You’d been working on a project together, that’s how your crush started. Honestly it was his fault for being so god damn attractive and one of the sweetest humans you’d ever come into contact with. 

Deep down you felt foolish for having feelings, I mean after all he was older than you and not just by a couple of years. Chances he saw you the same were extremely unlikely— at least that’s what you thought but your luck was about to change.

You stood in the corner at a wrap party for the project you’d been working on— you’d helped yourself to more than a few glasses of champagne to keep your nerves at bay. Regardless of how many times you’d been to these types of things it never got any easier to mingle and put yourself out there. 

Thankfully one of your fellow colleagues who you now considered a friend stood with you, laughing and joking about the various things that had gone on during shooting.

“I can’t believe it’s all over.. But I have no regrets.” She chimed in, giving you a slight nudge. “What about you?” 

The champagne was definitely getting to your head and without even thinking you blurted out. “I wish I’d made a move on Hayden— what an absolute daddy.”

You waited for a laugh but it never came, in fact your friends face looked shocked, the colour draining from her face as she gazed over your shoulder— you didn’t get the big deal, you’d both joked about this on multiple occasions and she’d been well aware of your crush.

“What’s wrong I—“ your gaze followed hers and before you could finish your sentence your heart dropped. Standing right behind you, eyes fixed directly on you was none other than your co-star Hayden Christensen. 

From the weird look on Hayden’s face there was no mistaking that he had heard what you’d just said. You felt as if you were going to be sick. “I’m so sorry, excuse me.” Without even waiting for a response you hightailed it out of there, sitting your champagne down on a random table you glided past.

Your only saving grace was that the party just happened to be at a hotel which everyone was staying— you found the nearest elevator and stepped inside. You leant back against the wall, closing your eyes to feel everything spin. You were slightly drunk and embarrassed beyond words. 

You began spiralling into your own thoughts, completely unaware that someone else had entered the elevator until the sound of someone clearing their throat snapped you back into reality— eyes opening to find the last person you wanted to see standing right in front of you and before you could do anything the doors shut. Fuck. 

Hayden stood before you, only a couple of steps away. Staring at you with an unreadable expression. “I just wanted to check you were okay.” His deep, raspy voice filled the elevator, sending chills down your spine. God he was so perfect in the suit he was wearing, with his gorgeous brown locks and blue eyes— you shook your head. 

“I am so sorry—“ You practically squeaked the words out, not even knowing where to begin to try and fix the damage you thought you had done but before you continued you noticed an amused smile forming on Hayden’s lips, a small chuckle leaving him. 

“It’s fine, if anything I’m flattered.” He took a step toward you, you could smell his cologne now, the scent made you want him even closer. “What I want to know is what kind of move you’d make.” 

Was he making fun of you? The smile on his face had turned into more of a smirk— This was different to the kind man you were so used to dealing with on set, this man was making you tremble, in the best way. 

You were unable to respond. Tension was thick in the air, it was beginning to feel like the longest elevator ride of your life until the loudest ‘ding’ had you almost jumping out of your skin. 

Glancing back toward the open elevator doors a sudden look of disappointment took over Hayden’s features. “Some other time.” He turned, stepping out of the elevator and beginning to walk away from you. 

Regret rushed through you, were you really just going to let the opportunity slip through your fingers after you’d been fantasising for a moment like that for months. 

It took all almost everything you had but you followed him out the doors. “Wait— I’ll show you.” Hayden turned toward you and without waiting for him to respond you closed the distance between you, lacing your hands up through his hair, pulling him in for a kiss. 

Maybe it was the champagne but you swear you felt a spark of electricity as your lips connected. It started off so soft and gentle as if he was hesitating to reciprocate but before too long his tongue was gliding against your lower lip, begging for entrance.

Your tongues danced together, his hands quickly finding their way to your lower back, fingertips lightly dancing along the fabric of your dress, the sensation causing a yearning to start between your legs. 

All too soon he pulled away, a look of panic crossing your face before he quickly put your mind at ease. “Not here.” His hand found yours, leading you down the hall toward one of the hotel rooms. 

You took one last look over your shoulder as he swiped his key before walking forward into Hayden’s dimly lit hotel room.

So im currently doing a project on minorities and their treatment in healthcare, with a focus on disabled people (includes physically, mentally, and people with diagnoses such as adhd, autism and so on), mentally ill people and lgbtqa+ people through interviews.

So im going through my textbooks one by one to see if there's anything perfect for me to use and in my psychiatric textbook from 2018 there's legit an entire section on transgender people, saying we're sick, mutilating our bodies because we hate ourselves and want to be the 'opposite sex' to pretend to be someone else and im legit so fucking angry at seeing shit like this in a supposedly 'progressive ' country holy shit

zoning out and mishearing? lol what? i'm someone who zones out ALL the time and because i know i do that i NEVER touch/drink/take/etc. orders without being perfectly aware they are mine. i would never jolt back into a room and just assume the thing was for me, i'd clarify. the fact that all the examples had the service-workers prompt the name multiple times is worse. some people are asshats who do not care; it's as simple as that.

Zoning out and dissociating are different things - can’t remember if I said specifically dissociation but that’s what I’m talking about. You can’t just “snap out” of dissociation lol it takes grounding exercises and a whole bunch of effort- and that’s assuming you’ve realised you’ve dissociated in the first place. It also means someone says things to you and you don’t register at all even when they say it right to your face - hence why you might not realise it’s not your name. You’re running completely on auto-pilot with what you EXPECT to happen. It’s a legitimate mental disorder and you’re being hella fkn rude assuming it’s the same as you just “zoning out”. Most people “zone out”. It’s not the same thing. Or maybe they were high idk - but either way, they’re not gonna just “snap” back into reality like you can to double check cause they’re basically in zombie mode the whole time. And good luck to you if they do snap back into reality cause they dissociated for a reason, so there’s a chance they’ll snap back into a panic attack or forget who they even are/what age they are/where they are depending on how deep they went. Have fun dealing with that on shift.

sorry we can’t all be perfect lil princess like you. Most people have to make the mistake at least once before they realise they need to take extra steps to prevent  it - not like this is a story about the same person coming in multiple times and doing The Thing. Maybe the people in the examples really just don’t care, but that’s not true for most people.  I’ve worked in the service industry for years so I know the struggle but guess what? It’s the shit that happens and it’s part of the job. Getting yelled at and abused isn’t okay but someone making a mistake, even if it seems super ridiculous to you, isn’t beyond the scope of what to expect and adjust for. People these days just assume the worst of people half the time and I’m kind of sick of it? Like I don’t think OP was doing that so much as just venting/talking about a funny situation. But you are and people in the comments were - it really ain’t that deep.  people do stupid shit sometimes - they’re human, they’re allowed to make mistakes. Is it an inconvenience? Sure - it sucks and it makes more work for everyone. Disgruntled

Not sure why, I just feel like a vent. Some questions I have to raise for myself. So I’ve recently discovered what they call the “void” in emotional terms, yes, the rock bottom feeling of worthlessness. It fluctuated back to normal, but there’s this underlying feeling of meaningless to everything I’m doing. Not to worry, I’m seeking professional help.  Maybe it takes extra reminders to myself, why I’ve chosen this path of art (I’m studying animation to hopefully be a content creator with my artistic skill). Content creating is something I’m quite interested in at the moment, and quite receptive to. I’m working on one of my weaknesses - storytelling, and getting better. I’m also trying to engage my intellectual mind with psychology podcasts. I’m so tired of hearing about games.  I find myself easily under-stimulated these days, and I get lazy. And I give up. And I feed my feelings of boredom.  I may not also be choosing the best people to surround myself to become my best version of myself. I would like inspiring people. I listen to music with heart and rhythm, and it speaks to me. Sometimes when I’m feeling my best I get into a singing mood. When I engage with people who resonate on my level, it’s such a buzz. Is it wrong to want more of these exchanges? When I speak to these people - I come away saying to myself “remember this feeling” because when I’m at my lowest, it’s easy to think of despairing thoughts, so hopefully consciously remembering the good feelings anchors me back to the “me” that I want to feel. The me that’s inspired, full of life and zest and capable of taking on any project. Full of ideas.  There’s a rebel within me that’s angry, fed up, restless, wanting to change, wanting to grow, wanting to express, wanting to have stimulating experiences and exchanges.  I honestly feel a bit trapped and unhappy. I keep coming back to these thoughts and reconsidering my situation.  I just don’t feel nourished in a particular way. Is it then selfish of me to want to manipulate the experience I want, rather than the grounding I may need.

Sometimes I’m just not loving, and I’m quite aggressive and irritable. I think if I saw myself from outside my body, I wouldn’t like it. But the anger and restlessness must be a deeper symptom. Or maybe I’m just having a tantrum of laziness/boredom and there’s no excusing bad habit forming. But srsly, we’re both fkn lazy. I can’t stand trying to pull up both our weights. I’m not a fucking caregiver motherer. I’m over this. Just. Fuck. my life. I’m eating myself silly even when not hungry I’m getting that dopamine cause it ain’t coming from anything else. Or it’s very little. Sometimes even my studies feel like escapism, getting away from my actual problems.  But no, it’s up to me. Fuck community. What community. I’ve only known how to rely on myself. People annoy me so much. I can’t seem to rely on people. I can’t seem to communicate and get my needs across. I’m sick and tired of repeating myself, and carrying the same agitated and tired face. This isn’t me, and I want to break out of this shell.

Sigh. K. Today was a bummer. Started off in a good mood and ended with me feeling like shit because I've been sick since before Christmas when I fell down. I haven't been able to take my tongkat because I keep running a fever from my jaw. Which right now I can't get worked on because I might start to seize on my dentist again and they basically told me to go somewhere else anyway. I can't be sedated. Doesn't work. So basically my teeth are crippling my immune system and poor health plus lack of outdoor time is really shooting me in the foot. I haven't felt comfortable going for a walk alone. Falling down in traffic and having trouble getting up without help kinda makes one leery. So things have just suffered and I'm pretty much exhausted in so many different ways because of the other crap I've dealt with on top of this crap. So yeah. I have been a bit antisocial. Fucking had a self involved prick up my ass for months that couldn't realize anyone cared because he was too busy hating himself but goddamned if that stopped him from yelling at me. Or accusing me of bullshit he was so obviously doing himself and projecting. The fuck. I was loyal, Fkn well behaved stayed at home. I did not deserve all this projected crap from his old relationships or his own activities.
