Piglin Hybrid bedrock bros

When Tommy came to live with Phil and Technoblade, he wasn’t expecting to deal with all the weird little habits they had.

At first, it was small things; like finding feathers and crows everywhere, or Technoblade changing crowns almost every day. The first time he pointed it out, Phil only laughed and said: “This is a hybrid safe haven mate, That’s why Niki and Ranboo come here so often.”

With this guarantee, Tommy felt a little bit freer to let out a few of his own hybrid habits. It was actually quite easy to let go of the restraint and rely on his piglin side a bit more. It started as collecting some golden nuggets, then he brought some extra blankets to his room and started sitting closer to the fireplace with Techno.

Only a few weeks later, he found a small golden necklace on his pillow. It had an emerald adorning it, carefully carved into a turtle. It wouldn’t take a genius to assume it was from Technoblade, and Tommy would rather die than admitting that the thoughtful gift made his piglin side melt.

It could be easily explained through their instincts; they were the only pigling hybrids around, and Techno was older so it was only natural for them to cling onto each other. But something else on Tommy’s mind always screamed out in joy every time Technoblade showed he was caring for Tommy, and that little necklace represented all of that; a physical reminder that Tommy was cared for.

And once Technoblade noticed that Tommy actually wore the thing, other little gifts started showing up, all of them gold; a few thin rings, some earrings (Phil had to pierce Tommy’s ears so he could wear them, and it hurt, but it was worth it because Techno always smiled fondly when he saw him wearing them.)

The presents were never given face to face though.

Not until that day.

Tommy had just finished his chores, he entered the house and hung his coat, then he hushed to sit beside the fireplace, pulling one of the blankets over his shoulders. He thought Techno and Phil were still out but then he heard steps coming from upstairs and immediately assumed it was Techno. He relaxed back into the sofa behind him, staring at the flames in the fireplace.

Tommy must have dozed off at some point, because he was startled when he felt someone sitting beside him. He settles once he feels Techno’s familiar presence.

“Move, Theseus.” The man half-whispers. Tommy moves a little to the sides, allowing Techno to settle near the fire.

That’s when he sees the golden piece in Techno’s hand. His instincts tingle a bit, but he only asks; “Made yourself a new crown?”

Here’s the thing; gold is everything to a piglin, most know that they trade items for it, but the thing that usually goes unnoticed is how significant it is amongst themselves; they give it to show affection, belonging, love.

And Tommy had been receiving gold items from Techno for weeks now, only not directly. But this time, Technoblade says; “Well, I made it… But it's not for myself.” And after a moment of hesitation; “I… I made it for you.” He finishes, extending him the crown.

Tommy’s eyes go wide, and he takes the crown as if it could break any moment. It’s got the familiar weight that gold usually has, and it has spikes that make it look more like a halo from an angel. Tommy loves it.

“Thank you…” He chokes out in a whisper.

“Here.” Techno says, taking the crown from Tommy’s hands and placing it carefully on his head.

The weight settles on Tommy’s head, and he feels good knowing he is wearing it, but he feels even better knowing that Techno made it for him.

“Now we match.” Techno says, smiling slightly.

Tommy laughs; “Yeah… we match, big man.”

It could be easily explained through their instincts; they were the only pigling hybrids around, and Techno was older so it was only natural for them to cling onto each other. But something in Tommy knew it was more than that, that he and Techno were family now.
