actually I love Tentoo and he is the Doctor and it was the only ending for Rose that worked and it is a huge gift to be able to have the man she loves grow old with her, they were always heading for that, y'all be quiet. I 100% understand the angst but it's okay, they're okay, good ending-

#did you want her to...not end up with the doctor?#she ended up with the doctor. she ended up with the doctor and they get to AGE together #they get to have a real honest relationship the way they both always genuinely wanted #it's hard that the full time lord version has to carry on without her but that is the way that character's story ALWAYS goes #the doctor does not get to keep ANYONE. it would be a different show if he did #meanwhile there is a version of that same face of his - the one that was MADE for love? particularly born out of love for ROSE? the one 1/2 #2/2 that always wanted a FAMILY? and stability? and a normal life? the tenth doctor longed for that specifically because of rose #now he gets to have it AND be part-human so he doesn't have to watch her get old. he gets old WITH HER #and they're canonically growing their own Tardis so you don't even have to be sad that they're not adventuring in time and space as usual #because they ARE. it's the kindest ending for either character. and if the full time lord hadn't left without either of them-#-he would have had to lose them eventually. lose Rose because she's human? hello? painful? but instead he was selfless and left her-#-with a proper happy ending. which she CHOSE to have so you can't be like “he tricked her!” she chose to kiss one of them and it was Tentoo #they are the same man. Rose won in this scenario.#and I GET IT I am with Billie Piper I think it will always feel a little off that she was left with Tentoo and not the full time lord #I understand. it still makes me a little sad. but I know it's a good ending writing-wise. really the ONLY ending.#yes I know about the popular idea of Immortal!Rose or Bad Wolf Rose or whatever and that's cute and all BUT - it's not a GOOD thing #it's not PREFERABLE to be immortal. Getting REAL sick and tired of how omori TikTok views sunny.

Like, they view any scene of him being emotionally vulnerable, affectionate, or even just making an expression outside of just being completely neutral as “mischaracterised”. He’s not some cool, stoic, unwavering badass, he is a traumatised teenager. Don’t cry whenever he dares to give his friend a hug or (god forbid) be SAD about something??? Isn’t like. Part of the point of his development about him allowing himself to break down the repressive walls he built when he shut himself in? And being able to rely on his real friends instead of imaginary versions? And isn’t the game like. Meant to SHOW that he still cares about them despite isolating himself?

It’s really stupid to get mad at a character like that showing emotion or affection personally, especially since he’s not used to expressing it properly after so long. But that’s just me

#this isn’t even solely about the manga though it inspired me to make this post #any piece of official art in which sunny dares to show an emotion is shunned as ooc and I’m sick of it #he only appears ‘neutral’ throughout the GAME’s narrative because he HAS NO FACE SPRITES #because he’s the protagonist and has no actual dialogue #therefore he only makes a few expressions the entire game #obviously manga sunny is a good bit more expressive than canon sunny but #it’s REALLY not as bad as TikTok is making it out to be #I’m so TIRED of this character being viewed as nothing but a rock that ONLY has personality before and the game’s events #not allows to emote at all because ‘he didn’t do that in the game!!’#because he is restricted to ONE face sprite the entire time outside of the battles #omori is a DIFFERENT case and I can admit that manga omori is a good bit more expressive than he should be but #he’s still VERY stoic especially compared to sunny #which is what is should be #sunny should be quite closed off but in contrast to omori so much more human #that’s like. a massive part of their dynamic I feel #anyway this is such a long rant but god im so angry #I’ve seen one too many people cry ‘mischaracterised’ at a teenager expressing feelings #PLEASE stop it #also this is not to say you can’t critique manga sunny’s portrayal #because there are a few issues I believe #which are honestly really hard to dance around considering the factors I mentioned before #about having one expression most of the game and two lines of dialogue the entire time #and honestly? “Red team was so selfish looking past the cursed team like that” listen man they were thinking about it often, and had evidence they were cursed too. They were convinced they were cursed too. Bad (with Pierre’s help I’ll be honest) singlehandedly destroyed any sort of civil relations and good faith between the two teams and this shot Blue in the foot when they tried to make the case about them being cursed last minute, about trying to rig it in the cursed teams favor.

There was never a cursed team in the first place, it was all a tactic to build paranoia and that feeling of betrayal and to get them to tear eachother a part. And it worked super well! At the end, neither would listen to the other about their evidence, not with an honest open ear, not with the willingness to think the other team could be cursed. It’s not a case of ‘Red just refused to listen because they wanted to win more than they cared’ they thought they were cursed too - if they were selfish, then so were Blue in the same way.

Every time Red had tried to talk first early on, it was met with extreme violence - and with Bad consistently proving he’ll play dirty to win, they didn’t trust Blue enough to listen to them in the later game. Maybe they should have listened then. Maybe Blue have listened earlier. The game worked as intended to set them against eachother.

#link is to another post I made back when they were debating about the cursed teams in purgatory and why red couldn’t trust blue and blue #couldn’t believe red. they were both stuck #and bless Tubbo he tried. he did try. but he was just as convinced he was right as Phil at the end. it was about convincing one another #more than it was about coming together and piecing together the evidence. yknow what I mean? they all cared about it but because of tension #and they also could not trust blue. which sucks because that’s hardly Tubbo’s fault but yknow #I dunno. it’s not simple like that. it’s not a case of red blowing it off being selfish not caring. they also thought they were cursed #AGAIN I’ll say it again bad burning bridges fucked a lot of them over for when diplomacy had to win because there could not be benefit of #the doubt or good faith or any sort of trust #it’s not just cut and dry red wanted to win more or blue wanted to win more. it was complicated and had way more factors #red thought they were cursed too!! they had solid evidence for this too!!#and like. again it’s a case of both parties kinda suck purgatory sucked it was always going to be like that because the game worked as #intended #idk. blue should have listened to red early on. red should have listened to blue later on. they were never going to do that on either side #idk from Tina’s pov it’s understandable why she said what she said. but knowing the others pov and what actually went down that’s not what #happened at all yknow?#they’re all gonna be feeling the effects of ‘we killed and betrayed eachother for two weeks’ for a while to come #mcyt #qsmp #qsmp purgatory #z speaks

So, I have this oc named Nick, he's a 26 year old detective in the 70s, and just today I started to realize that he's oddly similar to Fenn in some aspects

The thing is they're completely different characters in a different setting with different external AND internal conflicts, but there's still a lot of things they share:

• they both like cooking

• they both wear their hair combed back

• they were both raised by their uncle

• they both try do deny being in love with someone because it threatens the (terrible, horrible, not good) values they had imposed on them as children

• they're both B I G

Hmm I think maybe one of those sticks out a little more than the rest

it’s not actually that weird that people are saying “harry potter was never good, actually” after joanne went full mask off, and no it doesn’t mean that we all secretly think harry potter is amazing but don’t want to admit it. it’s pretty simple actually: most people read harry potter when they were children, when they hadn’t read a lot of other books and therefore didn’t have a lot to compare it to. then every time you reread it as an adult, you’re looking through pretty hefty nostalgia goggles. then, after you’ve realized that joanne is a violent bigot that wants you and / or people you love and care for dead, those goggles are broken and when you attempt to look at hp again you’re more likely to see it’s flaws. it’s not rocket science.

#like don't get me wrong people have pointed out stuff wrong with hp since the beginning #both the bigoted aspects of it and the simply bad writing aspects #but it was in bits and pieces and far less vocal #whereas now you see its more 'wait a minute the entire series is lowkey shit' and is a lot more people saying it #also for people like myself #you read a lot of fanfiction and saw a lot of fan discussion and so whenever you reread harry potter #that stuff was in the back of your mind whether you meant it to be or not #and it maybe caused you to think that what you were reading was a lot deeper than it actually was #because you were taking all this fan content as canon even if nothing of what you were actually read in the text suggested it #but then when everything fell apart you hadn't even thought about harry potter for a good while and that fan stuff wasn't in your head #and you could see the text for the mess it was without the bolstering and hole filling that fandom had done for it #i speak #anti jk rowling #and there's also the point that when harry potter was at its peak popularity the entire world was reinforcing the fact that this is amazing #so you're less inclined to find flaws because somethign this big cant POSSIBLY be bad
