ok but your recent ask DID make me wonder what a kindergarten teacher reader x wrio would look like? he does have a soft spot for kids soooo👀

I can see it happening since there might be many children of the inmates who can’t leave (there’s a char from a world quest who was in this situation)

so imagine there’s program set up in the fortress to get the children to a standardised education level (so that when they eventually leave they’re not behind their peers), and that’s when reader gets into the picture. So, it starts off with wrio politely chatting, before it turns into something more. I leave it to the wrio experts to expand on this 🫡

Literally that would be so cute though 🥺 I can see reader and Wrio working closely together too, since i feel that Wrio would make it a priority of his to know that these kids are alright, and he'd even help out with watching the kids sometimes :((

Like like like 😭 The reader would be super sweet in supervising the kids whenever their parents have to work in the fortress, and would keep them in a cute little classroom / nursery place where they can run around and play in a safe place away from all the machinery, yk?

And one day, imagine that the reader made a deal with the kids that if they're well behaved and did well on their test, they can spend an afternoon touring the fortress. And since their kids really made an effort to behave themselves and to study, the reader puts in a request to the duke's office to ask for some extra hands in helping watch over the kids. You just expect him to assign some guards to help out, but you're surprised when he instead volunteers himself for the role instead, claiming that there's no one who knows the fortress better than him, and that it would be good for him to see how they're doing, too!

And from there, you both have fun giving the kids the tour, and it makes them all really like 'uncle Rise-ley' instead of being fearful of him. They even ask for him a couple of times in the days after the tour, and when you tell him, Wriothesley starts coming by more often :(( and from thereeee, he starts visiting after class hours too— first just to check on you and help you grade papers, maybe if you need any books or materials from the surface.

Then it becomes more, like bringing you to the cafeteria so that you don't miss your meals, or giving you your own private tour of the fortress (just in case you need it, of course. Not just because he wanted to go on a long walk with you or anything.) And eventually, the line blurs a bit between simply spending time with each other after your work, and him basically taking you out on cute dates haskdjnas

I like Wesker a bunch. He is a really cool villain figure to me. He starts of as an allie. He is your captain after all ! But then he betrays you and wants you to die. Well it didn't go to his plan and we see him later again as some sort of super human. So we have beef with that guy for years. He is always around in the shadows doing something shady. It's interessanting following up on what he does. Cause you are curious with all that prep time he had what he now had in store. And beating him in the end felt good. His fights were a lot of fun in re5!

Okay so what I don't like regarding Wesker is when people only like a few versions of him and disregard others. What I mean by that is that some people dislike it when Wesker is more silly. Look at Og Re1. The dub for the game so bad that it was good.

Making that Wesker appear really silly and funny compared to his Re1 Remake Self that is really serious and off putting. The voice acting got way better. And Wesker sounds great. You know something is off about him.

The Code Veronica Wesker is overly dramatic, his movements and his lines are so too. The way he talked to Claire and Chris comes to mind. Sounds like he is high of his new powers and plays with them like a cat does a mouse.

I like all versions of him. The ones where he is silly, a serious and creppy character, a more dramatic and funny one and well a unhinged one too. I like him in all games ! I wish people wouldn't be so harsh on his earlier appearances!

We can all agree that Wesker in Re5 was going insane. Quick to anger and happy to show off his strength. Very cocky during the game. He really thought he was way better than Chris and Sheva. And in the end became a monster that was beaten just like the tyrant in re1.

I remember when a bunch of people found Re4 Remake Wesker to look ugly ^^; A bit harsh on the poor guys new face model. (Surprised that he wears this outfit though, I am more used to him wearing a bunch of dark clothes. And mostly stuff that covers him more. Many layers and all)

So yeah in short: Wesker is great to me in all shapes he appears in the games. And that earlier or sillier versions of him aren't bad! Just different!

ok I think I know why listening to the great Gatsby musical made me think so much about Jake. And it's because Gatsby just reminded me of Grandpa Harley. I think about the fact that what we see of Jake's beta self in canon is limited only to a) the larger than life adventurer who has accrued so much wealth he can use to aid Jade in the game while also acting as a sort of substitute for his presence when he's gone and b) a literal stuffed effigy Jade keeps in the living room and projects what she thinks a grandfather figure would act like.

But the thing about Grandpa Harley is that he's Jake at his most repressed. He's a version of Jake who seems to have little personality of his own; a living, breathing monument to old school gentlemanly machismo who has made such a name for himself that he's become nothing more than a pile of eclectic tastes he's picked up along the way and the sum total of what everyone expects an eccentric old adventurer to be. He has a million feats to his name and yet there's nothing there. A hollow shell of opulence. An ideal for which people can only ever hope to achieve.

And it just hit me how much Jake wants to be the version of himself that everyone wants him to be. He wants to be the rugged adventurer and the Cassanova and the genius and the star not necessarily because it's purely his own ambition, but because that's the kind of person everyone Hopes he is. He wants so desperately the sand down his own edges and tamp down his base self so that he can be the shape they want, because by God he loves them all so fucking dearly but oh God he's not Near good enough. He's not good enough yet. He needs to be better. If he can be who they want maybe he'll have finally earned even a bit of the love he's already received.

And so in another time Jake English makes his money selling bathtub gin and finding his way to momster island before the war. Maybe in another universe he uses his fabulous wealth to throw parties every week in the hopes that the few people he desperately wants to see show up among the hundreds of others, just to shower them and shout from the rooftops that he's finally done it- he's become everything they ever wanted. He's finally ready to give them the world!

the power falin has, for good and for worse. For holding similar traits that Laois does, she's loved instead of hated. People band together for Falin. People are repulsed by Laois. Except Falin of course. Do you think if laois had been the one eaten in the dungeon, that the gang would have united to save him? Falin would have tried, we know she would. Falin was saved because the two people who loved her more than the entire world risked everything to save her. Did Laois have that much?

When the going got tough, would the others have stuck around? Thought it worth it?

rich boyfriend keeps trying to give poor boyfriend money in some form or another and keeps getting refused because stubborn and pride and we are equals etc like yall never actually been poor or what

as someone whose pride would literally wither down to nothing but was and has been surrounded by actually poor people: they'd all take the money. They'd all take the gifts. I'd let them pay for my meal. I'd take the free car drive. i would however feel a very misplaced sense of guilt/gratefulness/resentment/discomfort (a mixture of all this and like. I would probably not feel like they're MY person yk. because we're so different) and this would lead to a very fucked up dynamic but believe me if someone was offering me money for free (even just seemingly) while im struggling a ton , I'd Fucking take it 😭

before anyone comes at me, this is from my personal experience and maybe yeah you'd starve before accepting help but i do seriously feel that if youve ever been very cold or very hungry or very filthy... yeah. nothing really matters at that point i guess
