up his nose. “But I wanna dance with you,” he said. Jean tried ignoring the way he heart did a little leap in his chest when Jeremy put emphasis on you like that.

“How much have you had to drink?” Jean asked, because frankly he couldn’t find any other explanation for this besides Jeremy being drunk off his ass.

“A little,” Jeremy said. “Not even that much. Like, two beers.” He waved his hand through the air dismissively. Jean tracked the motion, but didn’t flinch. He knew by now that Jeremy would never hurt him. “Anyway, who cares. Let’s gooo. Y’know, if you want. You don’t have to.”

Jean considered him for a moment, but eventually he nodded and took Jeremy’s hand, letting him pull him to his feet. He set his cup down on the windowsill, entirely too aware that Jeremy still hadn’t dropped his hand. Jean knew he should let go, but he didn’t want to. Neither he nor Jeremy said anything, but neither of them moved from that spot, either.

“Dancing,” Jean prompted, waving his free hand over at the make-do dance floor, which was pretty much just Laila and Alvarez’s kitchen, cleared of any furniture.

“Dancing,” Jeremy agreed, but he didn’t move an inch.

Jean let his eyes drop to their hands for only a split second before looking back up to meet Jeremy’s eyes. He expected Jeremy to let go and head over to the dance floor, but instead he twisted his hand around and laced his fingers through Jean’s.

Jean was vaguely aware, somewhere in his mind, that they were standing in the middle of a room full of people, but he couldn’t take his eyes off Jeremy. Maybe he was reading too far into things. Jeremy was a very physically affectionate person. Maybe he was completely imagining things, letting his stupid fucking crush and the small amount of alcohol he’d had amplify things in his head. But what if he wasn’t? What if—

Before his mind could run in circle and agonize over the situation any longer, Jeremy stood up on his toes and pressed his lips to Jean’s. It only lasted about half a second, and it was feather light, but it was still enough to tilt the world beneath Jean’s feet.

Jean blinked, taking a moment to remember how to function as a human being. He opened his mouth, but he didn’t know what to say, so he just said that first thing he could think of. “That’s not dancing,” he pointed out, mentally cringing.

Jeremy laughed. “No, it isn’t,” he agreed. “I like this better though.”

Jean swallowed down whatever reservations he still had, pretty sure his cheeks were literally about to catch fire. “Me too,” he admitted.

Jeremy smiled at him, not his usual toothy grin, but something smaller and somehow even more radiant. “Really?”

Jean nodded. “Yes,” he said, and bent down so he could kiss Jeremy again.
