One thing I will never understand is that scene in time police where The Warden is in some kind of jail cell. Why didn’t he use his shapeshifter powers to escape and oneshot the time police.

Hello there with a Danny Phantom question about Clockwork and a time police ( the trope).

All Clockwork's existing role is to make sure that the timeline is okay ( not unstable or not having many paradoxes). While there is some time travel from Danny (your choice if AGIT happened), Clockwork notices nothing else........ and that confuses him as there are many timelines that any person (with crazy science, or a superpower) could potentially just time travel but it didn't. After some time (from his perspective) he decided to check why and after he noticed that whenever anyone was about to time travel, a group of people appeared and made sure that it didn't happen.

the question is How does Clockwork feel about the time police are keeping the timeline safe from paradoxes.

Note before you answer

like Clockwork didn't know about the time police, the time police didn't know about clockwork, even though they have an idea that there is a source of time, they didn't want to see it as they have a memory-wiping tool to erase the memory of the future.

this is a good kind of time police (the kind with no corruption but having small numbers).

It's certainly an interesting concept, but it wouldn't really work for my personal hcs unfortunately.

Like, I can definitely see the time police not being aware of Clockwork, but due to the way I frame his Origins & backstory, I don't see it as possible for Clockwork to not known or see them unless they existed outside of time.

Still an interesting idea, just one that wouldn't fit with my person hc.

On the other hand, I could see Clockwork keeping a slightly closer eye on them than most. Much like how I assume he keeps a closer eye on anyone who time travels. And I could even see him subtly helping them every now & then.

At the same time, I also hc that the Speed Force from DC is very intricately tied to the Time Stream due to the nature of motion as a concept & that the Time Wraiths sort of work for him. Somewhat acting as Time Beat Cops/Time's Immune System, if you will.

I can also see him interfering with their work if someone specific time traveling actually has to happen due to something else important needing to happen later that wouldn't unless that person did time travel.

You know, bootstrap paradoxes & other such concepts?

I just last night got finished watching Unicorn Warriors Eternal, and their talk about "this wasn't supposed to happen this way" and "something's wrong with time" and Merlin just casually bringing a robot back in time from the far future all makes me wish that the time police from Rick and Morty would show up and just start beating the shit out of Merlin and going "This is why... (unf) you don't MESS (huh)... with TIME motherFUCKER" and leave Merlin in a pathetic groaning pile

I've always liked the old Jughead's Time Police series from the late 80s/early 90s with Rex W Lindsey's incomparable art. Seeing them turn up as reruns in Archie's Digests was always a treat. A few years ago, I realized Archie Comics had put out an anthology of them, so now I'm happy to have them all bundled together.

Anyway, here's January McAndrews, Archie Andrews' time traveling descendant from the future, sometimes girlfriend and commanding officer of Jughead Jones and enemy of Morgan le Fay.
