If it's okay to ask, I'm curious what your initial thoughts are on the potential plot for the Insomniac Spidey sequel game! I'm still sorting my thoughts, but one of the things that definitely crossed my mind was how the story trailer reminded me of both TASM films (eg. terminally ill Harry as a major villain, the main villain plot being forcibly 'healing' the world, and we know from the MM post-credits scene that Connors is behind Harry's treatment with the symbiote, etc.), and while the main issue with the eugenics stuff in the TASM films is how it was framed as being both real and good and neither Peter nor the narrative ever challenges it, rather than just the villains being villainous and it could go differently here, I'm really not sure how optimistic to be at this point in speculation - but it's also not an aspect of the trailer I've seen much discussion on either.
having gone over the original game again, (geez I forgot how hard they went on the Spider-Cop bit) I still don't feel as pessimistic on this plot point as others seem to be... yet.
MSM1 had parallels to TASM1 too, without fumbling the ball as hard. Main villain starts as an ally researching limb replacement, partially for themselves; plot turning point is a Oscorp gene-cure-mist being released into the city with terrible results. It helps that Insomniac's medical science is just 50% less bullshit. Devil's Breath names a real genome editing tech (CRISPR by viral vector) and genetic diseases that aren't just disabling, but fatal (cystic fibrosis, Huntington's) as the intended target. There's no TASM-esque twist where victims with improperly edited genes become a ''devolved'' ''lower lifeform'' or turn murderous. They just get sick.
Otto doesn't consider using Devil's Breath on himself. His condition isn't even genetic. Dumb to have to point that out, but TASM Curt compares limb loss to agonizing death by disease (??) and proposes his amputation be "fixed" with genetic modification (???) while Otto's focus is on (embellished) mobility aids. The idea that brain damage from the arms made Otto evil is brought up and then refuted. Martin and Otto have social + financial motivations which overlap with but aren't fully defined by disability. They're well-intentioned extremists: they want to take down a crooked capitalist who's politically untouchable... time to poison random civilians!
Going by these trends: I expect Harry to have a fairly realistic diagnosis and to use real assistive aids alongside any sci-fi treatments (he has a cane for a second in the trailer). I expect that if he did inherit his condition it was from his mother, and the only person who might be weird about that is Norman. Insomniac Harry's previous vision for "healing the world" has been air and water quality, green energy, and wildlife health. If this changes, I expect a more nuanced explanation than "idk he's sick and crazy now".
Will I actually like it? Who knows! (Like MJ was fine. but she's not My MJ.) I'm still crossing my fingers for sentient alien Venom because I think it would make everything more interesting to have Venom the character rather than just the plot device.
I'm truly more worried for Curt--most of the Insomniac plotlines are pulled from modern comics. (For the love of god please let's not do Shed.) But comics Devil's Breath was a poison that killed only certain genetic lineages, and someone made the call to avoid that minefield of weird ideas. So. Hope remains that this will not be the TASM movies' kind of freakshow.

100% screaming into the void here and avoiding things I need to be doing by typing this out but INDUSTRIAL PIERCING
- Done last October, anatomy was well suited, took less than 15 minutes, went to get Chick-Fil-A immediately after
- Only had a tiny little bit of blood on the lower helix of day two, easily removed with saline after a hot shower. Kept wet hair pulled back because it kept sitting on the bar and that hurt. Swelling was completely gone by day 11. Cleaned with sterile saline spray 2x daily until it just dried the top of my ear out, then cleaned as needed (aka when I felt crusties). Otherwise LITHA.
- Miraculously neither side developed any bumps, and at month two I had my piercer change the ball ends, NOT the entire bar. He mentioned a very slight tear on the lower helix (we think it got twisted unintentionally while it was dry + crusty) but reassured me it was nothing to be concerned about.
- Month four, fairly well healed. Swapped the bar, now have a little vampire fang charm and the bar is slightly longer than the initial bar (personal tastes); one thing I wish I had done differently was request a longer bar as I was paranoid about swelling and embedding and all that *jazz*. Not big enough to slide around a whole lot, but there’s a few mm of visible bar beyond my lower helix. Side note: Cartilage holes are so cool looking. 11/10, so round, so lovely.
- Month four and a bit, vampire fangs got caught in the seam of one of my ancient pillows and tore it. How in the WORLD that happened and didn’t wake me up or mess up the piercing.
In short, the only issue I had was COMPLETELY RANDOM and anything but what I expected. Least finicky piercing I’ve dealt with. Absolutely not going to annoy it, and don’t intend to swap bars again for a while, even though it didn’t seem to mind. I worried so much about this stupid thing and it’s all been for nothing.
Sooooo if anyone considering an industrial happens to see this, not all of them are nightmares to heal, but anatomy, a good piercer, and keeping up with aftercare is incredibly important to keeping them NOT nightmarish

Can we get some hurt/comfort type stuff where the bros catch MC crying?
It's cool if not, drink water and remember that you're a really cool person ♡

"I Saw You Crying.. Are You Okay?" (Feat. The Demon Bros and GN!MC)
(Hurt comfort, angst, and feels of all varieties)
Enjoy❤️
Lucifer
Lucifer
When Lucifer caught you crying the moment you set your school bag down, he knew something was wrong. He likes to be aware of every situation if he's able, so seeing you like this and not knowing what's the matter is... troubling, to say the least.
He watches your demeanor as you slink off to your room, hoping no one stops you on your way there. He's the type to gather information before engaging, but it's not like he can figure anything out like this, so he goes after you.
He finds you curled up into a pitiful ball, sobbing into a pillow. It doesn't take long for his hand to find a place atop your head, gently petting your hair back. Lucifer doesn't speak, instead allowing you to initiate it first.
And whether or not you DO tell him what's wrong, he listens carefully and provides you comfort all the same. He knows that words can't always fix everything, but having someone to confide in can be a comfort.
"I'll stay here for as long as you need me. Ah, my work? Don't worry about that either. I doubt I could get anything done while worrying over you, MC."
Mammon
When Mammon spotted the tears streaking your cheeks, he immediately went into defensive mode. Can you blame him though? He's supposed to be your guardian! He's ready to fuckin FIGHT
And as such, he immediately hurried after you despite you trying to escape to the bathroom. He'll grab your arm, pull you close, and hurry you off to his room before his brothers can steal you
Promptly plops you down on the sofa and drapes his coat over you. He doesn't know what happened, but he wants names. And if that's not the case, he'll quickly calm down to listen to you.
Big bro has had his fair share of letting his baby brothers vent, so he's pretty good at this sort of thing. Actually, he tries his best to help out if he can. He might not be the best at it, but he means well. And he'll try especially hard if it means you'll smile again.
"Hey... look at me, MC. Crying outta nowhere like that... When something's botherin' ya, come to me. If it's enough to make ya cry, I wanna be involved."
Levi
Levi had been through enough to know the difference between eyes that were red form staying up late, and eyes that were red from crying. Sometimes he’d experience both, depending on what he might've been binging.
But in your case, your red eyes were caused by the latter, along with the sniffling you thought you could hide from him when you came into his room and asked if you could watch tv with him. Of course he agreed, and he gathered up his courage so that the moment you came close enough, he could pull you into his arms.
He's no good at stuff like this. He never thought of himself as the type that anyone would come to for comfort, and yet here you were, choosing his room as your sanctuary. There's no way he could deny you after you came so far!
Levi's definitely a good listener since he's not sure how to handle giving advice, and does his best to dish out distractions. Wanna play a game? He recently got a snack crate shipped in, full off all sorts of sweets! Wanna try some? And he just ordered a super cute sheep plush if you feel like hugging it. Or... you could hug him too, if you want.
"I know that.. things can be pretty overwhelming sometimes. And it probably doesn't help that you're away from your world. But if it's any comfort, y-you can always come here. You're my Henry-... no, you're my friend. So I want to make sure you're okay."
Satan
Satan caught sight of you scrubbing your eyes when you thought no one was watching, and would've assumed you got dust in your eye if he didn't notice how red your face was.
And the way you suddenly closed the book in your hands, put it in a random spot, and rushed off. You knew how Lucifer could be when it came to the organization of the library, so there's no way you'd risk a lecture over a simple mistake.
He hung back for a bit instead of pursuing you, because he knew how beneficial a little alone time could be when one was upset. But that doesn't mean he won't text you to see if you're alright.
When you reply, and grant him permission to see you after he asks for it, Satan arrives with extra blankets, herbal tea, and obviously, a few books. He'll ask if you want to talk about it, but if not, that's fine too.
"They say lavender chamomile tea works wonders for stress relief, and I can attest to that. I... don't know what's on your mind, and I know it can be difficult to put your feelings into words at times, but I'm here, even if you need to yell."
Asmo
When Asmo heard your sobs echoing from the bathroom, he either assumes that you A), poked yourself in the eye during your skincare routine he made you begin, or B), something was wrong.
And from the harsh sound of your cries, he figured it was the latter. There's no way he would let you endure any hardships alone! Asmo to the rescue!
He's quick to politely knock on the door, but doesn't wait for you to allow him access when he's already got it open and closes it behind himself. He gets one good look at you, and he's already cooing.
The boy cups your face and peppers it with little kisses, wiping your tears, smoothing your hair back, and ushering you over to sit in the side of the tub, so he can hug you tight.
"Darling, are you okay?? Look at the state of you... Shall I pamper your worries away with a nice bath? And when that's over, I plan to spoil you until you can't think of anything other than my beautiful face! I'll do anything to make you smile again."
Beel
Beel intended to go to your room to share a new flavor of potato chips with you, but instead was met with the sound of your shaking sobs from behind your closed door. That's all it takes for him to forget about the bags of chips in his arms.
They're discarded to the ground and he hesitates near your door for a moment, worry welling up within him. But Beel won't let you cry for long, because he's already entered your room and is sheepishly approaching your bed.
Without a word, the big ol bear gathers you into his arms for a tight hug, leaning into your shoulder and exhaling. You both stay in that position for a long, long while until your crying has calmed.
He pulls back to wipe your tears and snot, and gives you a worried look. What could've had you crying like this? Were you sad about something? You didn't seem physically hurt... Was someone mean to you? Was it Mammon-
"MC... please don't cry. I'll stay with you as long as you need me to, and I won't let go of you. If you need to hit something, you can hit me. Should I stay here for the night? ....Belphie won't mind. I don't want you to be alone."
Belphie
Belphie didn't know why you weren't answering his texts, but while he normally wouldn't mind, he was desperate to have your attention. Or rather, he really wanted to hug you.
And it seemed you would need just that when he entered your room to find you all curled up under your blankets, hiccuping away the aftermath of a hard crying session. What could've had you in such a state was beyond him, but it bothered him to no end.
So Belphie did what he does best and invaded your space, curling up next to you to lay down and pull you into his arms. He doesn't say anything, only your soft sobs breaking the silence between you.
His hand gently rubs your back when he feels you shake, and he squeezes you a little tighter when you sniffle. Eventually, he looks down at you and moves the blankets from your face, his expression soft.
"...Feeling a little better now? I can't stand seeing you so upset. If someone hurt you, I'll take care of it. If not, I'll let you cry in my arms for as long as you need. And maybe you'll feel better after a nap, hm? Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."

You can find part 1 here and part 2 here!
Tumblr media
Quick recap: Henry's crush on his very sweet and younger neighbour (you lol) grew into something else when you asked him for help with taking some pictures for your onlyfans account. Following this, your relationship reached a very teasing level, which prompted Henry to take matters into his own hands, even if that meant crossing some lines. So when he found out that you and a specific man from your past were on a voice call, he just had to know what exactly was being discussed. This jealousy fit had him using his spare key to enter your apartment and eavesdrop, and this is where chapter 2 ends. Have fun reading the next part!!!
“No” you sighed, waving your arms around, desperate to get your point across. But it was mostly useless, nothing even remotely decent would ever manage to penetrate Steve’s thick skull. He was a dumbass with a heart of gold, so you couldn’t even blame him for messing things up on purpose, you just learned the hard way not to take his advice under any circumstance. “No, Steve. I won’t do that. Not a chance!”
“Hun-” he scoffed, rolling his eyes as a smirk showed up on his lips, “When have I ever been wrong?”
“Really!?” you giggled and then sighed, “Listen, I gotta go to the bathroom and you’d better forget about this topic by the time I come back”
“Wait, wait. Ok, fine. Scratch that” Steve laughed, stopping you from getting up, “When have I ever been wrong on purpose?”
“Listen, I know you’re just trying to help” you smiled, “But I don’t think your experience in seducing girls with daddy issues benefits my situation in any kind of way”
“‘Course it does! I can give you some perspective!”
“Perspective on what?” you mocked, playfully frowning at him through the screen on your laptop, “You and Henry have nothing in common”
“The dick for one” Steve joked but when he saw you roll your eyes, he became serious, “I’m just tryin to help you hook up with the guy! That’s all”
“See!?” you laughed, already exasperated by the conversation, “I’m not trying to hook up with him, I want something more…”
Your sentence was cut short by the sound of a door closing. Your blood ran cold and your hands froze, eyes staring blankly into the camera.
“Y/n?” Steve asked with worry, “What’s wrong?”
“Wait here” you mumbled, pushing the laptop off of you and rushing to the door of your bedroom. You pressed your ear against it, and listened closely, the sound of a lock being turned chilling you to your bones. With shaky hands, you stumbled your way back to your bed, and looked into the camera, directly at a somewhat already worried Steve. “I gotta go-”
“Wait-” Steve tried to ask, “Are you-”
“Yeah, I’m fine, talk to you later” you hurriedly mumbled before ending the call. Your fingers flew across the screen of your phone, finding Henry’s name and pressing the green button in the blink of an eye.
And had he not been this utterly stupid and reckless, none of this would have happened. His impulsivity got the best of him, and panic rushed through his veins when he heard you were about to head to the bathroom. Pressure did him no good, and the first thing that came to mind at that point was to bolt out of there, knowing there was absolutely no way to explain what he was doing in your apartment. But his shaky hands were of no help, and the dexterity he earlier proved himself capable of was nowhere to be found. However, he didn’t care. He just stormed out, happy to finally breathe again as soon as he was out of your apartment - but when his phone vibrated in his pocket, he felt like dying all over again.
With your heart beating inside your throat, you grabbed your bedside lamp into your free hand, and curled yourself into a ball in the corner of your room, opposite to the door, the sound of the ongoing call being the only thing you heard over the loud buzz in your ears.
“Yeah?” Henry’s voice rang loudly when he finally answered, making you all but jump with fright.
Had you paid more attention, you’d have noticed he too sounded out of breath, but you were too out of it to tell. All you could think about was the psycho what was at your door.
“Henry-” you cried, voice shaky as the intake of air was no longer satisfying. You were hyperventilating, sweating from every pore, scared out of your mind.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his voice more stern now. “Y/n? Are you ok?”
“Yeah- yeah…” you said on autopilot, mind on standby. “No…” You whimpered, “Henry, can you- I think someone is trying to break into my house, I-”
“What!?” he gasped, “I’m sure no one-”
“Henry!” you cried into the phone, “Can you please look through your peephole? Please?”
He sounded confused, but you didn’t have to ask him twice. You heard a bit of shuffling before his voice reached your ears again, “There’s no one there, there’s no one at your door, you can relax”
“No-” you whimpered, unable to calm down, “Henry, please-!”
“I’m coming over right now,” he said.
“No! No, what if they’re still in the hallway?”
“There’s no one there, love” Henry tried to reassure you. When you heard him unlock the door of his apartment your heart stopped, but after that, everything was quiet.
“Are you ok?” you muttered, wiping your nose with your sleeve.
“Yes, love. I’m fine” Henry lightly chuckled, “I’m at your door, can you open up?”
“No” you scoffed, “What if someone got in?”
“No one got in” he tried to explain, but your adrenaline soaked brain refused to comply.
“Henry, take the spare key I gave you” you suggested, “And grab a knife”
Seeing how affected and terrified you were, Henry didn’t argue with you anymore. In a matter of seconds, you heard the door of your apartment being unlocked, Henry assuring you through the phone that it was him. When he walked inside, you remained hidden in your spot. He checked the kitchen and the living room, coming up to finally enter the bedroom. When your eyes landed on his massive frame, you breathed out relieved and rushed to him, throwing yourself into his arms. There was no other place on Earth you felt as safe as you did when he was holding you.
“Shh, you’re ok, you’re good” Henry cooed, cradling you to his chest, “I got you, baby, ok? I’m here”
But there was no stopping you. You broke down entirely, holding onto him as your legs gave in, turning into a mess. Henry carried you to the bed, sitting you down and allowing you to calm down at your own pace.
“I’m here, ok?” he asked again, rubbing your back, “I won’t let anything happen to you, Y/n, you know that. You’re safe, I got you”
It was impossible to tell just how long it took you to fully calm down, but it was safe to say that it would have taken hours longer had Henry not been there with you. When you were finally able to properly breathe again and hold a conversation, you looked up at him, big doe eyes hoping to convince him without too much of a fuss. “Can you stay here with me, please? I can’t be alone right now”
With nothing but sympathy in his eyes, Henry leaned down and kissed your forehead, “Don’t you think it would be better if we went over to my place instead?”
“No” you shook your head, “And leave the apartment unattended? I don’t think that’s a good idea”
His heart broke. Being his usual, impulsive self, Henry managed to break you down and terrify you to your core. As much as he wanted to reassure you everything would be fine, he couldn’t. He couldn’t just tell you it was him who broke into your apartment in the middle of a jealousy breakdown. So, he settled for the second best option, and really, he couldn’t complain.
It was late in the afternoon on a Sunday, no locksmith on the clock. Seeing how you’d have to wait until the next morning, he was more than happy to spend that time with you.
As time started to pass, you also started to relax.
The day slowly wilted a way, as both you and Henry made yourselves busy around your apartment. He wasted a couple of hours installing games on your school laptop as you took a bath, he then cooked you dinner, and by the time the night rolled around, you were your usual bubbly self again. And after watching and laughing your hearts out at Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets, sleep started to creep up on you.
Henry placed one of your kitchen chairs under the doorknob before turning to give you a massive hug, “No one can get in, darling. I promise”
“Thank god you live across the hall” you confessed, snaking your arms under his hoodie as you gathered yourself as close to him as possible. “What would I have done otherwise?”
“You don’t have to worry about that” Henry kissed your forehead, “I’ll always be here when you need me”
And in that moment, right there, stopping yourself from kissing him turned out to be the most difficult thing you ever had to do. Instead, you settled for his cheek, before hiding your face against his shoulder. “I’ll always be here for you too”
“Thank you, angel” Henry breathed out.
There really was nothing on this earth you loved more than this man.
Getting ready to go to sleep, you changed in your pajamas, while all Henry did was take off his hoodie. With your toothbrush lodged between your teeth, you lingered in the door frame, watching the muscles of his back flex as he bent down and put his phone down to charge.
Toothpaste and drool could very well have dribbled down your chin as you stood and gawked, only releasing you were staring when Henry turned around and a smile made its way up his lips. “Yes?” he laughed, but all you did was look him up and down, before returning to the bathroom with a shake of your head.
“Oh, Y/n?” Henry called again, following you, “Where can I find a blanket or some sheets?”
First you squinted, but then you decided it would be best if you just finished brushing your teeth before anything else. After rinsing your mouth, you turned to look at him, utterly unamused. “What for?”
“So I don’t have to sleep on leather?”
“You’re sleeping with me” you rolled your eyes, grabbing his elbow and dragging him into the bathroom so he could get ready for bed too. “Not up for discussion”
“Ok” Henry chuckled, looking at you in the mirror. “But I snore”
As if that would make you reconsider. You walked away and into your room, settling under the covers, without another word. About 10 minutes later, Henry joined you.
He fit in like a piece of puzzle and you didn’t even try to keep yourself from cuddling into his side. Sinking his head down between the multitude of pillows on your bed, you giggled, crawling on top of him. Without thinking too much about it, you kissed your way down his neck, peppering tens of kisses against his naked chest. You felt his heartbeat under your palm as he breathed in and out slowly, smiling down at you as he enjoyed the view.
“Thanks for doing this for me” you mumbled, rubbing your hand up and down his chiseled abdomen.
“Really, Y/n” Henry said, wrapping his arms around you, “There’s no need to thank me. Plus, you think I’m not enjoying this?”
“Oh shut up” you giggled. The amount of small talk that followed turned out to be exactly what you needed in order to allow your eyes to peacefully close. Despite the events of earlier in the evening, you now felt safer than ever before.
It was just a matter of time until soft snores started escaping past your lips, your chest rising and falling every so softly as you drifted out of consciousness.
But Henry’s mind was nowhere near relaxed enough to drift off. No. You were too close to him, too innocent and vulnerable for him to just let this moment pass. The way you had just thrown one of your legs over his lap drove him insane - your bare thigh too accessible to him.
At first, he just tested the waters. A peck to the top of your head, and a small caress against the back of your hand. You were completely out, and that accentuated his need further.
Slowly moving his free arm down his body, Henry brushed his fingers over his clothed member, grunting out loud when he felt the sensibility in his tip. He bit into his bottom lip out of need to keep quiet, teasing himself just a little as he struggled to decide how to go about things. With the way you were laying right now, it was next to impossible for him to free himself without moving you. And even though at the beginning he tried to avoid that, when you stirred in your sleep, your body rubbing up against his, he lost all kinds of patience.
As softly as he could, Henry pushed your leg back, just a little. Even in your sleep, you craved his touch, as when you felt movement, you involuntarily shuffled closer, but much to his relief, your legs remained on the mattress.
Eagerness controlled his actions as he pushed his pants down his thighs, propping his hips up with difficulty. When his underwear was pulled down and his cock sprung free, Henry hissed with unmatched satisfaction. With his hand wrapped around his base and his eyes on you, he swallowed thickly, his heart beating out of his chest with a demented sense of bliss.
"My baby-" Henry cooed, rubbing his lips across your hairline as he started stroking his cock.
His movements were slow but not calculated in any way. His brain was occupied, forcing his hand to work on muscle memory. But still, he teased himself, rubbing his thumb across his slit just like he liked to think you would.
The fear of getting caught was at an all time high as you stirred again. He froze for a second, "That's my good girl-" Henry whispered, looking down at your sleeping frame. As much as he wanted you to take an active part in this, he knew better than to risk it.
It was getting more and more difficult to breathe, his back sweating profusely as he pumped himself closer to the edge. His hips bucked, causing the bed frame to creak. Instantly, he stilled, eyes on you, but all you did was rub your cheek against his chest, completely unaware of your surroundings.
"I'm so close for you, my darling" Henry groaned, his throat paper dry as the words left his lips. All he could hear was his own breathing and the unmistakable perverse sound of slapping skin, but still, even above all of that, you kept on peacefully snoring.
The arm Henry looped around your frame was now traveling lower, his palm exploring your side until he reached your ass. He softly gripped a handful of your bum, squeezing hard enough to make up for the struggle of not allowing himself to finish too early. But it was reckless and maybe he shouldn't have done so, as his touch all but woke you up.
Still overwhelmed with sleep, you barely pushed yourself up, eyes closed as you slightly changed your position. You were now laying higher up his body, your head almost falling off his shoulder. Your breathing tickled the side of his neck as you snaked your arm up and looped it around his frame. Biting down hard on his bottom hip, Henry felt ridiculous amounts of blood rush to the tip of his cock as you refused to settle already.
Rubbing the tip of your nose across his jugular, still mostly out but not fully, you peaked your eyes open, “Henry-?”
“Y- yeah?” he swallowed thickly, freezing in his spot.
“Why’re you awake?” you mumbled.
“Just woke up- had a weird dream, that’s all”
You believed the lie without an ounce of doubt, “Wanna talk about it?”
“Yes” he whispered, “But in the morning. Sorry I woke you up, go back to sleep, darling”
“Ok” you sighed, kissed his bare shoulder and allowed yourself to drift off again.
Henry licked his lips in a haze, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as sweat worked his entire body. God, how he regretted getting himself in his position, but his cock was full on hard, all but leaking at the tip, not so patiently waiting to receive any kind of attention again. He sucked in a deep breath, eyes on you to make sure you were asleep.
His heart skipped a beat as your mouth popped open, but your light snores came as the strongest form of reassurance, and he resumed his work. The anxiety of getting caught fueled him, and the heels of his feet dug into the mattress, his hips bucking upwards as he furiously pumped his cock.
It was all getting too much. He was close. Henry threw his head back trying to suppress a moan, but he miserably failed. A choked back wail escaped his now dry lips as his whole body tensed. He squeezed you closer, his fingers lewdly digging into the sweet flesh of your ass. He was crossing many lines but that didn't stop him. He didn't see things clear anymore. His chest heaved, rushing up and down as he fisted his cock, biting into his lower lip as he watched your peaceful expression.
It was pure, dumb luck that he managed to spot a pack of napkins laying on the night stand mere seconds before he came. His juices eagerly ran down his shaft as he flew through his orgasm, his saviour napkin proving almost useless.
Coming down from his high, he all but managed to calm down, but his mind was still set. He would never get enough of you. And no matter how many times he'd cum, he'd still be down to go again. You had that power over him.
"Fuck…" Henry panted. And in the blur of the moment he created, he didn't even stop to process his thoughts. Gathering the few droplets of cum that landed on his stomach, he brought his hand up to your face, his thumb rubbing across your lips.
In that moment, then and there, when you unconsciously wrapped your lips around his finger, he almost lost it all over again.
"Holy-" he cried again, kissing your forehead. As eager and willing as he was to keep going, Henry stopped himself. He tucked the napkins next to the foot of the bed, pulled his pants back up his hips and settled under the covers.
Sleep didn't come easy, but he eventually drifted off. Unfortunately, the clock had almost struck 3am by the time he closed his eyes, and no later than 6:15, your alarm went off.
"No" you protested, wiggling around in search of your phone. "No school- no, thank you"
Eyes closed and cheek squished into the pillow, Henry raised his arm and found the phone with ease, handing it to you without a word.
Squinting under the bright light of the screen, you dismissed the alarm and snuggled back into Henry's chest, his arms wrapping around your body in an instant.
And as heavenly as this felt, it only lasted for about 5 minutes, until your alarm went off again.
"Just turn it off" Henry laughed, kissing your forehead, "I'll wake you up after I make breakfast"
"You don't have to" you protested, throwing in a whine or two as you curled yourself around him.
"I want to"
"No"
"Y/n…"
"Ok fine" you sighed, "Thank you"
"No need darling" Henry chuckled and stood up. He once again pecked the top of your head and then he was gone. About one second and a half later, you were asleep again, only to complain when Henry woke you up.
"It's 7" he stated, gathering the blanket in his arms and allowing the cold air to reach your body.
"Give it back" you cried.
"Is that how it's gonna be?" Henry threatened, and despite his dominating tone, you still refused to take him seriously. When you hid your face between the pillows, he deeply sighed, but satisfaction was still audible in his tone. "Fine then"
Taking you completely by surprise, Henry bent down and gathered you in his arms, throwing you over his shoulder with absolute ease.
"Henry-" you yelled, "The fuck-"
"Not gonna be late, Y/n" Henry laughed, "Not on my watch"
"God" you giggled along and allowed yourself to be carried to the kitchen.
As soon as he walked out of the bedroom, a delicious smell reached your nose. It was probably the first real breakfast you'd had in weeks, so you weren't going to complain anymore. Fresh coffee, toast, avocado, pancakes, hard boiled eggs and a multitude of veggies and fruit awaited on the table.
"I didn't even know I had all this food in my house"
"You didn't-" Henry shook his head, sitting down beside you, "Grabbed them from my place"
"You shouldn't have, but thank you"
"No need" he assured you, "Dig in"
When you were done, and right before you headed to the bathroom to get ready, you turned to him again. "Do you know the number of any locksmiths? I really wanna change the locks"
Following a quick Google search, Henry found a multitude of ads, and after choosing the most trustworthy looking one, he dialed the number as you patiently waited beside him.
Everything seemed to go perfectly well, until he frowned, "No, today pl- [...] No, I'm not locked out of my- [...] You sure-? Ok, ok fine. Ok, tomorrow, first thing, ok, thanks"
"They can't come today?" you pouted as soon as he hung up.
"No, I'm sorry" Henry shook his head, and seeing the disappointment plastered on your face, he spoke up again. "I can stay one more night, if you want to. I'll sleep in the living room-"
"What? No" you scoffed, "It's not that…"
"What is it then?" he questioned, starting to get worried.
You hesitated. "Its no-"
"Don't tell me it's nothing" Henry commanded, pointing a finger at you. A smile appeared at the corner of your lips as you rolled your eyes.
"Ok, fine. I just- I just had to film today for the- you know… That's all, but I can do it some other day"
Henry didn't answer until a smirk tilted the corner of his lips upwards. "Or I could help you?"
"Help me?" you gawked.
"Yeah" he nonchalantly shrugged, "Helped you once before, didn't I?"
"You sure?"
"Yeah" he smiled, "Only if you me want to, of course"
Your knees weakened and your heart was beating in all the wrong ways, so all you managed to do was giggle and shake your head in disbelief. "Well, yeah... I want to"
How were you going to tell him that the video was supposed to be of you fucking yourself with a baby pink dildo? And how exactly was he going to help? You had a long day ahead of you and the ridiculous amounts of school work you had to get done in the meantime didn't allow you to give these questions any kind of priority. All you wanted was for the evening to come around already even if you sweated profusely just at the thought of what was to come.

Kissing Scott felt like Jimmy was cradling sunlight in his hands. Something that should have been impossible, and yet all the same it was happening. And now that Scott had Jimmy, he seemed determined not to let him go. Not that Jimmy was exactly complaining about Scott’s new mission to kiss him breathless- but considering not too long ago Scott was trying to make him breathless in an entirely different sense, and that the others didn’t even know what all went down… they should probably stop. So with great regret, Jimmy tried to pull away from Scott- key word there being tried.
“Scott, c’mon, let go of me,” Jimmy chuckled, dodging yet another kiss. Scott settled for pressing his lips to Jimmy’s cheek before tucking his head under Jimmy’s chin. His wings shifted to curl around the both of them, and as nice as it felt, they really needed to get up from the floor so that Jimmy could let his friends know what happened.
“Mm… no,” Scott hummed with a giggle.
“We should probably tell the others what happened- they all think you’re still fighting off the corruption, or are possessed,” Jimmy pointed out.
“I don’t see why we can’t just tell them later,” Scott pouted. Jimmy let out a fond, incredulous sigh.
“You also haven’t properly eaten anything in a few days, you’ve been living off of splash health potions for the most part,” Jimmy said sternly.
“Well, I know something I’m hungry for,” Scott teased, and Jimmy didn’t even need to see his face to know that he was smirking. Jimmy sighed again.
“And I thought you were incorrigible when we hated each other,” he commented with a chuckle. Scott pulled away enough to look at Jimmy with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“You’re stuck with me now, better get used to it, sweetheart,” he murmured. Jimmy could feel his face warm up considerably at the petname, and Scott grinned at the sight. Well, two could play that game.
“You say that like it’s a bad thing, sunshine,” Jimmy replied with a grin. Scott’s eyes went wide, and he flushed pink all the way to the tips of his ears.
“Oh you can flirt back now. Right,” Scott managed to get out, voice coming out a bit strained. Jimmy just grinned wider.
“So what do you say, sunshine? How about we let everyone know that neither of us are dead and that you’re also not possessed?” Jimmy offered. Scott made a flustered sound at being called “sunshine” again, but collected himself enough to let out a sigh of defeat.
“Fine,” he grumbled, before getting up off of Jimmy. Jimmy stood up as well- just in time to catch Scott as he suddenly tilted to one side. Scott was leaning against Jimmy heavily, and Jimmy looped an arm around his waist as he tried to keep Scott upright.
“Scott?!” Jimmy gasped, unable to keep the panic from his tone.
“M’okay- think that lack of actual food thing is catching up to me. Just stood up too fast and got dizzy, that’s all,” Scott reassured him, standing up a bit more but still holding on to Jimmy, just to be sure.
“Then we’d really better tell the others so that we can work on getting your strength back,” Jimmy said with a relieved smile. He led Scott over to the lever for the secret door, and the moment he flicked it, a group of people came tumbling in. Nearly all of them fell to the floor in a heap, except for Pearl and Pixl, who sheepishly smiled at Jimmy and Scott. Gem was the first to pick herself up from the floor, dusting off her robes and letting out a nervous laugh.
“We uh. We might have been listening for a little bit there! We just didn’t want to interrupt,” Gem explained sheepishly. The others picked themselves off from the floor as she spoke, and Shelby was the last to get up from the floor, holding a black shulker box to her chest.
“Where’d the corruption go, I’ve got a box for it!” Shelby chirped, peering around Jimmy and Scott. The two of them blinked in surprise, and Scott looked to his arm. The corruption was long gone, all that was left was a scar from the initial cut. Jimmy looked around the room, and soon spotted what was left of the corruption lying on the floor near where he and Scott had fought. It looked like a mass of red vines that twitched every so often, and Jimmy’s stomach turned with nausea at the sight. Scott seemed to notice Jimmy’s sudden distress, and followed his gaze, only for Scott himself to turn several shades paler than he already was as he clung to Jimmy a bit tighter. Shelby noticed where the two of them were looking, and quickly scrambled over to carefully gather up the corruption and put it in the shulker box.
“Hey, easy, just look at me- you’re okay,” Jimmy soothed, reaching out to gently turn Scott’s head towards him. Scott’s look seemed far away even as he was looking into Jimmy’s eyes, and he squeezed his eyes shut for a moment before blinking them open with a shaky sigh, gaze looking much more focused than before as he leaned his forehead against Jimmy’s.
“I think it’s probably good I’ve only been living off of health potions, pretty sure I would have just lost whatever I would have eaten right then,” Scott got out with a short laugh.
“So… how did you get the corruption out anyway?” Pixl asked after pointedly clearing his throat. Jimmy and Scott jumped slightly, pulling away from each other (but not far enough for Scott to be without standing support) with a pair of sheepish smiles.
“Well I uh. We were fighting, and I might’ve kissed Scott to throw him off, but it ended up being the push to snap him out of it and fight against the corruption,” Jimmy explained with a blush. Scott looked at Jimmy with a perplexed expression.
“Jimmy… I didn’t do anything against the corruption. It- before I woke up with you uh… holding me, the last thing I remembered was losing to another version of myself in some sort of red dreamscape. Your kiss saved me, not anything I did,” Scott explained. A series of adoring coos and gasps sounded from the group, and Jimmy felt his face burn.
“True love was the key this whole time?” Shelby pondered, looking down at the shulker box she held with the now contained corruption.
“Well- I- surely it’s gotta be more than that,” Jimmy managed to get out, feeling incredibly flustered.
“So a mix of love and wills, then. It sounded like Scott maybe could have beaten it on his own, he just needed the extra help!” Shelby replied with a shrug. Scott frowned.
“I don’t know, honestly. The other me- it- he?- was mostly toying with me, I think. Said something about how ‘he’ would be pleased to know that I was specifically under the corruption’s control,” Scott explained shakily.
“He?” Gem asked, brows furrowed in concern.
“The other me referred to some other person that he was sent by, maybe? Then when I asked about who the ‘he’ was, the other me said something about how I didn’t ‘remember’ and how that made me easy to control,” Scott continued.
“The corruption is sentient?!” Shelby gasped, holding the shulker box away from herself.
“And apparently sent by someone else? And seemed to already know you somehow?” Gem pondered. Scott shrugged helplessly.
“I don’t know. All I know is that it’s gone now, and I’m extremely glad for that,” Scott said, voice tight with nerves as the barrage of questions began to overwhelm him.
“And we’re glad you’re okay too!” Katherine piped up, stepping forward with a smile, clearly picking up on Scott’s discomfort. Scott blinked in surprise at her words.
“You.. are?” he asked in disbelief. Katherine just looked as surprised, if not more, than Scott did. The others had a mixture of concern and confusion on their faces as well, and Scott shifted uncomfortably at the attention.
“Why would I not be?” Katherine asked. Scott swallowed nervously.
“I- I knew about Fwhip’s plan for the ball, and didn’t say anything. Your- your castle was destroyed because I was too afraid to do anything about it,” he replied, voice barely above a whisper, as if he was afraid speaking any louder would awaken the wrath of those around him. An almost wounded expression came across Katherine’s face.
“Scott, even if I was still mad at you when we found you lying in front of Gem’s home, I wouldn’t have wanted you to die. Besides, between Fwhip’s gloating monologue and what we knew from what Pearl and Gem had told us, we know that you weren’t exactly a willing participant in Fwhip’s plan,” Katherine said softly, taking a slow step closer to Scott. His wings shifted anxiously, and Jimmy gently squeezed Scott’s arm to comfort him.
“I- you’re not mad?” he asked, voice still hushed and timid. Katherine smiled gently.
“No, I’m not. If castles can be rebuilt, so can friendships,” Katherine replied softly, holding out her arms. Scott barely hesitated at the invitation, letting go of Jimmy to instead hug Katherine tightly. Any remaining tension Scott held seemed to melt away as Katherine hugged him back. He hesitantly drew back after a few moments, a contemplative expression on his face.
“Is something wrong?” Jimmy asked. He reached out towards him, intending to put a comforting hand on his shoulder- but was pleasantly surprised by Scott taking his hand and tugging him closer so that they could stand side-by-side, fingers intertwined. Jimmy felt his face flush, and Scott smirked at him for a brief moment before schooling his expression into something more serious.
“So now that the uh- the corruption is dealt with. For now. Hopefully. Anyway what I’m trying to say is- what do we do about Fwhip and Sausage?” Scott asked. The others exchanged glances, seemingly having an entire conversation without words that Jimmy was hopelessly unable to decipher. Scott didn’t look like he knew what was going on either, and seemed a little apprehensive at that fact.
“We’ll protect you,” Katherine said firmly. The rest of the group nodded in agreement. Jimmy found himself nodding too- and to his shock, Scott seemed a little flustered.
“I- that’s a nice gesture, but not really what I meant- I was talking about them in a more general sense, not just if they try to come after me specifically. Again,” Scott explained with a sheepish laugh.
“Well I can definitely handle whatever they throw at us. Fwhip ran like a coward after I chased him away a few days ago,” Pearl said with a confident grin.
“Sausage won’t be an issue either, not with my magic to defend us!” Gem added.
“If I’m not gonna take out my rage on Scott for playing with Jimmy’s heart, then I guess I can settle for Fwhip or Sausage,” Lizzie said with a shrug. Scott paled slightly, and Jimmy frowned at Lizzie with a disapproving glare.
“Lizzie, you don’t need to be mad at him anymore, we made up!” Jimmy protested, raising their joined hands as proof.
“Think a little more than that happened,” Pixl commented dryly. Joel let out a laugh that he was quick to stifle, pushing at Pixl with one hand while covering his mouth with the other. Lizzie rolled her eyes at the two of them before looking at Jimmy again.
“Well I’m not mad because of that, but how do I know he’s good enough for you?” Lizzie said, glaring at Scott in a way that Jimmy could tell was playful, but Scott didn’t seem to realize that, wings stiffening before relaxing as he took a deep breath.
“I know I have a lot to make up for. And I know it’s not gonna be as easy as me nearly dying on you all to gain your trust again. But I’m willing to make an effort-” Scott paused, looking at Jimmy the gentlest he ever had, the ice in his eyes melting for Jimmy and for Jimmy alone- “because he’s worth it.”
“Scott…” Jimmy trailed off, unsure of what to say after all of that. Scott just smiled at him and squeezed his hand. Lizzie just blinked at them, dumbfounded for a moment.
“I was mostly just messing with you, but… I’m glad to know that you’re serious about him,” Lizzie said with a smile. Scott let out a breath of relief, smiling back before his expression settled into something more resolute.
“Speaking of serious, we should probably discuss more concrete defense plans in case of any other sort of attack from Fwhip and Sausage,” Scott said. Various sounds and mutters of agreement filled the room, and they began discussing defensive strategies- things like making moats, building walls, and sharpening their fighting skills. Jimmy didn’t contribute much to the conversation, not that he exactly had much to offer- but even if he did, he was too busy listening to Scott with rapt attention, a smitten expression on his face all the while.

the potential for chaos
For the anon who asked about Yule Ball Flintwood, this is a beginning of sorts for you. This didn’t turn out the way I anticipated originally when you presented the concept, so I offer this as version 1.0 with something softer to follow.
pairing: Marcus Flint x Oliver Wood
premise: Marcus shows up to the Yule Ball solo. So does Oliver. Neither one is especially pleased about it, and the reasons why are personal.
wordcount: 2,194 words.
The Yule Ball. Welcome to the distinct scent of too much teenage desperation in one room.
The snide thought belonged to Marcus Flint, whose dress robes fit just fine, thanks very much, not that the same could be said of some of the people attending. Weasley the younger, for example, looked like a cat crawled onto the front of his robes, rolled around, and then obligingly threw up a lacy hairball before departing. Marcus’ were, shockingly, not green, because Slytherins were in fact capable of wearing colours that weren’t the house colours. Instead, he’d gone for navy blue, and they were tailored to fit. For now, he was leaning with his right shoulder firmly parked against a nearby wall, drink in hand (liberally spiked, courtesy of Pucey’s far too innocent face which had successfully hidden very good Firewhiskey somewhere on his person), and settling into the buzz around him.
He was razor-edged, dark hair and sharp jawline identifying him in the shadows, gaze steady still despite the warm burn of the Firewhiskey, and the growing warmth of the room. The music was alright, he supposed. He could work with this. He could especially work without being forced to find a date he didn’t like just to fit in, because no one dared give him crap about it. That left him with a sour thought of a very different kind he’d already decided not to dwell on. A lot of other people were on the dancefloor, but he was good right where he was, absorbing the potential for chaos and waiting for the lights to go just a little lower and darker. That was more his speed.
Unfortunately, someone else didn’t seem to care what his speed was, when they came up behind him and spoke into his ear. “You look bored, Flint. Looking for someone?”
Marcus didn’t even turn his head, simply took a sip of his drink. “Hardly. You evidently were, if you spotted me back here. Shouldn’t you be with your date, Wood? I’m sure you had a list of invites to choose from.” The words were cool and more than a little antagonistic, holding the pointed hint that he’d been fine by himself, and that Wood was welcome to leave him be now.
The other boy didn’t so much as take the hint, instead spoke more quietly, that hint of Glasgow burr there and gravelly in his ear. “Didn’t accept an invite, so no date. You?”
A little more to drink, but then he caught a hint of Firewhiskey that distinctly wasn’t from him. “So, you’ve also been in a corner drinking from whatever enchanted hipflask you and your mates in Gryffindor came up with, then,” he observed dryly. “Please to Merlin tell me at least that it’s not one with someone’s initials on it for when they inevitably drop and lose it later, at least.”
There was a very nearly painful silence then, and Marcus snorted, soft but still audible. “It figures.” It really, really did. “You know, it’s good form to at least cast a charm to hide the initials, Wood. I’m assuming it at least doesn’t belong to you.”
“You didn’t answer my question.”
Marcus usually had to shut his eyes and count to ten before he bit the offending person’s head off and told them to mind their business at this stage. The Firewhiskey mellowed him out enough that it took away the edge to some degree, but it was still there.
“Good observation skills there, Wood,” he remarked, aware of other people potentially in earshot. “It’s almost as though it’s not really any of your business. Which it isn’t. But since you apparently can’t let it drop, I chose to attend solo. This is like a knock-off of all the same stuff that half of us deal with on holidays anyway.” The curse of the Sacred 28, old pureblood family gatherings and traditions and parties littered every holiday throughout the year. Inevitably, they all found ways of coping with the boredom after the age of fifteen, and usually that involved finding substances or decent company (preferably both) and vanishing from the scene entirely once it was deemed polite.
Wood moved in front of him then, there in the corner, solidly built shoulders blocking the rest of the room, mirroring the way Marcus leaned against the wall. He didn’t have any choice but to look at him then, and could only be grateful that the warm breath into his ear had stopped. If it hadn’t, he might have had to think too hard about how it made him feel, and he really didn’t want to right now.
“So you didn’t come with anyone.” It seemed like Wood was trying to make a point, but Marcus couldn’t tell what. It was frustrating, so rather than focus on that, he looked at the boy in front of him instead. He’d been lanky when they were younger, a bit skinny and coltish, but Quidditch had bulked him out and he was solidly built now at seventeen. And then there was the choice of dress robes; apparently he wasn’t the only one who made use of a tailor for once. That was a fine outline right there.
Realising he was admiring the view and that that wouldn’t do given the reason why he was in a mood in the first place, Marcus exhaled a sigh. “Obviously. What do you want, Wood?”
Wood seemed to realise he only had a finite amount of patience. That was a years overdue realisation as far as Marcus was concerned. “To dance with you.”
That made Marcus stare for a few seconds. Seeming to register that he wasn’t going to get a response unless he pushed, Oliver tilted his head at him. “One dance, Marcus. Something slow. We can stay right here in the corner for all I care, since you seem to prefer lurking in the shadows.” Then brown eyes examined him far too closely, his lips curled up into a smile that held just a hint of smirk at the edges. “Presuming you’re not too caught up in posing and sulking, of course.”
Oliver was crowding him now, just a little, and Marcus wasn’t entirely certain how he felt about it yet. His immediate response was no longer to punch the other boy in the face, that had been gone for a long while, so that was progress. “You can’t hold your Firewhiskey and you’re seriously misreading things, if that’s the best offer you can give me,” he pointed out bluntly. “So if you don’t mind, I’ll continue minding my own business right where I am. Lurking in the shadows.” That was when he leaned back and away, and took another sip of his drink. No one could see them back here. That thought made his pulse race.
Oliver (Wood, his mind stubbornly reminded him, trying to hang onto it) wasn’t necessarily going to just leave him alone, though, or so it appeared. “Then come out of here with me for a minute,” he said, voice quiet but still carrying through the space between them. “I want to talk to you about something.”
Marcus sighed exasperatedly, and drained what was left in the cup. Obligingly, it vanished the moment he set it down on a nearby table, and at this point, he’d given up arguing with Oliver. “Fine. You get two minutes.”
Once they did get outside, though, Marcus hadn’t quite registered just how much Oliver intended to make the most of those two minutes. He found himself rapidly dragged around a corner and pressed into an alcove hidden behind a statue that he hadn’t even known was there. When he went to ask what the fuck, Oliver put a hand over his mouth. “Shh, someone will hear.”
Beyond annoyed and now suspecting where this was going, neither of which he enjoyed, Marcus dragged Oliver’s hand off his mouth and hissed his next words. “What are you doing?”
Earnest brown eyes were fixed on him then, and this time, Marcus couldn’t get away or give him the cold shoulder. “Are you seriously still mad that someone tried to ask me to this thing?”
Marcus gave him a truly evil glare then. “You mean, am I pleased that someone else asked the person I’m not allowed to walk down the corridor with? I’m absolutely thrilled. Someone else walks up to you and asks right where I can hear; I kiss you in dark corners and Quidditch changing rooms for three months and get ignored when convenient.” The tone was flat, but the sarcasm wasn’t.
He saw Oliver wince, and then, completely annoyed and altogether done with the conversation, Marcus went to shoulder past him. Instead, he found himself pushed back into the stone, found himself being kissed, and he wasn’t letting Oliver think that was the last word on it. He wasn’t about to be lulled into compliance. Rather than lean into it, instead, he nipped the other’s bottom lip sharply, just enough to make him feel it, a kiss like a warning, before he reached up and sunk his fingers into his hair.
If he couldn’t have the evening, he was going to make sure Oliver went back with bruised, swollen lips, hair a mess, and every possible hallmark to show that he’d vanished with someone. Let everyone wonder who.
That it changed when Oliver seemed to yield, to surrender to being kissed rather than one doing the kissing didn’t escape Marcus either. It wasn’t until he could feel him trembling that Marcus released him, leaving him looking faintly dizzy where he stood. He smoothed out his robes then, slow and insouciant, enough to make Oliver watch the trail of his hands. “I’m not going to take whatever scraps you decide to throw me and be happy that’s all I get,” he said, words short, making sure they landed home. This was probably one of the worst sides of him. “You don’t act like it, so you don’t get to call me yours. Because I’m not.” Wasn’t that just the biggest lie he’d ever told, but it was supposed to be, because he was doing it purely to be mean and he knew it.
He lifted his thumb to the corner of his mouth then ran it along to the middle of his own lower lip, as though he could taste Oliver there. He could, Firewhiskey and everything that had become so familiar since they first crashed into trying to understand what this was. The reason he really did it, though, was to be a little bit cruel, to watch Oliver’s pupils dilate some more, to see him want to close the distance again, and then to deny him. Or at least, that’s the intention, right up until Oliver shakes his head. “Merlin help me you’re impossible sometimes,” was the set of words bitten out. “I was trying to apologise. To tell you that I only wanted to go with you, but I also wanted to protect this because it’s ours and people are incredibly nosy. I’m not ashamed of what we’re doing. You might not be mine, but I want you to be.”
Those were a set of words that Marcus badly wanted to be true, and it was enough to stop him cold, to make him rein in the sulking (if he was honest about what he’d been doing, that was it) and register them. The attempts to deflect hard that his feelings had actually been hurt had all ultimately proven to be unsuccessful, and he knew better than to use kissing as a weapon, it too often backfired and this was very much a case in point.
As though Oliver sensed the weakness somehow, damn him for it, the next time he was being touched was much gentler. “We could dance right here, if you wanted.” The words were breathed between them. That was when Marcus realised that they could still hear the music from the hall.
He made a decision. “Nah,” he said, not hesitating to turn down the suggestion. “Come on. Let’s go back inside.” He gave Oliver a pointed look then, and threw down the gauntlet. “Together.” It was a ceasefire, or the closest that they’d get, because they still needed to talk about the actual feelings involved at some point.
There was no phasing a Gryffindor with that kind of challenge, though, so Oliver didn’t even bat an eyelid. Show them anything like a bet you can’t and they immediately decided that not only could they, but screw you who says I can’t. The only reply Marcus got was a hand in his. It turned out he did want to kiss Oliver softly then, so it still took a few minutes longer for them to get back to the hall. When they did, the night sky that illuminated the ceiling had darkened to hold a spill of stars, and the lights had gone down to something far lower and barely there.
Oliver got his one dance. What he also got was a truth in his ear. “I’m only yours if you’re mine. Non-negotiable. What about it?”
The night wasn’t over yet.

Tidy Sums
Tumblr media
Summary: Sophie Mason (OC) was John Shelby’s first friend and his first kiss. They’d never been in love, not in the way he’d been in love with Martha. Their relationship wasn’t quite so tidy, but that had never stopped them from loving one another in their own way and finding their own happiness in the mayhem.
Characters: John Shelby and Sophie (OC)
Warnings: canon-content, mention of a sexual relationship, kissing/ touching.
--
If Sophie was being honest, and honest was something she usually was, the problem was quite simple.
The numbers no longer made sense.
They hadn't for some time now, the figures blurring together with the lines meant to keep each transaction separate, the columns and neat symbols representing the company's wins and losses jumbled in her mind although the tidy sums were somehow still accumulating on the bottom of every page.
Sophie had been working with the betting shop's books for years now, more familiar with the content of the ledgers than she was with any other book she’d come across—the bible or the latest popular novel she’d taken out from the central library. She supposed the only other pages she knew as well as the ledgers were those of the children’s book John’s kids begged after anytime she sat for them, refusing sleep until they heard a tale from the old, worn tome that was so well-loved it was missing the cover page. Sophie could probably recite the story from memory, but she had no ideas about its proper title, not with the kids referring to it exclusively as “daddy’s story.”
Sophie had worked for the Shelby family in a somewhat official capacity since leaving school almost a decade earlier, but she had had her nose in their books for longer than that, ever since Polly realized the girl had a penchant for numbers. And it was Sophie who encouraged John to get involved with this side of the business when they were only fourteen, convincing him easily enough that the pair of them could get up to the same amount of fun in the betting shop as they got up to out on the lane. It was Sophie who had known, despite what his school records had to say on the matter, that John Shelby was good with numbers.
But numbers were cleaner, less bloody, less exciting, and certainly more mentally taxing than playing at peaky boy, or at least mentally taxing in a different way. They had to generate their own sources of amusement within the walls of the betting shop. She and John had always been good at sourcing their own amusement though.
Sophie sat back from the books, taking a moment to rub her eyes with the heels of her palms. It was late. Scudboat and the twins had already gone, and John had locked her in when he went home to check on his lot, saying he’d be back to let her out and lock up once he got his kids down for the night.
That was their routine these days. She’d spend an extra couple of hours each night with the books while John stole an extra couple of hours with his kids before putting them down for bed and coming back to number six to wrap things up for the night.
She startled a bit when John’s hands found her arms, his rough palms pinching and rubbing against the delicate fabric of her shirt. She settled as the warmth of his hands came through her thin sleeves and sunk into her skin, finally leaning her head back to rest against his stomach, tilting her eyes up to him briefly as the left side of her mouth pulled up.
“Devils went down early tonight,” she said.
He’d been gone for less than an hour. It was usually twice that before he made his way back and his return was usually accompanied with some sort of complaint about the kids’ behavior, about their refusal to go to sleep or eat the dinner he made them, something Sophie was always quick to remind him was simple coded behavior for them wanting more time with their father and being uncertain of a better way to go about it.
“Finn’s on devil duty for the night.” John shrugged. “Says he’s saving up for something, so he’s eager for the pocket money.”
Sophie hummed, tilting her head back down to the books as she picked up her pen once more. “A little devil put on devil duty,” she mused. “I’m sure that will turn out well.”
“I think you’ll find most of us Shelbys are devils,” John said.
“I don’t...” she started, pausing both her hand and her mouth as John’s fingers traveled up her arm, fingertips slipping across the smooth skin of her exposed collarbone and then her neck as he pushed her hair aside.
She tried again. “I don’t intend...”
Sophie gulped, stilling for a moment as John’s lips found her neck. A deep breath came from her in a nearly involuntary capacity and her shoulders relaxed back. She was overcome by his slow focus, overcome by the simple way John could tease her. Despite his leisurely wandering, they both knew he was venturing towards the one spot he knew could have her entirely undone, have her forgetting her words and how to properly breathe, obliterating from memory the notion of responsibility and the company books entirely.
“Don’t intend to what?” John mumbled the words against her skin as she tilted her head, exposing her neck as his fingers wound in her hair.
“Fuck,” she breathed as his lips found her earlobe, his warm breath melting any remaining resolve as her back arched away from the chair.
“No, John, stop.”
John released her from his lips, straightening his back, and turning her face to his with the hand still entwined in her hair, the guidance gentle yet resolute.
“You really want me to stop?”
Her skin burned hot and her breaths had started to come a bit quicker, more shallow and less gratifying in meeting her need for air, her need for calm and control and the mysterious power she knew a steady cadence of breaths could hold. Sophie forced herself to deepen her inhale and pause before the exhale, forced herself to calm her racing heart and quell the more instinctual desire stirring inside of her, willing her mind and body to focus...on anything other than John.
“I want,” she started after a barely sufficient cycle of inhales and exhales, reaching up to wrap her hand around John’s forearm, “for you to let me finish these ledgers so your aunt doesn’t issue me a death warrant.”
John sighed and rolled his eyes at the protest but removed his hand from her hair at the gentle nudge.
“Or a boot. Or a smack upside the head,” Sophie continued, pulling a hair comb from her desk drawer and initiating some attempt at getting the hair out of her face, “or whatever retribution it is she’s offering us these days.”
“Pol won’t come after you like that,” John said.
“She’s done it before.”
“That woman hit you once, almost fifteen years ago, and we both deserved it that day. Scared the shit out of her playing in the Cut like that.” John rocked on the balls of his feet for a moment, thinking on the whiskey and cigars tucked away in his office before deciding to forgo both vices for now. “Anyway, we’re not kids anymore.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Pretty sure Aunt Polly smacked you upside the head just last week.”
“Well, that’s me, not you,” he said. “She’s got a soft spot for you.”
“All the more reason not to chance it, then. One go around with her was more than enough for me,” she answered, finally succeeding at securing the bulk of her hair up, the loose bits falling back into her face just a few seconds after she tucked them away.
John laughed as he moved to sit against the desk, crossing his arms across his chest. “Well, what if—”
“No, John. No what-ifs…What-ifs and…” Sophie glanced up at him, regretting it even before she met his mischievous eyes, lamenting the decision as soon as she caught sight of his lips, swollen and reddened from his previous endeavors. “What-ifs and that fucking smirk are what made me fall behind to begin with.”
John chuckled. “You’re behind because you like doing me more than you like doing the books.”
She sat back in her chair, arms folding across her chest as she looked at John, his body shaking slightly with the laughter he only half-heartedly tried to contain. “You think so?”
“Seems like it. You were very diligent back when you were stepping out with that dim bloke. The one with the sweaty hands?”
Sophie leaned forward just an inch and John held up a hand. “Now, don’t you go smacking me, too. You can’t dispute it because you told me yourself.”
“This has nothing to do with Phillip’s sweaty hands,” she said, smirking back at John. “Maybe I’m behind because my boss is a hard ass who has put too much on my plate and not enough on theirs?”
John nodded like he was considering her words. “You know, I wouldn’t let Aunt Pol hear you speaking ill of her like that if I was you.”
Sophie rolled her eyes. “I'm talking about you and you know it. I’m here late every night and you leave early every day to go home to those kids.”
John shrugged. “If you don’t want to be here every night with the books, you’re more than welcome to go mother my lot and make us dinner.”
She frowned as he said it, sighing as his playful demeanor didn’t quite stick, the note of his words far too hopeful and desperate and longing.
“I don’t want to be a mother, John,” she said. “And you know I’m a shit cook.”
Sophie had made that much clear to him over the last year, both the bit about the mothering and the bit about the cooking. She was good with the kids, and would gladly watch them for a few hours or so when he needed, but she had no desire to raise a hoard of children, or even one child. Not someone else’s, and not one of her own either. She had other aspirations and they didn’t involve being tied to a home and a child, or even to a man.
“I’m perfectly content being an almost auntie. I’m good with children so long as they go back to their parents when all is said and done.”
“And the cooking?”
“You really want me cooking for you?”
“No, you’re right. You’re rubbish in a kitchen,” he said before picking up the tube of lipstick set on her desk. “You’re their favorite auntie though,” John continued, fidgeting with the tube as he spoke. The thing went unused nearly every day now that she was working late, passing the bulk of her evenings at the shop with John instead of out at a pub or dance hall, but the thing still sat on her desk just in case, a gentle reminder of the types of nights she used to have.
“They’re always fucking asking after you,” he said.
Sophie pulled her eyes away from his hands to observe his face. “Well, they take after their father then because you can’t seem to get enough of me either.”
Sophie pushed some strands of hair from her face, only causing more to come loose from the hair comb. She pulled the whole thing out and began twisting her tresses up again as she continued speaking. “Constantly bothering me… keeping me from my work… never ending nonsense and devilment.”
John snorted and pushed himself off the desk, taking the hair from her hands.
“What are you doing?”
Sophie turned towards him and John planted his hands on her shoulders, twisting her so she faced away from him once again.
“Fixing your hair so you can focus on your work, so do us both a favor and sit still,” he said, combing his fingers through her hair to release the knots, the nails of his fingers grazing her scalp as he swept the hair back from her face.
“That’s not going to help me focus on my work,” she muttered as he began weaving her hair, the ritual a calming one, nostalgic even, reminding her of her youth, reminding her of when she had someone to plait her hair. Sophie hadn’t worn a braid in years. She was skilled at braiding other people’s hair, but she had never learned how to manage her own.
“No?” John asked. “You’ve got two free hands and two working eyes while I’m doing this. No reason you can’t be adding and subtracting right now.”
She shook her head and John tugged the strands between his fingers tight, eliciting a howl as she reached her hand back.
“What the hell?”
“Sit still,” John said, smiling into the words as he continued with his work.
“Don’t pull my fucking hair.”
He pulled the strands tight once again, laughter spilling from his lips before she even had a chance to react.
“I told you to sit still. You’re worse than Katie. Never have to tug on her braid more than once to get her to settle.”
Sophie huffed but followed his directive, knowing there was less than a minute left of John’s undertaking, and knowing he would have no qualms about tugging her hair again.
“Remember how we said we’d get married if we both weren’t married by the time one of us turned twenty-five?”
A part of Sophie wanted to look at him, wanted to turn her head and meet his eye, to see what kind of expression graced his face while he brought up the pact from almost fifteen years ago, a silly agreement made between two kids who knew absolutely nothing of life, but John had told her to sit still, so while she felt his hands still winding in her hair, she did just that.
“You’re turning twenty-five next month,” he said, finally tying off the braid. John stepped to the side, resuming his seat on her desk.
“You’re very good at that,” she commented.
“Good at what?”
She pulled the braid over her shoulder, admiring its neatness. “The braid. You’ve gotten good. You used to be quite abysmal with it.”
“You taught me well, I guess.” John rolled his eyes. “You had more patience with me than Martha did.”
“Well, could you really blame her? You were a horrible student, all fumbling hands and that fucking cheeky mouth running the whole time for no good reason.”
John smiled. “And you’ve gotten quite good at that,” he said.
“Good at what?” she asked.
“Changing the fucking subject.”
She sighed as she dropped the braid and looked at him. “We’re not getting married, John. Not because of some silly pact and not because your kids need a mother.”
“What if it’s because we like each other?” he asked, tugging her up to stand between his legs. “What if it’s because we love each other, eh?”
She chewed on her bottom lip and looked away, fighting only a bit when his hand caught her chin and tilted it towards his face.
“You do love me, don’t you?”
“You know I do,” she said, “but not like you’re asking. And you don’t love me like that either.”
“Love is love.”
She shook her head. “We love like friends.”
“Friends love like this?” John glanced down and Sophie’s eyes followed his gaze to see how their bodies were wrapped up together. Her hand had settled on his thigh, his on her hip, with both of their fingers idly caressing clothing seams while they were each thinking of caressing the skin beneath.
“Attraction and romantic love are different things, John.”
Sophie was always saying it, and he liked to argue with her even though he knew it was at least a bit true. John knew they were friends who happened to be physically attracted to one another, and maybe, if he’d never fallen in love with Martha, or maybe if he’d never had kids, or if Sophie had not gotten so close with Martha in the years he’d been away, things could be different, but as it was, Sophie was right and John knew it. Because he didn’t feel about her the same way he’d felt about Martha and she didn’t feel that way about him either.
Their relationship was a combination of friendly care and sexual attraction and the type of love that came from knowing someone for as long as it was possible to know another person who wasn’t truly family, but there wasn’t a true bit of romantic desire between them.
“And I don’t want to be what you need your woman to be. You and the kids deserve someone who wants that life.”
“And what happens when I find someone who wants that life?”
“What always happens,” she said with a shrug, “we stop this and I catch up on the books.”
“Is that what you want?”
Sophie was telling the truth, but she hesitated anyway. This was the longest stretch they’d done this, the longest stretch during which she’d not bothered with dates, and if nothing else, it was habit now, their ritual. It was a comfort. But if John found someone he wanted to settle down with, Sophie knew they’d put a stop to things, same as they’d done all those years ago when he fell in love with Martha and same as they’d done earlier this year when she’d decided to go on a few dates with Harvey Johnson or a few months later when she’d agreed to see Phillip Miller a few times.
It hadn’t bothered Sophie when he was with Martha, and though John had teased her about the men she’d chosen to step out with over the last year, he hadn’t seemed too bothered by it either, more concerned with expressing what he’d do to the men if she came out of it hurt. Sophie knew from experience they could simply stop.
Stop the flirting.
Stop the kissing and the sex and the nonsensical talk of being anything more than friends.
They could stop with the rest of it and still be friends.
John wrapped his hand around Sophie’s braid, giving it a small tug to pull her attention back to him.
“Quit pulling my fucking hair.”
“It’s the only thing that ever makes you listen,” he said, tightening his hold a bit. “And I know you like it.”
“And the only thing that ever makes you listen—”
John caught her hand before she could reach high enough to smack him upside the head. “I’m listening. Answer the question.”
“I already told you what I want,” she said, nodding towards the open ledger beside him. “To spare myself a lecture, hell, probably two lectures if Polly decides to let Tom know we’re behind, too. Your brother’s in a right fucking mood lately.”
“Is that what you want? The end of this?” John asked, glazing over her chastising him about pulling her hair and her concerns about lectures and the hand she’d raised to smack him upside the head.
Sophie shrugged, pulling her hand loose from his hold and absently rubbing at her wrist as she leaned against his leg.
“C’mon Soph, I’m being serious.”
She pushed her finger into the corner of John’s frowning mouth, forcing a half smile. “John Shelby doesn’t do serious.”
John moved her hand away from his face. “I’m doing serious right now.”
“Fine, John. I want to be happy. And I want you and the kids to be happy,” she said, turning towards him straight on and resting both hands on his thighs. “And someday that may mean you have someone to go home to, and those babies won’t be looked after by another baby, but for now, that means we do this whenever we can.
“I have to finish this work first though.”
Sophie kissed him on the cheek then, squeezing his thighs once before she moved to sit back down, but John caught her at the elbow, holding her there in front of him.
“What about you?”
She tried to pull out of his grasp, but John only gripped tighter and drew her closer.
Sophie rolled her eyes. “What about me?”
“I didn’t hear anything about getting you your happiness.”
“I’m plenty happy, John,” she said.
He raised an eyebrow.
“You want the truth?”
John nodded, his hands slipping down her arms to hold her hands. She sighed, looking down at their hands entwined there together.
The truth was Sophie was happy. The truth was she had always been happy with what they were and what they weren’t, content with the sum of things though it was by no means tidy like the lines of the ledger books they spent their days looking over.
“The truth is I think if you don’t let me finish these books I might not know happiness ever again,” she said, slipping her hands from his and stepping out from between his legs.
John pulled her back to him before she could slip into the chair though, reaching his arms around her body and wrapping his legs around hers, trapping her against him. “Well, if that’s the case, we’d better make sure you get your fill of happiness now then, eh?”

The Irreplaceable Charlie Weasley: Pt. 7, Ch. 1
PART 7: THE YEAR OF HIDING AND PASSION Chapter 1 - We Suck at Hiding
Nova
I don't know what I was thinking when I thought that once we get to the Burrow we won't have to hide as much. Did I forget that Charlie has a big family?
The second I walked through the door Ginny was all over me, followed by Ron. I have missed them so much! I looked around and was a little disappointed when I haven't seen another friendly face that I have been missing very much.
Charlie helped me take my stuff into Ginny's room and I know he was hoping to sneak in a kiss but Ginny was glued to my side. I mouthed later and went back down with her. She was showing me a book Arthur gave her. Apparently, it contained Muggle Fairytales and I couldn't help but be intrigued.
I still didn't feel right and was slightly uncomfortable. I felt part of the family for years now but it was different now that Charlie and I were together. It was more serious and I felt bad that we had to lie to our families.
That night, I had to tell Molly and Ginny all about my dress for the Ball and how it was. I knew I was blushing while talking about it, it was the best night of my life. I hated myself for lying to them, telling them we only danced when so much more happened but I knew we weren't ready to tell them.
After the twins, Ron and Ginny went to bed and Charlie wasn't in the living room I decided to go out and get some air. I sat on the bench right outside the house. I was still feeling down and I didn't know why. I loved spending time at the Burrow but I felt like I was missing something.
“Evening.” Charlie whispered and bestowed me the sweetest smile. “May I join you?” I nodded and he sat down next to me and pulled me in a half hug.
“Charlie, we have to be careful.” I pulled away from him and looked through the window if someone could see us.
“Relax, most of them are upstairs and they are used to us hugging.” He turned my head so I had to look him in the eyes.
“What's wrong?” He asked, concerned.
“I don't know. I just feel so weird.” I answered honestly.
“You hate lying to my family, too.” He said, gently. He knew me so well and I was happy he had the same opinion.
“I just love them all so much and I hated the fact that all I wanted to do was talk about how we got together at the Ball with your mum and Ginny but I just went on and on how good of a dancer you are.” I frowned. He was a good dancer but that didn't make it easier.
“I don't like it, either. But I think it's too soon to tell them.” He lowered his head.
“It is. It's just...” I lifted his chin. I loved his eyes so much. “Usually when you start dating someone you bring them to meet your family for the first time.” I chuckled. “I already feel a part of it for a very long time.” A big smile spread across his face.
“Bill was right when he said that I will make you a Weasley one day.” He leaned towards me and placed a gentle kiss on my lips.
“Bill.” That was it! I knew why I was so down!
“Saying my brother's name when I kiss you is not exactly a big turn-on.” He pulled away and looked bemused.
“I'm sorry.” I chuckled. “I have been trying to figure out all day why I felt so weird and now that you said his name I remembered.” I explained.
“You miss him, don't you?” He said gently. “I miss him too.”
“I was just so used to having him around you know and the three of us always had such amazing conversations and I know he's in Egypt but I was secretly hoping...”
“I know.” Charlie stopped me and hugged me. “I was hoping he would be here too.”
We stayed embraced and looked at the stars in silence. I felt better talking to him, I always did. I think I was still processing the whole thing that we were not just friends anymore but that I can still talk to him as to my best friend.
“It's getting late. Mum would kill us if she finds us out of bed.” He chuckled.
“We should meet like this every night.” I turned to him and kissed him. “Might just be the only time we get a chance to kiss.” I smiled weakly. I missed him. I wanted to go to his room and fall asleep in his arms like that one time when I had a nightmare about my dad.
“We can and we shall.” He grinned. “I'm leaving in a few days though.” I knew he was trying to hide his excitement because he knew how much I will miss him while he is in Romania.
“Char, it's okay to be excited!” I ruffled his hair. “I know how long you have been waiting for this.”
“Almost as long as I waited for you.” He was so sweet and for that sentence alone we had to prolong us sitting on the bench for another half an hour. I had to get in as many kisses as I could.
The day of Charlie's departure has arrived. I just got accustomed to everything and was finally feeling myself again and now he would have to leave. I knew we still had an entire month once he comes back but at this point, I was more jealous than anything else.
“Did you pack warm clothes, dear?” Molly was bombarding him with questions the entire morning and I just sat in the kitchen and laughed while he rolled his eyes at her.
“Your boots? Your wand?” Molly kept closing her eyes to think of more things Charlie could forget.
“Mum, I got everything, don't worry.” He was so nice to her. I know she got on his nerves sometimes but I know he appreciated everything she did for him. “Can I say goodbye to my best friend now?” He looked at me.
He hasn't called me that in months. Molly beamed and looked at me then back at Charlie and she gave him a little wink. Then she whispered something that sounded like 'I love you, be safe' and she left the kitchen.
“Well, this is it!” He exclaimed. We had a fight a few nights ago where I scolded him that he shouldn't hide his excitement for something that has been a dream of his for so long, so he finally gave in and I have been listening to nothing else but the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary ever since and I couldn't be happier about it. Listening to him talk with such passion about Dragons was something I could do all day every day.
“Be safe and watch yourself.” I got up and put my hands on his shoulders. “Write to me as often as you can but most importantly...have fun, Char.” I pulled him in a tight hug and he returned it. I waited a moment. I wanted to remember his touch and his smell. Luckily, he smelled like the Burrow, so something will stay with me.
“Thank you, Nova.” He whispered. “For everything.” He turned around to see if anyone was watching and kissed me tenderly. I have to remember that feeling too.
The first week after Charlie left, I missed him so much. Ginny and Ron distracted me to the most of their abilities but the house just felt so empty without him. The next week was easier and I couldn't believe how much I felt like part of the family. I helped Molly around the house and I talked to Arthur about all the Muggle things Penny told me about and he showed me this book about Muggle inventions and we compared them to Magical objects.
I played Quidditch with Fred against George and Ron and one night I snuck out with Ginny, when we were already supposed to be sleeping so that I could show her how to fly. She was over the roof about it and I knew she was happy she had a girl in the house.
I even got a bit closer to Percy as I was reading a book about spells and he sat down next to me on the sofa.
“Hi, Perce. Want to read with me?” I looked at him and smiled.
“Not really.” He said but I could see him eyeing the book with interest.
“Perce, I know we don't talk often but we can read together.” I raised an eyebrow at him, indicating this is his final chance.
“Fine.” He said and rolled his eyes at me.
We sat on that sofa for longer than I initially intended. He got so into the book that I couldn't take it away from him and he had so many questions and I was glad that I had the answers to them because I knew this was probably the only chance for me to bond with him. Now that Charlie was my boyfriend, it was important to me to befriend all his family members even more than before.
Charlie was right when he said that I won't even have the time to miss him. The last day of July was here and I didn't even know where the month went. I was so busy hanging out with his family that I barely had the time to write him back!
Ginny and I played outside or read books together or I talked about Hogwarts. I finally beat Ron at chess and I couldn't wait to tell Charlie about it. It was only one game in the entire month, but it was my proudest achievement. Even Ron was happy for me and said that I won fair and square even though I had a feeling he wasn't trying that much.
I wrote to Penny and she sent me a couple of Muggle books and I gave them to Arthur and of course, we had to discuss those in great detail. I was also interested in everything Muggle as their technology was just as fascinating to me as Magic had to be to them, if they knew about it, of course.
I thought I lost Percy when I gave him two of my books and he shut himself into his room. But only an hour later he came back with one of his books for which he was sure I haven't read before and we sat on the sofa, reading together. That made me miss Charlie the most. We used to do nothing else but read books by the Lake and I was happy Percy was there to keep me company.
After two pranks Fred and George pulled on me, I decided to stay as far away from them as possible. Except when we were playing Quidditch, those two were getting really good and I knew I was going to recommend them to Charlie to put them on his team this year.
I woke up early the morning Charlie was coming back. I couldn't sleep, I was so excited to finally see him. I missed his face, his freckles, his lips, and his touch and I couldn't wait for him to tell me all about his new part-time job soon to be full-time.
I knew it was early because the whole house was still quiet so I decided to go down and make breakfast for everyone.
“Nova, dear, what are you doing?” Molly came down the stairs as I was making eggs, still in her nightgown.
“I thought I would make breakfast today, you have enough trouble as it is.” I smiled. She was preparing a big dinner with 3 different desserts as she was sure that they didn't give Charlie anything to eat in the Sanctuary.
“You are amazing, do you know that.” She sat down and I brewed her some tea.
“Mind if I ask you a question?” She said after I sat down next to her. I nodded.
“I know it's strange to talk to me about these things but you are so good with all my sons and Ginny adores you more than anyone.” She put her hand on mine and I blushed. I knew where this was going and I didn't know what I was supposed to do.
“Are you and Charlie really just friends?” She asked, hopeful that I would give her anything but a no.
I was conflicted. I wanted to tell her but I knew Charlie wanted to wait and he should be the one to tell his family.
“It's not the right time.” I had no idea what I meant by that but I couldn't lie to her and just say no. I wanted to let her know that she can be hopeful but that we can't talk about it.
“But you do fancy him?” She apparently understood what I meant. Her eyes were sparkling.
“I do but it's complicated. We're best friends.” I wasn't lying. That's how I felt for a long time. I just wasn't giving her the right time frame of events.
“I know, I know. I don't mean to rush you.” She stroke my hand. “Charlie is just such a sweet boy and you can see that he is different from the rest.” She sighed. “I always felt like we all misunderstood him no matter how much we tried with buying him books about Dragons and all of that.” She swung her hand and I chuckled.
“And then you came along and it was like a whole new world has opened up to him.” She gestured with her hands. “That Summer after your First Year it was the first time he talked about something else than Dragons.” She giggled and the heat on my cheeks was getting stronger.
“You are just such good friends and I see there is something between you two and I know it shouldn't be any of my business but perhaps a gentle nudge would help you see that you two could be something more.” She pulled me into a tight hug. Charlie's hugs were just like hers, tight and they reminded me of home.
“We'll see how things go.” I smiled. I wanted to give her hope but I didn't want to give anything away. I didn't know what else to say because I was so touched by her words. She wasn't intrusive and she understood that perhaps we might just be friends. She reminded me of Penny and I felt bad thinking that I was lying to her too.
We were just starting dinner when I heard a crackling sound outside the door. Ginny and I exchanged looks and she was already at the door.
“Charlie!” She exclaimed and I heard her jump into his arms. My heart started beating faster and at that moment I realized just how much I missed him. Ron and the twins followed and I decided to wait behind. I was already sad that I won't be able to kiss him and I couldn't wait to go outside after they all go to sleep.
After everyone finally let Charlie inside, our eyes met and I couldn't stop the smile that was spreading across my lips. I ran to him and hugged him tightly. I knew there wasn't going to be anything weird about that.
“Imagine that I kissed you.” He whispered in my ear and I closed my eyes and I did.
After dinner, we all gathered around in the living room. Ron and Ginny between Charlie and me on the sofa. Molly was in her armchair and Arthur was sitting on the side of it. Percy, Fred, and George were on the floor, looking up at Charlie as he started talking about Romania. I could listen to him for hours and I could almost see the sparks coming out of his eyes.
He had an amazing time and he couldn't wait to go back and I was grateful that they allowed him to finish school before he starts to work because I would never forgive myself if he stayed for me and lose the job he talked about with such passion. He had a scratch on his hand that Molly almost lost her head about but I knew he was proud of it and I knew he would get many more when he officially starts working there.
I think we were all looking at him, giving occasional 'oh' and 'aww' here and there, for several hours. It wasn't until Ginny fell asleep on my shoulder that Molly realized what the time was and sent everyone to bed. The twins and Ron groaned and I could see that it meant a lot to Charlie that they wanted to listen about his new job so attentively.
After a lot of bickering and shouting from the two bathrooms, the house finally quieted down. Charlie and I were now alone downstairs.
“Want to go outside?” He said, beaming. I knew he was waiting to kiss me as much as I was waiting for it so I got up without a reply.
“I missed you so much, Nova.” He whispered to me when we sat down and he pulled me into the tightest embrace.
“I missed you too, Char.” I pulled away and pressed my lips against his. There was nothing gentle about that kiss. My feelings for him were growing stronger and I couldn't wait for us to explore our love further.
“I had so much fun but I wished you were there all the time.” He admitted.
“I was so jealous with every letter you wrote to me, I wished to be there too.” I sat on his lap and locked out lips together. I know what he was about to start and I didn't want to talk about it.
Since we were together we started this topic once before and almost ended it in a fight. We knew what was going to happen after our Seventh Year and I really didn't want to think about it. He will move to Romania and I didn't have that much figured out yet. At one point I was thinking of going to America and try and get in touch with Mr. Scamander himself. I talked to Kettleburn on several occasions about it and he also suggested for me to visit some of his colleagues in the USA.
Just thinking about how far apart we would be if I went, was killing me but I wanted to be a Magizoologist, not a Dragonologist. And in a place we were right now, living in a fairytale after being so stubborn not to admit our feelings to one another, I didn't want to talk about it with him. I knew that he was hoping I would change my mind and go with him. What is even worst is that if we do good this year and we keep falling more in love, I'm afraid he won't want to go and I couldn't let that happen.
“Nova...” He gently pulled away from my lips. “You know we have to discuss it eventually.” He said softly. I know he didn't want to just as much as I didn't. I placed my hand over his.
“I know. But I don't want to.” I looked at him. I wanted to spend as much time with him and enjoy every moment before we had to decide what we would do. “I'm not ready to face the facts yet.” My voice broke. He pulled me into a hug.
“Okay. We'll talk when we get there.” He said gently. “I just wish there was something that you could do there as well.”
I didn't say anything, I just pressed myself against him even more. He let out a big sigh and found his way back to my lips. I tried to focus on how soft they were rather than the conversation we avoided yet again.
“Nova?” I froze when I heard the voice. I opened my eyes but was still kissing Charlie. His eyes were opened as well and as we looked at each other in horror, we finally both pulled away. We looked in front of us. There was Ginny with Charlie's old Dragon plushie, in her jammies, her eyes wide open. Shit!
Charlie and I instinctively sat as apart on the bench as we could and Ginny, without saying anything, sat between us. She was too smart for a 9-year-old.
“So.” She cleared her throat. “Did you two just miss each other or are you boyfriend and girlfriend?” She didn't look at neither me nor Charlie. She was looking straight ahead just like we were.
“Ginny, you can't tell anyone.” Charlie tried whispering as gently as possible. “We're not ready to tell everyone.”
“So this wasn't your first kiss?” Charlie put his hand over her mouth as she almost shouted out the question.
“Shhh!” She giggled and Charlie lowered his hand. “No. We are dating for a few months now.” He looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. There wasn't really anything we could do. She was old enough to know that best friends don't kiss like that.
I felt her shaking next to me and I knew she wanted to burst from excitement. I stood up and kneeled before her, Charlie followed my lead.
“Listen, Ginny.” I started. “I know you're excited but you have to keep this a secret.” I pleaded.
“Who else knows?” She narrowed her eyes. She was negotiating.
“Nobody.” Charlie hissed and I poked him with my elbow. “Look, you're the first one, not even our friends know.” He said, gentler this time.
“Nobody?” Ginny gasped. I could see she was proud that she was the first one. “Okay, I will keep your secret.” She smiled and hugged us both.
“Charlie?” She said gently after a moment.
“Hmm?” He and I finally pulled away from her.
“Thank you, for bringing Nova into the family.” I wanted to cry. She said that so genuinely, my heart couldn't take it.
“You're welcome.” He said, proudly. “Now, promise me again. You don't tell anyone, alright?” She nodded and we sat back down.
“Tell anyone what?” Even though Ginny was sitting between us, I felt Charlie stiffen.
“Fuck.” He said under his breath.
“Language, little brother. Not in front of Ginny.” I finally gathered the courage to look at the door.
“Bill!” I hoped that turning the conversation to him and hugging him would make him forget about his question.
I stood up at once and he pulled me into a hug. I missed him so much, I haven't seen him since last June if you don't count that one time in the flames.
“I missed you too, Nova.” He turned to Charlie and Ginny and hugged them both.
I looked at Charlie and saw that he was nervous. Our eyes met and I knew he wanted to be alone with Bill.
“Come on, Ginny. Let me take you back to bed.” I offered Ginny my hand.
“No, I want to listen to you talk!” She protested.
“We are about to have a very grown-up conversation Ginny, so listen to Nova.” Bill said with the most brotherly voice ever and after rolling her eyes, Ginny finally gave in and I took her inside.
Charlie
“So, what did you make Ginny promise not to tell?” Bill sat down next to me and I knew I won't be able to lie to him. And to be honest, I didn't want to. I actually needed some brotherly advice.
“You and Nova are finally together, aren't you?” Apparently, I was quiet for too long and he decided to guess himself.
“What gave us away?” I asked sarcastically and smiled, looking at my knees. Suddenly, I got really shy about it.
“Hmm, where do I start?” He rubbed his chin as if he was thinking hard and I laughed. I missed him so much. “You were best friends since First Year. You told me you have a crush on her almost 2 years ago. Nova told me she fancied you when she talked to me through the flames before the dance in May...” He finally looked at me. “I must be a detective to figure it out.” We both laughed.
“She told you she fancied me?” I was blushing like crazy. I didn't know Bill knew.
“She needed some time but she was obvious before that, anyways.” Bill shook his hand as if he knew for ages that we would end up together. He probably did, we were the only ones who were blind.
“So, let me guess...” I finally looked at him. “The Ball?”
“Yeah.” I couldn't stop the grin from spreading all over my face when I remembered how happy I was when we kissed for the first time.
“I was expecting as much when mum told me you asked her.” He smiled.
“Mum?” I rolled my eyes. “Was there anyone who didn't know I took Nova to the Ball?”
“I don't think there was.” Bill chuckled. “I even think Mrs. Moore, the neighbor mum doesn't like, found out.” We both started laughing.
“So, how was it?” He asked after a moment of silence. We never talked about these things before, except when I told him that I fancy Nova and when he made a very scarring attempt of telling me about the Birds and the Bees when I was 13. We both agreed we will never mention that again.
“Bill, you should've seen her.” But for some reason, now I felt like telling him everything. “She was so beautiful. She literally took my breath away.” I didn't even care that my cheeks matched my hair, I knew he's not going to judge me or laugh at me.
“And Andre had to fix my robes, you should've seen what mum sent me, it was ghastly!” Bill laughed.
“And The Weird Sisters performed and we danced so much and then there was this song...” I felt like I could never stop talking. “Magic Works and the lyrics were like they were written for us and then I decided that I had to tell her so I took her outside, by the Lake, you know our usual spot, and I told her how I feel and...” I stopped to catch my breath.
“And I kissed her.” I said softly. Just reminiscing on it, made my heart beat faster.
“I am so proud of you little brother.” He hugged me. “And I don't even know which words to use to describe how happy I am for you.” He continued. “I know how long you've waited for this.” “Thank you.” I got shy again but it felt good talking about it.
“I reckon Ginny was the first one to find out?” He chuckled.
“Yeah and now you know too, but please don't...”
“I won't. I promise. It's none of my business when you tell them.” He interrupted me.
“Thank you, Bill.” I smiled, gratefully.
We were sitting in silence and observed the sky for a few minutes. I was battling myself in my head, wanting to ask him something, but I was too embarrassed to do so.
“Charlie, if you want to talk to me about whatever is going through your head, you can.” He was reading my mind. “I can tell when you're nervous.” He placed his hand on my shoulder.
“Well...” Fuck it. He was here and this was my opportunity. Better talk to him about this stuff than with mum. “I was quite sure even before I went to Romania that I am in love with Nova but the second I laid my eyes on her today when I got back I knew for certain that I am.” Bill let out an 'aww'. “I want to tell her but I don't know how.” I lowered my head.
I wanted to do it before I went to Romania but I felt it would come out forced as if I was only saying it because I was leaving. I wanted it to be special and at the right moment.
“Hmm, that's easy.” Bill surprised me with his answer. “Don't overthink it and don't try to make a special occasion out of it.” I looked at him, bewildered.
“Why not?”
“Because it will look like it was staged. Just say it in a moment. When she does something that gives you butterflies or when she says something that makes you laugh...” He smiled at me. “Do it in a moment. When was the first time the words came to mind?”
“We were studying by the Lake and she was playing with Pip and when he went to me she told him that he might be able to nibble on my ear but she can kiss me and she stuck her tongue out at him. It made me laugh and the words appeared in my head.” I looked at him. I swear he looked like mum when she was teasing me with Nova.
“Then that's your answer, Charlie.” He tapped my shoulder. “Find a moment like that and when the words and feelings come out just say it. It will surprise her and she will know it's genuine.” He grinned at me.
“You're right.” I nodded. “Thank you. I'm glad I told you we are together.” I returned the grin.
“Anything else you want to talk about?” The tone of his voice changed.
There was something else that was going through my mind lately as well. There were so many emotions between Nova and me and we had so many moments where we had to stop ourselves because we knew what we would do if we wouldn't brace ourselves.
We are going to be each other's first and to say that I am nervous wasn't enough. I knew I wanted to do something special about that and I kind of wanted to do it here, because I don't think we can be as sneaky as Tulip and Jae at school.
“Umm...” I gathered the courage to speak. I asked him so many questions, might as well get this one out of the way too. “You remember that talk we had when I was 13?” My face got flushed.
“Charlie, we promised we won't mention that ever again!” He facepalmed himself.
“Do you think, you could give it another try?” I asked hopefully.
“How 'bout you ask me what you want to know and I answer to the best of my abilities?” He smiled awkwardly. “You didn't exactly choose a person with a lot of experience, you know.” He said, embarrassed.
“Well, you're not a virgin, either.” I tried making the situation less awkward.
“No, but still I didn't have that many girls.” I knew that but I didn't care. I wouldn't want to have this talk with anyone else but him.
“Yeah, because I have so much experience.” We both laughed at my comment.
“Alright, Charlie, ask away.” He cracked his fingers to indicate he was ready. I took a deep breath.
“I was kind of thinking of doing it before we go back to Hogwarts.” He nodded, focused. “I think it would be more romantic.”
“Okay. Do you have any ideas how and where?” Bill asked as casually as if we were talking about a cooking recipe.
“Perhaps. I don't want to do it in my bed.” I admitted.
“Not until you remove that Dragon plushie.” He chuckled.
“Hey, leave Welshie out of this! And Ginny has him now.” I rolled my eyes and Bill started laughing.
“Did you think about talking to her about it?” He got serious again.
“We did, a few times. We had moments when we almost...you know.” I was so happy it was dark, my cheeks were burning.
“And what stopped you?” I relaxed when I heard how normal his voice was.
“Well, we felt we weren't ready and we both agreed we would like it to be special.” I answered.
“So what have you come up with so far?” He asked.
“I was thinking of taking her up to the Hill, near the woods. Catch some fireflies in a jar or two. Perhaps make some food and borrow mum's Wireless.” That's as far as I got.
“Blimey, Charlie. I didn't know you were such a romantic.” He winked at me.
“We love stargazing and I thought it would be a relaxing thing to do before you know...it happens.” I looked away. I couldn't look into his eyes talking about this.
“I think it's a great idea.” He grinned. We fell silent again. I kind of wanted to end our conversation there but I had so many other questions.
“Are you nervous?” He continued.
“So much, you have no idea.” I sighed. It felt good saying it out loud.
“Why?”
“I don't want to hurt her.” I frowned. I knew boys have it easier when it comes to having sex for the first time.
“Just be gentle and take it slow. Try to make her laugh and you should both be relaxed as much as possible.” He said lightly.
“Okay.”
“And don't be afraid to touch her body. Girls need more stimulation than we do.” He said with a very serious voice.
“O-okay.” I didn't know how to reply to that. “So, kiss her neck and bite her ear and...”
“Go a bit lower than that.” He winked at me and my heart started racing. “Don't be afraid to touch her breasts with your hands and mouth and the same goes for...you know where.” He wiggled his eyebrows up and down a couple of times. I laughed.
“How long should I do it for?” I focused again.
“Listen to her body. She might not tell you but the gestures and her movements will tell you what she likes and how much.” He explained. “And stop worrying so much. Once you two take your clothes off it's going to become more natural and if you just give in, it will just happen.” I nodded. I didn't know what to say.
“What if I'm not good at it?” I almost whispered. To be honest, this was my biggest worry.
“Charlie, nobody's good at it the first time.” He laughed. “You gain experience as you go. Just listen to your instincts and listen to hers and you'll be fine.” He hugged me over the shoulder.
“Thank you, Bill.” I said, honestly. “You did much better this time around.” We both laughed.
“One more thing...” He said and I turned to him. “Do you know the Protection spell?”
“The what?” I had no clue what he was talking about. I thought you didn't need magic during sex.
“The Protection spell.” He repeated, chuckling. “To keep you from having babies.” He explained.
“Oh.” I was flushed. I did not think about that one.
He taught me the spell and because of it, I was even more sure that it was the right thing to do to tell him. I would be a goner if he didn't teach me that and I would be 10 times more nervous if he didn't say the things he did.
We then changed the conversation to my stay in Romania and I told him all about it. How they gave me a tour, how nice everyone is, how excited they are to work with me. I told him I fed a Hungarian Horntail and took care of a baby Welsh Green and just when I was about to ask him how's Egypt, Nova came back.
“Interrupting something?” She grinned at me and I could see that she was wondering if I told Bill or not.
“It's okay. He knows.” I returned the smile. She awkwardly sat down next to me.
“Look at you two being adorable!” Bill said with a teasing voice.
“See, this is the reason we didn't want to tell anyone.” I rolled my eyes. Nova was laughing. I knew she missed Bill just as much as I did so I decided to give them some time to catch up.
“Bill, you'll tell me about Egypt tomorrow, right?” I stood up.
“Where are you going?” Nova said, sadly.
“I know you two are friends and I want you to catch up. Bill and I talked enough anyway.” I looked at my brother and he winked at me, leaving Nova confused. I kissed her and Bill quickly looked away.
I locked my eyes with Nova and I knew it meant a lot to her that she could talk to Bill alone. I knew she must have about 1000 questions about Egypt and I know how much she misses her dad's colleagues. I wished them both goodnight and went upstairs.
Nova
“Can I just say one thing before you bombard me with questions?” Bill chuckled.
“Okay.” I said slowly. I have no idea what Charlie and he talked about.
“I want to say that I am happy for you two.” I missed his friendly face. “I know it took you forever...” I gently punched him in his shoulder. “But you made it and that's all that matters.” He hugged me and I returned the hug.
“Thank you, Bill.” It meant a lot coming from him.
“And please, I can see the way you look at him, don't think about what will happen when you finish school, will you?” How did he know that?
“How...” I was lost for words.
“You look at him as if you're already saying goodbye. Things will work out fine, trust me.” He patted my shoulder.
“But we will live so far apart.” I sighed, blinking away the tears. “I know we're together for only a few months but we are so great together and I can't bear not being with him...I love him.” I said the last part under my breath.
“I know you do.” He said understandingly. “But with a bond like yours, I know you won't give up easily on each other and will find a way to be with one another.”
“Merlin, I missed you, Bill!” Was all I could say and wiped away the tear that ran down my cheek.
“I missed you too, Nova.” He smiled. “Promise me you'll enjoy being in love without worrying. Don't ruin this for yourself.” He put his hands on my shoulders and looked me in the eyes.
“I promise.” I mumbled.
“So...” His voice changed completely. “You don't want the Birds and the Bees talk as well, do you?” He chuckled. My cheeks turned bright red at once.
“The what?” I asked, pretending I had no idea what he was talking about. “Good! One less traumatized moment for me.” He laughed and I couldn't help but laugh with him. I might've been too shy to look him in the eyes for a few minutes but I was happy that he talked to Charlie about that. We are both so nervous about our first time.
“I actually want to talk about Egypt.” I said after focusing my mind again.
“Everyone is sending their regards and they all miss you so much. They wish you would visit them.” He said with a grin on his face.
“I was thinking of doing it next Summer.” I admitted. I was so excited to go. Before Hogwarts, my mum didn't have that much work and we were there almost every Summer. I knew all my dad's colleagues and they were like a second family to me. Like Bill and Charlie's family is now.
“We would be glad to have you.” Bill exclaimed.
He then told me all about his work. How difficult it was at the beginning and how much he had to learn and prepare to be able to do the job properly. He told me that he already got a raise because he found this chest that had some really valuable golden coins inside.
While they were exploring a tomb they accidentally found a whole system of tunnels that connected to different smaller pyramids which were deemed empty before and they were now discovering and working one room at the time. He told me that they are taking every possible precaution and that they are all more careful since my dad passed away.
He reassured me that he is fine and that if something ought to be suspicious he would leave it to someone with more experience and that meant the world to me. I love all the Weasley's but Bill was something else. He was my big brother and I wish I had more time with him and see him more often.
“It's getting late.” He smiled after we finished our debate on how to best capture a Mummy. “I'm here for 10 days, we'll have time to talk more.” He hugged me around my shoulder. “And besides, I have many questions for you too!” He grinned.
“Okay. I have to check on Ginny anyway.” We both stood up.
“How about I check on her and sleep in her room and you go snog your boyfriend.” He winked at me. I looked at him, perplexed.
“Molly would kill us.” I giggled.
“Not if she doesn't find out.” He smirked. “I'll explain it to Ginny. She will understand since she knows about you two and I will come and wake you up in the morning before everyone else wakes up.”
“You would do that for us?” I couldn't believe it.
“I know you missed him and with Ron and Ginny occupying you all the time, I can imagine you don't have that much time to spend with each other.” He giggled. “But just cuddling, got it!” He suddenly turned into the Bill he was at school. Trying to look strict and angry.
“Got it.” I chuckled and hugged him. We said goodnight and I sneaked into Charlie's room. He was already sleeping but still had a candle on.
“Charlie?” I whispered. He got up at once.
“Nova? Is everything okay?” He yawned.
“Yeah. Bill said I have to come and snog you and he'll stay in Ginny's room and cover for us.” I grinned. Suddenly, he was wide awake and covered himself up to his neck.
“You're not naked are you?” I giggled.
“No, I have my boxers on.” He uncovered himself, realizing how silly he looked. I joined him as he scooched over.
I am not going to lie, my heart started racing when I laid down next to him. We never cuddled like this before and we only slept in the same bed once and back then we were friends. I laid my head on his arm, turned away from him. I turned my head to see him. He placed his hand on my hip and squeezed it gently. I laughed as it tickled me.
“I'm in love with you, Nova.” He said with a voice so full of emotions that I couldn't feel my body anymore.
I looked at him. His eyes were sparkling. I couldn't believe he said it. I wanted to say it so many times but I secretly wished he would do it first and he picked such a nice and relaxing moment. I loved that he didn't prepare for it at all.
“I'm in love with you too, Charles.” I breathed and I felt him tremble. I buried my head into his chest and he blew out the candle and his racing heartbeat lulled me to sleep.
It was so fun having Bill around. Because he was home less often the twins behaved more and they listened to him. He was so proud of himself for that. Charlie and I spent as much time with him as possible because he was leaving in a few days.
One night when I came from the bathroom, ready to sneak into Charlie's room, which Bill was guarding perfectly for almost the whole week now, I was stopped by a voice.
“Nova, go downstairs.” I looked in the direction of the voice and saw Bill's head sticking out of Ginny's room.
“Bill, what are you doing?” I giggled, he looked so funny.
“Just go downstairs, trust me.” He repeated.
“Okay.” I narrowed my eyes and started going down the stairs.
“Oh, and have fun.” He winked at me. What was he up to?
I got to the lower floor and saw Charlie waiting for me on the sofa.
“Char, what is going on?” I wanted to sit down next to him but he stopped me.
“Come with me.” He whispered and gently took my hand. He took me outside and we went through the garden and started walking up the Hill.
I recognized the place at once. Charlie took me stargazing here and I couldn't believe he was doing it again. We didn't talk the whole way there and I couldn't help but feel that he was nervous.
“Char, why are you...” But when I saw what he did, I couldn't finish the sentence.
There was this tree on the Hill and he prepared a blanket under it. It also looked like he brought some food and there were three jars of fireflies; one hanging from the tree and one on each side of the blanket.
“I thought we could have a stargazing date.” He pulled my hand a little to make me move again. I was awestruck. He was so romantic.
“Charlie...” We stopped before the blanket, I was lost for words. He opened the bag by the tree and took out two pillows and another blanket.
“I'm glad you like it.” He smiled, being proud of himself.
“Like it, this is...” I sat down and he joined me. “I love it.” I put my hand around his neck and kissed him.
“And I love you.” My whole body shook by his words. This was the second time he said it and it felt like I could never get enough of it.
“I love you too, Charlie.” I laid down, my hand still behind his neck. I gently pushed him towards me so he was on top of me.
My heart was racing faster by the minute and I knew it was time to take the next step in our relationship. It was a perfect moment. He was perfect and I never felt more ready.
I kissed him, a bit more passionately than usual and he got the hint.
“Are you sure?” He asked softly. “Don't think I did all of this just for that.”
“I'm sure.” I whispered. “I want you.” His face brightened up and he kissed me.
He started kissing my neck and I felt my body relax each minute more. His kisses were soft but determined. It made him look like he knew exactly what he was doing. He took off my shirt and I took off his and opened the zipper on his pants. I suddenly got very shy and my hands froze.
“It's okay.” He smiled and kissed me. “I'm nervous too.” If he only knew how much better his words made me feel. We were in this together.
He started kissing my neck again and slowly made his way down. He needed a moment to unhook my bra and I chuckled. I took off my pants and he reached for the blanket to cover me and he joined me underneath.
Slowly but surely we were both naked, embracing each other, while our tongues played with one another. His hand went from my back to my waist and he started touching me. I have never felt such a sensation before, it felt so good. I moaned in his mouth and I knew this was it. My mind went completely blank and I just let go and enjoyed our bodies experimenting with each other.
“Wait, I have to do something.” He pulled away for a second, breathing deeply. He took the wand from the bag and cast a spell.
“You don't have to enchant me.” I giggled.
“It's a Protection spell for you know what.” He said, his cheeks red.
“Oh.” I widened my eyes.
“Bill told me about it.” He said, a bit embarrassed. I blushed, realizing Charlie talked to Bill about this.
“He's a good big brother.” I smiled. He nodded and put away his wand.
He pulled me closer again. I loved how his weight felt on me. I could be like this forever. I opened my eyes and looked at him. His eyes were just as full of emotions as mine. I couldn't wish for anything more, as he disappeared under the covers and started to make his way down with his lips, my mind went blank again and I gave in to him completely.

Boys and Aliens ch 2
I'm still new to posting on here. Second chapter is done. I might post it on Wattpad too.
Chapter 2
626 woke to the feeling of being nudged by a foot. He peaked out from under the covers to see Laddie sitting up and rubbing his eyes. 626 crawled out and perched next to the boy. Laddie felt something sit next to him, “626. You’re here.” Laddie shocked 626 when he lunged forward and hugged him. 626 squirmed out of Laddie’s hold and shook out his fur like a dog. The alien was not accustomed to physical touch. Laddie got out of bed and went over to his stash of coloring books, and worked on the page he started the night before. 626 ventured around the main room some more. The sun was starting to set, so the rest will be up soon.
Laddie broke 626 from his venturing, “Is 626 your name?” 626 sits on the floor with Laddie and nods his head. “Do you like it?” Laddie asked. 626 just stares at the boy. Laddie tilts his head and thinks, “I could give a better name.” Laddie sits up and pushes away the picture of Frankenstein he was coloring. The picture gave him an idea, “How about Frank?” 626 shook his head no. “Ok, Stein? No, not that one.” Laddie looks at the last part he colored in, it was the stitches across Frankenstein’s forehead. “What about Stitch?” The alien tilted his head from side to side slowly, then nodded, “Ih.”
Hearing voices of laughter and hollering, Laddie knew the boys were up and heading to the main room. Marko and Paul appeared first, shoving and punching each other while laughing. Then Dwayne followed shortly by David. Laddie got up and went to Dwayne, “Guess what?” “What buddy?” Dwayne picked the boy up. “I gave 626 a new name,” Laddie excitedly exclaimed. “Really?” Paul curiously wondered. Laddie nodded his head, “Uh-huh. His name is Stitch, and he likes it.”
They all turn to Stitch, who is a little uncomfortable with the attention. They watch as Stitch stuffed his feet in his mouth and rolled around the cave like a ball. Stitch bounced a few times over the uneven ground before unrolling to keep from smacking into the giant red toolbox. He could see a bunch of spare parts from their motorcycles and a bare frame. Dwayne and Marko join him since they are the ones that mostly work on the bikes. Marko gestures to the parts, “These are parts from our bikes. We don’t need them. You’re welcome to do what you want with them.” They were mostly curious to see what Stitch could come up with. David got the boys’ attention away from Stitch, “Come on boys, time to feed… Star, you and Laddie stay here.” And with that, the four vampires left to feed off some Surf Nazis.
Star waited for the sounds of the bikes to fade before heading towards the opening of the cave. Laddie stopped her, “Where are you going? You’re supposed to stay here with me.” Star just scoffed, “I’m meeting someone. You’ll be fine. You have Stitch.” Laddie shook his head, “David is going to be so mad.” Star just shrugged her shoulders and continued to climb out of the cave. She was going to meet Michael. She was sure he could help her get away from David and The Lost Boys.
A sound of a tool dropping back into the toolbox had Laddie turning towards Stitch. He gasped at what Stitch had built, “Whoa! You built a bike. Wait, it has three wheels.” Stitch stepped away to look at his creation. He had taken the bare frame, added an additional bar on the back end to support two small wheels from what looks like a go-kart. A decent-sized engine inside the frame with a seat big enough for a grown adult. The handles dropped low enough for Stitch to reach. Stitch had greased and gassed up this beast of a trike. He mounted it and kicked it to life. Satisfied with how it ran, Stitch shocked Laddie by lifting it with one arm and proceeded to carry it outside of the cave and up the cliffside, bypassing the stairs. Laddie followed him out. Stitch had Laddie sit on the seat, then he sat on Laddie’s lap. Stitch started the bike up and off they went.
Tumblr media
(Forgive me. I’m not a mechanic so I’m describing what Stitch built as best I can. Looks kinda like this. Google helped.)
The boys were leaning against their bikes just people watching when they heard what sounded like another bike coming closer. Their eyes widen as tourists and locals jump out of the way of what looks like a trike. Once it gets closer they can see it is Stitch and Laddie. Stitch drifts the trike to a halt next to the other bikes. Laddie’s hair is in his face, “Hi guys.” Stitch got up so Laddie could stand, giggling the whole time. The ride was so much fun. Stitch had modified the engine to go faster than it is supposed to and ride over sand with no problem.
Marko and Dwayne are circling the trike, impressed with what he was able to put together from all the parts inside the cave. Marko sat in the seat and it felt comfortable, “This is a sick-ass ride, little dude.” Dwayne nodded his head, “Yeah it is.” Dwayne then looked around for Star, “Where’s Star?” Stitch growled. Laddie patted his head to calm him down, “She left right after you guys. I think that’s why Stitch brought me here. I told her she was supposed to stay with me but she left anyways.” All four vampires growled in anger. David lit another cigarette, “As much as I hate to, we need to go let Max know. See if we can finally get rid of her.”
The group of six walked over to the video store. Opening the door making the dinger go off, Max looks up to see his boys and Laddie walk in. He didn’t notice Stitch at first, not until his Hellhound Thorn growled. “I told you not to come in here. What is that thing?” Thorn kept growling and getting closer to Stitch. The alien growled in response, stood up straighter to look the Hellhound in the eyes. Stitch’s eyes started to glow bright green, making Thorn cower and back away. The boys just smirked and walked out of the video store. They didn’t even bother talking to Max about Star. They were too smug that Stitch scared Thorn.
Stitch did not like Max one bit. Max was very rude to his new friends. David walked past Stitch and bent down to pat his head as he passed. The group went back to their bikes and hung out for a bit longer. Stitch would occasionally say words in his language. Dwayne being the closest to him asked what he was saying. Over the next hour, Stitch tried his best to teach the boys various phrases in his language. They were all laughing at the insults he taught them. The people passing by would just glance at them and walk faster thinking they were being talked about.
David had spotted Star talking to Michael. He was the kid Max had ordered to turn so Max could claim the kid’s mom. He dropped his spent cigarette on the ground and stomped it out. “Come on boys, let’s greet the lovebirds,” David said as he mounted his bike. They all surrounded Michael, even Stitch, and Laddie. Star looked at David scared before turning back to Michael. “You left Laddie alone again Star,” David told her coldly promising punishment once they got back to the cave.
Michael had hung out with the Lost Boys a couple of times already. Ever since the first time, Michael has felt different, more agitated, aggressive, and hungry no matter what he ate or drank. He glared at David, “We were going to get something to eat.” He held his hand out for Star but David cut her off, “Star.” As of giving a silent command, she mounted David’s bike behind him. “Why don’t you come with us? We were just going to get something to eat.” The boys laughed knowing it wasn’t food he was talking about. David could feel Michael’s hunger was getting worse. Time to show this half-vamp what he was. They drove to the cave and dropped off Star, Laddie, and Stitch first. Stitch has not been told they are vampires yet, so they did not want him to see them feed and freak out.
Following behind the guys, Michael was a little on edge. He was turning into something and he didn’t like it. His younger brother Sam told him he was turning into a vampire. Michael didn’t want to believe him but certain things that have happened to make him think Sam is right. Pulling up to a sand dune, the four vampires and half got off their bikes and climbed up a tree to watch a group of drunk Surf Nazis party. The Nazis were oblivious to what awaits them. Michael heard David talking, “Initiation is over Michael. Time to join the club.” Michael looks over the other guys to see their faces have transformed into something demonic.
David and his boys flew at the partiers and tore into them, pun intended. Michael watched as Marko snapped a guy's neck after drinking his blood. Paul ripped some guy’s arms off while his mouth was attached to his neck. Dwayne snapped a guy in half that he drained. It was what David was doing that scared him the most. David had bit the top of a guy’s head and then started to eat the back out of it while slurping up the blood. Michael could feel the urge to join them, and it freaked him out. Michael dropped out of the tree and rolled down the hill as the guys came over the top. They were panting and covered in blood.
“Now you know what we are. What you are. You will never grow old, get sick or die. But you must feed,” David wiped the blood off his cheek and laughed. Michael screamed, “NO!” He mounted his bike and rode off as fast as he could. The boys just continued to laugh at the punk. They knew Michael wasn’t made for the life of a vampire. They returned to the cave shortly thereafter where Stitch gave them all a once-over before laying down at Laddie’s feet.
David and his boys just gave each other a look and thought, ‘Maybe Stitch wouldn’t freak out.’ They decided to tell him the next night what they were. Of course, Stitch will find out before then.

My congratulations with 200 followers! Can I ask scenario about Akashi's girlfriend suddenly finds out about his second identity, but she isn't scared and she accepts him?
A/N: So, with this one, I wasn’t entirely sure which setting I should put it in. I was between her finding out when he first ‘transformed’ and discovering it when he reverted back to his Teiko self. In the end, I decided to pick something in between and something entirely different, so I hope you’ll like what I came up with. ( ꈍДꈍ )

A slight tint of red - Akashi x reader
Tumblr media
You’ve been looking at these heterochromatic eyes for as long as you can remember—those cold and lonely pair of eyes that belonged to your beloved boyfriend, Akashi.
The captain of Japan’s most popular and most feared team was unrivaled in many aspects, and that trait made him a highly respected individual amongst his peers. Unfortunately, that respect also bore negative feelings such as fear, hatred, and jealousy that were the main reasons people decided to avoid his presence.
But you were different. Those rumors didn’t face you in any way; if anything, they motivated you to actually find out more about the man who earned himself countless titles.
The moment you two first looked into each other’s eyes, shivers went down your spine, and if your memory didn’t betray you, then he probably felt the same way. Back then, you felt like you couldn’t move for a slight moment, but thanks to your friends and his teammates, who brought you back to reality, the two of you snapped out of it quicker than you might have wanted.
It took you both quite a while to actually start a conversation since he wasn’t usually the type to initiate such things. At the same time, you, on the other hand, were either too shy or unsure whether you interpreted the short connection you guys had correctly or not. But when you finally succeeded, neither of you had to struggle and find a suiting topic; the conversation just started developing on its own. And after a few months during which you had several interactions with the red-haired young man, it became evident that you had fallen in love with him, so now came the question whether you should confess to him or not, when and how...
Much to your surprise, you had the support of many of his classmates and basketball team members. They repeatedly encouraged you, saying just how good the two of you got along and how his mood had improved when he was with you. Needless to say, that boosted your confidence to a certain degree and gave you the needed courage to begin your quest.
Unfortunately for you, your attempts didn’t differ much from how you normally treated and talked to him. Still, you were determined to continue giving it your best until he either realizes it or until you found the best time to confess.
But your plans weren’t including the most important chess piece in this story, namely Akashi.
While you were forging one plan after the other, you were completely unaware of how the red-haired young man had seen past your actions and was already aware of the feelings you harbored for him. He knew, but he chose to remain silent and wait until you felt prepared enough to tell him.
And then one day, you finally stood before him with your cheeks slightly flushed and your eyes wandering but never focusing on the person before you. You were an adorable sight for him to behold, but he didn’t want to uselessly torture you any further, so he decided to initiate the dialogue.
“Is everything alright (Y/N)..?”
The gentleness in his voice caught you off guard, but it also helped to get the ball rolling, and before you knew, your confession was already in full swing. Firstly, you began reassuring him that everything was alright, that he needn’t worry about you, and that the reason you called him was a positive one. After a short break, you then proceeded to reveal all the feelings you’ve been harboring for him...
When you were done, he remained silent for a short while and gave you his answer...an answer that surprised you.
“Then today marks our first day as an official couple.”
——
The first few months went by pretty well. Your boyfriend had even made sure to divide his time between his training and you equally. He even made a weekly weekend date customary for the two of you, additionally making sure that the place you went to or the activity you did never repeated itself.
But what is a relationship between two people if only one person does the entire work?
That’s what you asked him one day. Akashi was surprised, of course, but he quickly understood why you’d say that, so he decided to tone down a bit and allow you to plan some of the dates as well.
A good and loyal man whom you could call your boyfriend, who made sure you were treated like a queen and whose yellow and red eyes were always only focused on you and you alone.
Could your life get more perfect?
Or at least that’s what outsiders and bystanders would think...
You see, no matter how much Akashi tried to smile at you, there was always something bugging you about it.
At first, you decided to ignore it and thought that it was your imagination and that all he needed was a little time until he could tell you what haunted his mind, but the longer you waited, the gloomier his expression grew, and it worried you. Not only were you not used to him appearing that distanced at times, but what hurt you the most was the fact that he wasn’t even intending on sharing anything with you.
Instead of doubting his trust in you, a more direct approach was in order, so you decided to just ask him yourself; all you needed was an opportunity, and what worked better than everyone’s beloved test period?
Next to your weekly dates and your monthly horseback riding expeditions, the two of you also organized a small tutoring group where you or some of Rakuzan’s basketball members would seek Akashi’s help in topics they didn’t understand. Luckily they were not always up for studying more than they had to, so the two of you got at least some privacy from time to time. So when the exam period started, you prayed to whichever deity you believed in, to give the two of you some time together.
The moment your finger pushed the doorbell on your boyfriend’s extravagant front door, you expected to be greeted by one of his butlers, but instead were greeted by a warm embrace from your beloved.
“Hope you won’t mind that today is going to be just the two of us.”
“Oh no, not at all!”
You were overjoyed to hear this but tried to appear as calm as you could while Akashi brought you to the living room, where some papers were already splayed out on a table.
After you had taken a seat and placed the snacks you had brought with you next to the tray with some of your favorite beverages, the two of you discussed what subjects and problems you’ll be going through today. Since you truly needed some help with a few subjects, your plan to talk to him had to be postponed for a short while.
When the two of you were about to move on to the next pile of tasks, you looked at your boyfriend’s profile and began: “Hey Akashi...it’s not school-related, but I have a small question for you. Is that ok?”
You saw his red eye shift its attention to you as he nodded his head slightly, a small smile adorning his lips.
Here goes nothing...
“So, I’ve noticed that there are times during which you tend to look quite sad and troubled. At first, I thought that whatever it was, you just needed some time to process it yourself until you could tell me. Still, that plan backfired quite a bit, since your expression has been getting worse,” you stilled to let him process your line of thoughts first, and then you resumed, “I just hope that you know how much I care for you, and if I have given you the impression that I don’t, then let me apologize. Akashi, I truly care for you, more than you might think...and more than I sometimes show, so I would be really happy if you could at least entrust me with some of the thoughts that have occupied your mind.”
You took another break to look at the man next to you and immediately noticed how much his body had tensed up. Whatever you chose to say next was about to either provoke a change in your relationship or let it circle around the same iceberg as before. So you mustered all the courage within you, took his hand, squeezing it, and said: “I love you Akashi, but if we don’t talk this out now, I’m not sure if we’ll have another chance like this...”
Silence...
Whatever you just said had quite an impact on your boyfriend, more than you ever expected. His entire face went pale, and his eyes seemed unable to focus on you or your face anymore. You were worried that this topic might’ve been too big of a landmine for your fresh relationship, but there was no way for you to return anymore, so you had no choice but to go through with it.
Akashi sighed and stood up, his back turned to you. He looked so lonely that you couldn’t help but follow his lead and stand a few meters behind him, leaving your boyfriend enough free space but also maintaining a certain closeness, just in case he needed an embrace or anything of that sort.
Another short period of silence followed during which the red-haired young man looked out of his living room’s window and apparently tried to calm his nerves down for the upcoming talk.
“(Y/N), there’s something I’ve been...keeping from you for quite a while.”
I knew it...
It was no secret that you expected that to be the case, but you couldn’t help but be curious as to what that secret was, so in order to tame your curiosity and stop yourself from showering him with countless questions, you bit your lower lip. You already had a few hunches as to what that secret might or might not be, but you remained silent and waited for him to finally tell you what’s been on his mind for so long...
His lips were moving, his eyes were focused on one of the many random trees in his courtyard, his hands were trembling, and all you could do was stand there and listen...listen to the most unexpected confession.
“A...second personality, you say?”
Akashi nods, and even though he turns around, his eyes never meet yours; they just blankly stare at something behind you. Usually, you would’ve followed his view, but you already knew what those beautiful eyes of his were fixated on.
His childhood photos...
Even if his confession of having a second personality sounded quite far-fetched at first, now that the both of you were silent, you had some time to actually think it over, and much to your surprise, it made sense...to a certain degree, at least. His eye’s sudden change in color and the abrupt disappearance of his angelic smile from his middle school’s days were drastic developments in a brief span of time, judging by the intervals in which the photos were taken. When you first noticed this peculiarity, you thought that either something on a biological level or something bad in general had happened, so you had made up your mind to drop it for the time being. Who would’ve thought that you’d be getting an answer to that as well today?
“I-I’m sorry (Y/N)...if my story sounds too unbelievable or too unrealistic for you, then please feel free to label it as some kind of fairytale I came up with to put your mind at ease.“
You squinted your eyes, trying to comprehend just what kind of nonsense your boyfriend was coming up with, and before you could even think of an answer, your mouth was already open, throwing the first things that came to your mind at him.
“What if I choose to believe you, though? What would you do then Akashi? Would you push me away like all the other times, or would you keep on pretending that everything’s alright? Huh? Tell me...“
The young man was clearly taken aback by your direct questions, but he recovered quickly and turned his back to you, mumbling something about you not being able to grasp the true meaning behind his words and how you couldn’t handle his true self.
He must’ve thought that you weren’t going to hear his self-talk, but you did...and what you heard made you extremely mad. Pure rage clouded your judgment, and the next thing you knew was how Akashi’s back was pressed against the wall and how your hands were gripping his shirt’s collar.
“How dare you say something like that?! Do you really think that I’m that insensible and shallow?”
You continuously threw your feelings and thoughts at him, not noticing just how worked up you truly were. At one point, though, Akashi just couldn’t take it anymore and wrapped his arms around your trembling body, pulling it towards his chest where you could continue to cry. Now that you were enveloped in that oh so familiar warmth, you just couldn’t keep on screaming at him, so you just closed your eyes, held onto him, and tried stopping your tears from ruining his already crumpled shirt. While you were doing that, he placed his hand on top of your head and stroked it gently, calming you down even further.
“(Y/N)...I’m truly sorry, I never intended to doubt you; it’s just tha-“
“Don’t apologize Akashi...I understand”
He wanted to tell you just how scared he was of your reaction because you were one of the few people he trusted enough to tell this to, and all the others who saw, experienced, and even knew of his change ended up being either weirded out or too scared.
But you were different, and even if he knew that, he just couldn’t risk losing the light of his life, and that’s why he decided to keep it a secret from you, up until now. When he saw how mad you got for his sake, how sad it made you the moment you found out just how heavy this has weighed on his mind, it made him understand that even if you were scared somewhere deep down, you’d still look for a way to make him feel better and try your best to understand him.
That realization was all he needed as he gently planted a featherlight kiss on the top of your head and raised your chin so that you could look him directly into the eyes.
At that moment, you could’ve sworn that his iconic yellow eye had a slight tint of red in it.
I love you...

A Hero II  (Shinsou x Reader)
A/N: I did not intend for this fic to be three parts, but it seems that I have been writing too fast to keep track of the word count. This chapter will have a little fluff with mostly angst. I promise though, the next part is entirely fluff and my favorite piece to date. Hope you enjoy and thank you so much for the support.
!!!Sort of spoilers but not really you’ll be fine
word count: 4350
Part One/Part Two/ Part Three
“Where are you?”
“I’m with Aizawa-sensei. Is everything okay?”
“Oh, that’s great. Do you mind if I come visit for a minute?”
“Uh, sure, but why?”
“I don’t know, I just really don’t feel good. I feel like crying and I need to see you.”
“Ah, okay. I’ll be waiting for you.”
“I’ll be by the classroom in like, five minutes.”
“See you in a little bit.”
Shinsou set down his phone after hanging up. “I’m really sorry for taking a call while we’re talking, sensei.”
The dark haired, tired teacher in front of him only sighed and shook his head. He really didn’t care if the kid took a phone call. He was more mature and obedient than the majority of his students, so it wasn’t a big deal. It was nice to take a break from teaching reckless wannabe heroes all day like Midoriya and Bakugo. “Someone coming to interrupt our lesson, I suppose.”
“Yeah, but just for a second. It won’t be an issue.”
“Who?”
“Y/N.”
“Bakugo’s adoptive sister, right?” he asked, exasperated already. He could only imagine the kind of person someone related to that blond devil would be, even if it wasn’t by blood. Just being around him for so long no doubt would corrupt anyone. Having one Bakugo around was more than enough, but two? Unmanageable. A good reason to quit his job.
Shinsou nodded. He fiddled with his neck wrappings, feeling himself getting anxious. He wanted to see Y/N, he really did. But in front of his teacher, someone he looked up to and didn’t want to see him go soft...not ideal. He just hoped she would talk to him outside in private and nothing be heard or seen. “Yes.”
Aizawa leant back against the blackboard, crossing his arms over his chest. Talking about his personal life could be useful too. He was curious about the kid. He was so ambitious and strong-willed, competent in a world of idiots. If this girl, whoever she was, made him happy, that would only boost his morale when fighting. It was a good thing for him to be lovesick, actually. Aizawa hummed, “Interesting. She’s in your class, I completely forgot about that. Didn’t think you were the type to have friends, honestly.”
“I’m not. It’s just...well, I can’t explain. She’s different.”
A head popped in the doorway of the classroom a moment later, and it was almost as if a cloud  had formed on the ceiling. Her smile was obviously fake, and her eyes screamed with the shine of not-so-distant sadness. He had to close his eyes for a quick moment and take a deep breath to calm himself down. His face was heating up and his heart started to race again. She was so fucking precious, even when she was about to cry..
“Shinsou,” she muttered, not even bothering to step into the classroom.
“I’ll be back in a minute, sensei.”
“That’s fine. Take your time.” The man waved off his student, not wanting to bother him. The girl looked pathetic standing there with that fake grin. Already, he could tell she wasn’t much like her brother. He should have known that knowing Shinsou cared for her so much. He wouldn’t associate with people like the hothead. Aizawa also didn’t hate her upon first glance, and that was quite shocking. He really disliked everyone.
Shinsou stepped outside into the hall. She stepped forward to be closer to him just by a little, and her eyes flickered down to his hand. Knowingly, he reached out to take her hand in his, rubbing the backs of her knuckles with his thumb, just like he always did when she was sad. She was the first one to initiate it, holding his hand that time in the alleyway. Ever since then, she asked for him to hold her hand, to make her feel a little better.
“Did something happen?”
“No, not really. I’ve just had a really shitty day. I accidentally spilled fruit milk all over my homework and my brand new textbook. When I was walking out to the dorms, that little freak with the purple balls on his head tried to look up my skirt. My mom called and yelled at me because of my grade in mathematics, even though I told her you were gonna start tutoring me, but she didn’t even care. And then, when I got to the dorms, I tried to take a nap but I had this terrible nightmare where you died and stuff, and it’s just been a really bad day.”
“Wow, that does sound shitty, I’m sorry, Y/N,” he said. For a moment he paused, thinking through what he could do for her before asking, “Do you want to wait here and we can go out somewhere when Sensei and I are finished?”
“Maybe. I’d rather hang out with you the rest of the day then go back and wallow in my own self-loathing,” she answered miserably, letting her head fall to stare at her shoes. “I just don’t want to bother you, Shinsou.”
“Don’t say that. You’re never a bother,” he hushed. “Didn’t I tell you I would do anything for you?”
“You’re too nice to me.”
“Not possible. I’m just doing what I want.” He always said that. He was never doing her a favor, she was never making him go out of his way or do something he didn’t want to do. For some reason, he found that whatever she wanted, he also wanted. If she wanted to sleep in bed all day, so be it, that’s what he wanted to do too. If she wanted to travel the world, he might just drop everything in Japan and go with her. He felt ridiculous about it, but it was true. That’s how she made him feel.
Whenever she was happy, he was happy. So, all he wanted was her to be content.
“You’ll have to tell me more about your day and that nightmare you had later. Talking about it helps.”
“Okay.”
“Wait in the library until I’m done?”
“Yeah. I’ll see you later.”
He nodded, taking away his hand to step back into the doorway. He placed a hand on the doorframe and leaned into it. “Bye, Y/N.” His eyes trained on her face as she lifted her head to look at him, a small, genuine smile on her face this time. Maybe he was dramatic, but that girl was all he ever wanted to look at. That smile, it made him feel like a million bucks. He felt like a real hero whenever her lips turned up in that familiar way.
“Thank you, Hitoshi. Bye…” He turned to enter the classroom but she stopped him, grabbing his wrist before he could completely go. When he turned to see what she wanted, she pushed herself forward into his arms, wrapping her own around his waist. “I really wanted a hug.”
He sighed into her touch, wrapping his own arms around her shoulder and one to rest on the back of her head. “No problem.”
“Okay, now for real this time, bye.” Finally, the girl pulled away from his hug, waving to him with her now with a full bright smile on her face and a bit of pep in her step. For a moment, all he could look at was her going down the empty hall, he almost forgot what he was originally doing.
“You done?” a voice mumbled behind him, and he jumped. How could he forget that Aizawa was right there? He saw them hug and everything, how awkward. He felt like a real sissy boy in front of his idol.
“Yes, sorry about that. Won’t happen again.”
The man rolled his eyes, his lip quirking in the tiniest of smirks. “We both know you can’t promise that,” he said. “So what is she? Your little girlfriend?”
His mouth opened and he stumbled over words to say. “No-No, of course not. She’s my friend and that’s it.”
“I see.”
They went back to the lesson as normal, talking and discussing possible moves and tools that could be utilized with his quirk. Still, Y/N ran through his mind over and over. At this point, he felt like he was actually going insane. Why couldn’t he focus on something else for once? Had this girl completely consumed his mind? He just couldn’t shake the thought of her and how she looked at him. Did people normally feel this way for their best friends? He had no idea, he’d never had one to know for sure.
Nevertheless, he wasn’t going to tell anyone about how he felt. He wasn’t really big on talking about his feelings.
The clock ticked away quickly, and by the time he was focused on the lesson at hand, it was already over. Aizawa had to go home to feed his cat dinner, and the sun was just going down for the night. He gathered his things and started out the door, leaving his sensei behind.
“She’s cute.Your ‘not girlfriend’, that is. She’s not what I expected.”
“Yeah, I know. She’s kinda perfect.”
The older man only sighed, nodding to agree with the boy. “For you.”
“No, she’s just my friend.”
“Fine. She’s the perfect friend for you.” He waved his hands, motioning the boy to leave him the hell alone and go to the library. “Get going, your friend is waiting.”
Needless to say, that was one of the most embarrassing moments of his entire life.
_____________________________________________
The dorms had been around for a couple months now, that meant that classes lived together and saw each other much more often than they used to. Shinsou had to admit, he wasn’t upset about the change. He couldn’t decide what he liked better, waking up to see Y/N in the dining room in her pajamas and hair untamed, stuffing her face with sugary cereal, or her visiting his room late at night after curfew to watch movies and stare out the window looking for constellations.
God, seeing her every day, even on the weekends... It made him feel like this was worth it. It had been months and he hadn’t tired of her. Normally, he couldn’t stand the same annoying friends after a period of time.
He was nearly asleep when a soft knock sounded on his door, echoing softly in the dorm. Lazily, he picked up a pen from his side table and tossed it to the door with a quiet thud, signalling for the only person it could be to come in. No one visited him in his dorm, no one except her.
The door creaked open, followed by a girl slipping through the crack. A click meant the door had closed, and he let out a breath of relief. She was here again to give him company, something he desperately needed..
When she was with him, he felt so different. He felt special, like there was hope for him. He relished in the feeling, entranced by her presence alone.
"Hey," he breathed, rolling over in his bed to face her. She flopped down on the other side of the bed, face first into the pillows. “What’s up?”
“Lonely and missing you,” she told him. Again, his heart jumped at her words. She missed him. She always told him she missed him, when they were allowed to go home, when they had classes at different times, when she went out with her friend, on long weekends away from the dorms. She always missed him. He was almost sure she was exaggerating. How could she miss him that much? He wasn’t very exciting, just a friend. The only other person she often missed was her brother, who stayed across the yard of dorms.
“Well, what do you wanna do? Watch a movie or something?” he asked.
“Honestly, I just want to talk. I have so many things on my mind.” She paused, rolling over on the bed to face him, face sinking into his pillow. Her eyes held so much fear he thought she must be drowning in it. He had no idea what to expect when she came in that night. She hadn’t texted him or said anything earlier in the day during their classes.
He wanted to reach out to her and hug her, make her feel some compassion instead, but he thought that was too intimate. If there was one thing he was afraid of, it would be making her uncomfortable. Part of the reason he loved her company was that she seemed completely at ease in his presence and he in hers.
“It’s about this war,” she whispered.
“What’s worrying you?”
She shut her eyes, not wanting to look him in the eyes directly. Images of her friends and family lay dead in her mind, and she had to take a deep breath to calm down. “All I can think about is how many people we are going to lose. My brother is one of the strongest students here; no doubt he’s going to get dragged into this fight. Hell, he already has.”
Shinsou nodded, lost in a bit of his own thoughts. Everyone knew how dangerous the league was, how horrible the casualties would be. He tried not to think about it, but how can you not when everyone talks about it? When your teachers are preparing to die and leave you behind? “I know what you mean. Aizawa-sensei is in the same position.”
“It just scares me so much,” Y/N whispered, pressing her face deeper into the pillow, trying to find an ounce of comfort in the softness and the scent. Nothing was helping at this point. “What do I do if I lose Katsuki? What happens if they kill Hawks or Endeavour? What do we do then? Society can’t just expect kids to sacrifice their lives.”
“You just have trust in the ones stronger than you. I know it’s hard, hell, I just want to go out and fight alongside them,” he confessed. “But, I can’t, and you can’t.”
“I just hate it. I feel so fucking worthless, Shinsou,” she cursed, tears pooling at the corners of her eyes, soaking into the pillowcase tear after tear. “All Katsuki has ever done for me is protect me, fight for me; all my life he’s been this way. I hate that I’m not strong enough to help him now when he needs it the most. I'm so worthless.” her words began to shake, and toward the end, she choked down a sob. He watched the whites of her eyes fill with red, irritated from the tears and her squeezing her eyes shut to keep them in.
He lifted his arm, tucking the other under his pillow. Instinctively, she moved forward, pressing her forehead to his chest and curling her arms up in front of her to rest between. He held her to him, resting his chin on the top of her head, buried in her knotted hair. Her cries ran through her entire body, and he held her tighter to his chest in an attempt to ease the tremors. It seemed his instinct to hug was right. She needed this.
Fuck, he needed the embrace too,  just to feel someone alive against him.
“Y/N, you’re not worthless. You give your brother hope and motivation just by being with him. He loves you, and wants to live another day so he can see his sister again. You know that,” he said soothingly, although he felt a tickle at the back of his throat, pain lurking up. “Besides, what would I do without you? I need you.”
“No one needs me, Hitoshi. Nobody,” she sobbed. How could she believe that? Both of the boys had saved her life multiple times, yet she had done nothing for them. “I’m just a background character. I’m nothing.”
He tilted his head down, his lips just skimming her hair. “You’re the only friend I have. You’re the first person who made me realize I could be a hero, that I wasn’t just a villain. Do you think that’s nothing? ” he muttered, “To me, you’re the main character. You’re all I care about and the only person I ever want to be with.”
“Hitoshi, you fucking idiot,’ she cried. He felt her hands grab handfuls of his shirt, clenching her fists so tightly her knuckles must have turned white. “Why do you care so much about me?”
He lied.
“It’s because you’re my best friend.”
It’s because I’m falling in love with you.
“I never want to lose you, Hitoshi. Promise me, you won’t leave me, promise,” Y/N begged, practically demanding him to give her that little push of assurance. She needed someone’s words to keep her going, to know it was okay.
“I promise.”
It seemed like, when he was with her, he made more promise than he ever had in his life. Shinsou never believed in making promises because he never really intended on keeping them, so he avoided them. Yet, he wanted to make promises to her. He wanted her to trust him, and find comfort in his word.
In this world, you can’t predict when you’ll die or how long you’ll live, but as long as he could, he would stay with her.
He danced around their friendship. It always felt like he would make a mistake and reveal how he really felt about her. He loved their friendship, cherished it with all his heart. But that didn’t stop him from feeling something much more intense. He didn’t know for sure how he felt, only he was attached. Maybe he was falling for her. It could have been a crush.
All he knew was that those feelings were real.
She lifted her head from his chest, and he pulled back to look down at her. She was puffy in the eyes and her cheeks stained with tears. He lifted his hand, gently bringing his thumb to rub against her cheek, pushing away the salty tears. His hand stayed there, fingers sliding against her skin so softly, almost ghostly.
Goosebumps rose up on her arms at the subtle touch, and her heart beat faster. His hand stopped moving to rest on the side of her face, fingers tucked back by her neck. He was so warm, and she leant into him. Her eyes met his dark violet ones ridden with deep bags from lack of sleep. Still, he was handsome, so perfect in her eyes. His face moved closer to hers, and her eyes flickered down to his lips. Her eyes shut, moving ever so slowly closer to him.
A loud chime rang out from her back pocket. Startled, she jumped away from him, her hand flying to her pocket to grab her phone and shut it up. It was probably just a spam call anyway.
Katsuki.
She sighed, sitting up on the mattress and swinging her legs over the edge. She turned back to the boy, but was unable to make eye contact. He laid there with his forearm resting over his eyes, not looking at her either. “Shinsou...I-I’m sorry but I have to take this. I’ll see you tomorrow in class, okay?”
“Yeah, no problem. I'll see you tomorrow then.”
“See you,” she said quietly as she walked out the door, answering the phone as she did so.
Once the door was closed, he let out a load groan, turning on his side and curling up around one of his pillows. What the fuck was that? Were they about to kiss or was that just his imagination? Why did Bakugo have to call at that very moment? He couldn’t have waited, like, another 10 seconds?
He felt so good, having her pressed against him, to hear her telling him she needs him, to hold her face in his hands. She was the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen, he was sure of it now. Even while she cried, she still looked perfect to him, like an angel came to Earth just for him. Maybe she was an angel after all. No other girl as wonderful as her would take interest in him. She was here to save him, bring him hope and love and make him feel something while he was alive for however long. He always longed to feel anything other than guilt and anger and sadness.
And his angel had brought that to him.

Y/N had gone out to the corner store for some snacks that afternoon instead of training, so he proceeded to sit and study. His quirk wasn’t really the best to practice alone, for obvious reasons. In the courtyard outside, he sat with his heavy books, math problems flashing in his mind.
He was smart, so this kind of thing was never an issue for him. For Y/N, though, they had to work on that. She despised mathematics with a passion to the point where he would have to bribe her just to get her to do her homework. It was sad, but quite humorous for Shinsou.
“Yo, loser.”
He lifted his head at the voice, his eyes trailing up to see Bakugo, slouched over in his messy uniform. “Can I help you?”
“Yeah, actually, you can.”
Shinsou prayed that there would be no violence here. But with how her brother was, it could go crazy really fast. It wasn't that he was afraid of Bakugo at all, in fact, Shinsou knew with his quirk he would win a fight. It would just make Y/N upset.
He set down his pencil and moved over on the bench to make room for the blond, who hunkered down beside him. He didn’t take his hands out of his pockets, and didn’t move to make eye contact.
"Well what do you want?"
He shifted, practically itching to walk away. Still he persisted. "Y/N talks about you so fucking much, you know," he finally grumbled. "Shinsou this. Shinsou that. Seriously it's annoying "
Part of the purple haired boy was flattered and frankly excited. She talked about him to her family? He was sure it was all good things of course, but to know that he occupied her mind when he wasn't around? It was amazing.
To be honest, he thought about her more than you normally would with just a friend. Her smile, her laugh, her voice. All of it just ran through his mind all hours of the day.
"Ah, okay."
"Listen, I'm definitely not here to be your friend, fuck that. You're a creepy ass dude." As usual, rude as hell with no filter whatsoever. Typical. "It's just that I feel like I should...ugh, thank you."
"Huh, never thought I'd hear that come from you, Bakugo," Shinsou replied with a smirk.
"Shut it." He paused, leaning back to stare up at the sky. "Y/N hasn't ever really had a friend, not one that was good to her at least. You're the first person to really bring her out of her shell. She's a hard-core introvert, I guess."
"Don't thank me. I'm not doing anything I don't want to."
"I know. It’s just that when I convinced her to come to U.A., she thought she would be all alone, you know, bullied and shit like before. I'm just glad someone's been there for her."
"I really can't see why people would bully her. She's kind and beautiful and smart."
"Yeah, right, I know. People just like to pick on little girls." Bakugo sighed, clenching using fists in his pockets. "I've just gotten so busy recently with everything, I haven't had the time to be her brother. You've watched out for her instead."
"She doesn't even need someone to watch out for her. She's not a baby, she's strong enough to handle herself now," Shinsou replied. "We all have our moment of weakness."
"Y/N told mom about how you got rid of that thug the day I was sick. Can't believe it," he muttered. "Nothing happened, but I swear if you weren't there and something did,  I would’ve kicked some major ass. So thanks for that too."
"Like I said, you shouldn't thank me. It's just the right thing to do."
"Yeah, but you aren't just doing it out of the kindness of your heart, Y/N isn't a damn charity.” His face lightened for a moment, the scowl softening into a grimace. "You love her, any dumbass can tell. I'm not sure if she feels the same way, but, shit…I’ve just never seen her happier than when she’s hanging out with you."
Shinsou said nothing. What was there to say? Bakugo was right. He did love her. Maybe for a while he thought it was just a crush, but it wasn't. Sure, if that criminal were harassing anyone else, he would do the same thing for them. Only, he wasn't sure he would turn around from his walk home to make sure they were safe. He wouldn't let just anyone come into his room at any hour of the night for hugs and cuddles, or a shoulder to cry on. That just wasn't him.
So he felt comfortable being confronted with the fact. Because it was real. He really loved her, and he would never deny it.
"I've got a bad feeling, loser. A really bad feeling something is gonna happen to me. You have to be there for Y/N when it does. Swear to me," Bakugo commanded, turning to stare the other boy in the eyes. They weren't friends, it was true. In fact, Shinsou didn't like the guy one bit. But he could feel the pain and hopelessness in his voice, guilt that he might not be there anymore.
And so, he felt himself making another promise for her.
He nodded. "Yeah, I swear. I'd never let anything happen to her."
"Good. Glad to know there's somebody else out here in this shitty world that loves her."
"Me, too."
Part Three is up as well so check that out.

The Ouran Academy Deviant
Request: if not already requested...May I request Bad Reputation for Haruhi from Ohshc x Female reader?
Title: The Ouran Academy Deviant
Genre: songfic~, a lil comedic (just a little bit - if you squint you might see it), and slightly romantic. still very floofy tho, WOO.
Pairing: Haruhi Fujioka x Fem! Reader
Notes: The influx of Ouran requests that have flown in is making me melt, seriously. Dead fandoms are really becoming my primary writing topics now, aren’t they? Either way, I love this request and feel like this could go in so many new directions that mimic total bbe - and the pairing just makes everything feel so much more powerful. Like, Haruhi and a total troublemaker? YES.
This is extremely long, as well, so prepare to read something that is (arguably) longer than anything else in this vein that I have written.
Also, I felt like this would work amazingly in one-shot form, and I took some slight liberties. That being said, proceed with caution. The only thing I would warn you about is vulgar language!
Below the cut!
Tumblr media
Haruhi Fujioka and (L/n) (Y/n), the odd couple of Ouran Academy. One is a scholarship student, in a club, with a clean track record. She comes off as kind, intelligent, respectable to the utmost level - especially so for dealing with things in the particular way that she does.
(Y/n), on the other hand? She skips school, could care less about her grades, and decides to forego the uniform whenever she does go to school. She sneaks off to do very unladylike things, comes off as incredibly intimidating, and appears to be someone rewarded by fear rather than respect.
The two could not be more different, but the one thing that drove them together was simple: Tamaki.
(Y/n)’s older cousin was the one that dragged her to school that day, he was the one that introduced her to the club after a tiring day at school that consisted of her slacking off in class and skipping in the academy bathrooms, he was the one that provided an easy form of detention for her when she got penalized by the staff.
During the time that she was cleaning and helping in club duties, she had run into Haruhi in her work, and despite what she had said, Haruhi still helped her. “I don’t give a damn, you’re a host aren’t you? Go woo some chicks over on those couches.”
Normally, that would’ve been the end of things. Which makes the next events more shocking.
...
Tamaki had noticed his cousin and his newly-appointed apprentice working together, and in their battle of wits and capabilities, he also picked up on their chemistry. From then on, he was driven to make the two a couple. Though, his methods are extremely unconventional.
One random day, he had invited (Y/n) to his mansion, dragged her to his bedroom and shared a talk with her. She had initially come off as disinterested, but his attitude made her open a bit more.
“Sooo, my dearest cousin, I have a proposition for you!” he had declared. (Y/n)’s interest was peaked, but a part of her advised her to avoid asking. That side lost to her curiousity.
“And what may that be, because if it so happens to be one of your over-the-top plans to try and get me to drag my ass to school I’m leaving.” Tamaki played the dramatics before getting to the point.
“Oh, dear (Y/n), it is nothing of the sort. It is a resolution to a problem of yours, though.”
The (h/c) raised an eyebrow, leaning in and nodding. “Go on.”
The blonde let a small smirk settle on his face, and when he had announced his idea to her, she jumped up and was already on her way to leave the room.
“Wait, wait, wait! Hear me out, please!” She paused, took in a deep breath and rolled her eyes before allowing herself to continue speaking. (Y/n) didn’t need this amount of annoyance before she left to wreak more havoc, but she also didn’t want to send the only person that cared enough to help her to his emo corner.
“What if I say yes to this? What’s the catch gonna be? I’m not jumping from Class-C to Class-A just so you can play the part of the savior.”
“Well, first of all: you wouldn’t be bored. You have already shown that you are highly intelligent, you just need the proper amount of stimulation. You can get there!” She paused, then nodded, and gestured for Tamaki to continue. “Second of all: you need something to do during school other than vandalize the alley walls and bathroom stalls. You’re extremely pretty, and-”
“And I’m going.”
“Wait! Let me finish, I promise that you won’t absolutely hate it,” he pleaded. (Y/n) was still hesitant to go along with his plan, but again - don’t want to send the only person that cared enough to help her to his emo corner.
“Fine, but make it quick.”
Cue the sparkling eyes.
“Thank you! Anyway, I think you should join the Host Club. We can open it up to girls that want to appeal, and this would make your record look better for the future! After all, you want to succeed, right?”
With a sigh, (Y/n) walked back to the bed and sat down. She had to debate the idea - she did want to do well following high school, and she did know that the way she was going halfway through the year wouldn’t be good for doing just that. Tamaki was right to advise her of this, but she didn’t want any obligations tying her down for the rest of her high school career.
Tamaki was bouncing on the balls of his feet as he watched his rough-and-tumble cousin run the benefits and drawbacks in her head. His lips were pursed and his hands were drawn to his chest tightly, gripped with anticipation.
“I’ll think about it. You are right, I’ll give you that, but the likelihood that things would be that easy right now is low,” she answered calmly. She had a tone of seriousness as she spoke, and it was laced with fear.
He had heard the way that she went about her response, and while he was admittedly a little disappointed that she wasn’t jumping for joy at his idea, he also knew that she didn’t work like that and didn’t intend to work like that. This was the best possible scenario for an answer that he could get, and that thought excited him.
“You won’t regret it, I promise! Let me know after you think it through, I can get you prepared and set quickly!” (Y/n) nodded hesitantly, and then got up to leave.
“I’m gonna leave, but I have a lot to think about, now...” she paused, a small flurry of red crossing over her face at the thought of what she was about to say next. ‘Thanks’ wasn’t a word in her dictionary, but now? It may have to be.
“...Thanks, Tamaki.”
His head darted up at her figure as he leapt up with joy and hugged her tightly. He had also lifted her up and managed to spin her around before she kicked him in the shin and got dropped. When Tamaki hit the floor gripping his leg, she was already walking down the hall and alerting the maids of her departure.
...
Now, she sat in Class-A in her second year. The twins were sat behind her and didn’t bother trying to prank her, no one in class was brave enough to stand up to her or correct her when she exhibited some unladylike behavior in class, and some guys that were deemed crazy by the school populace attended the host club to chat with the new ‘Wild’ type. (Following Mori and Honey-senpai’s graduation, of course)
(Sad boi hours-)
She was surprisingly popular according to the polls that Kyoya had taken, and when taking this into consideration, she became the go-to for information from the club’s king himself.
Despite Tamaki’s initial intentions, though, she had only become more quiet and focused on causing more harm outside of school hours.
On multiple occasions, she had gone to the bathrooms and decided to tag the windows with an ‘X’ after covering them in black paint. She had also gone outside to rearrange what she could in the garden after blocking any cameras that would pick up her actions.
Safe to say, she still maintained the reputation that she had achieved in her first year attending.
Her antics were also upped by a new friendship with the twins. She had begun to teach them ways around the school and new ideas for pranks, some that would push the school regulations harshly, and joined them in their endeavors to terrorize certain students that would do certain things to them or someone they cared about.
Otherwise, Tamaki was happy to see another facet of his plan come alive - Haruhi and (Y/n). The two were beginning to get along very well, very quick. It seemed as if the new year and new experiences lit a fire under the (h/c)’s ass, and she had begun to talk more. At least, to people she knew wouldn’t wimp out due to her words and actions.
The change had made the blonde leap out of happiness, the observation that his most treasured cousin was beginning to grow up and become a better person - at a slow pace, but still, there’s improvement.
“(Y/n), you’ve got some customers waiting for you,” Kyoya informed her, making said female groan in frustration.
“They only come here to try and get into my pants, and they still think I’m gonna give those sleaze-bags a chance after the fuck-ton amount of times I’ve told them off.” She stood up despite her statement, brushing off her black skirt and pulling her tie down just the slightest to make herself presentable. “Whatever, I know you’re gonna crucify me if I don’t do it - money, after all.”
A smirk settled on Kyoya’s face as he watched her reluctance. “Of course, dear. Don’t want to keep those undergarment-chasers waiting, do we?” (Y/n) rolled her eyes. “If they try anything, leave and let someone know, of course.”
She chuckled at the taller male, “Of course, Ootori. I’m not dumb, I could easily put them in their place.”
The two shared a look before the female seated herself on the assigned couch.
...
The year was passing by quickly, and as her popularity rose, Haruhi’s attention to her became more evident. (Y/n), admittedly wasn’t oblivious to the attention that she was being provided, but she was oblivious to the attention she was providing.
Now, the two sat next to each other in the cafeteria and talked about whatever was on their mind (at least, they did this when (Y/n) decided to show up to eat there instead of setting up pranks for the staff members). The two were showing an immense amount of attraction to the other, yet they wouldn’t come to the realization that they were crushing on each other.
Even the Ouran Host Club graduates could pick up on the two’s liking to the other, despite not seeing them as often as they may have liked. When they did pop in, they tried to push the two together more often with the help of Tamaki himself and the twins. The whole of the club was in on a plan to get them together, sooner or later.
Sadly, that would have to wait for the group as (Y/n) had started to revert back into skipping habits not long after her and Haruhi had developed a close bond.
Though the school had pressed for the person that decided to skip school at least once a week (which was still an improvement from the three days minimum that she’d jump for previously), they still failed to punish her severely due to Tamaki’s pleading and cover-ups.
She was running thin, and frankly, her snark to other students was becoming more apparent. She had begun to let off more expletives than usual at anyone that pissed her off in the hallways, and would run to the bathrooms with no real explanation before planting herself in the nearest stall for the next class period.
This was starting to annoy staff, and Tamaki was walking an extremely tight rope due to it, but he was determined to help his cousin. He would stop at nothing to get her back to the person she was growing to be.
One day, a Thursday, (Y/n) had run off to the bathrooms yet again. This time, school had ended, and while he knew that this would be a brash decision for someone so self-proclaimed gentlemanly, he ran into the girl’s bathroom to tlak to her.
His footsteps weren’t the most silent, but he doubted she could hear him over the amount of mumbling she doing in the first stall.
“This isn’t really happening, you’re just imagining this. You just like them as a friend.”
Bingo.
“(Y/n)-chan?”
“The fuck- Tamaki? What the hell are you doing in the women’s restroom?”
The two left the area after letting Kyoya know that he and (Y/n) wouldn’t be attending to the club for a while. Despite his initial annoyance, Tamaki reassured him that it was something extremely important.
They had decided to walk around campus for a while, mostly in silence as he waited for her to talk. He knew better than to press her on topics such as this, especially at times like these.
“I’m worried.”
Tamaki’s violet eyes reflected worry, his brows furrowed in concern for (Y/n). “About what? You’ve gotten so much better, and you’ve told me that you like it. So, what’s worrying you?”
She sighed and gestured to the garden nearby with her head. Her eyes were silently pleading, acting as a way to indicate that she wanted to sit down. Whether that was out of fear for her emotions or Tamaki’s he was unaware, but he followed her outside and seated himself on the bench that had been laid before the lavender plants and roses.
“It’s...it’s Haruhi.” The girl paused, took a  breath, and continued yet again. “I don’t know what...what I’m feeling for her..”
With a comforting hand resting on her shoulder, he spoke quietly. “What do you mean by that? You both enjoy each other’s company, from what she had said and you have shown. It isn’t contempt, is it?”
“No! No, it’s not that, it’s just...I think...I think I like her.”
Tamaki practically lit up at the statement. “You do? I swear, she does too, she’s just really oblivious. I can get you two together, but-”
“Tamaki, I appreciate the offer, but I know she doesn’t like people like me. Haruhi doesn’t like people that can’t keep the word ‘fuck’ out of their vocabulary for five seconds. She doesn’t like people that refuse to maintain a reputation that’s squeaky clean and extremely fucking poised. Worse yet, I know that even if she does like me, her reputation would be ruined by my shitty one - and that’s simply by default!”
Tamaki remained silent as she continued, his hand still resting on her shoulder as his raised arm fell to his side slowly. He leaned in to listen to what she had to say closer. “I don’t want to drag her into my bullshit, otherwise I would’ve said something already! She just - ugh - she deserves someone that isn’t so nasty.”
As she let her face settle into her cupped hands, he sighed. Some thinking had to do the job, because she had been making such good progress and she was gaining more proper respect because of it.
He knew she wouldn’t care otherwise, as she liked getting into trouble and basking in the adrenaline rush that came with the things that she did, but Haruhi had to remain well-mannered or else she’d be gone from the academy.
Then it hit him.
“How about this? You go home and think over this for the day, take a few days off from the club, and get some rest.” (Y/n) was listening attentively, wishing for something good to come from her cousin’s words. “Of course, you’d still have to attend school, but you could sneak some stuff in during break - you didn’t hear that from me.”
The female chuckled a little at his words, but she gestured for him to continue. “We were planning to have a ball soon, and Mori and Honey-senpai will be attending as prized guests. You can join us in hosting, but if you want to to, you can leave early.
“We want you to be as comfortable as you possibly can, after all - that, and.... Well, I know you and Haruhi like each other. I’m going to do whatever I can to make this happen.”
(Y/n) paused, seemingly frozen for a good second, before she leaped out of her seat and started smacking his shoulder. “What the fuck, Tamaki? You know that I don’t want that, she’ll be ruined! Anyway, she doesn’t like me! Seriously, how the hell do I handle you sometimes?”
Laughter left the male’s mouth as she slowed down, eventually letting her screaming cease in favor of a similar giggle. A gleeful smile gradually formed on her face, and the two finished their small sessions of laughter with panting.
“My god, Tamaki, you are one crazy asshole, aren’t you?” she inquired playfully, breaths peeking between the words as she regained her breath from her sudden actions.
In an abrupt action, Tamaki’s dramatic abilities came into play, feigning a face of horror as he uttered loudly. “That was extremely unladylike - you’re lucky I haven’t called for daddy!”
The (h/c) gagged before grabbing what she had of her things and flicking him. “Let’s go; I need to go home, and you need to go back to the host club.” The taller blonde dropped his act and followed suit.
As they left, a shorter figure stood by for a while after. A small brunette stood huddled tightly in formation to hide behind a pillar, having listened to the conversation that the two had shared.
The amount of vulgarities that lined (Y/n)’s speech was a little shocking, but that didn’t phase Haruhi as much as what the content of it did. ‘She...likes me? I never noticed, I just...wow.... Is this why she’s been going through my head so much?’
She smiled hopefully, making sure to run back to the host club before Kyoya had added anything more to her already over-the-top debts.
...
A few weeks had passed by now. More havoc was seen around the school from a week prior, all by (Y/n)’s doing, and the host club was back and full for the first time in a while.
The week was prefaced with the aforementioned female sitting behind a curtain doing whatever she needed to do while listening in on any and all meetings that the group shared. Her grades were the highest they’d ever been - something that both scared and calmed the teachers - and she had been saving time for after school to do anything that was particularly crazy. The best part of all of this was that she had not only been able to begin attending classes again, but that she had also begun to think.
Thinking about things helped her out now, and she managed to get away with many more annoying things before jumping the stealthy gun and going absolutely crazy with her pranks. It also helped her out with her emotions, and she had realized something very important.
Especially so since the ball that Tamaki had proposed they held was to be this weekend.
(Y/n) had been debating on what to do for the coming event, but eventually settled for her tendency to wing it for stuff like this. She had an idea of what she wanted to do, but things change and she wasn’t down to make any specific plans for the day.
Otherwise, there was something that she was heavily torn on. Her feelings towards the androgynous brunette host were getting harder to contain, the twins were starting to see the effects that had come with it, and they were holding a prank over her head if she were to avoid telling her soon. (Granted, they weren’t aware that she knew, but she had ways of getting information out of people - intimidation tactics definitely work.)
She wanted to yell them to Haruhi if that’s the last thing she did, but two turnouts hit her square in the face. What if she said no? Well, then she would be devastated, and considering that this is the first person that she has actually cared as much about (romantically, of course), she’d be worried. If that were to happen, would she push herself further into herself? Would she lose the progress she’d be getting? Maybe she’d permanently jeopardize her chances at a future?
On the other hand, what would happen if Haruhi said yes? Would she run away and claim that is was false, or would she stand by and be at a loss for words? What about Haruhi’s reputation? Normally, (Y/n) would be preaching and standing by her status as a deviant at the high end establishment, but this? This was different, and she knew this - it was inevitable that her reputation would follow Haruhi and ruin the already somewhat tainted one that she already had. Privileged prissy students were already something to tip-toe around for the beautiful and wealthy, but a poor scholarship student was bound to face more detrimental consequences by the student body.
The whole scenario was leaving the collected girl in an extremely confused mindset, and it was starting to peek out to anyone that was able to see that her notes had little doodles hidden in the lines of the topic notes. She knew how to hide it, but Tamaki - the normally oblivious prince - had been the person to see the coded messages in her notes when he was helping her with her work for a project.
The fear that was hitting her due to this was harsh, much more so than normal. For once, she was truthfully scared - she didn’t like it.
Haruhi, on the other hand, noticed her improving after the chat she had eavesdropped on a bit ago. She also, for once, noticed that (Y/n) had become a bit more interested in what she was doing, sometimes even trying things that she normally wouldn’t try.
From time to time, Haruhi would throw out a random idea for a prank that she had wanted to see as a joke, and it would have come up on the campus courtyard within the week. It flattered her, and seeing as she knew that (Y/n) was one to prank and cause trouble wherever, whenever, and for whatever? It made her flustered, frankly.
With the ball coming up soon, too, she was determined to relax for the night, hopefully with the (h/c) beside her. No fear, nothing, just an image of her and her continually-developing crush standing beside each other under the stars - cheesy imaging, sure, but she enjoyed the thought.
They both had opposing stances on the event, though, and that was what Tamaki had caught onto first. He had seen the glances that had seemingly become more representative of longing, and he wasn’t going to do it. He had a plan, and he’d be damned if it didn’t work.
...
“Ready, men?”
“Yes, sir!”
“Are the decorations in the room prepped?”
“Yes, sir!”
“How about the music?”
“Ready!”
“Great, now the scenery. Balcony completed?”
“You got it, boss!”
“Amazing! Now, boys, let’s go cater to some girls, hmm?”
The gaggle of hosts had gather together earlier than others, already coming prepared and dressed, excited for the formal evening. A plan was looming over their heads as well, and they were driven to get it completed to perfection.
The subjects? Haruhi and (Y/n), of course!
The two were unaware, courtesy of strict regulations regarding the scheme, and a new relationship was most definitely going to be formed later in the night. For benefit of both, privately, but they had to get the ship to sail.
While the boys were meeting, (Y/n) was at home going through her closet. Big fancy ballgowns were never up her alley despite the many times that her parents had tried to force her to wear them, but they had given up after she would wear them with some ‘improper’ shoes or switch the dress out for a button-down and formal pants.
She had run through all of the gowns in the front of the closet before reaching the back, finding where she hid all of her favorite formal clothing. It mainly consisted of options that people around her would normally trash her for, but she had persisted in her action to wear it.
There was a plethora of short dresses that she found comfortable, even some lighter colored ones that she would typically gag at and hide away from. There was a section strictly reserved for dress pants and shirts, and some ties were set up beside them on a shelf. There was even some shoes that she would wear for formality purposes if they were absolutely necessary (read: for future privilege purposes).
What stood out to her in her search of what to wear, though, was a silky (f/c) dress, complete with a small back lacing detail and a low-cut neckline. A pair of tights with a lacey pattern in black, a simple choker, and some sensible combat boots would tie the whole look together - might as well dress up to dress up and dress to impress while she’s at it.
She reached the garments, grabbing what she could fit in her hands and leaving said closet in choice of getting dressed.
Haruhi was being cornered by the twins and dragged to a room near the club room where there was a wide collection of clothing to choose from while (Y/n) had the benefit of taking her sweet time.
Hikaru had tossed a dress that he had presented to her on a mannequin (which proved that the garment would be extremely skimpy), as did Kaoru, but Mori and Tamaki were quick to jump in and remove her from the dresses and to a changing room. She was promptly handed a dapper suit and told to get ready.
(Y/n) had slipped the (somewhat) formal wear on, making sure that everything fell just right. It didn’t take long until she had called for someone to help her with her hair as she had little intention to wear makeup, and if she were to, it’d be very little.
A servant of the family had slipped into the room and started to brush through her hair, and decided to curl it just the slightest. It fell to frame her features perfectly, and as the servant left and she did some light makeup, a smile started to spread across her face.
For once, a formal event left her excited. Whether that was her suppression of the fear from the day before or a weird way to redirect it, she didn’t know, but she enjoyed the feeling. The fact that the thought was leaving her excited also drove her to fluff her hair a little bit before grabbing her cell phone and her bag.
As she was on her way out of her room, she stopped and looked in the mirror. With her hair done, some makeup on, and a dress that usually would skip over unless she had a good reason - she paused. She stood stock-still and looked over herself in the mirror, seemingly glancing over a girl who she didn’t recognize.
It was so different than her typical baggy t-shirt and torn jeans, so much so that she couldn’t believe that it was actually her reflection. She looked...pretty, for once, not grunge-y and dark. It brought more confidence to her as she texted Tamaki that she was on her way to the school.
She got into the limo that he had sent for her, and she was on track for the academy.
Haruhi had been getting prepped at the academy, courtesy of the host club. Kyoya and Tamaki were making sure that the decor of the ballroom was up to par, the twins were waiting beside the hairstylist and makeup artist they had hired for her, and Mori and Honey were greeting and making conversation with the females that had decided to attend the event.
Annoyance was a familiar expression on her face as she had tools prodding at it and people pulling her hair in what was supposedly called ‘styling’. She was willing to put up with it for the night, though, if it meant that (Y/n) would be able to see her.
She didn’t know how this would have hit her, but she was finished not long after a knock was heard on the door. She was already full with an odd mixture of fear and excitement, but when she saw the (h/c) female walk in, her jaw almost refused to leave the floor. If it weren’t for Hikaru, it most certainly would have stayed there.
Tamaki had rushed into the room, got a view of his little cousin all dolled up, and ran to hug her tightly. The air left her lungs for a second, but that was prevented due to Mori pulling him off her. A small ‘thanks’ was uttered before she was pushed towards Haruhi.
The image in front of her held the same power that she had to Haruhi. She, the troublemaker who refused to keep her mouth shut, was left speechless. Her hair was done in a refined manner, her face held some light touch-ups, and the suit that she donned was making her features appear more clean and sharp.
“Wow, you look...you look gorgeous, (Y/n).”
“I could say the same to you, Haruhi.”
The whole of the hosts watched on in intrigue, waiting for someone to say something more, but that was interrupted in favor of discussion. After all, each of them had to uphold a specific image for the night, and if that was a failure to up hold, well...beware the wrath of an annoyed Kyoya and an angered Tamaki.
It took around fifteen minutes to make sure everything was covered accurately and thoroughly, and the club was left to the night.
They made an announcement, presenting the festivities of the night and the reward for the best dancer. Similarly to the previous year, the winner would receive a kiss from Tamaki, and the night would go on.
Everything had begun with extravagance, catering was going on and handling the plethora of attendees with quick succession. (Y/n) had the pleasure of witnessing Haruhi go googly-eyed at the mention of fancy tuna for the umpteenth time, busting out laughing at the image of her holding a plate in one hand and a fork in the other, stuffing the food in gleefully.
In contrast to Haruhi, (Y/n)’s interest was peaked by the amount of shenanigans that she could pull overnight. The doors were open to the club, and if there were rooms left out and were lacking anyone inside them, that meant that those were primary times to pull pranks. She had already snuck out of the ballroom to a supply closet to create chaos in a staff room nearby. Haruhi had watched her run off and enact her plan, refusing to stop her in favor of watching the glowing glee that radiated from her as she did so.
Everything that had been happening was being monitored by Tamaki, and alongside Kyoya, the twins, Mori, and Honey-senpai; they were almost ready to push the big plan into action.
Operation (Ship/name) was to be put into action in T-minus ten minutes.
The night had continued to pass by happily, and around the start of the competition, Hikaru and Kaoru had dragged (Y/n) and Haruhi off (respectively) into different hallways. They had to interrupt their conversations, but everything was just starting.
While Kyoya had been initially keeping an eye of the plan, he had requested that Mori and Honey stand by the twins while the competition was being done. Tamaki was stood beside him and had provided specific action for the duo as before they took their leave. Thankfully, a majority of the attendees were caught up in the night, and failed to notice the group of hosts leaving.
As the twins had brought the respective person to an assigned room, they had made sure that the lights were kept off for a bit longer. The subjects of the plan were left to wander around the room in the dark, eventually finding themselves by bumping into the other.
When the quartet had heard the sound, they had made a quick job in turning the ceiling-rigged lights on. This left the two under an indoor view of sparkling lights that mimicked that of stars, making the two realize that something had been planned. (Y/n) had remained staring at the ceiling lights while Haruhi was left staring at the floor, only then letting the situation hit her.
The two of them had remained in their own little worlds as Mori had let the curtain blocking balcony open, leaving moonlight to creep into the impeccably decorated interior and allow it to glow under the night sky. Everything seemed too surreal to be generally close to reality, but the setting provided a sense of pride and comfort for the (h/c) female, which then led her to make a brash decision.
“Hey, uh, Haruhi?”
The said brunette lifted her head from the tiled floor to make eye contact with her, and the view that met her sight left her breathless for the hundredth time that night. The glow from the moon let her features pop, almost made her appear to be glittering, and she couldn’t form any coherent thought for a second.
Eventually, something did come to her head, but it took an extra prod from aforementioned female to do so. “Uh, yeah? What is it?”
“Well, I...”
The hidden group had stood behind in a dark corner, watching the scene before them unfold. Honey-senpai had a hand pressed against his mouth as he gripped Usa-chan tightly, Mori maintaining his stoic face despite his eyes, and the twins gracing michevious grins. Tamaki and Kyoya had left to ‘deliberate’ on the winner, but they were watching with interest from a corner opposite to that of the other four - Tamaki had his own han dclosed around his mouth so no squeals of joy could be heard in the quiet room.
“I, uh...I like...you.”
Haruhi’s eyes widened at her shy declaration. She had known the girl for a while, but she had never expected this to be how she handled something like this. Normally, she’d jump right in and shout the claim, not beat around it and stutter. This shocked her, and before she could utter a response, (Y/n) had spoken again.
“Listen, I know you may not like me, or you do - whatever. I just needed to get this off my chest, and if your answer is no, don’t be afraid to tell me.” She came off as bold, but one look in her eyes would tell even the most unaware being on planet Earth that she was truly terrified of the answer.
“(Y/n), I like you, too.”
It took everything in the viewing crowd’s power to keep themselves from shouting praises and congratulations at the two females.
(Y/n) lips twitched upwards, forming the largest smile anyone of the group had seen on her face. It didn’t match the usual mischief that it normally did, nor did it seem like she was hiding something; for once, it looked like a real smile from a place of happiness rather than benefit. “Really? Great, I just feel the need to warn you of something before you say anything else, if you even decide to do so.”
Haruhi’s interest in the statement was brought to the speaker’s attention as she continued, “I get that I have a bad rep, and that what comes out of my mouth could rival that of a sailor. And, despite that, I’d normally jump at the chance to ask you out, but...”
The crowd of hosts watched on in anticipation, both worried and hopeful that thei rnew declared OTP would hop onboard the ship and allow it to sail.
“I just want you to have a good time here, and I don’t want any of my fuck-ups to reflect on you. People here are vicious, and you’re already in the vein of students that get shit on. I should be the only one to deal with any stupid fucking repercussions from my own bullshit, and I don’t want to pull you into it. Now that I’ve told you that, you can tell me if you’d-”
The interruption was very sudden, and the way that it was done left even the hosts shocked. Haruhi had pulled (Y/n) to her and kissed her, preventing her from continuing her worried rant. A few seconds had passed before the magical moment ended.
The both of them were left breathless following the contact, and Haruhi’s next words brought joy to the (h/c)’s face. “I don’t give a damn about your reputation, all I know is that I like you and would like to date you.”
Tamaki had watched on in calm glee, the scene giving him a sense of joy that he hasn’t felt in a while. Seeing his troubled sister come out of her previous stump so strong made him so proud, and brought a new sense of pride to him along with it. She has truly shown that she has changed for the better while maintaining her typical attitude towards that world.
“Thank fuck! Okay, now that that’s done, you wanna dance with me, your newfound girlfriend?”
“But there’s no music, (Y/n),” Haruhi chuckled out. A gentle smile sat on her lips as she spoke.
“You think I give a damn? We don’t need any music to dance, y’know.”
Music had started to play from the background, cued by Tamaki pressing play on the radio remote. Speakers blasted a gentle slow song, and though the girls were now made freshly aware of the said blonde’s actions, they decided to forego any ounce of annoyance in favor of each other’s arms around the other’s waist.
The slight squeak of (Y/n)’s boots and the slight shuffle of Haruhi’s suit was comforting the to whole of the club.
Before long, the two had ended their short dance, allowing the six men that stood watching from the corners to reveal their presence. They had made it clear that they were only doing this to make sure everything went smoothly for the both of them, but before their short spiel could be completed, (Y/n) ran and jumped onto her cousin’s torso. If Tamaki’s hug left her breathless, her hug left him completely dead.
The group had left the girls together in the room while they had decided on the winner in another room, and when they were done, they had gone to gather the girls for the announcement.
Once the winner was crowned and the night had regained any sense of energy that it had lost, the new couple had made their way to the dance floor. The spectacle of two members of the club dancing together had left some of the attending students speechless, but the two remained unbothered as they had waltzed around the floor gracefully.
Some people had watched on in awe at the two, never stepping in to stop them. Some of the viewers also gushed at the image, presumably falling victim to the ship that they had shown over the span of the year to this point.
Once the end of the song was coming to the climax, (Y/n) had returned the kiss that was given to her by Haruhi earlier in the middle of the floor. The onlookers’ jaws had hit the floor as they continued to get into the action, the twins watching the scene while trying to suppress their laughter at the expressions of the people around them.
When (Y/n) pulled away from the lip-lock, she laughed at the incredulous expression that rested on Haruhi’s face before flicking her shoulder. “You little-”
“Oh, trust me, baby - I already know.”
The crowd had let the moment pass somewhat, and the night continued along well. As the night was ending, though, some people had shot dirty looks at the two. This, of course, prompted (Y/n) to flip them the bird and a formal ‘Fuck you’ as they exited the building.
“Was that really called for (Y/n)?” Haruhi asked in amusement, watching as she shrugged her shoulders.
“A girl can do what she wants to do, and that’s what I’m gonna do.”
The remainder of the night was left to the club, Kyoya directing the staff to clean whatever mess there was the other five males were left to their own devices. The girls had left the commotion in favor of the starlit room, leaning against the balcony and watching the clouds in the slightly-chilly night sky move in formation.
As they had been throwing out suggestinos as to what shape they were forming as they moved, Haruhi proposed another question for the (h/c) beside her. “What about your reputation? Wouldn’t dating a scholarship student ruin that for you?”
(Y/n) paused, did a double-take to her and the ledge she was leaning on, and spoke up. “Please don’t tell me that you’re asking the same damn thing I did earlier? I already have a bad rep, and I frankly don’t care about it.”
“But, it might make it worse-”
“I don’t give a damn ‘bout my bad reputation, and I would highly appreciate it if you would refrain from claiming that you would be detrimental to it. I taint my reputation, nobody else.”
“Fine, fine....”

Theme: Technoblade is the king!!! This was just something I thought of while listening to my friend play the violin.
Characters: Technoblade, Dream, Wilbur, Tommy... I think that’s it.
Warnings: bit of language from Tommy at the end but I think that’s it! Lemme know if I missed anything.
Word Count: 2774
A/N: listen I was super descriptive in the beginning and it dropped off at the end forgive meeee ;;; but also enjoy!
It had taken Technoblade a while to get accustomed to living in the Overworld, but even longer to get accustomed to being a king. Thoughts of being back home often plagued his mind, regardless of where home really was. This - the castle full of echoing hallways and paintings that did no sort of talking back - was not it. Maybe home was back with the piglins in the Nether, or maybe it was in the little cottage that was essentially just a shell now… but again, it wasn’t in the castle.
The hybrid’s days consisted of small-talk with aforementioned unresponsive paintings, practicing his archery out in the area he’d designated for such sport, accidentally making promises he couldn’t keep to the people under his rule, and playing the violin with what little spare time he had left after anything else unmentioned. He enjoyed the violin, and at the very least he was glad that the castle was good for carrying the sound.
Sometimes, Wilbur came to visit and would bring his guitar. They would play music with each other until one or the other was dragged back to their duties. Wilbur was free in Techno’s eyes, but Wilbur in his own eyes was almost literally shackled to the life he had made for himself and couldn’t seem to change. Life was just cruel, and the two of them knew that stopping it was out of the question, lest they be punished further.
Tommy was another story. Tommy led his days with as much joy as he could, which made appearances at the castle even more scarce than Wilbur’s. When he did visit, the entire castle almost seemed more like home. On more than one occasion, Techno would offer Tommy residence in the space, but it was always turned down. It was understandable, really, but Techno would offer each visit anyway.
As for Phil… well, he would send letters, but that was all that Techno got from his father. Any family further than immediate wasn’t big on communicating with him either, and they normally only reached out when they needed something from him. Talk was talk to him though, and whatever they needed was swiftly provided albeit how out of greed the communication was.
“Your Majesty,” The advisor spoke softly from the doorway to the king’s chambers, startling the half-piglin from his thoughts. The pink-haired male looked over to the source of the voice, giving a soft smile in his direction. “A letter from your father.” To prove this, he held up a neatly sealed envelope, the crest on the wax the same as it had been when Phil himself was king. Techno waved the other male in to set it at the desk.
“Anything from Tommy or Wilbur recently?” Techno moved his braid to lay against his back, looking up at the elder, who shook his head. “I see. I suppose I'll have to write something to them. Tommy’s birthday is soon, so I figured I could round the two up here and make a day of it.” Smiling fondly, he moves his inkwell closer to him.
“That’s a wonderful idea, I just hope that there’s not too much trouble involved.” The older man waves a finger as he places the envelope of well-wishes on the desk.
“Ever since becoming king, there’s never been a day of trouble. It’s quite exhausting knowing that I had to grow up so quickly,” Techno bites back bitterly. He missed the days when he was uncaged and hardly had a responsibility to name. Now here he was, sole ruler of a kingdom he hadn’t given a second thought back when he was younger.
For a while, his royal advisor stayed quiet. Though he didn’t enjoy the attitude from the king, he understood that the younger male had been forced to rule and wasn’t really here voluntarily. He did note, however, that for someone who had been left the kingdom unwillingly, he did a fine job of ruling it. “Also, the invitations have been sent out, your Majesty.”
Right. Invitations. Damnit. “I wish you could have just forgotten about the whole thing,” Techno complained, dipping his pen into the ink and putting the end to the paper. He loved to write letters, they were his favourite. He was rather proud of his penmanship, so that made them all the easier for him. Then again… how would he write it? He didn’t want to be too formal, since these were for his brothers, but he had to keep some kind of proper to his words. He’d fallen so far out of it with his brothers that he didn’t know how to talk to them anymore, and he felt pretty pathetic for it.
He ended up thinking so long about it that it left a puddle of ink in the middle of the paper. Now he needed a new paper.
“I told you that I would hold you to it, so I simply made and handed out the invitations by myself.” The advisor chuckles softly, letting a hand rest on Techno’s shoulder, before he exits the room and leaves Techno to his thoughts again. Once Techno got a different paper, he slowly started writing how he thought it would sound best, although it sounded awkward. He hadn’t intended on it being awkward really, but it came out that way and he figured it sounded best like he would sound around his brothers. He made a separate one for the other, then sealed them both up, after neatly and precisely folding them to nestle into the envelopes with no issue.
He was starting to think a lot about those invitations. It felt sort of like a betrayal, having the advisor do all of that without notice after Techno made wise cracks about having a royal ball to find someone to marry and have rule alongside him. It felt too cliche, like it had been done one too many times before. He knew he’d heard about other kingdoms doing the same thing, and it just felt… overdone. It didn't matter too much, since he figured he wouldn’t find someone he would like right off the bat, but it still bothered him that he hadn’t been informed of the finalcy of actual planning.
Techno looked over to the envelope from his father, the seal a bright blue in contrast to the dark red that Techno used when sealing his own envelopes. He couldn’t remember off the top of his head which kingdom usually used blue for their seals, but Techno figured that’s where Phil was at the time of writing the letter and sending it off. He picked the envelope up and examined it, then carefully opened it to retrieve the letter from inside. He put down the envelope and unfolded the letter,  reading the words until his eyes went blurry.
Dear Techno,
I was surprised to see when young women started receiving invitations here and in other areas, and even more surprised to find it was from you. Or, well, the advisor! I figured he’d be retired by now, but when I saw him here, I obviously had to ask about him, and you.
I know how you’re feeling about this whole thing - trust me, I do. Just know that I gave one female in particular an invitation. I’m not telling you who, but I promise that you’re very likely to be interested in getting to know her!
Besides this whole ball situation, I hope you’ve been well and not giving your brothers too much grief when they stop by. I worry about you three a lot, so it would be nice if you could all see each other and get along more often. If you three manage to meet up for Tommy’s birthday or plan to, let me know beforehand so I can possibly show up as well.
We miss you, Techno.
- Dad
After Techno had taken in all of the information and wishes of wellness, his first initial thought was, ‘of course he would say he might be able to show up’. Though not meant in a bitter way, it came out bitter. He had his reasons for bitterness, though. Almost every letter he receives from Phil has some version of the same line, but never once had the older male appeared. Sure, there were times when Phil was busy, but Techno knew he wasn’t busy all the time. No one person could be busy all the time. Not even him, and he was ruling an entire kingdom.
There came a sharp knocking on the doorframe, so Techno turned in his seat. Dream stood there, adorned in his usual attire of light armour and emerald-coloured clothing underneath, with the additional smirk on his lips. “Your Majesty,” He said dramatically, bowing as far as he could, then straightening back up.
“You could have warned me of your arrival, so maybe then I could evacuate,” Techno replied jokingly, motioning with one hand to enter the room. Dream strode in, looking around. “So, what brings you here? How’s living out in the forests going for you and your friends?”
Dream shrugged his shoulders, sitting at the edge of the king’s bed and sighing. “Well, living out there has been great, although Sapnap and George could always use a little separation since they argue a lot.” He laughed quietly, a small smile replacing earlier’s smirk. “They’re both great though. I couldn’t be happier in this life.”
Dream’s wording sounded a bit weird to Techno, but he didn’t ask questions. “Anyway, why are you here?”
“Oh!” The green-donned male went through his bag and fished out an apple - a golden one, the colour shining where the light from the window hit it - and set it on the desk that the king still sat at. “This is for you. You know how hard those are to get, so be grateful.”
“If I accept this, will I be indebted to you?”
“No, of course not! It’s just a friendly gesture, since you’ve been so much help to me in the past. Just keep it, okay? I have to go.” Dream patted Techno’s shoulder, then quickly made his way out of the room. Techno was alone once more.
Putting the apple with the rest of the golden apples in his collection, he let out a heavy sigh and looked to the clock. It was already past noon. Lunch would be soon, but Techno’s appetite had left long ago, so he figured he could skip it. Lunch was a rather unimportant meal in his day, and he wanted to replace that time with something more fun.
Finally, he stood, looking toward the violin case that rested on the window seat. A little bit more practice couldn’t hurt.
The sun had set in the distance, sinking below the horizon and giving way to the night in it’s dark glory, stars covering the blanketed sky and twinkling in such a familiar way that Techno could have sworn they felt like friends. The stars had seen every bit of his life in the Overworld, and had never said a harsh word or judged him based on what he did and didn’t do. Although he had friends that spoke to him sometimes, they weren’t the same. Stars were judgement-free. Stars were always there for him, even if he couldn’t see them.
He sat on the balcony leading to his chambers, looking up into the star-speckled sky, thinking about the events of the day. After that bit more of violin practice, he had been forced to eat even a little, then was sent out to talk to some of the people in the kingdom. Though mostly uneventful, the day had been sprinkled with some interesting events.
He had seen a child dressed in a miniature-sized cape that resembled his own, with a blue painted cardboard sword and a crown of the same material, who said he wanted to be like Techno when he grew up. The king had stayed to talk with the little boy for a bit longer, before his father came out to get him for dinner.
He’d also seen a proposal right in the square, which he had congratulated after the ‘yes’. He didn’t really see the appeal of love and marriage, but they were happy, and that was enough for him. He still didn’t see him getting into a relationship of such a kind in the future, though.
He got up from the balcony’s bench, then went back inside. The day had worn him out thoroughly, so he was ready for it to be over finally. He changed into his nightclothes, putting the ones from the day into a basket near his door for collection. He had insisted on doing his own laundry in the past, but the staff would have him do no such thing. Sometimes, though, Techno was able to do it in secret. He wanted some semblance to his old life, even if it meant sneaking around to do his own laundry once in a great while.
Techno made his way over to his bed while undoing his braid, a soft yawn escaping his mouth before he finally settled in for the night. It didn’t take long for the room to go quiet, save for the soft snoring of the king as he slept.
Morning crept it’s way slowly into the window, the light filtering through the curtains and painting the large room in a warm glow. The sunlight left even the sleeping king in a heavenly glow, and slowly his ruby eyes fluttered open. Sitting up, Techno rubbed the remaining sleep from his eyes, then stretched his arms high above his head. There was faint birdsong from outside, and it was a comfort in the loneliness that was the castle.
The half-piglin threw the covers off, then stepped out of bed and stretched again, before heading to the wardrobe and choosing an outfit for the day. Most of said wardrobe consisted of ruffled shirts and black pants, which was only a slight upgrade from what he wore back before his ruling, as well as a couple of nice jackets that he saved for colder weather. After putting his sleeping clothes into the basket, he runs a brush through his long, pink hair, putting it up into the usual braid. His mind was still too sleep-clouded to make a coherent thought, so he made his way to the dining room, the smell of breakfast like a lure to his grumbling stomach.
“Good morning, your Majesty.” The main chef pulls the male’s chair out, setting a plate of food in front of him. “I hope you slept well.” The woman leaves a gentle pat on Techno’s forearm, then scurries back to the kitchen. Techno picks up his fork and knife, working on cleaning off the plate so he could go start on the day’s activities.
Once he finishes his breakfast, he pops into the kitchen to thank all the chefs, then grabs his bow and shoulder bag with his arrows, striding toward the part of the yard with the targets laid out. His mind had become clear, the tired grey clouds having gone when he was eating.
He took a stance a handful of feet away from one of the targets, pulling an arrow from the back and knocking it. He pulled back the string with the arrow, lining it up to hopefully get a bullseye. Letting go, he watched the arrow miss the middle and hit the second outermost circle. Something was on his mind, and that made focusing on the target a bit more difficult. Maybe… maybe the ball was a bigger deal to him than he thought.
“You’ve gotten rusty, Techno!” A hand comes down on his shoulder, causing him to jump and look over. It was Wilbur! “Woah, man. Didn’t mean to scare you.” He laughs, then gives his brother a side hug. Suddenly, every other thought vanishes, and things feel a lot lighter.
“I didn’t think you would actually come here.” Techno gives a half-smile, patting Wilbur’s back. Suddenly, another familiar voice rings out.
“I’m here too, fuckhead! Wilbur just needs to learn how to wait up.” Tommy bounds up to the two, grinning from ear to ear and making everything even brighter. If Techno was being honest, this was the first time the three of them had been together since the crowning.

I will admit that the first week of the year is quite fun when the finished books come fast and furious since I’ve already been working on them for weeks.
Book number one: Elizabeth Gilbert’s City of Girls. I never intended to read City of Girls, despite good recommendations from several friends. It seemed like the kind of book they used to sell on a squeaky turnstile by the grocery checkout. Those are perfectly fine, fun books, but they’re not generally my style. As it turns out, I was 100% right. It is exactly that type of book. But I was 100% wrong that I wouldn’t like it. It was kinda great.
As I say, I didn’t intend to read it. Here’s what happened: Every Monday morning there’s a chore I have to do for an hour or two during which I like to listen to audiobooks. One Monday in December, I enthusiastically started my new audiobook as I started working. It was The Great Influenza: The Epic Story of the Deadliest Plague in History, by John M. Barry, read by Scott Brick. It took me about forty minutes or so before I decided I couldn’t listen to another second of the ball-gargling and needed to find something else.
I opened Libby and right at the top of the library’s list? City of Girls. Written by a woman, read by a woman, “girls,” right there in the title. It was an immediate exit off the testosterone flooded highway I’d gotten myself stuck in and I took it.
The first half of City of Girls is funny. Some of it is truly laugh out loud funny and I laughed out loud quite a bit. It’s been a long time, to be honest, since I laughed my way through a regular book, and that in-and-of-itself is reason to recommend it. (All those books that are more “my style” sure leave a lot to be desired in the funny department.)
Halfway through, City of Girls becomes a much different book—partly because it seems like someone just pushed a fast forward button. Initially, I didn’t approve (and I’m still bummed and a bit miffed about how that whole thing went down, but no spoilers) but I will admit that by the end of the book, my perspective changed.
The thing is, first we get this very in-depth story of about a year or two in the life of the main character—this blow-by-blow deep dive into her early twenties—and then the second half of the book covers the next seventy years! As it was unfolding, the time jumps felt clunky, like a poorly loaded die. But I will admit, looking back, that now I kind of love that. I mean, that’s how life is. Time speeds up. It just does.
The major events of her adult life appear like rings on a lake after the stone has just barely touched the surface. But that’s how it is! And then, reader, I got married, and we had a family, and I loved them more than anything*. And it is that way because there just aren’t words for the really big things. I appreciate how Gilbert manages to mirror this, but at the same time, offer some lovely side paths in Vivian’s adulthood that help reflect the big things too.
It’s not a perfect book. It’s not for everyone. But it’s a good book and I’m glad I lucked into it.
*these aren’t, for the record, the big things in Vivian’s life. You’ll have to read the book to discover those.

“You’re really cute…when you let yourself talk about things you love.” Absent-mindedly Sullivan complimented him, leaning on his hand. Happily he has been listening to a passionate rant of information. Every little rabbit hole Muus brain brought to him, all the fun stories. It was really nice. To get to hear the real him. “I hope we can talk about things you like again. So I can see you that happy more often.”
Besides him rested numerous plastic containers with barriers that many used to store fishing lures in. His on he other hand were labeled with different initials and numbers that marked his uniquely thought out storing system. Inside many of them were a variety of miniature items made from materials such as polymer clay, felt, shrinkable plastic, and wood. Resting on his lap as he spoke freely on his most recent passion was a notebook that he had been doodling out ideas for additional items to be made later on.
Words also appeared to be etched in between sketches with great significance yet he managed to multitask in conversation so swiftly that none of them parted through his lips as he went on with his attempt at describing to the other what it was that he aimed to do with all of us uniquely made miniatures. Amongst the growing list of adjectives was the term 'passionate', which he would later find a tad bit of humor in due to the fact that he would then begin to speak openly about what he aimed to do with an idea that had only just recently popped into his head earlier in the week.

"Sully", he began, "Do you know what a diorama is? That is kind of like what I am making, but they are going to be more like how I think the inside of a Poké Ball, or a Polly Pocket shell would be."
How exactly he wanted to approach that idea was still being determined in his drawings. He hadn't yet decided if he wanted to store his ideas inside something as simply as a tiny house, or to up the difficulty by trying put his hand at making something akin to the inside of the brain instead. If he was willing to really do his research, and figure out how to even begin adding it in, he'd have pushed it even further by including in some sort of musical trait into it as if they were very unusual music boxes.
"I've been feeling very out of touch with myself. That's why.. I am making these little houses, I guess, for the parts of me that stand out the most. That way they have places to be that are not only of their own, but also that are safe to be in as well. That way I can kind only just focus on the parts of me that are here right now instead of feeling all of the feelings of all of me's at the same time."
Showing seemed easier than risking confusion with his long string of words, so he ceased moving the pen across paper long enough for him to switch out the pad entirely for the most filled of all of the bins with the marking of the number sixteen across the top. That had been the first one he wanted to work on out of reluctancy to really even begin thinking about what he would've used to describe himself during other core moments in his life, but also because he had been really weighed down the most by pings of jealousy and resentment that he knew were stirring from the loneliness and guilt that blossomed into fruition as a teenager.
"These one's are all the things that I see when I think of me at sixteen. This one is an itty bitty version of Aime Jr. Aime was my best friend that moved away to France, but b- before that, he gived me a hedgehog that I named after him. Once I even had a real hedgehog that I named Baby Aime, but I'll probably save him for later 'cause I got him when I was older. I still have him, by the way. The stuffed animal that is. He's very beat up looking from having gone to lots of things with me before I kind of out grew bringing him along, but.. I do still like to think back on when I still had Aime around all those many years ago."
From there, he very excitedly hopped from one item to another; explaining each one's individual meaning before immediately following it up with another. In his chatter, he went on to describe making miniature versions of the favorite books he used to beg his older brother to read to him since they always seemed to be easier to understand when he heard them in a voice other than his own. Or how he simply just did so to not so secretly trick his sibling into sharing the bed with him long enough for him to drift off to sleep with him at his side instead of alone.
Also happily presented were tiny versions of some standard looking Valentine's Day cards and some even tinier stickers he designed and cut out using an x-acto blade. Both were heavily enjoyed by him during that time in his life since he held such largely positive feelings towards things that were either cute, or were associated with love in any way. His dream back then had always been to experience a fairytale love like he watched in movies, or heard about in songs by Taylor Swift songs, as he knew that his chances of that were not necessarily as high as they may have been if not for his perceived sensitivity and slowness.
And while he was still somewhat still shifting through the hurt of his plan to make that kind of dream come true didn't work out as intended, that was not the only reason he purposely chose to keep his focus on making items he associated with himself instead of himself in association with the person he was dating at the time in his life. His decision to do so had not been made out of a lack of love for that individual, but rather because he wanted to keep the home he was making for the boy he once was be one crafted from as much self love as he possibly could have.
"There's still lots of other things I could maybe make to go into the home for the Muu that was the littlest, I guess. Like if I made things relevant to dating for the first time, since th- that was a very core thing for me when I was only sixteen. I don't.. really want to though, because I feel.. like that is where a lot of the guilt of being me comes from to begin with, an- and I don't want to stick him into the house for him right back into those feelings all over again. Of not.. loving in the right way, or of making things harder than they needed to be even if maybe I didn't mean for it to be that way. I'm.. making these little houses, or whatever they're gonna be, so these littler versions of me get to be tucked away into spots of healing. That's why I- I am maybe making all of these things, but not even use all of 'em, because I want to make sure the space is happy for them. I don't.. want them to cry because something doesn't feel safe."
Even in the seriousness of his words, he never strayed away from wanting to ramble on more regarding the thoughtfulness behind his intentions. What he was working on was obviously of great importance to him. Even more than that, he seemed to have been so caught up in his own motivation that he'd failed to even really notice how expressive his body language and facial features became when he shared on about even just the smallest of things that brought life into him at such a young, impressionable age.

Or at least he hadn't until receiving the compliment offered by the other male. Out of what seemed to be embarrassment, the blond instinctively pulled a hand away from sorting through his miscellaneous items to pull the fabric of his shirt up to protectively cover the lower half of his face. In reality, however, he was more so hiding away the surprisingly boyish grin that silenced his moving lips. As well as the growing shade of pink that existed around the nose that sat above them. He was still very much getting used to being spoken to as if his company was desired rather than being hypervigilant of the backhandedness that came from people spending time with him out of obligation or manipulation rather than genuine companionship. Unlike in the many months prior, though, he at least found himself really enjoying the affirming words of endearment offered by the raven.
"Oh, thank you.. I'm not very good at talking about myself a lot of the time. Or of even just.. knowing myself, but you.. you know, th- that is something we can at least, kind of.. learn together maybe?"
