As for my Sol OCs, I do have a few that are specifically parallels, but I'm never quite happy with them. There's always so many good ideas and I sometimes end up finding other people's takes on them that are SO cool (like Rime!) or that have ideas I was thinking of and I'm suddenly paranoid that I'm ripping off somebody else's character...

I absolutely get the struggle of deciding things like species, there's so many cool animals to use and I freaking struggled deciding on ones for mine. The Knuckles one is probably one of the most complete actually, but unfortunately I cannot show you her or any others because I'm not an artist. 😞 So I just rotate them all in my head until I think "Nice" and put it down on a digital notepad. I'm always interested to see others create their takes on them though! I'm certainly interested in all of yours!

I never considered Team Dark, apart from my Sol Shadow, who's definitely the least thought out. There's so many other cool ones out there, so I never really bothered. The few I have, if you're curious, are supposed to be Knuckles and Amy, to round out Blaze and Marine's Classic Quartet basically. And also a different Sol Eggman, because Blaze's nemesis being Eggman in G-major feels like a kick in the face to both Blaze and the actual Eggman 😒. (I also have a Sol Big but she's technically a joke character. She's also really small. I gave her a dinosaur though, as all women deserve.)

I love the idea of Sol Amy too, I personally have 0 ideas for them so might not design my own version tbh. But having a Sol Classic 4 is super cute! You could have a lot of fun with their designs too, the way classic Amy looks pretty different from modern Amy. Sol Eggman too... I've just kinda retconned Nega and made him actually be from the Sol dimension idc about canon LOL I haven't thought about it too much.

Also TINY SOL BIG??? I'm in love that's so cute and such a fun alt version. With a dinosaur too FUCK yes.

I really love how imaginative people are when it comes to the Sol dimension, actually giving it more characters and lore! If sega won't give it love then at least we will 😤

🔥 Mortal Kombat. The new one specifically

Now that the initial hype has died down and I've had some time to decide how I feel about it I think it's. Fine. I'm enjoying it more than MK11 so far, but I don't find it as fun as MK9 or MKX, or even just other fighting games that are out right now. I wonder if that's a me thing tho, like maybe I just don't enjoy MK/NRS games as much as I used to. Idk *shrugs* I'm still playing it and will continue playing it on and off for a while of course, but I don't know if I see it being my main game the way MK usually is, ya feel me? (I also don't know what will be my main game if it's not MK tho... hm.)

I also just think this game feels Weird as far as story/lore goes. Like, it's not bad, it definitely didn't piss me off the way Aftermath did, but it is. Weird. And some of it I don't like. I've already expressed frustration over Kitana's lack of story in this game and how I wasn't really vibing with this version of Mileena, and I was having a hard time putting it into words. Really they just left me feeling empty in this game, because while I did want Kitana and Mileena to make up and be friends the way Sub-Zero and Scorpion did, the way it's done here feels so unfulfilling. I wanted them to develop past their rivalry, yeah, but I didn't want their rivalry erased. I wanted them to stop putting Kitana through the wringer for a game, but I didn't want her to have no story at all. Everything that made Kitana and Mileena interesting to me before is just gone now, it doesn't exist for these versions of the characters. Mileena doesn't even feel like the same Mileena and I can't help being a bit salty that Kitana is so sidelined while Mileena is given story beats that, minus the disease (which is also Weird), feel remarkably similar to Kitana. At least we still have Titan Kitana but how much can I count on seeing her in the future? This game didn't leave me super hopeful for New Kitana so Titan Kitana might be all I have now, which depending on how the next games go might not be much at all

That was a lot about Kitana and Mileena lol but like Kitana is the main thing I care about so. Aside from them, uuh. Well I hate that Sonya isn't here. I didn't think I would mind it this much, but not having her around for the start of this new era really does feel so wrong, especially when we're left with no women in the Earthrealm gang until Ashrah shows up (and then promptly disappears... she and Reptile aren't even sitting with the gang at Madame Bo's at the end ffs). Feels like a misstep to not have Sonya. Just drop the military thing and bring her back as a yoga teacher or something idc. Liu why did you leave her out? Liu for a dollar name a woman

I also think the Lin Kuei storyline was really poorly handled but I'm also not entirely surprised by that since it's always been a side thing.

For some positives, I like Liu Kang and Raiden's role reversal in this, Shang is an absolute delight and served insane levels of kunt, and I really liked Sindel, she was interesting. Really I thought the story was pretty neat up until the multiverse stuff happened, but I'm just really burned out on multiverses so yeah. Again, at least we got Titan Kitana out of it and her reunion with Liu Kang is genuinely very sweet

So yeah overall... Fine. A solid enough game, I like it but idk if I love it

for fc5 i'd have to go w the endings, touched on it in a previous response but i think they both suck ass tbh. i end up just making up my own shit.

for fallout..... well that's a hard one because fallout's canon isn't very good. and has a lot of weird shit in it. i mean honestly i could just broadly gesture at all of it. fo has So Many Problems. but to point out smth specific, the way ghouls are handled comes to mind almost immediately. tons of missed potential and a lot of inconsistencies. wtf was up with the ghoul kid in the fridge?? lil man was NOT in there for 200 years. his ass would've fucking died. they still have to like. eat and stuff. plus it's just weird how 200 years post nuke ppl are still like EWWW AN IRRADIATED PERSON!!! like? bro you're all fucking irradiated. i know about your 11th toe and that weird spot on your butt cheek. you'd think ppl would get used to it by then. i get that obviously hatred of groups like that doesnt just go away over time magically but it just feels unrealistic the way they handle it. also boring.

3.) What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need?

Everything I want to write for the WIP is Coming So Help Me God. If it doesn't fit but is still Mass Effect it's going in a supplimentary little oneshots catch all thing. That's been most of the brain atm, I've got some DW WIPs but I'm totally gonna get back to them I promise.

That Does Not Mean I have Never had half assed ideas I didn't write.

I wanted to make my DBH fic longer, I wanted it to be a whole thing about Connor getting super overwhelmed with being a Deviant and everything that entails and it was all a super thinly veiled metaphor for autistic burnout. I also briefly thought I would recreate the whole of DBH as a text-adventure that was naive hah.

I wanted to write a She-Ra fic focusing on what if Adora just let Catra come with her when she sneaked out of the horde to go find the sword in the first episode. It was gonna be a big long AU and basically everything would be different if that one thing changed. They were gonna be gay way earlier

I have a whole original thing I have never written much of at all but I do have ideas!! I also have Assignmence and Autism Special Interests which take precident a lot of the time.

8.) Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?

This is a fun one because mostly no? Depends on how specific you get. I write fanfic, I read a lot of fanfic. In terms of genre, I love writing angst, if I do not feel 1000% confident that the angst will be held properly (no big dramatic plot twists or OOC stuff for drama or fuckin cliffhangers, dickhead) then I will just simply not read it. No. I do like when it's funny and nonsense and I write a lot of that, but I also like when random americans write about fucking Calculus man idk what I like that's between me, god, and a team of psychologists.

15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)?

I am simply built different these are all easy hahhaa. I am shit at suggesting titles for others writing but for me I just title everything either a joke or a song lyric and wham done. Idk if they're catchy or enticing I have no idea I just want it to all line up so you can scroll and sing a really weird disjointed version of a song weeee

WELL!! You are gonna read this and be like "none of this was new information to me" but idc I'm saying it anyway (SPOILERS FOR MY MASS EFFECT FIC LOL)

ROBOT SHEPARD. I adored that as a concept, it literally wasn't my goal with Tis Grace I have notes from the beginning trying to focus on the, like, social implictations of being dead for a while but it wasn't holding water and then I was like what about the physical implications and then I was like WHAT IF SHE'S AN AI

it was great and there is SO much coming for that, there's stuff in my ME3 one that revolves around that and I'm so excited for. It's all foreshadowed and set up and it's fun because a lot of it happened almost accidentally. In terms of relationships, I obviously love the title lesbians, I swear I do even though they have been together for maybe 15 minutes in the fic but look. I wanted an explanation for why Liara isn't with you in ME2 and I could not think of a cheery one for that. I also didn't expect to be as obsessed with Jack as I am but honestly herself and Shepard genuinely having a close friendship? Miranda gets roped in for dramatic tension? They should have let me write the games idc that I was 10 years old

Asher: Favourite Video Game?

My favourite video game is definitely Twilight Princess! I've played it four times. My favourite franchise is The Legend of Zelda (I even named my husky Zelda after the version of her in TP specifically cause there's a wolf lol), and a close second in the series is Skyward Sword.

Other than that, I really love Mario Kart, especially with a group of people.

UNDERRATED PC GAMES: the nancy drew games. I love them. my cousin got me hooked on them when we were kids. we still play from time to time when I go to her house cause she has the good ones downloaded. I've only ever finished two of them, but I've gotten really close to the end in like... 5 or 6 of them?

I also watch a lot of gameplays on YouTube, so some comfort games I like to watch are mostly horror ones (don't ask me why I find horror gameplays comforting?? I don't even know??) like markiplier's fnaf series, or his at dead of night series.

HMMM this is a good one, I had to think about it. It's one of those things that should come easy to me, but I have a lot of different items that I'm super attached to and I'd be upset if I lost them... I'll give a short list of items in my room that are vital to me:

My purple pillow that I use everyday- putting it on my bed is part of my routine now and everything feels off if I don't have that pillow on my bed during the day.

My Avocado squishmallow thing that I won at Wonderland over the summer- his name is Larry. (I just looked it up to see if he actually is a squishmallow and APPARENTLY HIS NAME HAS BEEN AUSTIN THIS WHOLE TIME??? idc he'll always be larry to me.)

A crocheted cardigan with fun sleeves that my mom made for me (and gifted to me as a birthday surprise after months of begging her to let me keep it when she finished it)- I don't wear it that often. I'm scared to ruin it now because it was pretty much the last birthday present I ever got from her, so I treasure it, but I love looking at it folded on my dresser and appreciating it. Similarly, another item is her robe. it still smells like her, even after 10 months.

My haikyuu jersey hoodies- I have four hoodies, one for each of my comfort characters from that show and it makes me insanely happy to know that I have them I can't explain why, they're not even that comfortable :').

And finally: My bookshelf. This might be cheating cause I have a ton of stuff on there but looking at my shelf and how I have my books arranged makes me happy.

american psycho — i actually enjoyed this movie a lot but it’s genuinely bc this movie is much funnier than i thought it would be. all deeper meanings and commentary aside patrick bateman is a fucking specimen

kwaidan — obsessed with this movie ngl. the first three segments are top tier (kurokami, yukionna & HOICHI THE EARLESS ESPECIALLY IF YOU WATCH NO OTHER PART PLEASE WATCH THIS ONE I CANNOT PRAISE IT ENOUGH). however the last one was super lackluster in comparison to the other three. tbh i feel like if the last one was the first one it would be a really good progression from okay to the best bc you really can’t follow hoichi the earless with anything imo.

tales from crypt (1972) — watched a lot of old horror this year (bc my partner is a horror movie buff and has been getting me into them for awhile now lolol) but this movie was a lot of fun! i want more ridiculous anthologies and movies tbh. make movies fun again tm.

jeepers creepers — never seen it before and MY GOD was screaming the whole time i was watching bc no?? we do not need to investigate you KNOW it’s a creature. all of this might’ve been avoided if y’all just minded your damn business 😔

Gosh i dont rly appreciate when ppl make jokes using charas from some series but make them insanely ooc for the sake of the joke?

Like sometimes, it’s okay but i see it constantly for a lot of stuff and i’m here like “bro are we looking at the same character??”

Its hard to explain what i mean since it’s kind of broad and i dont want to give super detailed examples here for a reason, but like…

I think its like. If it’s funny, it’s okay? But sometimes, you sort of know when they take a joke super seriously that the charas are now insanely out of character? Like. I get it if you want it to just stay as humor but in a way its also like “but u’re taking this so seriously that idk if i should treat as a joke/not seriously or if i should treat it seriously and say that it doesnt make sense”.

This particular example i mentioned is from a specific experience i had with (name). Like. It was to the point where pointing out that the charas aren’t like that made them sorta give off the vibe of “idc cause its funny to me and i make the rules of my canon. Why so srs lol”. Like thank god they understood what they had in their head is fanon but still its so jarring to me that i didn’t take what they were doing seriously at all. Its funny and nothing made sense but man y’all are really butchering these characters here.

It was something that particularly bothered me since there were a few instances where it went towards being mildly disrespectful of stuff just for the sake of going “haha funny” which HAS irked me on a few occasions.

I have more to say about it where like? They were suggesting a joke about smth i had with a self insert-ish oc and my fave, but it was kind of… poorly explained and i didnt rly liked that? It was a little funny the first time but they kept recycling the joke cause its “comedy” and i actually had an intricate canon that has comedic elements but is otherwise not a product to be solely a comedy or a rom-com even. Like… it’s a funny joke but i also didn’t rly understand why they made the joke like that? So its badly timed. But i didnt rly know how to tell them i didnt really get it and if i can get some clarification at the time so i kinda ended up sounding dry about it after a while. Cause i didnt want to tell them directly to stop since we’re all just chatting and sharing ideas here, but like. It made me uncomfy cause i felt like i’m forced to find it funny or otherwise i’m no fun and boring to talk to. In hindsight, i really should’ve asked honestly?

Like im not rly their friend or talking to them anymore cause it was that former art friend i vented about a while back and they had more going on for them.

But i will say this though, i’m glad i’m not their friend now. Less about their ideas and what they talked about but how they treated me as a person and the way they acted after they cut me off and i did the same?? Like they got insanely paranoid and shit. It was to the point where i am pretty sure someone else talked about it like “i see someone make a whole post about pruning mutuals if ppl dont respond but end up not doing anything about it and im still their mutual anyways” and like… while i get it, it kinda gave me some horrid red flags and also???

Just to talk about this person for a little bit longer before i get back on topic: i unblocked them after almost half a year cause i wasn’t mad at them anymore and they… blocked me back AFTER i unblocked them cause i was looking through some muted accs and shit on twitter to see if i should unmute them or smth and i was like “Bro what???? Gurl why???” Like… how DID u know i unblocked u like huh???? I just blocked them again cause idrc about them but that was sure weird lol

I kinda want to gripe about that more since. Man… that’s kinda unsettling. LIKE i’m flattered that i’m always on their mind, but it was kinda unnerving in some ways cause like it just meant they were potentially stalking me or smth. I wasn’t even chatting with a lot of ppl on twit enough for my tweets to pop up in the algo but who knows??? I just assumed the bitch got me blocked or muted or smth so i am out of sight, out of mind. But that also ended setting off more flags than it should. And when i went to reblock them, they apparently had some read byf thing on their profile which they never had before i blocked them so like honestly, they prolly did it cause they thought i was actually a toxic amurrican out to make a call out post on them or smth. I wouldnt be surprised if they had a dni thing where i’m on the list like namedropped or an oddly specific vague. SCREAM CHARACTERS: BEDROOMS

got bored and have very specific ideas on what everyone’s rooms look like :-) pics will be attached but only if i can find some that match the vibe i’m going for ALSO i dont care about canon, never have cared about canon, and never will care about canon. im right the writers are wrong. carry on.

SIDNEY PRESCOTT: idc about canon but I do think sidney from scream 1 had a good room for her character. she held onto her youth because of what happened to her mom, slept with stuffed animals and had more ‘child like’ room (in the barest of senses ok). I wish she had more posters and things that showed it was an actual bedroom lol. Sid is super neat so she has everything laid out exactly how it needs to be and she fucking hates when it gets messy. The color scheme is pale green and off white with splashes of pink in there. It gives off a very Pinterest vibe if you know what im saying. she has a big bookshelf and its the messiest thing about her room, her books are the one thing she can never keep straight

TATUM RILEY: OKAY i loved her room!!!! like it screams Tatum you know??? She wouldnt have a set theme and instead would just grab stuff that she felt look good together. lots of mix and matched furniture pieces, no real set color scheme either. Tatum is 1 billion percent a collector, she finds it fun go to garage sales and thrift shops and find something to bring home. she’d unironically have one of those sexy leg lamps or a lamp of a tit and pull it off like,,,, but she’d have space for some dog toys + a dog bed (even though her dog sleeps with her) because shes a dog person and yall can’t tell me she’d ever stop her dog from chilling in her room. Her shit is messy too but in a way that doesnt feel overwhleming. she’s also into fashion so she has a bunch of spare fabric and sewing stuff tucked away in the corners of her room (heres a mini example of what i think her room would look like heheh)

RANDY MEEKS: randy my beloved <3 so he is in the middle of being messy and neat. he honestly doesnt focus on cleaning too much but tends to naturally put his things away in the same places each time. he has carpeted floor and prefers it to wood flooring because lets get real, my man is a floor sitter!!! you walk in his room randomly and 8/10 times hes sitting on the floor doing something random hehe. his closet door is always open and has clothes pouring out of it, tons of empty hangers from when hes trying to figure out what to wear and then being too lazy to hang them back up. he never makes his bed unless his mom stops him in the morning and is like “Mf..... go fix ur bed <3″ he has a super bright color scheme in terms of furniture and clothing but not by choice, his mom was like ‘no you cant paint ur walls black.... lets choose this beautiful light grey as a compromise’ bc shes a queen. he has a chalkboard wall that he writes little reminders on (so he would stop using so many sticky notes) and he has a bunch of super old drawings and shit from the group from over the years that he refuses to get rid of <3. the neatest area of his room is his desk area because he needs a clear place to study or else he wont. he also has all of his film and script stuff here and it was sososoos expensive and took him a long time to get it (with allowance/bday/holiday money as well as being gifted some stuff from relatives) that he is taking care of it like a damn baby. hes a bit of a fashion geek too so he has a sewing machine and fabric stuffed somewhere in there to use. Unfortunately he def has some random trash around and he gets so insanely embarrassed if someone comes over and he’s like haha.... thats been here for like a day.... when in reality it was a month (ok enough about his room i could talk for so long im insane)

BILLY LOOMIS: billy is neat idc about what anyone says. so his room is sterotypically a ‘bad boys’ room, lots of dark colors and movie/band posters covering every inch of the wall, even a little guitar in the corner with an amp. but if you actually took a second to look youd see that everything is super meticulously placed and rarely ever changes. no clothes on the floor, they always end up in the hamper when dirty or in the closet/his dresser when clean. AND GOD HIS DRAWERS they’re so neat he knows how to fold a damn shirt lemme tell yall that!!!! under his bed in a little lock box that stu gifted him (its originally for schweed but he got a newer one for that0 is all of his stuff in relation to the killings minus the costume which is in the very back of his closet under a box of his moms stuff. youd expect his room to smell like man and for the most part it does (it smells like his cologne) but under it is a hint of perfume and its his moms :,( he has a bottle of it that she left and sprays it on his pillow or on one of her sweaters when he really misses her. inside is also old letters and notes from his mom that she’d write him (like ‘i love you have a good day’ notes from when he was in elementary school and she packed his lunch) and he planned on getting it tattooed on him eventually. he has that guitar, it’s a dark blue because that’s Stu’s fave color but he rarely plays it, he has a flute under his bed and hes a fucking god at it. stu and randy are the only ones who know about it/that he can play because they all got high together and randy found it when he was looking for his shoelace and they convinced billy to play <3. his desk is neat as well but he just has a lot of stuff up there that it looks messy. think this bedroom

STU MACHER: we all know stu is messy it’s just a fact. his room is fucking chaos on a normal day but when he was younger it was always super clean because of the nannies he had went and cleaned up for him. after he hit 16 though he told them that his room was off limits because he really just wanted a place that was His TM you know what i mean?? he wanted someplace untouched by others and that was his room. the door on his closet is off and propped up against another wall, he doesnt have drawers (minus a clear three shelf one he got) because my baby has ADHD and if he cant see it it doesnt exist. he and billy painted his door with random shit on one side and he saved the other side for tatum, randy, and sidney to do stuff without disturbing billys ‘vision’. his desk is super messy and he kinda has shit thrown all about his room with tons of stuff he doesnt even use anymore because what if he needs this third grader report card one day :((( hes a sentimental little guy even if he doesnt say it. the wall by his headboard is covered in polaroid's of anything and everything; vacations he’s gone on, outings with the group, his nannies, stray animals, old pets, murals he saw on the street, billy (lots and lots of billy) etc etc. he also doesnt have a set theme or aesthetic for his room, just whatever he thinks is cool. he has a big vinyl and cd collection by his vanity which is covered in jewelry. lots of necklaces and rings, a few makeup items tatum gave him or that she left behind, as well as a big box of bottle caps bc he collects them hehehe. he has like three posters on the wall and all of them are signed by whatever band it is bc rich boy privileges babey!!!! its not his room but in his house in the basement he has a little music section with drums and shit and he goes down there whenever hes pissed or cant sleep because it wears him out. he has a bathroom attached to his room and its jsut as messy as the room, towels and old clothes everywhere lol

MICKEY ALTIERI: this man has a bare mattress on the floor fr, no box spring or anything. youre lucky if he has sheets on it. ok but fr he doesnt really care what his room looks like because he is rarely fucking there! he goes out so often he really only comes home to sleep (on occasion if you know what i mean ;) heheheo) and shower. he keeps it fairly clean but its kind of like a show house, you know what i mean? like when people are selling houses and they have furniture and stuff in the rooms to show what it could look like??? thats his room. obviously he has film stuff everywhere and tons of fucking tapes (he records everything its annoying) and he refuses to get rid of any of the tapes. he has a very extensive supply of hair gel and face wash..... the mans gotta look good you know?????

HALLIE MCDANIEL: number one im in love with her number two her room would be so gorgeous. she has such a good eye for design (interior designer alert) and her space feels very open and fresh. hgtv has NOTHING on her !!!!!! yellow and lavender are her fav colors so she has a bunch of stuff matching that and somehow she makes the colors work together! her desk is the biggest thing besides her bed in the room because she has to do blueprints for rooms and stuff for class and needs the space. she’s also a wittle bit of an artist and mainly paints and gifts people them or hangs them up. she has one of sid, one of randy and mickey, and a self portrait hanging up in front of her desk and it makes her smile everytime she looks at it <3. she maximizes her space and keeps it free of clutter but she has so many shoes it really rivels randy i stg (they also share the same shoe size that means nothing really but i want to mention it) she also likes woodworking and she MADE HER FUCKING DESK YALL!!!! WITH HER BARE HANDS!!! SHES HOT

DEWEY RILEY: oh dewey <3333. scream 1 dewey had a very uniform room, reflecting the way he wanted to be seen at the station. very minimal decorations and he did whatever he could to be ‘adult,’  so he actually hated spending time in there :( now after scream 1, he said fuck it! im gonna do what i want!!! and he started to buy little things to add to his room. like a little elephant trinket he found that he thought was cute one day, a cool painting the next. ignoring the way scream 5 dewey lived bc fuck that! (no spoilers obviously im not cruel) but after he moves into his own place he goes all out, choosing whatever his little heart desired. tatum, sid, and randy all made/bought him something as a house warming gift and he literally never gets rid of them bc hes so sentimental. he would for sure get a bright pink couch if he wanted it without a single care <3333 he also has stolen stuff from tatums room to keep in his place to remind him of her and when she first came over she noticed and never said anything and would sometimes ‘accidently’ leave stuff over there and never bring it up

Neil Gaiman’s variety of the dead author principal is that once canon ends, the story belongs to those that consume and engage with it. That’s... also literally the theme of supernaturals final season. Anyway I really recommend you read up on death of the author and Neil Gaiman’s takes on fanon. It’s a fun way to consume your media, and in the end that’s what I’m here for.
