I've seen things after SOTUS extreme actor harassment, I've been here through BMF "hate watching flashmob" and you know what, this year I will actually stop tolerating BL fans (at least on tumblr) who don't even have the decency to just ignore things they don't like and who think bullying someone is a good fandom sport, and start calling out. No matter if you believe clickbaits or you're a proud member of celebrity witchhunt or just don't believe people and situations can change, whatever, I really don't want to see KristSingto hate if - when - they will come back with another BL series.
Peraya fans have been waiting and hoping for KristSingto reunion for years, they wanted it themselves for so long as well, and we've unfortunately encountered way too many people who don't use their braincells and who encourage others to follow their footsteps when making derogatory comments about (mainly) Krist or Singto who they don't even know about, or their shows. For years. Some even go to talk shit and laugh right at his face. What the hell.
Maybe don't ruin someone else's parade and don't turn a nice community lake into a swamp. If you consider yourself a good person who can have an opinion "I just don't vibe with this person/show", watch it unbiased, be open minded and if you don't have a full picture, ask fans of the actual story or do research and read proper compilations about him instead of blindly stacking your opinions on repeated echoed insults from yt and tiktok. And if you aren't willing to be open minded and rational, well, let the fans celebrate and stick quietly to your swamp.
It's really no fun to gather around to discuss something and slip on poop piles thrown around for no reason. What happened to civil discussions?

It’s really hard to buy into the lore and suspected messaging of the secret songs…idk I’m just disappointed and I can’t bring myself to care if Joe cheated and she’s hinting at it. I think dating a bigot so gleefully and openly is worse.

What I Say: I'm fine. What I Mean: There was a Star Trek Novel in which Tuvok and Jack Crusher (Beverely's Husband) have to go undercover in a bathhouse that they think is a brothel to get information out of a potential lead and because of a series of hijinks at one point must come to terms with the fact that they're definitely going to have to go into the boss's private room completely naked and might have to go even further than that to get the info they truly need. They were ready to go all in on that "I'm not gay but a mission's a mission" life.

Transcripts under the cut
[Image 1:
“We’re here to meet someone,” he said. “I was told that a Melacron named Pudris Barrh enjoyed visiting this establishment.” The alien smiled. “Oh, I see…you’re one of Barrh’s boys,” she remarked with a knowing lilt. Barrh’s boys? Crusher asked himself. What did she mean by that? He experienced a moment of alarm but kept his composure.
“If you can get past Old Scowly there,” the female continued, “you can join Barrh at his pleasures if you like." She raised a long slender arm and pointed to a gilded door to her right.] [Image 2:
“I don’t know for certain what kind of establishment this is,” said the commander, “but I can make a pretty good guess.”
“Unfortunately,” the Vulcan whispered back with sincere and undisguised revulsion, “so can I.”
"Still, we may have to go along with it.” Crusher regarded Tuvok. “Would that…pose a problem?”  “Naturally,” the Vulcan replied.
The commander grunted. “I was afraid you would say that.”
“And knowing what I do of human marriage customs,” said Tuvok, “I would imagine it would pose a problem for you as well.”
Crusher looked lost “Maybe we could just play along for some of it…for the sake of-”
“My master will see you now,” said Old Scowly. He had reappeared before the Vulcan knew it. “You may enter through the changing room, remove your clothes, and join Pudris Barrh at his pleasures.”] [Image 3:
As it happened, Tuvok wasn’t happy either. If he didn’t know better, he would have said that the uncomfortable sensation in the pit of his stomach was apprehension. Of course, that was impossible. His control over his emotions was impeccable. And yet the sensation remained.
“There must be another way,” said Crusher. “There is no other way,” the Vulcan told him. “This is the situation in which your plan has placed us.” He knew his words sounded biting, but he didn’t wish any of them back.
The human ran his hands through his thick, dark hair. “Damn it,” he said, “If Beverely ever…” “Find out about this?” the ensign suggested.
Frowning, Crusher nodded. “But as you say, there’s no other option open to us. I guess we’ll just deal with whatever comes as best we can.” He grunted. “The things we do for king and country.”] [Image 4:
When the air cleared for a moment - a byproduct of their entrance - the Vulcan was able to get a better look at their host. He was rather corpulent for a Melacron, it seemed, and more pale-looking than most.
As thick, sludgy ripples made their slow way outward from Barrh’s generous torso, he waved to Tuvok and Crusher. “Please, gentlemen, join me. We’ve not met yet, but there are few better places to get to know someone than in The House of Comfort!”
[Crusher] and Tuvok exchanged a quick glance. Taking a deep breath, the human walked up to the carpeted stairs and placed first one foot, then the other, into the hot, liquid muck.
The ensign had little choice but to follow suit. He assured himself, as he sank up to his chest in the thick, surprisingly pleasant-smelling stuff, that there was realy no logical reason T’Pel ever had to become acquainted with this misadventure.
Besides, he reflected, there was quite a good chance that the majority of his and Crusher’s actions would be classified. He had to confess that he found some comfort in the prospect.]
Bonus:
Tumblr media
Tuvok and Crusher apparently both go home and tell their wives about this experience. I don't know if we learn of T'Pel's reaction but Beverely apparently thinks its hilarious!

Would you be able to do a holdback wav? Or one where you announce?
thank you so much for the request!! i tried to hold back for as long as possible but it was So hard with how itchy i’ve been with my allergies lately. after about a minute it became impossible to hold back and i think all that building up i did made the sneezes that much harsher, because these were seriously some of the harshest sneezes i’ve ever recorded for a wav!
if you’re not into all the building up, i start sneezing around the 1:00 mark and continued (despite my best efforts, i swear) pretty steadily until the end

"adora was only truly happy with catra" maybe s5 tried to convince you that, but the rest of the show says otherwise.
hell, in the first two eps of spop, adora was at her happiest getting to eat good food, going to parties, seeing a horse for the first time... and funnily enough, adora never seems to think of catra in these instances. like "wow catra would love this". (though for some reason i remember that quick exchange where catra mocks adora for having a flower over her ear, and adora just tosses it away. maybe i'm going too deep here but it probably says a lot about their dynamic)
like i know it's a silly and quick montage but even then, adora never seems to remember catra in a positive light once they're separated. the only times adora mentions catra are out of guilt - she thinks she's responsible for pushing catra away even though she called catra to join her -, or out of fear, like in s2 when she has a panic attack bc of catra.
like adora was at her happiest when she didn't have to worry about catra. and can you even blame her?

Once I head someone say Sarah is the only really necessary or meaningful female character, and that Nazz and the Kankers are pretty much disposable; ''Nazz has no personality, and the Kankers are absent from 50% of episodes and are just a Diabolous ex-machina ending when they appear. The could work very well without any of them.''
What do you think of this?
are they implying that she's only "meaningful" because she's related to ed? because...yikes dog. sarah serves a pretty similar role to the kankers in that she foils the scams and pranks and acts as an obstacle and/or deterrent. an antagonist. but the way they fulfill the role and the reaction they get from the eds are different in ways that i'm too lazy to get into at the moment.
now i could genuinely be missing something because i've never taken a class on media analysis or whatever the fuck, but i truly don't get what people mean when they say nazz is uniquely lacking in personality. i'm not saying eene has excellent, fleshed out female characters, but some people act as if 1) any of the non-eds have highly complex personalities that are explored canonically 2) being kind, outgoing, flirtatious, sporty, etc. aren't personality traits. just because someone doesn't like her personality doesn't mean it doesn't exist. and we know just as much, if not more about nazz's interests than we do the kankers. or jonny: he likes wood, is laid back and seems to enjoy superheroes. or kevin: he likes bmx. he's a bully. he has a crush on nazz. he's buds with rolf, whose backstory we probably know the most about after the eds (maybe even more?). then there's jimmy who lowkey has a great, complex personality.
seems like since nazz is pretty, is into stereotypically "girly" things and is nice, people consider her a "bad" (female) character. which to me is hilarious and ironic. these are the same people who call the kankers "evil". like okay... 😂
this idea that all female characters are supposed to be virtuous geniuses... it's a show about 3 dumbass preteen boys. there are tons of female-led shows available out there, and female main characters galore. these people should go watch em. seriously. im tired of hearing about it frankly.
oh and if edd was canonically a girl, people would hate her and call her a mary sue 👍

one art thing that keeps making me want to pull my hair out is when ppl post a drawing and immediately call it bad/mention its flaws in the caption. whatever you think you're doing with that i can assure you it's not working

Just so you know, the way they do surgery on someone without their consent is "they don't do that, and someone lied to you." The woman consented to the surgery because the implant's battery was dead and she knew that would happen when she got it. She wanted a new one, but the company couldn't make one. Everything about this being done against her will and the company doing it to recoup profit is a lie. All those people in the notes of that post decrying our capitalist dystopia were lied to.
Ah I didn't realize the implant might require power. Though it does still kinda suck that a company which provided a medical solution to a medical problem is held at the stake of profitability over... Y'know.. survival and aid.
Not exactly sure how the company would lose the ability to make a new implant/supply a new battery without going bankrupt.. unless they somehow lost the blueprints or something? I mean, I'm sure that the patient would much rather have a functional implant with a battery in it than a non-functional one, but maybe between non-functional and non-present, non-present is the least likely to cause issues.
Whatever happens, I hope the lady is able to get medical help, preferably as soon as possible.

Actually hermes mom in mythology is a nymph not a human or a god, so maybe RS forgotten that or to draw her with longer ears.
i think it is fair to say that the original myths have no canon connection to rachel’s ramblings, since she’s butchered every myth thus far

Yesss @ your tags on the Childe post. I want to add that even if someone is shaped by trauma/an extreme upbringing, as he very well may have been, unless someone is insane or having an episode of something their actions are still them. It makes his behaviour more sympathetic but (or rather AND) he still has agency over his actions.
I feel like ~the discourse~ can be terrible at handling this sort of character because it can suck at acknowledging the uglier side of mental illness and neurodivergence- the way that hurt people hurt people- with nuance in general. So he has to be sorted into Traumatised(TM) and therefore forgivable or Irredeemable(TM) and can't be sympathised with at all.
yeah! childe is, pretty obviously, traumatised (and as you said may or may not have had an extreme upbringing we don't really know yet iirc but it could be implied), but i feel like that makes it even more important to acknowledge that, as you said, his actions are still his, because i feel like people have this tendency to look at a character and then either decide that everything they ever do even slightly wrong is completely justified and forgivable because they're traumatised or label them as an irredeemable monster and disregard the aspect of it that stems from the fact that they themselves have been deeply hurt because that means that they can't continue to view that character as having absolutely no humanity anymore.
as you mentioned, i think the main issue with the discourse is that people seem to have such a hard time reconciling the fact that someone can be shaped by trauma and their upbringing and still be aware of their actions and the consequences of those actions, and then because of that they end up sliding to one of the two extremes with their interpretation of the character and like. they can be traumatised and shaped by that trauma and still have their actions be Them. they're not being controlled by some Ghost Trauma Force or anything lol (unless as you said they are insane or having an episode of something but that's a different topic) they are Choosing to do those things and therefore have accountability for those actions; this also means, however, that it would be literally impossible for every action they take to come from a place of pure evil - people can, in fact, exist in shades of grey in terms of morality (shocking, i know)

Well zip-a-dee doo da if it ain’t self deprecating and overthinking hours :D
I’m definitely not as present and empathetic as I could be for some of y’all, and I’m sorry about that. Also I need to read your writing and see your art more. And check in on people more.
But you know what, let me show you how I stop saying things like that.
I want to do all those things for everyone. But I’m also brain dead and slowly trying to breach the surface and keep my head above water after drowning for a few days, so there’s that too. (I am getting better ☺️👍🏻) This isn’t a call out post, this is me reorienting my brain since it’s making me overthink things, and I’m doing it here so others can see that yes, even us “well adjusted adults” run into this issue too and this is how we seemingly don’t lose our marbles.
To all of y’all who are drowning and feel guilty if you don’t try to juggle taking care of the entire freaking world while you’re actively inhaling water, numbing out into nonexistence, and slowly dying inside, stop it. Take a look at yourself and recognize that you’re not God, you can’t fix everything and everyone, and you will never be able to. What you can do is remember that you can’t give others light if you have none for yourself. You’re not perfect, don’t you dare expect yourself to be. When you’re hurting you’re hurting. Be humble and responsible and recognize that in order for you to help others, you have to help yourself first.
Thanks for coming to me half-addled, Legend infused TedTalk. ❤️👍🏻

You seem to hellbent in defending end-otw-racism in ONTF’s posts, kudos to you and your level-headed explanations. But perhaps you should inform the movement to update or clarify their manifesto more? The idk factor to that is stitch’s anti stance and the pungent smell of anti coming off from the lingo.
Comments on that post asking ao3 to outright ban things allowed on ao3 that they think is racist isn’t helping the cause either. Definitely won’t convert ONTF’s crowd. She herself has been decried by some of the campaign’s followers as the racist who founded the abuse guideline therefore it must be overhauled… which is… rich.
Yeah I don't think I have much chance with like...the larger, less pragmatic crowd of tired, angry, wounded people clustered around #EndOTWRacism, and I'm not especially interested in nitpicking the finer points of messaging with the people who launched the campaign, nor in re-litigating OTNF's reputation (any more than I already have in the notes of some of my previous posts.)
As someone who's pretty rabidly anti-censorship on principle, I felt like I got what #EndOTWRacism were going for with their manifesto: they wanted to avoid demanding censorship and they were sincere in wanting AO3 to step it up on AO3's own commitments anyway, because they thought there was more AO3 could do that wouldn't require censorship.
It was exactly the kind of extremely watered-down, limited-scope "don't give a hard time to anyone who chooses not to join" sort of thing that someone like stitch (infamous in some circles for calling POC who don't agree with her "pickmes") would never come up with.
If some of the voices #EndOTWRacism cites or reblogs are harsher or more demanding than what they themselves originally outlined, well, that's to be expected. I don't agree with every single thing said by OTNF (equally infamous in other circles for implying that trying to write diversity on purpose made fic boring), but I still reblog lots of her content. I don't agree with the finer points of every single individual post I reblog either, but if OP's perspective has something to contribute to the discussion then I still believe they're worth sharing. I think of it as the social media dialectic: you have to share things that don't perfectly align with each other in order for your blog to achieve synthesis!
I understand (vaguely) why some people are leery of stitch, and I eventually stopped following her on twitter because the vitriol-to-enlightenment ratio wasn't doing it for me, but I think it's honestly pretty childish to take such a strong "guilt by association" approach. It demonstrates underdeveloped theory of mind. As OTNF said recently to one of her anons, do you think everyone else has the same mental associations with stitch that you do?
I get pretty exhausted with any fandom organizing that focuses more on personal associations than it does on facts. And I get exhausted with the process of side-picking in general. So much of the time, something characterized later as "this ideological stance vs. that ideological stance! choose your side! neutrality supports the oppressor!" is actually just "somebody said something kinda thoughtless that slightly offended someone else, they both vagueblogged about their hurt feelings instead of trying to understand each other, suddenly three hundred strangers are analyzing this interpersonal squabble in the context of whatever sociopolitical problem they're most outraged about, and now half my friends won't talk to the other half."
Over and over, I see people talking past each other because someone's stray thoughtless comment becomes a synecdoche for A Whole-Ass Political Platform. Trying to sever the connection between the inciting thoughtless comment and A Whole-Ass Political Platform may trigger onlookers to assume you are defending the political platform rather than distancing yourself from it. Defensiveness on both sides leads to absurd doubling down. In the rush to have the right opinions faster and more pithily than everyone else, new thoughtless comments are made. And so it goes down through the telephone game of public opinion until people who have very little context for the inciting incident are screaming at each other.
If you don't agree with what #EndOTWRacism has in their list of demands, then just... don't support the campaign! It's fine! But don't avoid supporting it just because you think stitch gave it cooties, or because some people who are supporting #EndOTWracism's campaign also have other more extreme demands you disagree with. That's how normal political campaigns work: you fight for the stuff you can both agree on, with allies who are otherwise radically different from you. There are countless left-wing political commentators and activists and even writers I follow and happily ally with who nevertheless have terrible opinions about dead dove content.
Like, of course I'm gonna do my best not to ally myself with anyone wielding political power to enact bigotry, but at the end of the day, both stitch and OTNF are in the "racism bad, dark kinky fic good" camp. To an outsider, they're far more similar than they are different. We shouldn't lose sight of that just because we happen to be more familiar with fandom drama than most.
tl;dr: If you don't like antis, then don't approach potential allies with the anti thing of "I saw you reblogged something from so-and-so. They're a gross pro-shipper. If you don't block them immediately then everyone is going to think you're okay with pedophilia." We're all more mature than that, right?
