𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗜 𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳..... 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥. You’d think I’d have worked it out by now, but I guess this is one lesson I seem to need reminding of more than others. You see, one of my strengths, and something I pride myself on is my sense of 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The drive to keep going until a job is done. I push myself to make sure I’m not letting others down and above all, to make sure I’m reaching the goals I set for myself. But, this strength can also be my 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨.... Determination and drive can sometimes see me pushing myself a little too far! 🤷🏻‍♀️ 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲? Trying to be everything to eveyone. To be at this thing and that thing. From my job to a meeting to webcall and 𝗻𝗲𝗸𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁 its 10pm and you haven’t stopped to take a breath! And then, all of a sudden, your body says 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗣! Surrender can be as simple as a feeling that reminds you to take a breath, all the way up to full blown body shut down. I had another of these wake up calls yesterday.... Silly me, pushing myself to be everywhere and do everything. And my body pulled on the brakes BIG TIME. Travelling in the car on the weekend and being overtired when I got home, I’d put my neck out and it wasn’t happy!! I spent the day yesterday paying for pushing myself too far and had to surrender to the consequences. My reminder in surrender meant I missed out..... I missed a phone call appointment for a scholarship I was interested in for a course I want to do. I missed a celebration & farewell dinner with the fire station boys and their families. 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀. So, now I have to take a long hard look at myself AGAIN and really see where I’m at. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙜𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙬? Beacuse above all, I need to put myself and my health first. It’s hard to listen to your body sometimes. I’m trying to really give myself some quiet time this week, because I was really feeling drained. I pushed myself so hard last week. I didn’t give my last YouTube videos the attention and respect that they deserved, so they feel more like rough sketches then finished works. The video I’m currently working on now, I’m really trying to take my time, and really listen. I find that listening to what I create, allowing for a conversation, is so important. Well Fall is here, and the trees in front of my house know it too. Love seeing them change colors and start to transition into the hibernation stage. Mother Nature is so beautiful with how she can show us the beauty in the things we think are bad or uncomfortable, and how we can come out on the other side of things refreshed, renewed, and full of new found joy and life! It’s the season for slowing down, going internally, and reassessing our lives and life choices up until now. In a lot of ways, quarantine has forced us all into a hard reset that I feel like is needed in ways. It has given us all time to slow down and focus on what we truly need going forward. That doesn’t mean it’s a clear path forward, nor will it be easy but hopefully it is a brighter path forward. One where we can come together more as a community or society and realize what things benefit or are necessary for us as a whole. For me, it’s been hard coming to terms with the fact that my long distance hikes aren’t going to happen this year. Yes, I agree we should be friends. And you know what’s kinda, I mean, extremely depressing? I’m seriously the only person I know that likes men with beards.

And ugh I know what you mean. It is the most frustrating thing to be with someone that says, "Oh, that guy's pretty hot. Except for, you know, his beard."

Like excuse me I would take just the beard without the attached dude okay.
