Still thinking about Brennan talking about Tula on Adventuring Party and about how usually he plays characters who have big personalities and can be counted on to escalate, and how Tula is a massive change from that in that she is very reserved and deliberately not fighting with her overbearing mother or her more successful sister but just quietly swallows her frustration. And on the one hand it's true - even his PCs who might be inclined to avoid certain conflicts due to their precarious positions (Evan Kelmp, K.P. Hobb) are also, as a built-in thing, going to fly off the handle; his Worlds Beyond Number one-shot NPCs are obviously extremely unhinged (though to be fair so are everyone else's, because A County Affair and Space Cram: Reasonable Hoop Dreams are not precisely grounded and serious things); and such characters as Deadeye Cybin, Raphaniel Charlock, and Sean Finnerty are built to be shit-starters.

This makes a lot of sense for someone who usually is the GM! GMs, when they get to play, often make great players because they play characters who Do Things and open up new avenues and plot points by taking wild risks! But two things are very true when it comes to Tula. First: this archetype isn't one Brennan plays as a PC, but it's one he does masterfully as a GM, especially for middle-aged women (see: Caramelinda, Steel - who, yes, is both confrontational and also holding back a LOT). Secondly, the other "usually/often a GM" tell is having an incredibly good sense of party comp and the reason why Brennan can play someone like Tula is because literally everyone else is a shit-starter.

Misa wakes up right before the end of "A Foolish Love" and that's enough for her to feel that there's someone out there that gave their life for her. That's enough for her to hold on to.
