Confession Sunday:

I am currently failing 3 out of 7 classes cause I’m trying to catch up on assignments and work AND find time to sleep 🙃😒. And my manager is playing around with my UTO saying she doesn’t have to approve it if she doesn’t want too—I have three trips this year, possibly four, I NEED to go. I hardly ever miss work, I’ve never used my benefits yet, and while everyone else gets to travel I’m stuck because I can’t find someone to cover my shifts.

Is horrible that I wanna call her boss or like, the president or something, and get everyone fired for negligence?

First of all.... 7 classes??? Whew! Is this college? Or high school? 👀

Cuz 7 classes sounds like a LOT for someone who's not even working on the side....I can't even fathom taking 7 classes AND working. 😲 😱

The max of classes I used to take a semester when I was in school was 4.... maybe 5. Then again, I was usually also working a PT job on the side as well, so it was rare that I wasn't working AND going to school.

Awww girl.... Is there a way you can lessen your course load this semester? Or do you HAVE to finish all your classes this semester due to financial aid/scholarship reasons?

I wouldn't say anything to your boss' boss.... at least, NOT YET. 👀

See if maybe you and another coworker can switch shifts or smthg. You take a day or so for them when they want to be off, and they cover you on your shift when you want to be off? See if some might be willing to trade with you.

You can also try asking your boss at a more opportune time for time off?

Also, do you HAVE to take 4 trips this year? 👀

Could you lessen those to three.... or maybe even 2? Lol 😆

hi darlinnggg! it's going well (however a bit overwhelming atm bc a lot of studying</3) how are uuu doing!! i am in my 2nd semester of electrical engineering & honestly yeah it is pretty hard</3 i enjoy most of the things i am studying (maths when i can actually solve the problems ++ circuit analysis when it makes sense + coding bc sometimes it can be fun<3) but it can get difficult for sure. wishing i am a flower shop owner or a baker most of the time! thank u angel sending lots of love ur wayyyy <3

Omggg hiii, I didn’t realize I had an sucess story of my own while reading loa post but I literally didn’t realize that I unknowingly manifested me getting an iphone when I was like 12-13! I used to only get androids and my family would say how it was very impossible for them to buy an a phone like that (iphone) and just a bunch of things that were supposed to demotivate me but I wasn’t listening to a damn thing🤚🏽I would kept daydreaming all the time about having one and just doing things to motivate me for getting one like I would watch videos of people having iphones, make those comparisons charts like “iphone vs androids” I would slander androids all the time like people were so tired of hearing me do that💀 and pls😭 I would even search up those scamming websites that would say “get a free iphone” if you did this or that, yea I was so obsessed with those websites, I just knew I was going to get an free iphone buy giving out my personal info😍 (it ended up destroying old samsung phone💀) but around like 7th grade into the next semester of the school year, my family had got income tax and my mom basically ended up giving into me getting an iphone, I did at first think I was gonna get another android phone or that I had to wait another time to get it and nor did I think I was gonna get that phone on THAT DAY, but she meant it😲 we went to a plaza with a seafood restaurant and the phone store near each other, we had to go the seafood restaurant first then the phone and I was like “we’re actually going- ok hmm🤨” I’m sorry this might be painfully cringy🤚🏽but I could I remember how happy I was when the worker pulled out the phone, and it was affordable😯 I literally in shock, I was like, “THIS IS MY PHONE??? HUH???” It was the iphone 6, that phone made me feel popular in middle school💀🤚🏽 I still have that phone but I don’t use it anymore caused the camera is damage and whenever I got the screen fixed the phone repair company couldn’t push it back in place not put a new lens in the phone, I do have a new one right now its the 7 but I don’t think I’m gonna get a new phone soon I’m satisfied with the one I already have but yea, I just wanted to say this since I was reading about living in the end and the state of knowing and they finally made me understand how to use those two, making me thing about this situation! :)

i had to go look up whether raccoons are nocturnal and it turns out they are 😲 they sleep during the day and wake up at dusk to go scavenging (and partying in dumpsters hehe) idk if raccoon hybrid!reader is fully nocturnal, it would be inconvenient if she was bc she probably has small errands to run and wants to hang out with steve and her friends 🥺 likely if she was living on her own, she could go full raccoon and be nocturnal but she follows a regular human sleep cycle just for steve 💕💕

I knoooow! There are 3 different versions of the song, since there’s been several adaptations of the original novel, and they’re all beautiful. But the Audio Book version is my absolute favorite. 🎵🎵

But TBH, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Jumanji remake was! I was ready for it to be total trash, but it was fun! BETTER than the original is pushing it though, Wei Wuxian. 😅

Omg this is actually a painfully accurate song for Wei Wuxian, considering he really was the little orphan Annie as a kid; living on the streets getting mauled by wild dogs before daddy warbucks Jiang Fengmian adopted him and took him to Lotus Pier. 😭

Stupid theory/headcanon/fangirling incoming!

I don’t think we ever find out exactly how Jiang FengMian found WWX--in both the donghua and live action he just shows up randomly in Yiling, cuz it’s close to Lotus Pier I guess.

HOWEVER! The donghua added this WILD scene that’s never mentioned anywhere else, how the Lan clan was visiting Yiling back when WWX was living on the streets, and that Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian had actually met as kids!

The scene with LWJ & WWX, and the scene with JFM & WWX are told out of order (IDER which episodes they’re in), but logic dictates that LWJ must have bumped into WWX first, given him the toy; then sometime later WWX was attacked by dogs and rescued by JFM & adopted.

But check this: what if LWJ and the Lan clan were actually visiting the Jiang clan at Lotus Pier (on super important cultivation business, IDGAF), and Lan Wangji TOLD THEM about the homeless kid he gave his toy away to, and that’s how JFM knew where to find WWX!? 😲🤯😲🤯😲🤯

SO LWJ HAS BEEN THE GOAT SINCE CHILDHOOD! 😭 Happy Hanguang-Jun(e) Month indeed!

You teach 5 classes in one day? Where I am that's a whole day of teaching, how do you manage so much plus your own research? 😲

sadly it is a whole day of teaching where i live as well haha. i teach 25/26 hours a week this semester! i've always had this weird thought that i have to have each minute of a day filled with something productive and i guess that's what i've ended up with :D

i tend to plan my days thoroughly to know when i may have a break for my phd stuff. i usually start teaching around 3 pm and finish around 9 pm, so until then i to find time for research and writing! to be fair, after five days like this i'm totally exhausted on the weekends and just tend to sleep in and re-charge!

i think the discipline helps as well when the motivation fails - i have this goal of reading one journal paper a day and brainstorming for my phd (already using literature and plan out separate sections). if i'll manage to do more than it - great! but if not, i still know i've done enough!

6. favorite background/minor character?

everytime I hear “onward background character,” my mind automatically goes to Theo! he’s a nice innocent guy, and because he was the animator’s favorite, like…the fact that they adored him so much that they wanted him in the background of every scene is so funny, I love it! 😆

also have a soft spot for the deaf girl who signs that Ian “is cute” at the beginning of the film. I mean…she’s not wrong lol. anyway I actually caught that little detail the very THIRD time I watched Onward! I was innocently looking around the scene where Ian is about to enter his school, when suddenly out of nowhere I noticed it, paused the movie, replayed that part, and asked myself: “wait…is she doing sign? it looks like she’s doing sign!!” but I didn’t really know for sure...that was, until an article came out a few weeks later basically confirming it, so wouldn’t you it? I was right! 😲

and it’s funny: the only reason I really recognized that it was sign in the first place is because I actually live in a community where I see people doing sign language pretty much on a daily basis. I can’t do it personally…yet. but hey as long as I’m bringing it up! I’m actually going to be taking a beginners sign language course this semester! We’ll see how far I go in terms of being able to say “he’s cute” but I’m really looking forward to it! 

10. favorite song from the film?

“Carried Me with You” is an automatic favorite, I love that song! And Brandi Carlile! but I’m also gonna go the score route for this one… 

I say my favorite pieces are (in no particular order): Going on a Quest, New Ian, Led Us to Our Victory!, Two Teenage Elves, The Trust Bridge, and A Little Magic

there’s obviously others but I’m just gonna leave it at that for now 🎶

14. which deleted scene is your favorite?

The three I go back to the most are “Unstoppable” “Training” and “Sirens” and I think that’s because those are the scenes I would like to see past animatic form! but specifically because young Ian and Barley are so precious and adorable in unstoppable! 🥹 training is just so fun and enjoyable to watch 🤣 and sirens has our brothers plus Jenny facing some devious villains! Emphasis on VILLAINS!!! 😈

26. do you own the film on physical media?

Yes I do! just on DVD tho, no blu-ray or deluxe package or anything like that…I mostly go to Disney+ for it anyway, but yeah the DVD is just cool to have! 📀

29. do you think the film will ever join the treasure planet/atlantis club of disney films that become more loved later on?

I most certainly hope so!! Onward deserves more love all day everyday 💗

30. if you could, would you add to or change something about the film?

Overall I wouldn’t, I love it just the way it is! 😍

I guess one thing is I kinda wish the end credits were a little more exciting...

I understand that since this story is based on Dan, his brother, and the mystery of their father that that’s why it’s got a more subtle, serious tone to it. I just look at some of the more bold, colorful, and creative end credits other pixar movies have and the transitions for them as each person who did their part comes on screen and wish onward had something like that (next to having “Walt Disney Pictures Presents” and “a Pixar Animation Studios film” come up before the title…but whatever) 🎞

also mid credits scene I guess? those are always fun and is one last extra opportunity to make the audience laugh! or to tease something…

ok forgive me for my less active posting, finals are next week and dead week is absolutely killing me this semester 😭

anyway! I said I'd talk about this later and then never said anything lol so here I am

on my close friends insta story, I talked about past experiences with older men trying to go after me and mentioned a classmate I had last semester who was 48 and just generally kinda weird

I went to abelard's office the next day basically to say thank you for dealing with my anxiety the other day about my outfit and I said "I know I probably crossed a couple lines.." and he shook his head and said it was fine, then said "it was incredible...you say things that--you can be so quiet, but then you say things about things that might be weird and I don't think I could do that" which he's told me something similar before but it was interesting to hear it again

anyway, then he was like, "I'll ask something that is maybe inappropriate" (I was like😲😲😲 🤨🤨🤨 what is he gonna ask??) he lowered his voice and asked "who is this guy that-" (asking about the classmate I had mentioned)

I explained that he def didn't know him, and then I explained the whole story/my experiences with this guy (don't really wanna retell that here rn) and abelard was grimacing and cringing at all the stuff that this guy did. I finished talking and he said "at least it's good fodder for a story" and when I didn't really react he said "is that inappropriate to say?" I said no it was fine to joke about it lol

Since we were on the topic, I told him about my experiences with a coworker I once had and again abelard was totally disgusted by the stuff this guy did/said.

Then he said, "Well, I'm glad you never had any experiences with our colleague" I asked who he meant and when he told me I said "oh..hm, yeah" which obviously made him curious so I explained that this other professor had given me weird vibes, I caught him staring at my chest a lot, and he once said something to me about my face/appearance when I didn't wear a mask to class, so nothing serious but I just had a feeling. I said, "it's really good to know that [he has a history of being gross with students] though"

I also told him a joke that I like to make after these experiences with the coworker and classmate: "my ability to pull middle aged men is insane" and he laughed so hard at that like threw back his head laughing hahaha, then I told him the joke like "i thought 39 [coworker's age] was bad, god said try 48 [clasmate's age]" which he also thought was funny.

he said "But we're in the clear now?" I said "yeah, no middle aged men trying to go after me" then he said, "yeah, any 50 year olds-" and stopped himself to ask, "Is that ok to say?" because not only was he joking about me being harassed by older men, but also joking about the progressing age gaps LOL I thought it was so funny

Also I was a little embarrassed during this whole convo because 1. I have a crush on him 2. he is an older, middle aged man and here I was talking about older, middle aged men harassing me 😭😭😭 he thought it was fine though and didn't mind talking about it

In the program i’m in, there’s three leadership programs; training (which i’ve completed), advanced and executive. :)

Just finished day two but so far so good. I’m in driving school for the next few weeks. I’m currently studying for my permit test next week, hopefully i pass lol 🤣🥲

I’m a psychology major, I’m thinking of taking anthropology since I couldn’t pass biology for the life of me 🥲 I’m also thinking of taking an accounting elective! Not my degree but I think I’ll have accounting as my fallback plan (flight attendant being a primary career for me)

Ooh 😲 that sounds so interesting! Anthropology is fascinating! I took a Anthropology course at the Museum of Man in San Diego, when I was younger, and it’s one of my favorite subjects. I highly recommend it, and yeah, Biology is a hard course to get through sometimes! My sticking point is Mathematic, so I can understand!

I almost took a psychology class my second semester, but opted out after having someone try to set me up with a guy who had majored in Psychology and Mathematics and he talked about nothing but that ☹️ and then he showed up at my school as a professor of mathematics lol 😂 also, though I do like Psychology, I don’t think I’d be a good psychologist. But that said, Psychology is a pretty interesting subject and major! And ooh 😯 a flight attendant sounds like an amazing career! Flying around the world and getting to help people, that sounds excellent, what drew you to that idea for a career? I find flying and anything to do with it, pretty fascinating actually 😄 wish you luck!
