Hi Again!
Here's another story for you! Part of the Polinators Unhinged RomCompalooza Challenge, which you can find here:
Read all of them! They are fun and sexy, just like Colin and Pen! 💛+💙=💚
My story is a play on Notting Hill, that great 90's film with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts at their romcom best.
Will a "girl, be standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her"? Of course! But read it anyway to find out how they get there 💕 Pen & Colin take a slightly different path, but it isn't any less fun watching them get their HEA.
Here's the link for "From Mayfair to Notting Hill" by me, ALoveLessMelancholy.
Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day 💞

✼. THRU SPACE 'N TIME | PROFILE.
Tumblr media
Born in Gold Coast, Australia on December 23, 1999, Michaela Sommers was introduced to the world of motorsports from a early age. Her father, Tobias, and his younger brother, Travis Sommers, were avid Formula racing fans who idolized the likes of Senna, Schumacher, and Lauda. The motorsports bug skipped over Sommers' older sister, Samantha, before biting her at the mere age of six. By her ninth birthday, Michaela was competing in karting championships along the Australian east coast.
Despite her natural aptitude for racing, Michaela recalls facing discrimination for both her race and gender quite early on while karting. Despite the negativity that would swirl around her reputation, the young driver would win her first national championship at the age of twelve with plenty of rumors circling concerning her future in the sport. Sommers would attempt to enter her first international competition, but was barred from entry after her father lost his job in the summer of 2012.
Without much hope, Michaela would step back from racing for nearly six months before eventually deciding to join her uncle who had moved to England after his marriage just years prior. Travis then became Michaela's manager, working endlessly to ensure his niece would be able to continue climbing the karting ladder. Shortly after her move to England, her uncle would connect with Australian F1 driver Mark Webber who would travel to watch her race in a regional competition in 2013. Stunned by her potential, Webber helped the young girl to catch the attention of a racing team competing in the Ginetta Junior Championship alongside future McLaren teammate Lando Norris. Sommers' transition to racing cars would prove successful, securing a junior championship at just 14 years old.
Sommers would continue working through the ranks, receiving extensive media attention and comparisons to Lewis Hamilton as a teenager. Spending one year at the Formula 3 level, Michaela would race for British team Jagonya Ayam in 2015 finishing fifth in the championship and second in the rookie cup, both below Charles Leclerc. Her performance would catch the attention of Italian team Prema Racing who signed her to development for higher formulae alongside Pierre Gasly for the 2016 season.
Despite an average result, ending her rookie season in sixth place, Prema would resign the Australian who would be simultaneously be selected to join the Ferrari driver development program for the 2017 season. That same year, Sommers would wrap up her Formula 2 season in second place, once again behind Charles Leclerc.
Eventually, Michaela would finally secure a Formula 2 championship in 2018 while signing on as a reserve driver for Ferrari. Her official Formula One debut came after Sommers signed on to be Alfa Romeo's second-seat driver for the 2019 season, securing one-point in her debut race before finishing her rookie season in eighth place.

Thunder (only happens when it’s rainin’)
summary: In the middle of the night, during a bad thunderstorm, Javier helps you through a fear-induced panic attack.
rating: T (Javier POV, age gap (about ten years), Husband Javier Peña, panic attack (physical descriptions only), emotional hurt/comfort, Javier calming you down, thunderstorm, banter, domestic fluff, suggestive mention of Javier’s dick, Javier offering to help you fall back asleep by either reading you The Fellowship of the Ring or a smutty book)
pairing: Javier Peña/f!reader (a nurse with no physical descriptions)
word count: 1.2k+
a/n: This can be read as a standalone or part of the Learning to Live ‘verse—in LTL, it takes place a few months after their wedding. This one goes out to the anon who asked how Javi would help Cielito through a panic attack. He’d use this method or a variation of it any time she has a panic/anxiety attack. This is unbeta’d; all mistakes are my own.
Thank you for reading! Comments and reblogs feed me. I’d love to know what you thought!

Laredo, Texas - April, 1999
The window-shaking boom of thunder isn’t what has Javier jolting awake in bed and bolting upright to turn on his bedside lamp. It’s the blood-curdling scream beside him that’s like a shot of adrenaline with how it wakes him from the dead of sleep with his heart pounding and has him blearily looking around the dimly lit room for any sign of danger.
Their bedroom door is still closed, and there are no intruders; rain can be heard battering against their windows, and when he focuses on his wife next to him, she’s also sitting up, worry cutting through him at how her breaths are coming out too fast and shallow as she hyperventilates, and tears stain her cheeks—she’s having a panic attack, triggered by the storm. Where she grew up, it rains the majority of the year, but they don’t have many thunderstorms, unlike right now when it’s Spring in Texas and severe weather season—it’s not the storms that scare her; it’s the loud noise that gets her.
He’s scooting closer to her, pressing his big palm to her shirt-covered back, rubbing little circles, his voice husky and soft as he says, “We’re okay, Cielito—you’re okay.” Javier reaches with his other hand to take her smaller one into his, putting it on his bare chest over his heart where he knows she can feel it thudding. “Focus on me, baby—look at me.” Her head turns his way, and he’s met with panicked eyes and glistening cheeks. “Feel my heartbeat. You feel how it’s beating?” She’s still breathing too fast. “Focus on the beat—you feel it?” he asks again, and she looks at their hands. “Thud, thud, thud…” he repeats at the same rhythm of his heart.
The therapist he’s been seeing for a while now taught him some techniques for when he has his occasional panic attacks, and right now, he’s trying to help ground her.
“See,” he says. “I’m right here, baby—you’re okay. I promise we’re gonna get through this. What are five things you can see?”
“You,” she answers between heavy breaths.
“There’s one.”
“Hand...” Her eyes move down. “Blanket…” Her head turns toward their bedroom door. “Door… Dresser...”
“That’s it, Cielito.” He’s still rubbing her back reassuringly. “Tell me four things you can hear.”
“You…” she says. “Fan…” Their small fan on his dresser by the door they use for white noise at night. “Rain…” Thunder rumbles in the distance, and her body tenses, a small whimper leaving her, and Javier’s hand on her back moves to hug her against him. She whispers, “Thunder…”
“It’s moving away, baby,” he tells her. “Sounds like it just passed by. You’re doing so good for me—name three things you can touch.” She’s beginning to calm down, her breathing is slowing.
“You…” There’s movement under the sheets of her wiggling her feet. “Blankets… Me.”
“Good.” He kisses the side of her head. “What are two things you can smell?”
“You… Candle…” They had a vanilla-scented candle burning before they went to bed.
Her breaths even out, and he knows she’s focused on him based on her answers.
“There we go.” The following crack of thunder is so quiet that it’s barely heard over the rain outside and the whirring of their fan. “I think the worst of it is over—tell me one thing you can taste.”
He’s sitting close enough to her that the sides of their bodies are touching. He’s got one arm around her back, keeping her against him, and his other hand still holding hers over his heart.
Her face turns his way, and she lightly bites his shoulder, speaking with her mouth open, “You.”
Yeah, she’s calmed. He smiles.
“Do I taste good, mi amor (my love)?”
She’s still biting him. “Yes.”
“Are you feeling better?”
“Yes.”
“Is there anything I can do to help you fall back asleep?”
Her mouth finally leaves him, and she meets his gaze, her eyes rounded. “Can I lay on your chest while you read to me?”
Something she enjoys and relaxes her.
He leans in to kiss her tenderly and asks against her lips, “Fellowship of the Ring—” What he’s currently re-reading for probably the thirtieth time. “—or whatever that book is you were reading last night that got you so hot and bothered you begged for my dick?”
She broke away to look at him once more, and he let go of her hand to use his thumb to wipe away the remnants of the tears from her cheek.
“As great as it’d be to have you narrate my smut,” she replies, “it’s gotta be Lord of the Rings ‘cause I am so fucking tired, like so tired, and queasy—I think I’m getting whatever that bug is that’s going around the hospital—" She’s a nurse at the local hospital. “—and I really don’t appreciate the stupid thunderstorm interrupting my beauty sleep.”
Her answer makes him frown, and he presses the back of his fingers to her forehead.
“You don’t feel warm…” he says. That doesn’t mean she isn’t coming down with something. “I’ll stop by the store on my way home tomorrow and pick up stuff to make you caldo.” The soup his mom always made when he or his dad were sick.
“That’d be nice, but,” she emphasizes, “food has been pretty hit or miss over the last week, so if it makes me puke, I swear on my ABBA Souper Trouper record—” Her favorite and most prized that she’s had since its release in 1980. “—it has nothing to do with your mother’s recipe and is just whatever the fuck this sickness is.”
“I know, baby,” he replies and kisses her forehead. “Let me fix the pillows, and I’ll read to you.”
When he starts to move, her hand quickly grabs his arm to stop him, and he turns his attention back to her.
“Javi?”
“Yes, mi amor?”
“Thank you for calming me down.” Her eyes dart away. “Texas summers are literally hell, but for all of the years I lived in Dallas before coming here, I hated Spring the most because of the storms—what I’m saying is this isn’t the first time thunder has woken me up in the middle of the night and caused me to freak out.” The thought of her alone and scared makes his chest ache, wishing with every fiber of his being that he could’ve been there with her. “It’s happened before,” she continues, “and I always had to ride it out on my own. So, thank you for being here and helping me. Don’t get me wrong, it majorly sucked, but it was nice not having to go through it alone.”
He caresses her cheek to make her look at him, and he smiles. “I can promise you, you’ll never have to go through it alone again. I’ll always be here to help you, just like how you’re always there when my brain’s being an asshole because I love you, Cielito.”
She matches his look. “I love you, too, Javi.” She quickly pecked him on the lips. “Three months, and you continue to reign supreme as Husband of the Year.”
“And am I living up to my other title?”
Her eyebrows furrowed. “Which one? ‘Cause Sexiest Man Alive, yes, you’ve got ‘99 in the bag. God of Sex, also yes, and I remain your devoted devotee. And you’re definitely living up to being the Hunkiest Hunk to Ever Hunk; no one will ever be able to out-hunk you, babe.”
“Good.”

SpongeBob is an Adult
I'm so sick and tired of people trying to say that SpongeBob is a child or that he was 13 when he was hired at the Krusty Krab. I swear does anyone actually watch the show? Look no further than Season 3, Episode 3: The Bully.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mrs. Puff would NOT be his teacher if he was a child. He is a grown ass man who can't pass the driver's test. That's not THAT uncommon.
The argument I often see online is his (fictional) driver's license stating his date of birth as 7/14/1986. There are two problems with this. One: This is a dream sequence. (A rebuttal to this is that his license was shown again in season 2, but cartoons reuse assets all the time) Two: We don't know when the show actually takes place. Many shows don't take place in the same year as real life. Example: The Jetsons.
Season 1, episode 12: Employee of the Month. 43 months have passed, at least, with the 44th month being this episode. Three and a half years have passed AT MINIMUM since he was hired. This is still in season 1, mind you. March 8, 2000 was when the episode aired. 10 months, 1 week after the Episode 1 airdate of May 1, 1999. These episodes do not go along with real time.
Tumblr media
When people say he's a kid, they are not being literal. Figurative language has been around forever. They mean he has the heart and energy of a child while living his adult life. When Mr. Krabs calls him a kid, he is being dismissive and derisive. Krabs is an old man, to him, SpongeBob IS a kid, because he's so much older than him.
Squidward calls him a kid because he's just an asshole sometimes. It's like when someone dismisses someone else along the lines of "Shut up, you're like 12" even if the person is in their 30s.
Another problem I have with people insisting SpongeBob is a child is that he's very autistic-coded if not flat out autistic. To say he is a child is infantilizing autistic people who act the same way. My partner is this way, she is nearing 50 but she acts like a 10 year old. To say she's not an adult would be insulting at best and ableism at worst.
Need more proof? Season 1, episode 12: The Chaperone. SpongeBob mentions that he couldn't find a date to his junior prom. That means he finished his junior year of high school. At the very minimum, SpongeBob could be 17, but Pearl is 16 in that episode so that is VERY unlikely.
If I need to add more to this post, I will, but chances are the ones who need to read it never will.

⁺ . 𓆩 ✞ 𓆪 . ⁺ 🪦 ⠀⠀ RULE OF ROSE are a five-piece fictional band that debuted in 2019 under POSER RECORDS. before becoming an official band, rule of rose was originally known as girlfight ⏤ a side project on soundcloud made by trainees onjo, jae, and aries in an attempt to pass the time until they debuted. being in a band, while fun and kept their passion for music alive, was never the endgame plan for them; onjo && aries desperately wanted to be soloists while jae hoped to make it in a girl group. as time went on, and their chances of making it on stage became more and more slim, the fear of never making her dream come true pushed onjo into pursuing the idea of girlfight being an official act. joon, their ceo, caught wind of her attempts and figured that signing an all-girl band wasn't a bad idea after all. there was only one thing holding him back from being completely satisfied with them, and that was his lack of faith that they'd get the proper attention.
going behind the girls' back, joon recruited former candygirl member harley kim in an effort to bring some star power to the table. despite the unwanted addition, girlfight was renamed and soon releasing their debut ep red solo cup season with their title track "a party anthem" on august 2nd, 2019. while their ep didn't break the roof, it still exceeded everyone's expectations, encouraging the girls that they can do better and be better with more time.
while it was onjo's songs that established their sound, it was harley's presence that brought in more and more fans; not only were her performances usually what got a crowd going, but her nonsensical, explicit b-sides were typically the more favored tracks on their albums. this resulted in harley being given the lead on their next upcoming album, upsetting those who preferred onjo's direction as well making people question if she was even good enough to create a title track. in a twist of events, trauma and tiaras was far from what people expected of harley ⏤ the title "where's my teenage dream?" becoming a commercial success and dominating the charts for weeks to come. not only did this cement rule of rose as the idol girl band of all time, it also proved that harley was just as serious about the band as everyone else.
the band continued on an upstream of breakouts and global achievements while the creative control over them often swapped between onjo and harley, and occasionally with jae, too. their fanbase only grew stronger and larger with 2024 being their best year after hex project's phoebe joined them. rule of rose remains one of the top three highest-selling idol bands to date, and they're only just getting started.

Batman: The Animated Series & The DCAU - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Batman Beyond
Debuting on January 10th, 1999, Batman Beyond was a bold and surprising continuation of Batman’s journey.  Its three seasons act as a concluding bookend to the story first started in Batman: The Animated Series.
Chronologically, the tale begins some forty years after the final installments of The New Batman Adventuress and Justice League Unlimited.  The world has been greatly changed by advanced innovation, much likely derived from alien technology. Neo-Gotham is a cold megalopolis with staggering high rises, flying vehicles and all manner of futuristic invention. Greed, corruption and stark class stratification still grips the city, and the Batman, Gotham’s former protector, has not been seen in decades.
The show introduces Terry McGinnis, a troubled teen in search of answers after his father has been murdered.  Happenstance brings Terry into the life of an aged and reclusive Bruce Wayne.  Retired and estranged from his former friends and allies, Bruce has secluded himself in confines of Wayne Manner.  Yet Terry discovers Bruce’s secret, that he had once been the legendary Dark Knight.  Begrudgingly at first, Bruce ultimately agrees to train Terry in becoming the next Batman.  Terry is eventually able to bring his father’s killer to justice and the streets of Gotham are once more patrolled by a Batman.
The show was met with much skepticism when it first premiered.  It was a significant departure and many (this author included) were reluctant to accept someone else in the role of Batman.  And yet its sleek production, dark themes, super cool character designs and top notch writing came to win over a fiercely loyal audience of fans (this author included).
Kevin Conroy returned to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, with Will Friedle voicing Terry McGinnis.  Cree Summer, Lauren Tom, Sherman Howard, Paul Winfield and Stockard Channing provided the voices for additional characters.

60 years ago today, June 27, 1964, the final episode of The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show (known as Rocky & His Friends during the first two seasons and as The Bullwinkle Show for the last three seasons) aired.
It originally aired from November 19, 1959, to June 27, 1964, on the ABC and NBC television networks. Produced by Jay Ward Productions, the series is structured as a variety show, with the main feature being the serialized adventures of the two title characters, the anthropomorphic moose Bullwinkle and flying squirrel Rocky. The main adversaries in most of their adventures are the Russian-like spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale. Supporting segments include Dudley Do-Right (a parody of old-time melodrama), Peabody's Improbable History (a dog and his pet boy Sherman traveling through time), and Fractured Fairy Tales (classic fairy tales retold in comic fashion), among others.
Rocky & Bullwinkle is known for quality writing and wry humor. Mixing puns, cultural and topical satire, and self-referential humor, it appealed to adults as well as children. It was also one of the first cartoons whose animation was outsourced; storyboards were shipped to Gamma Productions, a Mexican studio also employed by Total Television. The art has a choppy, unpolished look and the animation is extremely limited even by television animation standards at the time. Yet the series has long been held in high esteem by those who have seen it; some critics described the series as a well-written radio program with pictures.
The show was shuffled around several times (airing in afternoon, prime time, and Saturday morning time slots), but was influential to other animated series from The Simpsons to Rocko's Modern Life. Segments from the series were later recycled in the Hoppity Hooper show.
There have been numerous feature film adaptations of the series' various segments, such as the 2000 film The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle which blended live-action and computer animation and the 1999 live-action film Dudley Do-Right, which both received poor reviews and were financially unsuccessful. By contrast, an animated feature film adaptation of the "Peabody's Improbable History" segment, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, was released to good reviews in 2014.
Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show were ranked the sixth Greatest TV Cartoon of All Time by TV Guide.

Prologue
North Dakota
1999
John Winchester slowly drove down the snow-covered drive leading to an old warehouse and parked the ‘67 Impala in the back of its busy lot. All three Winchesters silently climbed out and trudged through the accumulated snow to the front entrance. If anyone had given him the choice between being here or hell, John would have picked hell.
Tumblr media
Eighty years earlier
A virulent disease accidentally escaped a research lab, and the following pestilence wiped out 70% of the Omega population worldwide. At the same time, Alphas and Betas were predominantly immune and rarely died from it unless they had a chronic illness.
As in ancient times, the remaining Omegas were fought over, resulting in countries declaring martial law and rounded up the remaining Domestic Omegas. Several years later, a treatment was developed but the damage was nearly irrevocable. Betas had begun to reproduce to the point the other sub-genders would be extinct within a few decades.
At a hastily convened conference, the world's leading scientists offered the governing bodies with a short-term, yet controversial, solution: obtain Omegas from the remaining Wild Packs for a breeding program.
They presented evidence that introducing their genetics, relatively unchanged since splitting from their wolf ancestors, into mainstream populations would create a natural immunity against future resurgence and rebalance the sub-genders. Many argued the idea was insane. Those Omegas, or O’s, were too feral, still living as their wolf ancestors did and incapable of being domesticated.
The scientists then demonstrated an implant they developed containing multiple benefits. It would dampen O’s natural aggression and induce presentation from sixteen to thirteen. Domesticated Omegas had been bred down to present their early twenties and produced one pup at a time. The implant would also shorten the time between breeding seasons and increase litter size by controlled ovulation hyperstimulation.
The world leaders drew up a preliminary framework for each country that signed the accord to follow. Over the next thirty years, they would procure Wild Pack O’s for distribution from government-managed facilities, with an addendum upon review it’d be extend in certain regions if deemed necessary. In the Americas, it was called the Hibbing Procurement Act.
Over those years, the populus discovered other uses for the O’s descendants, who developed into their distinct designation called House O’s. Unscrupulous individuals elected lawmakers who supported extension after extension, even installing loopholes, such as permitting Wild Pack Alphas to accept payments under the table from those on the fringes for O’s the government deemed unsuitable for breeding, creating an underground network of sellers called The Dealers.
And who would complain if some O’s slated for legitimate sales accidentally slipped through and sold for exorbitant prices on the underground market?
Tumblr media
John knocked on the steel door in a predetermined code. As it slowly rolled open, he glanced at his almost grown pups, thankful they’d taken a dose of rut suppressants earlier because the air was thick with ready-to-breed O scent.
Walking into the building, the younger Winchesters automatically fall back on their training, checking their surroundings for potential danger. John observes to his left buyers on cell phones circling like vultures eight steel cages displaying O’s clad in elaborate silver collars, high-end specimens selling for exorbitant prices.
The rest of the warehouse is an open space with multiple rows of O’s kneeling side by side, leashed to low railings anchored in the concrete floor. They wear color-coded leather collars denoting their monetary value.
“John Winchester, this is a surprise! To whom do I owe the honor of your presence?” The nasal voice of Everett Helms, a black-haired Beta, oozes the fake, cheerful demeanor of a used car salesman approached the trio. Hunters only dealt with Helms because he was reputed to be able to acquire anything they needed..for a price. John had hoped to avoid him, but after eight days of unsuccessful procurement at other facilities, The Dealer was his last option.
Helms held out his hand, and John felt bile rising, not wanting to touch him when a poorly timed footfall caught his attention. “These must be your pups. My, my my, delicious, aren’t they!” Helms remarks as his eyes rove over Dean and then settle on the youngest Winchester calculatingly when a loud, menacing growl fills the air.
Dean's eyes began glowing red, daring the ogling Dealer to make a move on his ever-growing little brother. He felt Sam huddle closer to his back and release his calming pheromone as, judging from their father’s posturing, John was about to tear into Sam for attracting attention after specifically instructing him to stay invisible. Sam quickly averted his gaze down through his shaggy bangs, glaring at his oversized, sneaker-clad feet, again wishing he wasn’t so fucking clumsy with this growth spurt.
Helms turned back to John, acting as if nothing had occurred. “I hear your oldest got himself in a peck of trouble, and he needs an O to stay out of prison. Well, John, may I call you John? You’ve come to the right place. As you can see,” he waved a hand over his domain, “I can supply any type of O an Alpha could wish for.”

BATMAN BEYOND/TERRY McGINNIS; a reading list
Tumblr media
So, you're interested in the Batman of the future! A series which takes place in the far off year of... 2039? Listen, the original show came out in the nineties, you gotta give it some slack.
Hopefully here I've compiled a nice list of the comics, as well as any extra appearances of Terry, Batman of Neo-Gotham.
Who is Terry McGinnis?
Terry McGinnis is our seventeen year old protagonist. He meets Bruce Wayne after the old man helps him in beating back a gang who take after the late Joker, and in helping Bruce into his manor discovers that he was formerly Batman. After his father's murder, Terry steals the hi-tech batsuit in order to hunt down the people responsible for his death. In doing so he sees Gotham for how corrupt it really is, and becomes the Tomorrow Knight and Batman of the future.
Where to start?
The best place to start is with the 1999 animated series of the same name. It takes place firmly in the DCAU, alongside Batman: The Animated Series and The Adventure continues, Superman TAS, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
The show goes over three seasons, with cameos in a spin off called The Zeta Files (which only ran for a season) Static Shock (ep, Future Shock) and Justice League Unlimited (The Once and Future Thing; part 2, Epilogue) and a movie, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.
While the cameos are more optional, you don't really need to watch them, though Epilogue is treated as the 'end' of both JLU and Batman Beyond. ROTJ also has two different versions, a censored and uncensored one.
You can watch it on WatchCartoonsOnline, though I'd be a little careful with using that site. If you also have MAX, it should be available for streaming on there.
Comics wise, I apologize for not putting individual issues. I've also included links to readcomicsonline for each comic.
DCAU Tie-In Comics
These tie in directly with the show, and as far as I know, were released at the same time.
Batman Beyond I
Batman Beyond II
Superman Adventures #64
Unlimited and 2.0
The unlimited and 2.0 comics take place post show, and are in the same universe as the DCAU so I personally consider it canon to the series.
Batman Beyond: Hush Beyond (2010)
Batman Beyond: Industrial Revolution (2011)
Batman Beyond: 10,000 Clowns (2012)
Batman Beyond Unlimited
Batman Beyond 2.0
Justice League Beyond
Justice League Beyond 2.0
(and optional, the Superman Beyond comics. I think Terry only has some cameos, but it's always fun to hang out in the world a little bit with different characters)
Superman Beyond 2011
Superman Beyond 2012
N52 Futures End and Rebirth
Futures end is... personally, I'm not a fan. While Terry isn't Batman for the entirety of 2015, 2015 takes place in the aftermath of futures end, while Rebirth is the aftermath of 2015, only a few months later.
N52 Futures End #1-17 #18-30 #31-48
Batman Beyond (2015)
Batman Beyond Rebirth
Neo-Year
A reboot of BB, Urban Legends #7 and Neo-Year set off as Terry's own personal sort of 'year one' as Batman, one without Bruce. I'm personally highly enjoying it so far, and I feel like it does treat his character very well. Neo-Gothic is currently on-going.
Urban Legends #7
Batman Beyond: Neo-Year
Batman Beyond: Neo Gothic
Optional Individuals and Cameos
Batman #700
Superman/Batman 2010 Annual #4
Milestones 30th Anniversary A story with Static and Terry
Batman 2016 #135
Countdown #21 (Just a brief cameo)
Justice League vs The Legion of Superheroes #3
Batman: Beyond the White Knight
This is as comprehensive of a list as I can get, including almost every appearance of Terry's that I can think of. I hope that this helps anyone who is interested about Terry, he's personally one of my favorite characters and I think he's really fun and compelling.

͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏͏ ͏ ͏ ͏𝆹 🌐. ˚ . . ࣪. CICADA was a seven-member boy group under ANGELICO ENTERTAINMENT. They were well known for their dark, apocalyptic, and mysterious concepts. The group was very popular domestically, always charting high within Korea. While garnering minor success internationally, they were wildly more successful within Asia.
CICADA was first introduced to public through a series of puzzles via the Angelico website in 2019. The website had appeared to be “hacked” with crypitc messages and instructions on it that varied randomly alongside ciadad imagery. After solving the randomized puzzle, it would redirect you to page with a profile of a “cicada” none of their names being revealed and most of their information being blacked out besides their birthday, position, and how they plan to defeat the “infestation”. While these puzzles confused the public at first, it was very interiguing and left the public curious.
Three months after this “hacking” occurred, an apocalyptic drama titled “CICADA” appeared on Netflix, starring a main cast of eight boys. The plot revolves around a group of survivors during an apocalypse caused by an infection of mutated cicadas. The series was praised for its unique plot line, horror elements, and surprisingly good performances performed by the soon-to-be idols. The group also recorded the soundtrack for the show. After the first season was aired, CICADA debuted in 2020 under the same name with the members ISSEI, MIDNIGHT, CHANSOL, ASH, DAEUL, JIHO, and HYO.
Despite their domestic success and the millions of dollars poured into them, Son Roan disbanded the group in 2023, not even a month after being appointed CEO. Their disbandment was shocking and sudden, resulting in protest trucks being sent to the company with Son Roan would pose mockingly in front of, showing no empathy or mercy for his decision to disband the once successful boy group.

TW // Mentions of Death, Murder, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault under the cut.
After Cicada's disbandment, Tanaka Issei returned to Japan with much love. He left music behind and became a highly sought-after actor, ignoring his idol past. He even seemingly had "Cicada" blocked from his Instagram comment section. The past is the past to Issei. He wants to let it die.
Jiho would leave the group before the official disbandment, sensing the ship was already sinking. He never liked being an idol, especially in Cicada. He's openly discussed how he disliked most of the members, calling them "entitled assholes" and saying how he is in contact with none of them. He is now the drummer of the band Bones N' All. He seems happier now.
Lee Hyojin was last seen on October 7th, 2023. He was the most popular member with a promising solo career ahead of him. No one is sure where he went or what he's up to, but there is no active investigation into his disappearance despite his fans' protests for the police to at least perform a wellness check on the idol. Their cries fall on deaf ears.
Park Daeul would leave the idol industry and become a creative director and producer. His fans insist he's been blacklisted due to his short-lived solo career being blocked from broadcasting by Angelico Entertainment for "copyright issues" that no one could find the logic behind. Daeul succumbed to his fate behind the scenes quite easily, primarily known for working with the up-and-coming group Brat Pack and being Amanda Summer's protege.
Na "Sol" Chansol would become a successful soloist, actor, and producer. Sol is very well known around the entertainment industry and is the only member who speaks neutrally about Cicada. He never said he hated it, but he never said he loved it. He just says he was there, and he's grateful for the musical growth. Sol is signed under Pursue Entertainment and is their highest performing artist though the bar wasn't high.
Ash Kim would become an actor and influencer, but he expressed interest in being an idol again and would need to be in a group. Ash talks pretty negatively about his time in Cicada, often saying he was picked on and outright bullied by the other members, but refuses to drop names. It doesn't matter now, though, that Ash is a wildly successful actor, specifically in the BL genre, which has garnered him a strong and dedicated fanbase.
Finally, Sammy "Midnight" Son would re-debut as a soloist under Angelico just a few months after this sudden disbandment. He's pretty sheltered, not allowed to speak about the group or how he feels about the disbandment. There's always a manager with Sammy, watching what he does and says, carefully protecting his image. No one knows Sammy's true thought but his eyes are sad.
So, what is the real story of Cicada? Most of the characters are evil, particularly Lee Hyojin, Park Daeul, and Tanaka Issei.
Lee Hyojin would begin dating Chloe Lee of the massive girl group, Venus. To put it bluntly, he was abusive. He often berated Chloe, talked down on her, pushed her around, and sexually assaulted her multiple times throughout their relationship. Chloe had never been in a relationship at that point; she thought it was normal until the night in the field.
Under the assumption they would be having sex in Hyojin's car in the field behind the Angelico dorm, a common hang-out place for Angelico artists, Chloe would go without much of a debate. She didn't know the actual plan Hyojin had crafted.
That night, Hyojin would make Chloe have sex with three other men that night, three men she didn't want to have sex with. The only two she knew were Daeul and Issei, but the other one still remains nameless. All of this was done for the men's enjoyment, Hyojin believing it would give Chloe "Stockholm syndrome" and keep her with him forever––Yeah, incredibly ass backwards but there's no logic in a mind like Hyojin's.
In a final act of cruelty, the men would leave Chloe in the field after the attack, leaving her to walk back to her dorm alone and in the dark. On her walk back, she bumped into Son Jinhwa, who immediately took her to the hospital due to her condition. Though she had a rape kit done and a police report, she would not name her assailants either to Jinhwa or to the police.
Still, it didn't take a rocket scenitist to figure out who was resposible.
Hyojin had never been right. He had an extensive record of harassing girls at his school and beating the shit out of any guy who disagreed with him. His mother died giving birth to him, and his father hated him because of it. You could say, from the start, he was born rotten. He was raised by his grandmother, who became bedridden when he was eleven, leaving him to take care of her. His life was tragic, but none of that mattered. An abuser is an abuser with a tragic backstory or not.
After Son Roan disbanded Cicada and effectively blacklisted Hyojin, Daeul, and Issei from working in the Korean entertainment industry ever again, Hyojin would storm to the Venus dorm at 2 in the morning in a rage. He would then not only beat the daylights out of Yoonah and Klara, but he would attempt to murder Chloe for "ruining his life" by choking her. This would result in him being struck upside the head with a frying pan by Sena Kim, effectively killing him.
Later, his body would be burned by Chloe Lee, Son Jinhwa, and Son Roan.
To read about the extent of Hyojin's crimes and further lore on Angelico's cover-ups, you can click anywhere to be redirected to a discontinued piece explaining all of it. While the lore surrounding Jinhwa has been completely altered, the scene where Hyojin and Daeul (pretend Issei is there as well lol) is unaltered.

Meet the OCs: Renata (she/her) - @lightleapfan
Renata is a homunculus baby without a rank, and is the Main Character of Corpse Girl, (Trample The Moorland Part 2) a four-season television series that ran on NBC from 1999-2008. Just kidding. She lives in my head. From "Windclan". she's her own mother incarnate and has a fake blood disease i made up. nobody even knows where she came from. she likes girls. she constantly dreams of snow despite having never seen it. she got decapitated and survived. She is constantly on the verge of ego death. she is seven months old.
Saltburn (she/her) - @nanistar
Saltburn is a laid back, relaxed senior warrior who lives in SaguaroClan, one of the three friendly Clans of the sunny Mojave desert. She is a bit odd, having a bald patch on her nose, and extra sensitive eyes that keep her from going out a lot during the day, but she remains cheerful. She loves her MarshClan mate Hollowspur and her best friend, the SaguaroClan healer Silversky. Little does she know, she is actually a lost child of Bonestar, the leader of MoonClan; a long forgotten Clan that was banished to the nearby abandoned copper mine over 100 years ago….

since i was looking at codywan ao3 stats over the years, i thought it'd be interesting to compare with the three other biggest pt-era ships. at the time of posting (2023/08/01), the largest pt-era ship on ao3 is anakin/padme, followed by anakin/obi-wan, then cody/obi-wan, then obi-wan/qui-gon
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Graph of total works on AO3 by ship. Quiobi is shown as a blue line, Obikin as red, Anidala as yellow, and Codywan as green. The horizontal axis shows the years from 1997 to 2023, and the vertical axis shows the number of total works from 0 to 9000. /End ID]
quiobi starts increasing moderately but steadily from 1999 to about 4000 works in 2023. there are under 100 anidala and obikin works dated 1999-2009, then both ships start to increase slowly, then faster from 2015-2019, and even faster from 2019-2023 (anidala faster than obikin). anidala overtakes quiobi at about 2500 works in 2019 to reach nearly 9000 in 2023. obikin overtakes quiobi at about 2750 works in 2020 to reach about 8000 in 2023. there are no codywan works until 2009, then it increases slowly from 2015-2019 and grows rapidly from 2019-2023. codywan overtakes quiobi at 3500 works in 2022 to hit nearly 6000 works in 2023
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Graph of works posted per year by ship. Quiobi is shown as a blue line, Obikin as red, Anidala as yellow, and Codywan as green. The horizontal axis shows the years from 1997 to 2023, and the vertical axis shows the number of works posted from 0 to 2500. /End ID]
these two graphs confirm my feeling based on my experiences* in sw fandom that quiobi is an old, steadily growing ship. the phantom menace in 1999 sparked the ship, and there has been a moderate but steady 50-100 works per year since then til 2014, when it starts to grow. after 2016 and 2020, there are some moderate step-ups in the number of works posted per year (200-300 and 300-500, respectively), but not the huge spikes of the other ships
anidala and obikin share pretty similar growth patterns, with the number of works per year being pretty low until 2016, when it jumps to 500-600 (overtaking the number of quiobi works posted per year), then jumps again in 2020 to over 1000 and has been growing ever since. i already discussed codywan in my previous post, but in brief, there is a low growth from 2015-2019 of about 100 works per year, before it spikes in 2020 and catches up with the number of anidala and obikin works posted yearly
*when i got into star wars fandom, quiobi was the pt-era largest ship. i never felt that it was losing popularity, just that other ships were growing faster
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Graph of year over year growth by ship. Quiobi is shown as a blue line, Obikin as red, Anidala as yellow, and Codywan as green. The horizontal axis shows the years from 2000 to 2023, and the vertical axis shows the percent growth from -100 to 1100. /End ID]
what's interesting here that all of the ships had spike in growth in 2016, most likely from the force awakens being released in december 2015 and sparking new interest in star wars, and 2020, possibly from folks quarantining at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and spending more time writing. season 7 of the clone wars being released in 2020 could have also been a factor. it would be interesting to see if other fandoms also had a spike in new works in 2020. anidala had a spike in 2005, when revenge of the sith was released. there are no obikin works dated 2004 on ao3, which is why there is a gap in the graph from 2004-2006 (percents don't play nicely with zeroes). not shown on this graph is the jump from 1 quiobi work dated 1998 to 104 works dated 1999, because that is a 10,000% increase that completely destroys the vertical range
notes:
largest ships were determined from the relationship tags in the "Star Wars - All Media Types" tag on ao3
works from each ship tag on ao3 were filtered by date. no other filters were used. some works may have been tagged with multiple ships (e.g., codywan and anidala) and/or with a 3-way ship (e.g., obianidala)
each year shows the number of works at the end of that year (i.e., 2022/12/31, 2021/12/31, etc)
data for works posted by year and for % growth for 2023 was extrapolated from the number of fics posted in 2023 so far. at the time of making these graphs (2023/08/01), there have been 191 quiobi, 1391 obikin, 2205 anidala, and 1179 codywan works posted in 2023
technically, the graphs show the number of works updated, not posted, as i could not find any option to filter works on ao3 by date posted
since quiobi, obikin, and anidala are all significantly older than ao3 itself, these graphs are of limited scope pre-2009. pre-2009 data is affected by which works were imported from older archives and/or backdated by their creators moving to ao3
deleted works were not accounted for

NASCAR Numerology: How NASCAR's Current Teams Got Their Numbers: Part Four.
Welcome everybody to the mission creep blog! We've done Trackhouse, Penske, Wood Brothers, RCR, SHR, Hendrick, RFK, and Spire, which means we've cleared the first ten numbers!
Today we're going to talk about:
Joe Gibbs Racing, who runs the #11, the #19, the #20, and the #54 this year.
Kaulig Racing, who runs the #13, the #16, and the #31.
Rick Ware Racing, who run the #15 and the #51,
and 23XI Racing, who run the #23, the #45, and sometimes the #50.
So, starting with Joe Gibbs Racing...and their story starts with none of their current numbers! Rather, it starts with the #18 in 1992.
Why the #18? Once again, it was a story of lowest available number, as 1-12 were taken, the #13 was being used by a part time time along with various superstitions around it, and #14, #15, #16, and #17 were taken as well. Thus, JGR debuted in 1992 with Dale Jarrett in the Interstate Batteries Chevrolet. This partnership won the Daytona 500 in 1993 and won at the fall Charlotte race in 1994, but for 1995, Dale Jarrett would leave. He moved to Yates Racing to take over the #28, subbing for the injured Ernie Irvan, and when Irvan returned to the #28 in 1996, Jarrett moved to a second Yates car, the #88.
Thus, JGR had to make their own story with Bobby Labonte, who impressed immediately by winning the 1995 Coke 600 and sweeping Charlotte.
1997 would bring only one win, at Atlanta, so for 1997, JGR switched to Pontiac. This era of JGR, with Bobby Labonte running the Interstate Batteries #18 Pontiac, is when the team really broke into the top of NASCAR.
Bobby would finish second to Dale Jarrett in 1999, but in 2000, Bobby Labonte would win the championship for JGR.
This was also the time that JGR became a two car team for the first time, but more on that in a moment.
For now, Labonte continued in JGR through the end of the 2005 season, with his last three years in a Chevrolet as GM began phasing out the Pontiac brand in NASCAR. Upon his retirement, he was replaced by JGR development driver JJ Yeley, but Yeley would only last two winless seasons.
He would be shuffled off to Hall of Fame Racing for 2008.
This is when JGR experienced its biggest change in history when, feeling like they were second or even third fiddle at Chevrolet, they switched to Toyota for the 2008 season. Toyota looked downright bad in 2007, but with a year of experience and JGR making the switch, there was hope.
Another reason to hope was that Kyle Busch, the hotheaded but fast kid from Hendrick Motorsports, made the switch, with JGR signing M&Ms as a sponsor over from Yates.
Thus, one of the most recognizable partnerships in modern NASCAR began, with Kyle Busch, Toyota, and M&Ms - they won the 2015 and 2019 championships together, took countless wins, and along with Kevin Harvick of SHR and Martin Truex Jr., Kyle formed part of the "Big Three" drivers that dominated the late Gen 6 era of NASCAR, particularly 2017-2019.
However, during the 2022 season, Mars Inc., parent company of M&Ms, announced that they were ending their NASCAR sponsorship. Kyle Busch was forced to move to the #8 car at RCR, while Joe Gibbs announced that his grandson, Ty Gibbs, would move up to the NASCAR Cup Series.
Rather than the #18, he would continue in his Xfinity number, driving the #54.
Ironically enough, the #54 originates with Kyle Busch, as Kyle Busch Motorsports has long run the #51 (a tribute to Days of Thunder antagonist Rowdy Burns, who Kyle has nicknamed himself after) and the #4 in trucks. When KBM moved up to the second-tier Nationwide series in 2012 neither number was available, so they ran the #54 instead.
Kyle and Kurt Busch split the season, with Kurt taking its only win at Richmond.
For 2013, KBM's Nationwide team was sold to Joe Gibbs Racing, where, in 2022, Ty Gibbs ran the #54 to the Xfinity series championship (for those who don't know, Busch, Nationwide, and Xfinity are all the second-tier NASCAR series, it just doesn't have a proper name so it has always been known by its title sponsor, which has changed a few times).
So, the #18 became the #54.
Meanwhile, Joe Gibbs' second number was the #20, introduced in 1999. Why the #20? Because the #19 was taken by a part-time team at the time, so the #20 was the next available number after #18. This number was initially ran by Tony Stewart with immediate success, winning the championship in 2002 with Pontiac and 2005 with Chevrolet. The Home Depot #20 was one of the iconic cars of NASCAR's boom era, and Tony Stewart was its superstar driver. In 2008, however, JGR switched to Toyota, while Tony was an all-American GM guy to his core.
The awkward partnership only lasted for one year before Tony left JGR to start his own team with Gene Haas, forming SHR.
Joey Logano replaced Tony in the #20, showing flashes of brilliance, but with only two wins in four seasons, Logano was replaced with Matt Kenseth for 2013. Logano would move to Penske, with much more success there than he had at JGR.
Matt Kenseth, meanwhile, saw the #20 switch from Home Depot sponsorship to running a Dollar General primary. Nevertheless, Kenseth showed immediate success, taking seven wins and falling just nineteen points off championship leader Jimmie Johnson.
Two years later in 2015, Kenseth was on for another championship contending season before being spun out from the lead at Kansas by none other than Joey Logano. Getting caught up in a wreck at the next race at Talladega saw Matt Kenseth get eliminated in the round of 12, while Logano won his third race in a row at Talladega to sweep the round of 12.
In retribution, at Martinsville two weeks later - the first race of the round of eight - Matt Kenseth wrecked Joey Logano as the crowd cheered. Kenseth was suspended for two races, but getting wrecked at Martinsville, a tyre problem at Texas, and failing to win Phoenix meant that Joey Logano didn't advance either.
A historic feud between drivers of the #20.
Kenseth would leave JGR after 2017, handing the #20 over to Erik Jones for three seasons, before it ended up in the hands of current driver Christopher Bell in 2021.
Bell has made the championship four in both 2022 and 2023, but finished fourth in the standings both years.
JGR's third car was the #11, co-owned by JD Gibbs and running the #11, which was the number JD used in college football at William & Mary. The #11 debuted in 2004, running various drivers such as JJ Yeley, Jason Leffler, Ricky Craven, and even Terry Labonte before settling on Denny Hamlin at the end of 2005. Hamlin went full time for 2006.
The team, with primary sponsorship from FedEx, has run ever since.
Denny Hamlin and the #11 team have won three Daytona 500s, fifty-four races, and have basically done everything in NASCAR besides winning a championship. Truly the Chicago Cubs of the stock car racing world.
Last on the list for JGR is the #19, which Joe Gibbs was finally able to secure in 2015. They had already poached Matt Kenseth from Roush for the #20, so Gibbs decided to do it again and nabbed Carl Edwards for the #19, a partnership that lasted two years before Carl abruptly retired at the end of the 2016 season for reasons NASCAR fans still speculate about to this day.
In the words of Carl Edwards himself...he had taken too many knocks to the head over the years and with him then starting a young family with a neurosurgeon wife, he decided to retire.
Daniel Suárez replaced Edwards for 2017 and 2018, before the other leading Toyota team in the form of Furniture Row Racing collapsed, giving JGR the chance to pick up 2017 champion Martin Truex Jr. for the 2019 season. Truex brought sponsors Bass Pro Shops and Auto Owners Insurance over with him.
2024, however, will be Truex's last season. Chase Briscoe will take over the #19 for 2025.
One team down.
Kaulig Racing has two full time cars, the #16 and the #31, as well as a part-time #13. The #31 is driven by Daniel Hemric, the #16 by AJ Allmendinger, Shane van Gisbergen, Josh Williams, Derek Kraus, and Ty Dillon, and the #13 has been used by Allmendinger in races where both he and SVG were running, such as COTA and Chicago.
Kaulig took #16 since it was available in 2021 (their usual Xfinity numbers, #10 and #11, were both taken), the #31 was chosen for their chartered entry for 2022 since RCR had vacated it after 2019, and the #13 because one: it was vacated, and two: it's the inverse of the #13. Yeah, not much story there, Kaulig is a new team and their numbers don't have much historic meaning behind them.
I mean, Roush ran the #16 for a long time, most successfully with Greg Biffle, but there's no link between that and Kaulig.
Kaulig does have two wins - Indianapolis Road Course 2021 and Charlotte Roval 2023 - with AJ Allmendinger, which is the most success the #16 has had since Biffle, for whatever that's worth.
Now onto Rick Ware Racing.
Rick Ware Racing has built up their history as a start-and-park team running the #51, and initially their numbering scheme was built on that, running numbers such as #52, #53, and the #54 as well. This is also the number that Rick Ware uses on its co-entries in other series, such as its alliance with Dale Coyne Racing in Indycar - where the #51 is currently run by a slew of drivers, of which Katherine Legge is expected to finish out the season - and IMSA LMP3 racing, where Rick Ware runs his son Cody.
Cody Ware was arrested in 2023 for assaulting and strangling his then girlfriend, so that's the first and only time I will mention him on this blog.
Anyway, more recently Rick Ware Racing has started professionalizing its NASCAR efforts, with Justin Haley showing promise in the #51 car that he runs in alliance with RFK Racing. Their other car, the #15, is still somewhat of a revolving door of drivers, but it does appear to be improving.
So, that's the #11, the #13, the #15, and the #16. Roush has the #17, the #18 is currently vacant, JGR has the #19 and the #20, Wood Brothers has the #21, Penske the #22...that means 23XI is next.
23Xi Racing, a joint venture by Michael Jordan (the 23 part) and Denny Hamlin (the 11 part, or XI in Roman numerals) is another new NASCAR team, having entered NASCAR in 2021 in alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing.
The history of their numbers is quite simple, the #23 is Jordan's jersey number, and the #45 is the number he wore when he returned to the Chicago Bulls in 1995 after a brief sabbatical during which time he played for the White Sox's minor league affiliates.
Bubba Wallace has run the #23 since it was established in 2021, while Kurt Busch was the initial driver of the #45 before a career-ending crash at Pocono. Ty Gibbs was drafted in to replace Kurt, before 23Xi briefly switched Bubba into the #45 to compete for the owner points playoffs. Daniel Hemric and John Hunter Nemechek also had starts in 23XI cars in 2022.
For 2023 though, Tyler Reddick has been brought in to drive the #45, winning twice in 2023, and another two times so far in 2024.
Bubba, meanwhile, won Talladega 2021 in his #23, and Kansas 2022 while filling in in the #45.
23XI's third car was initially the #67 - get it, like 2,3,4,5,6,7? - but this year, in a promotion with sponsor Mobil 1, it has run as the #50 to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Travis Pastrana, Kamui Kobayashi, and Corey Heim have all started in the #67/#50, while Juan Pablo Montoya is scheduled to run the #50 at the 2024 NASCAR Cup race at Watkins Glen.
So yeah, we started with a college football number in the #11, and we finish on a team named after basketball numbers with 23XI.
I believe tomorrow will be the end of this series, as Front Row Motorsports with the #34 and #38, Legacy Motor Club with the #42 and the #43, and JTG Daugherty with the #47 are the only remaining full-time teams.
Higher numbers are a bit sparse in NASCAR these days, huh?
