every time i remember that gifset of daniel laughing and talking pre-race with max and his dad in spa 2014 and realize that max saw daniel win his third race and red bull's 50th race live and IN PERSON....like daniel must have seemed so cool and larger than life. and then come to find out a few weeks later it's max's test and he had made a welcome video for him. like...it's too much they're TOO MUCH.

This response got ludicrously long.

It’s such “fated to be in each other’s lives forever” shit. It’s always been Max and Daniel. In 2011, before Max was even a red bull junior. In 2014 at spa, ahead of Max being announced for toro rosso. In video form at his super license drive, when Max being his future teammate wouldn’t have even been thought in Daniel’s mind. The things Max got to see Daniel achieve and dream that he might have that and more, and the hot guy doing it is paying attention to him.

He wins that race and backs him, saying he couldn’t have done what he’s about to do and saying Max has the talent to be there… I just know it was good to hear that the man you just watched on the podium believes you deserve this oppprtunity. And if he wasn’t ready at your age and is sitting in front of you a three time winner, what can you achieve by his age?

Obviously, Max has never needed other people’s validation on his skill. He knew he could be successful and had no issue staring his naysayers down. He’s a cactus, not a delicate orchid. You cannot kill him. Your opinions mean nothing to him if you are not in his inner circle (though Daniel certainly worked his way into being someone whose opinion Max holds, hears, and values).

But still, it has to be nice to hear back then that there are people with achievements you want who believe you’re capable of getting there. Even the most brave-faced sixteen year old (with a father who tries to toughen his emotional resolve by saying he will never be anything more than a truck driver) still appreciates having someone believe in him, even if he doesn’t need the validation.

I think people tend to wrongly characterize young Max as some delicate friendless loser and Daniel was the only person to ever show him kindnesses etc etc etc. Max is extremely confident and never relied on Daniel to build self-worth or whatever pathetic way people try to write him. But he always just glowed around him — textbook of that first crush that makes you have the italics “oh. oh” moment. It’s very apparent that Daniel meant a lot to Max as a teammate and that the two of them just liked being around each other, such an anomaly for that era of f1 (ex: like they mentioned in on the sofa 2017, Lewis, — who had been busy with the life altering downfall of his relationship with Nico — was in awe of Max and Daniel and asked for the scholarship of how they got along so well).

It’s so clear that this draw between them started for Max so early from just the way he looks at Daniel on that phone, shy and not knowing quite what to say, and his gaze lingering on it even after it stops playing with that smile. He has to tear his attention away to say his sweet little praise of Daniel. Daniel respected Max as a serious competitor from day one with his quotes about Max’s talents, and that already meant something to Max — but then he also went ahead and liked Max and was kind to Max in a time where he was drenched in doubters.

It’s a great tragedy that we will never know what it would’ve been like to see the two of them in a car that could compete for championships. Obviously tensions would have altered their relationship (I mean, the Renault engine frustration and natural increase in rivalry as it became Max’s team already meant their relationship improved post-leaving), but I’m going to be delusional and think that they never could have hated each other in that bone-deep way because they like each other in a way that is so natural that it feels encoded in their DNA.

Things would have gotten messy as competitive battles do, with many a wall punched and inflammatory quotes in the media pen — especially as Daniel would have to reckon with the inevitability of Max being a generational talent whose already sharp elbows in their early days only doled out more hits on the road to WDC. It’d be claws out, teeth bared tension.

Still, I employ my delusion to say that in that universe, at the end of their careers, they could sit on Daniel’s farm and still enjoy being around each other — like Daniel said in 2019, they had a heated rivalry and pushed each other, but there was always respect. At the end of the day, Max has never stopped looking at Daniel outside the track with anything but effusive love, and Daniel is always there looking back with his mouth open and ready to make Max laugh — and I genuinely believe they would have cared enough about each other to keep their fight contained to the environment and time period and rebuild anything lost when it’s all said and done.

Yeah ok let's talk about Nico Rosberg:

Here's how I view it. One of your best friends from childhood isn't like you. He's black in a sport that doesn't give space to anyone that's not White European, he doesn't come from money, he's in fact struggling to even travel to competitions, and he's good.

He's so good that you and your world champion father are so sure he will be in F1. You get there first but that next season he's in McLaren and he's second.

Then he's first.

You're thrilled for him. He's your best friend. He's talking about how he wants to change the world, and even then you know he doesn't just mean racing, he means the world.

Then in 2013, you're together. Michael Schumacher is gone, and you're first driver and you know Lewis and you could change the world. Sebastian wins, again, but the future feels bright.

In 2014, the car is competitive. No, it's a winner. You know you're capable, it's in your blood. You know Lewis is capable, he's done it before.

Then, Jules crashes. Everyone holds each other a little tighter. Lewis wins, but there is less jealousy and more knowing that it can be done.

Then, Lewis wins again. The team orders are killing you. You know you're capable, but Lewis is better. That's what everyone tells you. He's better, he's faster, and this boy that you have known your whole career, this man who is your closest friend, is also the scale by which you are measured.

And you snap. You have to win. It is in your blood. 2016 is vicious. The world watches as you both throw hats and towels and words in different tongues. Lewis doesn't back down, but in the end, it is not enough.

You win. And then you walk away. You have the title, have lost the friendship, and you have changed.

"we're not friends" is the quote that follows you for years. He runs away when you go for an interview. He doesn't say your name. You don't either.

"Are you a better driver than you were in 2016?" "yes. and teammate." Live and in stereo right in your face.

Something changes after that. You live in the same building, and you sometimes ride the elevator together, but the awkwardness is not there, not like it was. He is kind to your children, the ones who would have called him Uncle Lewis. He sends them Christmas gifts.

You heal your heart and your friendship. You see that even at 40 and seven world championships, the boy you knew still has to prove himself. He still fights every day to change the world. Except now that he's got the platform, people are far harsher than they used to be. Every initiative is met with backlash, every comment taken out of context.

So you resolve to talk about him. You talk about his skill and his talent. You talk about how Ferrari is lucky, how Lewis had always wanted to wear red, who didn't? You talk about how he still drives like he's hungry, hunting, and you don't stop.

Because more than anything, you remember that little kid who no one talked to because he didn't look like everyone else. And the people with the same platform as you still continue to try and isolate him, bring him down, halt change in its footsteps.

Lewis wants to change the world. So do you. You have looked at the environment, the women who want to race, and children like Lewis who had to fight to get anywhere. So you talk and you talk and you talk, because advocacy can be subtle, it can be through talking about how someone is so talented, how they deserve everything they have. It can be about how age doesn't preclude you from talent. It can be about how women in sport are going to be the future. You say it out loud, because you can.

Love is a difficult master, but it is with you always. You love the sport, you love your family, you love your friends and the things you have done together.

Wouldn't you rise to the defense of someone you love and respect?

Part I: Before

Nico is not jealous that Lewis is a championship contender in his first season in F1. Lewis has always had to work hard for the things that Nico has with ease: recognition, support, community. Racing might have been in Nico’s blood but Lewis bled for racing and all he could feel for his best friend was proud.

Anyway, he was busy, too. Working with Williams, trying to build the historic team back up to its former glory, while also trying to prove that he’s a serious racer worthy of a championship car and not just riding the coattails of his father’s success in the sport.

Then Lewis wins a championship. It is the greatest moment of Nico’s life, probably third only to his own future championship or his wedding day. Lewis seems to have everything he wants at McLaren and Nico would have considered going with him there, being teammates like they always planner, if McLaren had wanted anything to do with him.

Instead, he is offered a deal at Mercedes, a team that people don’t think is going anywhere, but if they’re good enough for Micheal Schumacher then of course they are good enough for him. Playing second fiddle to a championship winner isn’t as hard as it sounds. If Lewis could do it, so could Nico, even if he didn’t get nearly as much recognition for it.

Though neither of them are getting much attention at the moment, what with Red Bull and Vettel totally dominating. Nico thinks Lewis is more upset about it than he is, having to listen to more than a few rants on the subject. He tries to be supportive, but it’s hard when Nico is so happy. He’s a racer in Formula 1 with his best friend, competing against certifiably the greatest F1 driver of all time. The only thing that could make it better is if he was competing against Lewis or for a championship. Or competing against Lewis for a championship.

That really would be the dream.

But Lewis loves McLaren, and even if they aren’t in fighting shape right now, that doesn’t mean they won’t be soon. And even if Lewis was considering leaving, he wouldn’t come to Mercedes of all places. He’d probably go to Ferrari as long as Fernando wasn’t there.

Nico uses all these reasons and more to keep himself from getting his hopes up when Micheal announces his retirement. When Lewis admits to him his frustration with McLaren. When Toto tells him that he’s been in talks with someone he “thinks you’d get along great with, Nico.”

He continues to rationalize it all the way up to when Lewis shows up at his apartment, using his key and announcing his presence with a loud “Rosberg!” and the sudden brute force of someone colliding with him.

“Oof.” Nico flops back into the couch, halfway up from where he’d tried to get up to greet Lewis. He pushes at the other boy, feeling like they were 12 again, wrestling in their hotel rooms.

“What you big bully?”

Lewis pulls back and grins, shark-like with a kind of kiddy glee.

“I’m coming to Mercedes.”

Part II: During

“I’m coming to Mercedes.”

A pause. Then, “Well, obviously, I’ve only been convincing Toto to sign you for the last year.”

George fully expects the pillow aimed at his head and dodges deftly. He and Alex are both grinning like fools, and George can see all his plans for the future start to unspool.

Lewis wins his 8th championship with Ferrari that first year, a feat only the man himself could have predicted. George is having too much fun getting paid to bully his best friend.

Next year though. Next year.

“This is a championship winning car, mate,” Alex says after the first day of testing. “I can feel it. Can you feel it?”

George swallows, the memory of how responsive the car had been that morning. Like writing a sonnet with a steering wheel.

“Yeah. I can feel it.”

It was a championship winning car. It won both championships that year, the Mercedes driver pairing ending up 1st and 2nd again after a long time. It was his first championship, and he deserved it, working so hard to prove himself out from under a world champion’s shadow.

George was so damn proud of him.

Watching Alex on the top step was like a dream, draped in the red-white-blue of his flag, doused in champagne and breathing heavy, as if he’d been holding his breath since the end of testing. Sure, it stung a little losing his own chance at a championship, but he’d put up a hell of a fight and he would again next year. George had no doubt that in 2027, he’d be the world driver’s champion.

Alex turned to him from the too step, wide smile and something devilish in his eye.

“Let’s do this again next year, George,” he said, somehow agreeing with everything George himself had been thinking. George grinned in return and could only shout an affirmative.

And they did do it again next year. Two championships, one-two, podium steps and drenched in champagne.

George looking up. Again.

Alex was a terrific driver. George knew it because he’d been there while Alex learned how to do it. How to win. George knew how hard Alex was to beat because he’d watched him climb further and further away from second place.

Maybe that’s why it was always going to end up this way. Alex had made himself unbeatable and only George was there to see all of it. That’s why it only could have been him that saw the chink in the armor of Alex’s driving.

George had won. He was on the top step. He was the 2028 world driver’s champion.

And Alex wouldn’t look at him. Wouldn’t give him the big smile that use to come so easily to his face. When did Alex stop smiling? When did Alex stop smiling at him?

George had barely eaten the entire week leading up to Abu Dhabi. That didn’t stop him from spending hours emptying his stomach at the memory of Alex’s clenched jaw and shunted eyes.

That’s why-

“I’m retiring.”

Part III: After

“I’m retiring.”

The flash of the camera hurt his eyes. You’d think by 2034 they’d have made cameras that weren’t so earth shatteringly bright.

It wasn’t a decision Logan had made lightly. He was the first American WDC since Andretti, he had the chance to be the only repeat American winner. Except there wasn’t really a chance. This season had taken everything Logan had and he’d still just barely been able to beat out Oscar. He couldn’t do it again and he didn’t want to try.

It wouldn’t get him his best friend back.

The story was old hat by now. The Mercedes curse. You’d think after Alex and George Toto would stop hiring childhood best friends as teammates. But the opportunity to sign the current WDC Oscar Piastri had been too good to pass up. He had three under his belt, now, definitely more after this, since he wouldn’t have Logan here to make it harder for him.

But it was a classic tragedy. Everyone knew the ending by now. The former-Williams driver gave their entire soul for that one championship, just to show that they could do it. Then the real winner went off and grew into the phenom they were always supposed to be. Now without the dead weight of their best friend hanging onto him.

They’d sworn it wouldn’t happen to them. They’d both worked so hard to keep the resentment from boiling over. But the threat of being dropped if Logan got another P2 in the championship had been the straw that broke the camel’s back. It hadn’t been Oscar’s fault that the team had decided to shift to him after all Logan had given them. But that didn’t mean Logan could let it go, either.

Now there were landmines around their relationship. Both too scared to reach out because of the chance of stepping on one and burning down everything they’d built. So the silence and the distance stretched and the structures crumbled anyway.

Logan moved back to America. He wasn’t going to be Nico, sitting in the same apartment, all but begging Oscar to come back to him on live tv. He wasn’t going to be George, reaching out every other year just to feel the rejection all over again. He might have been doomed to leave Oscar like this from the beginning but that didn’t mean he didn’t get to choose what he did with the rest of his life.

He was 34. He was still in top shape. He didn’t want to stop racing. He just couldn’t race Oscar anymore.

Logan did IndyCar for a couple of years, ending up next to Kyle again. Somehow losing the championship to him wasn’t as hard as losing to Oscar had been. In 2036, he retired for real this time, no other championship but at least a few wins under his belt.

He pretended not to be invested in F1. But he couldn’t not watch the races. Couldn’t not see Oscar win his fourth championship, then his fifth.

Logan wonders if he’ll go for nine, just to kick fate’s balls.

In the end, Logan can’t say no when Williams invites him to a couple of races. They’re the team that supported him when no one did and he can’t refuse James anything.

When Sky Sports here he’s coming, they beg to have him on. He reluctantly agrees.

When Oscar wins in Miami, Logan is there. There are so many cameras on him as he watches his ex-best friend win Logan’s home race. All he can think is that it was always going to end this way.

Part 2 of cunty Williams Racing, a tired and shitty analysis by yours truly, Cake.

Today, we dive into our former Williams drivers.

And who better to start off with than Jenson Button himself? He's technically in the team as a Heritage Driver, and senior advisor regarding both the F1 race and Williams academy drivers, but we'll ignore that for the sake of this tumblr post ☺️

Jenson Button is just a cunty British man and this is not foreign knowledge. He coined the name Britney for Nico Rosberg due to his hyper sexual fixation on Britney Spears (or so I'm told 😀) and, let's be honest, there's not a lot of explanation needed here (I say after a whole paragraph).

Next, of course, Nico Rosberg himself.

My guy beat his teammate, albeit not in Williams, in equal machinery for the world championship and then dipped to be a girl dad. A Girl Dad. And he became a reporter. A F1 reporter. Cunty af in every picture too. Just can't deny this man.

You know who the other Nico to drive for Williams is? Nico Hülkenberg!

Also a girl dad, dyed his already blond hair to be platinum blond, HulKENberg, got one of the last pole positions for Williams after they hadn't had one in 5 years and then was dropped at the end of the year and he came back after a year. Sure, he is allergic to podiums but may I remind you that this man is a 24 Hours of Le Mans winner?

Next, everyone's favorite, George Russell. Should not be a surprise, really.

It's George Russell! What am I supposed to say? His doe eyes and now ungelled hair should be enough of a reason. And he's an absolute diva 🤍.

Now, what's more cunty than getting all the older men around your finger, Lance Stroll?

Lance Stroll has the hips to be the cunty princess he is, let's admit it. His first season he scores his first points in Canada and then gets third place in the race right after? And, as previously mentioned, he has all the middle aged men of the paddock in love with him. Fernando Alonso, Checo Pérez, Sebastian Vettel, the list goes on.

Ignoring team orders and getting a race win? That's some cunt level activities from Mark Webber!

Mark Webber will have a pilots license and manage to get 2 different cars to fly into the air 4 times. Yes 4 as twice was in a RedBull and twice in the Mercedes during the 1999 Le Mans. And then he looks absolutely hypnotized by his teammates and fellow drivers. It's the Australian in him.

A little break here to say, oh my fucking god there's so many drivers I can do. I can have Valtteri Bottas or Pastor Maldonaldo or Felipe Massa or Ralf Schumacher or Nicholas Latifi or like, anyone really. Anyways, let's continue ☺️

The man who sighed a picture of him after his team dropped him, Nyck de Vries.

Points your debut race and then getting pulled out the car like the princess you deserve to be, it's beautiful. And oh yeah, his name is Hendrik Johannes Nicasuis "Nyck" de Vries and I think that's very fitting. I hope he's enjoying Formula E because I'm going to buy into temptations and go to a race just to see my short princess 🤭.

Oh, you think I forgot the Queen herself, Susie Wolff? YOU ARE WRONG!!! 🥳🥳

I love Susie Wolff. Former Williams development driver and definitely could've been a great driver today if she was on the grid. And, she's president of the F1 Academy and defeated the FIA's little investigation probe which is funny because a lot of FIA executives have been quitting now soooo go Susie!!! Everyday I wonder how Toto Wolff got lucky to be her husband, the queen's husband ☺️

Summary: Your boyfriend Baron cheats on you with Tiffany Stratton who is coming after you and your title. You find comfort and in a deal with someone you least expected.

In the ring grabbing a mic from one of the helpers, the crowd is cheering for me.

"Well what's up everyone?!"

The crowd cheers louder for me. I smile looking down at my NXT women's title around my waist.

"Well I am out here to talk to you guys about me and this championship. There is a couple ladies in the back that deserve to have championship matches. Than there is some, like Tiffany Stratton, who think they can just cut the line and be first to get a title shot. But, ya know what?! I don't care! I'll fight anyone and everyone! I will fight for this championship until I can fight no more! I will....."

I get cut off by Tiffany's music playing and her coming out. I roll my eyes and huff seeing her. She stays on the entrance ramp and I lean against the ropes looking at her.

"Y/N. Y/N. Y/N. No one cares. I am going to take your title from you. Just like I took something else from you."

I look at her with a confused look and she points to the jumbotron. There is a video from Tiffany's phone of her bathroom in her locker room with her behind the shower curtain. A man walks infront of the camera with familiar tattoos and my heart breaks seeing it.

"Baron. You coming?"

"Of course baby!"

He climbs into the shower with his boxers on than takes them off throwing them over the top of the shower. They start giggling and the video cuts off. A tear rolls down my eye looking up at Tiffany on the ramp. Baron's music hits and he comes up next to Tiffany and puts his arm around her. He grabs the mic out of her hand and looks at me standing in the middle of the ring.

"Y/N. You were a terrible girlfriend. You are a useless champion. And soon, my new girlfriend, is going to be the real champion of NXT. The champion we really need for NXT. Good luck being single and alone."

He laughs, tosses the mic on the ramp and heads to the back with Tiffany. A couple more tears roll down my face as I climb out of the ring. Someone's music hits and a chair is being pushed out onto the entrance ramp. I start walking up the ramp and this person gets out of their chair walking towards me. I stop looking at him realizing it is Lexis King. He walks towards me, blows me a kiss than continues walking towards the ring. I shake my head and walk to the back.

"What was that about?"

I think to myself walking to my locker room. I walk in closing the door behind me and lock it. I take my championship off my waist and put it on the coffee table sitting down on the couch. I turn the TV onto NXT watching Lexis King battle Brooks Jenson. I wipe my tears away and start packing up my stuff. Lexis gets the win, points at the camera and blows a kiss again. I shake my head grabbing my stuff.

"Was that for me?"

I think to myself again as I finish packing up my stuff. I start walking out of my locker room when my phone buzzes and a random number texts me.

"Meet me in the back of the parking lot. Black Cadillac Escalade."

I make a confused face than look up seeing Baron and Tiffany walking out of his locker room together and decide to walk the other way before they see me. I get to my car loading up my bags when a car flashes their lights at me. I look around the parking lot seeing only one car, the Black Cadillac Escalade, sitting in the back of the parking lot with the lights facing me. I close my trunk and walk around to the driver's side opening the door. The lights start flickering at me again and I sigh closing my door. I lock my car and walk over to the car trying to look inside but can't because the windows are tinted. The driver gets out and opens the back door for me. I smile slightly climbing into the car. I sit down on the seat feeling an arm go around my neck. The light comes on and I lock eyes with Lexis King again. I gulp looking at him and he wipes the back of his fingers along my cheek and jaw looking into my eyes.

"Y/N. You are a beautiful human being. You don't deserve a loser like Baron. Maybe you should be with a King."

He grabs my hand and puts it on his chest. I look at him with my jaw dropped. He smiles and slightly laughs.

"Y/N. I mean it. Me and you could get revenge on Baron and Tiffany. Make their lives a living hell. Make them jealous. We can become the rockstars of NXT."

"Is this a business deal? Or what?"

"Well I have a crush on you but I knew you were with that piece of shit so I kept my distance. But now that he proved he is a piece of shit, I thought I would shoot my shot."

I look over at him admiring his beautiful curls and slightly smile.

"Ya know what King? You got a deal. One, I'd love to get some revenge on Baron and Tiffany. Second, I'd love to be your girlfriend."

He smiles leaning over, grabbing my face and kisses me hard. I put my hand on the back of his neck and kiss him hard back. I run my fingers through his hair as we continue to kiss. He pulls back looking into my eyes smiling.

"You dont know how long I have been waiting to do that. It felt like years."

I giggle looking into his eyes. He looks back at me smiling.

"I wouldn't mind you doing it again."

"Oh yeah?"

He pulls me onto his lap wrapping his arms around my waist. I giggle putting my arms around his neck. I lean down kissing him again. He grips my sides up kissing me back. We continue making out for about 20 minutes before he pulls back looking at me.

"Let's continue this next week."

I climb off of his lap looking at him. I shake my head yes and the driver opens the door for me. I climb out and fix my shirt a little. I smile and walk over to my car opening the driver's door. I get in and fix my hair in the mirror. I sigh starting my car heading back to my hotel.

*a week later*

I pull into the parking lot and get out going to the trunk to grab my bags. Kelly Kincaid walks over to me with a camera crew.

"Y/N. Could we ask you a few questions?"

"Sure! Is this live right now?"

I point to the cameras and the camera guy shakes his head yes. I blush not realizing I was a little late coming in. I fix the bandana on my head kinda looking like Lexis.

"Y/N. So about Baron and Tiffany last week, what are your comments?"

"My comments? Kelly. Please. If Baron wants to cheat on me with Barbie, she can have him. She's all plastic anyways."

"Also do you care to explain what happened after NXT last week? There is a video going around of you entering and exiting a black car on the parking lot."

I look at her with a shocked face. She shrugs her shoulders looking back at me.

"Well Kelly. Since people have to be so noisy, I was making a deal with someone."

"Who?"

I go to speak but I get hit in the back of the head. I fall forward dropping my bag on the ground. I get gripped up by my hair.

"I told you Y/N! I told you to watch your back! I will take everything from you!"

She drags me by my hair over to my car and slams the back of my head against the car. I scream and lift up my arm grabbing the back of my head. She grabs my right arm, puts her foot on my forearm keeping it straight and slams the car door into my arm. I scream pulling my arm to my chest holding it with my other hand. She takes my title belt out of my car, holds it up against the side of my cheek and gets close to my face.

"This will be coming home with me soon."

She stands up laughing than throws the belt at me. Security guards come running over getting her away from me. Shawn Michaels kneels down next to me while I start crying holding my arm. The camera guys cut out and leave.

"Medics! Get the medics here dammit!"

I lean against my car holding my elbow when the medics come running over. They check me out for a couple minutes.

"Looks like it's just a bruised elbow. Put this ice pack on it for about 20 minutes. Try putting ice on it like 3 times a day until the swelling goes down. You should be okay in a week or so."

"Thank you."

I take the ice pack and put it on my elbow. Shawn puts a hand on my shoulder and I look over at him.

"No match tonight or next week. We will figure something out. Promise."

He pats my shoulder than leaves back into the building. I try standing up but am having a hard time. I sigh than see a figure running over to me. I look up seeing Lexis running over.

"Y/N! Honey what happened?!"

"I got jumped by Tiffany and now I have a bruised elbow and won't have any matches for two weeks."

I put my hand out and he grabs it helping me stand up. I hold the ice against my elbow looking at him. He looks back at me smiling.

"It will be okay honey. I promise. I think I have an idea from this."

"Really? Let's hear it."

"First let me grab your bags. Than we can go inside and talk about it."

He walks over grabbing my bags out of the trunk. He walks over, closes my driver door and looks down at the back door.

"Did she slam your head into the car?"

"No I did that myself."

"Oh and your funny. Knew there was a reason I liked you."

We laugh and head inside to his locker room.

*3 weeks later*

I walk down the hallway towards my locker room when I hear talking around the corner. I stand behind the corner listening hearing Baron's voice talking with Carmelo Hayes.

"Have you seen the way Y/N has been dressing lately? These crazy shirts, leather jacket, bandanas? Like what even is that?"

I look down at my clothes and make a disgust face towards their words.

"Dude. I don't know what happened to her. Thank God she isn't my problem anymore though."

I roll my eyes and walk back to my locker room. Nobody knows I am here getting ready to get back in the ring. I haven't been seen since Tiffany hurt my arm. I start hearing some yelling coming from the hallway so I open my door peeking my head out.

"Don't touch her. Don't ever touch her."

Baron is getting in Lexis' face and he isnt backing down. Tiffany is standing next to Baron trying to push him back. The camera man is facing them getting the promo.

"Ya know what King?! Find yourself a female partner tonight. Because it's gonna be me and Tiffy against you and whoever you can find."

"Good luck loser."

They both walk away and Lexis starts walking my way seeing my head poking out of my room. He smiles seeing me.

"Honey! What are you doing here?"

"Well seems like you need a female tag partner tonight. I'm here to help."

"You got cleared?!"

He walks into my locker room closing the door.

"I got cleared this morning!"

He picks me up hugging me. I wrap my legs around his waist hugging him back. He sets me down looking at me.

"Go get ready and I will be in gorilla waiting for you!"

He kisses my cheek and walks out of the locker room. I grab my bag and head to the bathroom to change into my new ring gear I got to match Lexis'. (The black and orange gear.)

Baron and Tiffany are in the ring talking on the mic about how Lexis is a loser and he won't find anyone to tag with him.

"Lexis is a loser and no one likes him!"

Me and Lexis are in the back waiting for our moment to go out. He kisses my cheek and I look over at him.

"Let's do this baby!"

I smile and he makes his entrance on his chair interrupting them in the ring. I watch on the TV smiling at him. Lexis continues sitting in his chair looking at them.

"Lexis! Who do you have as a partner? Cmon send em out!"

Tiffany throws the mic out of the ring and they both stand there looking at Lexis. He smirks and shrugs his shoulders. My music hits and the crowd roars with excitement. Baron and Tiffany start freaking out in the ring. I walk over to Lexis' chair and lean against it smirking up at them in the ring. Lexis' stands up, grabs my hand and we walk down to the ring together. We get in taking off our jackets getting ready for our match.

I clothesline Tiffany in the ring while Lexis is beating down Baron on the other side. I grab Tiffany and put her into a sharpshooter so she is facing Lexis hitting Baron with a corkscrew ddt. He pins Baron and gets the win. I drop Tiffany and she rolls out of the ring holding her leg. I jump into Lexis' arms and he stands over Baron with me.

"You lost this match. And you also lost this beautiful woman! Good luck loser!"

He kisses me putting his foot on Baron's chest. I put my hands on his face kissing him back. The crowd is cheering for us and I pull back smiling at him and the crowd. He puts me down and we roll out of the ring making our way up the ramp. We kiss again on the top of the entrance than make our way to the back. This could be the start of a beautiful partnership and relationship.

after a night of careful reflection i still believe lewis was not a 100% at fault irrespective of whether he has taken the responsibility for it followed by apology world tour or not. but there are clearly bigger issues here that this social media facade is just not able to hide and that worries me.

the treatment they're giving lewis is just shocking and unacceptable given what he brings to the table. even if i put aside the megastar status (which i'm not sure i should, considering they never shy away from using it for securing the bag and engagement), he is still their leading driver in the championship. he has scored 60% of the team's points and the only pole so far, in an effort for P2 in wcc. he is closing in on 2nd in the wdc despite being in the 3rd or 4th fastest car. by that logic alone he should never be subjected to all these shenanigans.

no matter which way you slice it, lewis is always the one with the short end of the stick. he is always the scapegoat. he is always the one taken for granted. he is the one covering up the clear mismanagement. instead of getting full support from the team he is the one out there assuring team harmony to the media, apologizing for a racing incident which it shouldn't have been considering he was the one who trusted the team and his teammate with whatever the fuck that tire strategy was and was the one who got dnf'd.

i know he will be the bigger person just to protect his peace and with constant target on his back no matter what he does, because god forbid a black man expresses himself the way his white counterparts do. i'm not asking for the sassy LH back either. all i want them to do is be fair. it's this glaring disparity they need to be ashamed of and sort out as soon as possible. well they've stolen his words "we win and we lose together" they might as well act like it. we've seen clear examples of the tone they're setting for this, especially after the two dnfs.

and lewis said that's my role. i just want to know what he meant by that? role in what capacity? is he the team principal now and taking the fall for everything? or has he signed on to be the team's punching bag with the new contract? i'm not being dramatic when i say this. his teammate dnf'd through his own fault & lewis got the podium and got silent treatment in return instead of celebration but when he dnf'd after the teammate disregarded previously agreed upon strategy, he's again the one getting gaslit into apologizing in front of the world instead? there has to be a way to explain this.

and i'm ride or die for him. i believe he can and should and will do whatever necessary to protect his sanity. maybe he's in too deep with that kumbaya shit and damn, good for him. full support to that. the question remains — why must he? i refuse to move on from every little thing by saying oh he is a better person than me. oh the sport doesn't deserve him. oh he has matured. oh it's not that deep. and by the way, his teammate can own up to his mistakes and see clearly in mirrors when it's any of the other 18 drivers so those excuses don't work for me. and no, replacing the teammate or bringing back valtteri will not sort this out. it's for mercedes and toto to decide and prove to lewis if his faith in them is justified? they have created this and they must sort it out.

this is about basic respect as a human being that this sport and fans have NEVER granted him. it's sad to see his team do it too. this is about reciprocity. has the team or teammate apologized to him for the recent fuck ups? no! but he does something slightly wrong and they're parading him on social media, making him apologize on camera, weaponizing his magnanimity against him to act like they forgive all his fucks ups?? and i'm supposed to sit in silence about this?

It's all about Ferrari winning the World Championship" because apparently there's a common idea where a lot of people think that "Ferrari should and would work for Hamilton to give him the 8th title". I think Jenson is spot on with saying that at Ferrari the team comes first, and Charles has been fed this with a spoon from Day 1 at FDA. That said, I firmly believe he threatened to leave after the Binotto/Silverstone debacle, and Ferrari for once put their driver first.

And I may be completely delusional in this, but I am convinced that Ferrari hired Fred for Charles, so they can finally give him the team/car he deserves and he can become their first homegrown WDC. Being able to get Lewis was more a feather-in-their-cap type of move, if you ask me. Not saying Lewis is not an incredible asset to the team, but I strongly feel that Charles will still be the prince of everyone's heart in Maranello. It would be such a fairy tale, after all he has been through, for Charles to bring home the WDC for Ferrari. That man bleeds Ferrari!

Do I want to see Lewis get his 8th title with Ferrari? Yes. Do I want to see Charles get his 1st title with Ferrari before that? Also yes. Will there be competition between them on who gets preferential strategy? I would expect no less. a rant about the media narratives surrounding lewis, fernando and max

ok so ever since well, bahrain testing 2023 and the discovery that aston martin do indeed have a fast car (and more importantly, one which is faster than merc), the media have created the alonso ‘hype-train’, saying that this man is basically the third-coming-of-christ (let us not forget about the ‘great white hope’ himself who is the only one standing between nando and jesus himself, but i digress); example are aplenty, as the majority of formula 1’s posts on instagram, twitter etc. being about fernando and even sky making a cute little montage reminding people (who most probably have not watched nando’s glory days) that nando is in fact a two-time world champion, went through nearly all teams on the grid like a hot knife through butter, leaving a fire behind him Every. Single. Time. (you gotta respect the man at least for his ability to cause drama everywhere) and that this is not the first time he is not in a back-marker team.

And you can understand the hype to a certain extent...jeez, dude’s forty-one and races brilliantly with as much as fire as before; (disclaimer: as much as i can dislike the man, i can still recognise as a great racing driver, because you really would have to be blind not to see it); but there is a limit to it which i think has been crossed and it’s about deserving something…deserving a better team, deserving a third world championship, deserving to win races…

pray tell how exactly this third title ‘much-deserved’? and i fully understand media tactics, content creation, boosting engagement, clicks, likes etc. etc., it’s all part of the game, i know…but why is it that fernando is the one who ‘deserves’ it? Why is the media suddenly capable of using the narrative of ‘deserving’ in relation to someone like fernando alonso?

And why that narrative can never be present in relation to one lewis hamilton? The answer’s pretty easy, no? But it runs deeper…because the media don’t want to like lewis hamilton. they didn’t want him to win in 2021, that much is obvious if you rewatch literally any race from that season and listen to the narrative around him and max…the ‘dethroning’, the ‘young-pretender’ etc. the elements where all there, they were ready, waiting impatiently for the new champion, their new ‘face of f1’ (how’s that working out for them eh?) and when ad21 came about…which was even better for the show because the stakes were all that higher with the two of them on equal points…until of course, lap 57, it was all going slightly against the script, wasn’t it? But then they did their little rule-breaking, ‘human error’, whatever you want to call it and so what? max verstappen champion of the world.

lewis hamilton couldn’t afford to say anything. he couldn't because of who he is. And the media knew it. They would swallow him up like wolves. They would pounce on him, rip him up, mix him with dirt; and if they don’t do that (because he disappeared for a few months) they will sickly glorify his composure, his class, monetise his trauma etc. And we see it to this day…his silence was glorified; last year, sky f1 knew perfectly well what strategy to take; they’ve got their new champion; there’s no asterisk to that title- martin brundle (ironic you had to clarify that bud), or better yet say ‘move on’,‘it wasn’t that bad, just a mistake’, ‘you can’t change it’’, yeah because you wouldn’t like it to be changed, would you? You never wanted a black man to break that record, did you?

oh and also thank god lewis came back to the sport, and oh how amazing it is that merc built a shitbox of a car, so we can now again talk about how ‘he still hasn’t recovered from ad21’, let’s again use his trauma, say he’s finished, that he’s struggling, let’s make a mockery out of it all, yeah…and max, oh you know, he drives like a champion, he deserved that title, you win it over a season- martin brundle, again (it’s always the same suspects, isn’t it?)

He deserved it, here it is again. max verstappen deserved his titles (rule-breaking and cost cap breaches under the carpet); he’s a pure racer, you know. All he cares about is racing. He’s pure talent and passionate.

fernando alonso deserves his third title, apparently. He works hard. He empowers his team. He works well with his new, young teammate. He’s got the experience, the maturity and the talent. He’s the oldest driver on the grid, but he’s driving better than ever.

Lewis won’t get that because he’s alone as the only black man in this sport, which will continue to isolate him, belittle him, but also will use him. Lewis won’t ever get the alonso treatment. He won’t be willed on, cheered on, no. No, never.

it's literally 3 am in my country (Latam arise), the race finished at 2 am and that thing left me shaking. for real.

Charles deserved the win, and you can argue with the wall thank you. that was a brilliant drive (Ferrari's Pit Stops/Strategies: I despise you. Safety Car: I knew I disliked you after Abu Dhabi 2021, but you have decided to take my displeasure and hatred to the next level. so it'll be that then)

DRIVERS:

1. Charles Leclerc

The world may be unraveled and built again and I will still choose this man as my top driver. While admittedly at first I was captivated by his looks, I soon started genuinely enjoying this sport. Doing so allowed me to look into his story and by God is it something straight out of a book. His mentality to learn and remember everyone he's lost and fight for them while selflessly sacrificing himself for their wishes is something I couldn't fathom in a lifetime. And yet he does fight for himself and he does it viciously. He is one of the best, one of the only who I think with a competitive car could give Max a fight and win, and I need to see him spread his full potential. I am convinced that if this man doesn't win a World Championship then F1 is unachievable and Ferrari will destroy their own legend. You cannot just find another Charles Leclerc.

Also his dichotomy is insane. He's so chaotic it makes him incredibly entertaining.

If Charles Leclerc has one fan, it's me.

If Charles Leclerc has no fans, I'm dead.

2. Lando Norris

Admittedly I completely overlooked this man for about 2 months. Absolutely no second glance he wasn't interesting enough for me.

I repent for my mistake as he's consumed my waking days and nights. An absolute talent that stemmed from hard work. His second part of the season was to die for, I believe he as well, is one of the people that could fight Max for a championship. So young as well, and even if he managed to get there slowly because of his father, he tried to make it as realistic as he could. Staying a year just getting coffee orders while he's shaking in his boots for every interviews. A genuine sweetheart that deserves every good thing. I hate how self-critical he seems to be . He needs that win, he CAN win. In 2024 maiden victory for Lando Norris come on.

3. Max Verstappen

Everything, and I mean everything that this man has achieved, is deserved. Every win, every record broken, every championship was his. Because he is a generational talent, he is someone worthy. His past absolutely destroys me, especially seeing that he is in contact with his father still, but I can understand the way he thinks. Still what he went through in childhood is no excuse for the success he has now. This man is the sweetest, kindest person I've seen. He's grown so much over the years from what I can tell and he treats everyone so equally. From past temporary teammates, to rivals. A genuine joy to be around I want to give him a hug every day and tell him that he is special. Red Bull's second golden boy but also mine.

4. Oscar Piastri

At first glance, according to people I know, I look like this man. The bangs don't help, neither does the fact that I act similarly. However I will never complain if it means I can work hard and earn the success he's had in his first year in F1. When I say wow for him, I mean it. Showstopping performance. This man will be a Champion one day he has to. Absolute down to earth guy as well but I love when I see his competitive spirit shove its head between the calm walls. It's always the quiet ones and I'd know as I am one.

5. Alexander Albon

For fifth place I could've chosen a lot of people as I genuinely really like the current grid (with a few exceptions). But Alex is amazing. Truly believe that if you put him in a competitive car he'd bring miracles. He's put that Williams in places it never dreamed of driving around. One of the most talented drivers on the grid and his personality is to die for. So so nice and lovely genuinely.

RACES:

1. Las Vegas

I hated Las Vegas. Honestly still kinda do in a lot of aspects. But the race was the best. Charles definitely deserved that win and Max's penalty was too little, but a race is a race, it doesn't matter how you win it as long as you do. Charles' driving however was absolutely phenomenal. That overtake on Checo was borderline the most exhilarating thing I could ever feel. I was so shocked when I saw it, it took me a good 5 min to collect myself.

2. Singapore

While Carlos may not be on my list, the win he had in Singapore was well-deserved and amazingly iconic. I don't think I'll ever get over my confusion of hearing this mf say it's on purpose corresponding to Lando's DRS. that's the sexiest thing this man has done. That Carlando podium added extra years to my life. Their hugs and the champagne were the sweetest things ever. And Lando's pics from the podium were very um.......👁️👁️

3. Mexico

Very simple. Lando P17 to P5. Phenomenal driving. After the Austin GP disqualification. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton on the podium? Exactly what I wished for. Brought my boy back from the slump that's called the 2023 F1 season.

4. Qatar

Now to be clear, I hated Qatar. I will hate Qatar and I hate Qatar. It was absolutely inhumane and there should've been different precautions or the race time should've changed because I don't care that these drivers are trained, that was actual torture. So when I say Qatar as my 4th favorite, I mean the sprint race.

Oscar Piastri the man that you are and the man that you will be. Rookie season and won a Sprint race. I know you will be great and I cannot wait for your future.

I do dislike how they overshadowed his win with Max's championship. While I understand the celebration, he was going to celebrate at the end of the season as well. All in all, I'm happy for both of them.

5. Suzuka

My reasoning for this is even simpler. If you ever need to know my weak point, just look at the number of reoccurring driver things I have in my room. You will find an outstanding amount of Sebastian Vettels everywhere. On a shirt, in my phone, on my phone, on my wall and more to come. My reason for this is just his little bee project and how much I adored seeing him in his little corner waving his flags and the bee activity he did the day before. Everybody loves Sebastian Vettel. As they should.

RACES WATCHED: 12/22

Now I got into F1 during the summer break, which is the reason I wasn't able to see half of the races. However I am grateful purely because I don't think I could've experienced Charles Leclerc losing his grasp over the championship and Sebastian Vettel's retirement in 2022. That would've been my actual breaking point. And I saw a Max dominant season yes, however I saw half of it and most of the races were very entertaining still. I love Max too so.

TOP TEAM:

My genuine choices for this were McLaren, Red Bull and Williams.

I went for McLaren because of their amazing driver lineup, improvement over the second part of the season and really cool pit stops.

Red Bull however has been unbeatable and I will give them all the credit. The strategies, the pit stops, the wins, everything. Phenomenal

Williams grew on me quickly after Qatar. While the car may be frankly, shit, the team seems incredibly put together and I adore that they gave Logan a second chance. Also that they put the well being of their drivers first. James Vowles adopt me.

ok, so i got into f1 through dts in the past few years, and then stumbled across the brocedes rabbit hole recently. before that i didn't really know/like nico at all, because everyone made out like he was awful and obsessed with lewis. but i've just been watching the 2016 season, and not only is nico actually really nice (especially when he keeps being booed by crowds for literally no reason) but i have to say that i was shocked by how unreliable both mercedes cars were in that season. like, people make it out as though lewis' car was breaking down all the time and nico's was perfect, but in almost every race where lewis had car issues, so did nico. even watching the sky sports coverage (where they do talk almost non-stop about lewis and are definitely biased towards him), the number of times that they interview niki or toto going 'oh it was a perfect race for nico but car issues for lewis' and toto or niki say that actually both cars had issues is insane. also, people keep saying that nico would deliberately speak foreign languages in the cooldown room to exclude lewis (which im obviously not discounting), but in almost all of the cooldown rooms that they've shown for this season, it's just really awkward and quiet as they don't talk to each other, or anyone at all really. i feel like nico has just been done so dirty by everyone

i went through this exact journey of discovery too where I was like yeahhhh everyone hates this guy! boo 🍅🍅🍅 so I went looking deeper into why (so I can be an #informed hater) and then I was like HUH.... he's not the manipulative evil obsessed with lewis can't get over their past relationship dude he's portrayed in fanon or exacerbated by sky news. in fact he was well liked by the grid!!! he invited others on Air Rosberg so they could all go travel together. and don't get me started on The Narratives of it all. my man was getting booed at Silverstone or for beating lewis, and he was saying thank you to the fans... the tifosi booed him for winning Monza and he turned that around and made them sing with him!!! (and then kravitz called it embarrassing 😶)

the British sky coverage bias is SO real, and not do get me started on the crashes which are all framed as "Nico got envious and rammed into Lewis" and not the amount of times Lewis didn't leave enough space, or he was the one who caused it....... but I digress. the W-06s were kind of like the 2022 Ferraris where they were insanely fast but notoriously unreliable. fucking hell when Nico won the championship -- EVERYONE including his own team of Toto and Niki were talking about whether Lewis lost due to DNFs, and it took sebastian vettel to be like. hey. can we talk about Nico's deserved win tho?

lewis was asked if he thought the better man won and he said he didn't agree with that, and then when he retired was like "oh I'm not surprised, it's the first time he's won anything in 20 years." 🥴🥴🥴

every time someone learns more about nico over what's regurgitated about him they're always Huh... he's just some well meaning cringe dude... and not an evil mastermind 🤥 I do not discount that they've both hurt each other in ways we're not aware of, but everything that's publicly available means that's not our stance to take (hate a guy on Behalf of lewis cause he won't say his name)

now I don't blame fans -- how would you know about something that happened like 7 years ago now? and Lewis is very skilled at the narratives around him, he had a team that despite letting both drivers race was clearly behind him; and everything since DTS, fanon has been reinforcing the same narrative.

ultimately, nico won 2016 and lewis won the narrative.
