I occasionally think about that trend that existed for a while (still exists? Idk I dont use other social medias) that was like "Standing in front of art I could make". On tumblr it was mostly people being upset about it.

Like, obviously that's kind of a shitty and thoughtless thing to do, but my first thought about it is always "How could I subvert this meme to make it not shitty?"

Probably these have all been done, since subversion of trends is fun, but these are my ideas for how you could do that meme without being an ass:

1. Film yourself entering the art museum, then immediately cut to you leaving. Bonus points if you come out talking about your favorite piece of art there.

2. If you're an artist, standing in front of the piece(s) that you yourself created.

3. Standing in front of your friend's piece of art (while giving that context that you actually know the artist) (Assuming you have a relationship with that friend where making that joke is acceptable)

4. filming yourself walking around talking about the art, but not claiming you could do any of it. Can combine with 2 and/or 3. If 2, optionally go "Nah I could never do that" to one of your own pieces.

5. Holding a terrible drawing you made of a famous masterwork while standing next to it.

6. Getting a bunch of artists with art on display and asking them "could you do that?" About their own art.

7. Stand in front of a blank wall. Big bonus points if you paint walls for your job.

Hardly an exhaustive list, but I think it's a fun thought experiment to figure out how to make bad trends less bad.

Tiktok ruined the amv economy. Like back in the day edits/amvs/pmvs/gmvs/whatever you want to call them were like. the length of the whole song and had structure and sometimes were basically fan trailers of whatever property they were about or told a story of their own and it was epic. Now most edits are like fifteen seconds of the climax of a song without the buildup of the rest of the song to properly contextualize it played over one or two shots of the same guy just standing there with a sparkly filter over it.

They're also adding (Not) a Devil but it's not covered so I'm not worried about that

i mean no matter who he romances he’s gonna betray them for gortash in the end, so it kinda doesn’t matter who it is. he has this weird version of “universally shippable” because of that. it’s very fun to imagine, not just what the relationship would be like, but specifically the betrayal. the hurt.

falling in love with someone, realising they’re fucked in the head, meeting the guy who did the fucking, watching them leave you to go back to that shithead like the life-changing last month or so didn’t even happen, and then watching them die in his arms with a smile on his face.

like yeah they stop the elder brain but that shit would have you fucked UP for a good long while afterwards

i find it weird the way people have been making fun of transmascs who don’t want to be totally masc when they transition (i.e. a lot of body hair, balding, getting bulkier) like it’s completely normal for someone - especially someone who is nonbinary transmasc to want a certain androgynous look still? but to still pass as reasonably amab/not afab and not be clocked

like its not just “you’re just mad that being a trans man doesn’t make you an uwu anime boy” like no 😭 im uncomfortable being hyperfemme/clocked as female as much as i dislike being Too Masc, i want androgyny

like tf would you say that to amab twinks who get laser hair removal and even taken doses of estrogen to be more gnc/feminine “ur mad that being a man isnt being an anime twink boohoo” stfu
