I am never ever going to be over the Citadel's window and HWR's chair combining to recreate the shape of Odin's throne, all the gold in the marble being sucked into the gilded chair until Loki sits down and the last of the Citadel blows away...

The ending of Loki kills me inside because from the very start
Loki never truly wanted to rule. He never wanted a throne. He wanted to be loved. By Thor and by Odin. He didn’t want to be alone. That was his glorious purpose.
Tumblr media
He managed to convince himself that he wanted the throne for only a little while before he met Mobius. The TVA, his new family, his new best friend/lover was his true Glorious Purpose. When all of that was threatened, he was willing to do anything to stop it. But he never wanted to be alone.
Tumblr media
That’s how it ended for him, however. Following his destiny, his “glorious purpose”, he had to give up his new life and all of that love just so they could be happy. He now has to sit and watch his actual Glorious Purpose from afar, stuck on a throne. All by himself.

No, but like ok,
Loki season 2 episode 4 spoilers 👇
so Loki had to choose to um ... "end" (?) himself again? But not because he didn't see a life for himself, but because he knew for a fact there was a life for himself out there? I'm going to be thinking about that one for a while.

MCU 1: Space Sequels
Thor: Ragnarok v Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 v Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thor: Ragnarok {original-Thor (2011)}
I've watched this thing so many times. It's just a delight from beginning to end. The colours, the whimsy, the characters, genuinely I'd put this up as best mcu movie (maybe competing with guardians but that's not a sequel soooo). It's fun and campy and heartfelt!
Guardians Vol 3 {original-Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)} *Spoilers?*
After the last few years for the MCU were hit-or-miss, Guardians 3 was a massive smash success that deserved all the praise, being even better than Guardians 2 and taking the spot of my personal favorite MCU movie of all time.
Guardians 3 is utterly amazing, with some of the deepest and most poignant tragedy, some of the funniest comedy, some of the coolest action, some of the most powerful emotional scenes, and some of the tightest scripting I've seen in movies. The character work, particularly in regards to Rocket and Nebula, is phenomenal, but all of the characters reach their perfect conclusion here, Drax gets to be a father, Peter reconnects with his family, Mantis becomes strong and independent, etc.
Guardians Vol 2 {original-Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)}
It's a fantastic sequel that follows up on all the threads from the previous movie. It has some amazing character development, hilarious comedy, and powerful action and tragedy.

Tom Hiddleston Gave Us Clarity For His Comments About Concluding Loki's Journey, And Addressed Whether He'd Return To The MCU
Major spoilers for the Season 2 finale of Loki, “Glorious Purpose” lie ahead.
Viewers were graced with a truly wacky and emotional Loki Season 2 finale last week. The installment proved not only saw the titular character not only save his friends at the Time Variance Authority but also obtain that glorious purpose he’d long been searching for. Tom Hiddleston – the man who has brilliantly brought this character to life – recently made headlines when he said he viewed the episode as the conclusion of his journey as the character. However, he provided CinemaBlend with some clarity on those comments while addressing whether he’d be open to returning for upcoming Marvel movies or shows.
During the final moments of the finale, the former Asgardian mischief-maker managed to save all of reality by destroying the Time Loom at the TVA and revitalizing the dying timeline branches. With that, he took his place as the God of Stories at the End of Time, where he’ll now watch over all the various branches. Such a development feels like a fitting conclusion, so one can understand why Tom Hiddleston would refer to it as such. However, when I spoke to the actor, he wanted to set the record straight on that:
Well, yes, I suppose what I meant… Perhaps what I should clarify is that I feel very satisfied with the finale of Season 2, because it seems to contain echoes and resonances of the entire journey. It's almost like a piece of music, where in that last episode, you hear strains of, you know, whether it's in lines of dialogue, we are circling the same themes that I've always circled with Loki. But he's a character who is engaged with ideas of belonging, ideas of identity, ideas of purpose. That's who he was at the very foot at the beginning in the first Thor film, wondering where he belonged, which family he belonged to, wondering what his role was in all of this. Thor was destined to be king of Asgard. And who am I? Who is Loki? And I've been asking that question the whole way. Like, who does Loki think he is? Who's he think he is, and who is he really? And then through the series, in Season 1 and Season 2, I think the confrontation with Mobius and the mirror of Sylvie is another excavation, we go deeper into those ideas.
This is a very interesting take and one that is completely understandable. His sentiments on ending his journey were more based on the sheer feeling of satisfaction he feels over his character’s current position. I feel the same way, especially given the points the actor so eloquently mentioned during our conversation. The show (which is available for Disney+ subscribers) does indeed maintain the themes of identity and self-worth that have been synonymous with the antihero since his introduction in 2011’s Thor. So if this is his swan song, that’s surely one heck of a way to go out.
With that being said, there are still MCU productions on the docket that could serve as prime places for the character to return. (Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars come to mind, immediately.) Tom Hiddleston went on to tell me that he appreciates the “poetic” nature of the 2023 TV schedule entry's Season 2 finale, yet it sounds like he can’t say for sure that he won’t reprise his famous role again at some point:
So the end of this was just, it felt like a poetic redemption like the end of a piece of music, but I don't know if it's… I mean, I've made the mistake before of saying goodbye and saying goodbye to this great team at Marvel. And it's been emotional, and we swap notes and [they’re] saying, ‘Look, we'll love you. You’re always part of the family. Come see us anytime.’ And then the phone rings a year later. So I'm keeping an open heart and an open mind.
It’s definitely true that this isn’t the first time fans have been under the impression that the former Tesseract wielder has reached the end of the road. He was meant to be killed off in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, and it seemed almost certain he was done after his death at Thanos’ hands in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. So in short, you really can’t keep a good Loki down, and I’m eager to see whether Tom Hiddleston dons those golden horns again one day.

Captain America The First Avenger (2011) Review
Tumblr media
potential spoilers ahead...
This movie does a good job of introducing Captain America and showing his journey from a skinny kid from Brooklyn to the super solider saving the world. It further builds to the next movie in the franchise, The Avengers. It does use some aspects from the films before it, mainly the tesseract first seen in Thor. However because it's an origin story there aren't many old concepts or aspects in it and those that are there are given an explanation as what they are to the characters that makes sense in this point in time in the story. They do well to establish Steve's personality and drive, particularly by showing Steve trying over and over again to join the army to the point of committing fraud. Bucky, Steve's best friend and a further motivating factor for the mad, dies (or is at least presumed dead) twice in this film alone. These "deaths" are used to drive Steve's heroics further. However, Bucky's only real character at the point of his first "death" is only "Army Solider(tm)" and "Steve's Friend" and that just isn't enough to get me to actually care about the guy we've seen twice being presumed dead. Later in the franchise, Bucky gets more characterization and story to him, but in this film its hard to treat him as the motivator and Steve's drive to do good and help people.
Overall, the movie's enjoyable and full of amazing actors and special effects. I've always loved the effects with Red Skull and the face peeling (I was a weird kid). And watching now, I still find myself impressed and weirdly compelled by Red Skull pulling off the fake face he uses to reveal his red skull. It's just a cool moment and well performed. No actor's performances really stands out because of just how good the entire cast, including more side and background characters, are.

loki s2 FINALE review
it's gonna be a bit messy cuz i haven't process it yet full but i came here immidiately after finishing cuz this was insaaaane....
Tumblr media
as always ofc, spoilers below 👇🏼
the pacing was great, yk how it kinda starts off a little unserious but then it takes a darker turn
loki reassuring & hyping up victor was so 🥹
i was getting pretty anxious that loki may actually kill sylvie since not only that would have been neccessary for the plot, but also could serve as some sort of "metaphor/symbolism" for reincarnation that loki have to kill his old self (yes i say old cuz sylvie technically still has the similar negative traits loki did in 2012 and has overcome them by now) but i'm glad they found another way... pheww 😮‍💨
oh ?? a new soundtrack debut ?? miss natalie outdid herself once again !!
when loki said "for you, for all of us" i think we all had flashbacks to one of the saddest scenes of loki in thor (2011) when he was talking to odin and-
-that gave me the realization of how far he have come like not just personality vise but also in his abilities/powers!
(also something something the fact that he's no longer using his god status to harm or intimidate others but to help ppl and to take on huge responsibilities hmmm)
OHHH COOL TRANSFORMATION LOKI FINALLY WEARING A LOKI OUTFIT IM CHOKINGOMGGF
LOKI GOD OF STORIES SO THREWW
yk this is prolly my least fav helmet of his but idgaf! at least he is wearing one. i grew tired of that lame ass tva uniform 😭
Yggdrasil tree reference!
not ob & casey bringing back miss minutes 💀
mobius looks so fawking sad 😭💔
b-15 not wanting to hide the past is so real, odin should've taken notes.
(about odin, yall who believed that one tiktok comment are looking very silly now just saying)
so i was correct about b-15/verity, she's basically tva's leader now 🙏
sylvie can live her life for real now w/o anyone bothering her, we cheered.
what happened to renslayer, alioth got her? 🤔
have to say this, as a lokius shipper: i'm actually not that sad that they weren't "confirmed" canon, even though it would work + there were hints at it i am still never rly believed they'd make it officially happen. i mean, we're talking about disney here, the same fuckass entertainment that pushes queer couples onto the side or in the back as some sort of "easter egg" n it's doubtful they'd care enough to make a lead character have a gay romance so yeahh 😬
i was mostly satisfyed but i'm dissapointed that it ended so fast like there was no end credits or not even hitting us with the good ol' "loki will return" line, cuz i'm sure it will happen. rumor says he'll appear in deadpool 3 and that he will reunite w/ thor 🤷‍♀️ idgi
on last note, hopefully yall are aware disney+ supports geonicide so it's best to delete the app and p!rate the series. (you can ask for help in case you don't know any good sites to do that 🤗)

I can't even right now.
They recreated the long walk through the throne room of Asgard that Thor took to Hliðskjálf as he was to be crowned king in Thor (2011). Climbing the stairs. The ruins of the citadel window mimicing the curve of Odin's throne before it crumbles away to dust, all the gold leeched out of the marble (including the horns) to cover what remains of HWR's chair.
All this because Loki desires a throne.

So I started that Sylki Arranged Marriage AU, which is already a bit more bloody and murdery than I expected it to be. Rated E for future chapters, nobody's getting naked yet but Thor does get killed. (That's not a spoiler, that's the premise.)
Minimal tagging at the moment so as not to lure anyone in only to disappoint them, I shall be adding more as and when they are needed.
I'm sorry about the title btw but it seemed to fit and I couldn't think of a better one.
Title: The Winter Of Our Discontent (Chapter 1/?) (AO3) Fandom: MCU Rating: Explicit Pairing: Loki/Sylvie Wordcount: ~1000 for this part Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Arranged Marriage, Canon Divergence - Thor (2011), Angst, Enemies to Lovers, Blood and Violence, just starting us off with a bit of wholesome stabbing :), Sexism, Other Additional Tags to Be Added Summary/Extract: Loki has only been the heir to Asgard’s throne for three days and already he is being bartered away as the kingdom’s most valuable resource. That this is, to a certain extent, his own fault does not make it feel any more deserved. He knows that war must be avoided at all costs, but he still resents the cost to himself of keeping the peace. He hadn’t expected to marry for some time yet. He had thought he would have at least a few more years of freedom (and of bedding whoever took his fancy without any guilt) before he would be tied to a wife. And he had, quite frankly, expected to do rather better than a Frost Giant for that wife. But all Laufey has for an heir is a girl, and a runt at that. Suitable, unusually and inconveniently enough, for an Aesir husband. She is partly a gift and partly a punishment, and the same is true of Loki himself; the two of them broke the peace and so it falls to them to fix it.
