Aislynn and the Long Rambly Rambles about Video Games and Finishing My Halo WIPs and Potential Future Halo Fic Ideas and I Dunno Maybe I Should Finish My Last Two Flash WIPs 'Cause That Would Be Super Rad, Too, Right?™️
Tumblr media
Finished! I had a lot of fun with Portal! I did finally manage to compensate for the weird "look to the side and look all the way up or down" problem I was having, thankfully. The puzzle aspect was awesome!
Now, since I'm here for a good time, not to be an amazing gamer, I'mma be straight with you: I looked up the answer whenever I got stuck. I tried all of the puzzles "cold" first and kept trying even when I had no idea what to do. Then, when I reached that first hint of ~~frustration~~, I just looked up the answer. Most of the time, I still had to work to get through it, so it wasn't a gimme. But I don't even care if it does. Like I said, I'm here for a good time, full stop. After really thinking I was never going to get to play any other games in my Steam library because of all of Georgette's serious computer issues, I'm just super happy to be playing again!
I may play the second Portal next, might just go for something else entirely.
I still want to finish Scott/Peebee and Scott/Jaal in Mass Effect: Andromeda but while I can't make any further GIFs, I'm not in a big hurry to do that next. I can still capture the footage, though, so might just have to do that and then hope Georgette will let me install Vegas. 🤞😣🤞
I also have Half-Life and Half-Life 2 and I believe they're connected to Portal in some way? Also have heard they're good games, so they're definitely on my to-play list.
Also there is, in no particular order:
Mass Effect Legendary Edition (got to finally experience the OT, after all!)
Dragon Age: Inquisition (I'm thinking this might slightly scratch my itch to play Baldur's Gate 3, since I'm waiting on that to go on sale)
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (been looking forward to this one for a long time!)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (another one I've been looking forward to for a while)
Tomb Raider (2013) (DEFINITELY been looking forward to this for ages and ages!)
Titanfall2 (have heard a lot of good things about this one; have also heard it's not too terribly long, which I'm looking for right now, I've got things like ME to play if I want something really long and involved but I'm honestly also looking for a few things that are less of a large time commitment to intersperse with the epic-sized games 😉)
Dead Rising 1, 2 and Off the Record (There are a few things about them I hope won't make me feel stressed out, I don't always do good with things that have time limits, but mannnn, I really want to try out all of the funny weapons and such that you can craft! So the plan is to not worry about "winning" just get in there and have fun!)
I've also got the Resident Evil Village demo but am kinda bummed that it's on a 30 minute time limit. So, like, if it takes me forever to get the hang of the controls, I might not get to see 5 minutes of gameplay. That'll suck. 😠It seems like it would've been better for the demo just to be a level or part of a level and if it takes you an hour to play it, what does it matter? You're still just playing that one little chunk they set aside for you to test out. Oh well, I'll give it a try out of these days.
The Resident Evil 4 remake demo isn't time-locked and you can replay it as much as you want, so I'm thinking about giving that a try. I dunno. I've watched a LOT of playthroughs in this franchise and I'd like to try them myself but I also know I can get skeeved out by body horror and sometimes survival horror in general just stresses me out. So, don't plan on picking up the full game of either of these until I get a chance to try out their demos at least. And I want them to be on a great sale in case I try the full game and then find myself going
Tumblr media
Anyway, if you play games, what are you into these days?
Halo MCC will always be my comfort place, needless to say! Does anybody here do the weekly challenges? I love doing them! Just need 100 more points and I can buy everything on the final level/season/whatever they call it. I love getting new nameplates, lol!
Anyway, I did also do some writing today towards Camp NaNo and made my ridiculously low daily word par. I'm hoping to actually get all of the rest of "Recreation" and "15 Minutes" done in first draft form this month. That would be rad to just have to do final editing and get them posted in May! I'm going to miss them when they're done but I want to make sure that I get their story told, you know?
If I should achieve that goal, then I have a fluffy Vannak x Reader one-shot I'd like to finish. Then I realized if I do that, I'll have given everybody in Silver Team a Reader character except Riz. Can't have that, now can I? Riz is also MAH BB!

An very brief explanation of the Titanfall subreddit right now:
An Ultrakill fan roleplaying Viper declares war on horny posts, sending many local celebrities to 'jail.' More roleplayers show up, it escalates, and now there's a four-sided war on people who looked at a two story mech, and decided they want to fuck it. Titanfall 2's campaign has been recontextualized in the last day, so now the IMC was trying to blow up a planet for Viper's Anti-Horny Alliance.
Edit 12/17/23: There were also two news factions, and a faction dedicated to wiping us all out. The horny guys have decided to stop due to it getting boring, which sucks. I'll link the timeline post the dude who started this all when I can.
Edit 19/12/23-2: timeline, stolen from Reddit user CackJooper, goes as follows: lt began with someone called Edith the Lesbian making sexual comments about Northstar. This resorted in Viper putting them in horny jail, several people including myself proceeded to guard this jail, this would go on to become the Anti-Horny Association (A.H.A).
Viper kept imprisoning people guilty of horny crimes until Pink Scorch Prime (one of the local celebrities I mentioned) was imprisoned. This then United a lot of the hornies into forming a centralised group known as the Pro Horny Coalition (P.H.C) it was at this stage that the A.H.A became the official name of Viper's group as well. These two groups then began the Horny War.
This then sparked the creation of several smaller factions, including the Titanfall Free Press (TFP) who acted as a journalist group reporting on the war, the PM which simply wanted to build a garden as well as a Monarch group and The Three Protocols who both essentially wanted peace.
The first of these smaller groups to from was the R.E who wanted to end the civil war by means of destroying both sides using WMDs. So they captured the Ark (for my followers who don't know what a Titanfall is, that's a power source for a planet killer that fucks with the space-time continuum) in attempt to destroy the subreddit, the A.H.A and the P.H.C made a temporary alliance in order to assault and destroy the Ark weapon. Presumably, a second Ark was then recovered but was intercepted by Viper. The war continued with the other smaller groups vying for power and trying to achieve their own goals.
Then the P.H.C surrendered and was dissolved (the leader was bored) leading to A.H.A victory and the end of the horny war.

I had to cut some AIs/robots from here because... 10 options only but I want to give the poll some videogame variation (and also have characters that are better known so people are more likely to reblog).
Honorable mentions (off the top of my head): V2, Mirage and the other machines (Ultrakill), Ghost and Failsafe (Destiny 2) , Red (The Enigma Machine), Buddy (Buddy Simulator 1984), Grace and Blue (ROM: 2064), Million and Superduck (Norco), the characters from Primordia - especially Horatio, Crispin and MetroMind, RT-217NP (The Uncertain), Theta One One (Subsurface Circular), P03 (Inscryption).
Acronyms only poll

Crash Course on Lancer, the best TTRPG
I've been obsessed with Lancer lately, so I thought I'd put together a quick and dirty crash course on the key aspects of the system so people could see if it interests them.
Basics:
Lancer is a ttrpg system "centered on shared narratives, customizable mechs, and the pilots who crew them"
It is co-created by the author of the webcomic Kill Six Billion Demons, who also provides some of the official illustrations
The mech design is primarily inpired by Titanfall, but there is a wide variety and plenty of options available to suit your taste.
Mechanically, it's most similar to D&D 5e, but with major improvements (imho).
The game and community are super inclusive of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people.
Lore:
Lancer takes place in our universe, but several thousand years in the future
in the near future, human society collapses due to all the shit going on. ten generation ships are sent out to colonize space, but contact with them is soon lost as everything on Earth goes tits up and humanity enters a dark age for almost 5000 years
Eventually, humanity on Earth comes back, creates Union, and returns to space and tries to contact those generation ships, a few of which have founded new civilizations in deep space. Relations with these civilizations doesn't go great.
Union also finds a weird super-robot-mind-thing old humanity built on Mars, which lets them predict the future. After about a thousand years, it ends up producing a sort of super-AI called RA (I will get into this later).
The above event also lets Union develop FTL tech (using something called Blinkspace).
In the process of expansion, humanity runs into its first (and so far only) sentient alien race. Things go bad very quickly. The people in charge do very bad things and for this end up being overthrown. This is also when mechs first start getting used for combat.
A new committee in charge of Union takes over and has a strong anti-colonial, humanitarian ethic. This however is harder to reinforce the further you are from Earth (now called Cradle by some)
Some of the still independent civilizations and mega-corporations get in some fights. Union tries to keep the peace. This is where we are now.
AI
So there are two different types of AIs in Lancer.
The first kind are regular AIs which can act human but don't really have free will. They can be found all over the place.
The second kind are called NHPs (Non-Human Persons). These (mostly) came from that super-AI called RA I mentioned above. Their basic consciousness is "paracausal" (i.e. magic), so they have to be "shackled" to be able to even think like a regular human. They can often do really powerful things. They are hard to get and heavily regulated because they become really dangerous if they get unshackled.
Player Characters
Character creation in Lancer is incredibly fun. There's two main aspects of a character: the pilot and the mech
Pilots
The pilot is who you control during narrative scenes. While they can do combat, they generally are not suited for it, especially against mechs.
You can choose a background for your character, but this is purely flavor.
You get some "triggers", which are different skills you get bonuses in to use in narrative scenes. Default triggers include things like "lead or inspire", "read a situation", "apply fists to faces", "hack or fix" and many others. You can also create custom triggers (with your GM's permission). These are what you use for narrative scenes. You start with +2 to 4 different triggers and get another +2 at each level
You also get to choose things like armor, pilot weapons, and three pieces of equipment.
One expansion also adds a mechanic called "Bonds" which are like character archetype powers. These encourage you to roleplay more.
Mechs
You also have a certain number of "Talents" which help in mech combat. Each talent has 3 tiers and focus on things like using certain weapons or fighthing certain ways (e.g. grappling, spotting, hacking, etc.). You start with three tier-1 talents and get another tier each level.
Levels are referred to as "License Levels". You start at LL0, but this doesn't mean you can't do anything. You have access to the starter mech frame, which is a very good all-rounder. You may also have access to two more if you have certain expansions.
Mechs have two main sets of health: actual HP and "Heat". You get heat mostly by being hacked or using heat-generating weapons. Each player mech also has 4 points each of Structure and Stress, which correspond to these two sets of health. When your HP hits zero or your Heat goes above its max, you lose a point of Structure or Stress, respectively. You will also suffer other consequences like status effects or losing parts of your mech. If either hits zero, your mech gets destroyed (though this doesn't necessarily kill your pilot, and you can rebuild your mech). Also having 50% or more of your max heat means you're in the Danger Zone, which may let you do certain things.
Mechs will have a certain number of SP (system points), which you use to add different systems, equipment that gives you abilities and bonuses.
You also get to put points into 4 different "Mech Skills": Hull, which affects HP and physical stability, Agility, which affects speed and evasion (the thing enemies roll against to hit (most of the time)), Systems, which affects hacking ability and SP, and Engineering, which affects Heat management and ammo. You get another point each level.
There's other stats as well like Armor, Sensors, E-Defense, and Save Target, but I won't get into them now.
Mech's also have a certain number of weapon mounts, which determine what kind of weapons you can attach to it. The four weapon sizes are Auxiliary, Main, Heavy, and Superheavy. Most of the mount types match a specific weapon size. The only exception is Flex, which lets you mount one Main or two Aux. Also for a Superheavy, you need a heavy mount plus one other mount.
Player mechs come in 4 sizes: 1/2 (basically a suit of power armor), 1 (just big enough where a person could sit in the chest cockpit), 2 (much bigger than a person, about the size of heavier Titanfall mechs), and 3 (fucking huge, though maybe not quite as big as the mechs in Pacific Rim). NPCs can be even bigger. :)
This set of memes is a great way to get the idea behind several mechs.
While most mechs have a default appearance, they're highly customizable, and there are a couple of exceptions. Most Horus mechs have no default appearance, and the starting mech, the Everest, has no canon appearance, meaning it can look however you want.
EDIT: forgot to mention, every mech has a Core Power that you can use once per mission (usually). It typically gives you access to a really cool weapon or ability or otherwise powers up the mech for the rest of the scene.
Levels/Classes
Ever notice how in 5e, multiclassing kinda sucks unless you have a very specific thing in mind? That's not at all true in Lancer!
In addition to the stuff mentioned above, each LL you get to gain one level in the license for a certain mech! You can think of these as similar to classes.
Each level gets you two specific pieces of equipment from that license, generally either weapons or systems. Additionally, at the second level for a license, you get access to the mech frame.
Each license only has 3 levels to get, so you are very much encouraged to mix and match. Additionally, you gain levels at a more even rate than in 5e. Basically it's a milestone system I will explain later.
There are 4 manufacturers to choose from, each with a default of 7 licenses to choose from (more with expansions). ISP-N mechs are sturdy, reliable, and mundane. Smith-Shimano mechs are sleek, agile, and precise. Harrison Armory mechs are powerful and good at dealing with/using Heat. Horus mechs are extra weird and fucked-up.
Each session will generally consist of a few different "scenes", often including one combat scene. There may also be one "downtime" scene (usually at the beginning or end), which is sorta like a short rest. You can make limited repairs and change out equipment, as well as pursuing personal goals. A few sessions together constitute a "mission". After a mission, you get a level and can do a full repair, which is like a long rest. Get all your resources back and can completely rebuild a destroyed mech (or make a new one).
Action Economy
Each turn the player can take the following actions:
One Protocol (generally granted by a system, only at the beginning of the turn)
A standard movement, which can be taken in part or all at once.
Two Quick Actions or one Full Action
Quick Actions are things like Boost (take another full movement), Skirmish (attack with one weapon mount), Hack, Hide, Grapple, Ram, and Lock On.
Full actions are things like Stabilize (clear all heat or heal HP), Disengage, and Barrage (attack with two mounts or one Superheavy mount).
One Reaction, which can be taken on other characters turns when activated. The two default reactions are Overwatch (skirmish against an enemy that starts a movement in your threat range, which is 1 by default but more with some melee weapons or CQB weapons) and Brace (reduce damage from an incoming attack and be harder to hit, at the cost of losing actions on your next turn).
One Overcharge, where you take increasing amounts of heat to get another quick action.
There may also be certain systems or talents that grant certain Free Actions under certain circumstance
Combat
Combat in general is very fun, though a full round of turns may take half an hour or more. In my experience, most combat scenes are over within 8 rounds.
Using your systems and abilities in cooperation with your teammates is very important to surviving.
Of note is that getting advantage on a roll is much rarer than in 5e.
Much more common is Accuracy or Difficulty. Each point of Accuracy is an extra d6 you roll to add as the accuracy bonus. You pick the highest of your accuracy rolls to add as the bonus. Difficulty is the same except you are subtracting the number from the roll instead of adding it. For example, Lock-On lets you add an accuracy to a roll, but soft and hard cover add 1 and 2 difficulty respectively. Also points of accuracy and difficulty cancel each other out, which reduces the amount of rolling you have to do. So if your weapon has +1 accuracy but your target is behind hard cover, you roll the attack with 1 difficulty.
Resources:
you can get the core rulebook (minus npc info and detailed lore) for free here
here's the official fan-run discord server. it is very helpful for finding games that are looking for players and talking about the game.
You can use the official app called COMP/CON to build and manage characters. I fucking love making character in this. It makes things super easy and fun. You can also download .lcp files for various expansions to play around with the stuff they add as well. These are available for free for the official expansion, meaning players can play with extra stuff from expansions without needing to buy them.
In conclusion, Lancer is a great system that you should give a shot to if any of the above sounds appealing.

My Top 10 Favorite Games I Played In 2023
In chronological order. It's a long one.
Titanfall 2
Tumblr media
I've been told to play this for years now, though for most of those I did not really know why, as it never seemed like my kind of game. But, ever since I started really getting into mecha sometime in 2022, I decided to finally give it a try. I'm very glad I did. Titanfall 2 is a criminally short First Person Shooter with a very fun mech/pilot dynamic, really good mechanics of movement and combat for both, and some of my favorite level design of any game I've played in a long while. The platforming is crazy good! The mechanics are tight as hell! The mech is awesome! I recommend Titanfall 2 for literally anyone reading this.
Mega Man Zero
Tumblr media
The Zero series is the one that most called to me in the Mega Man franchise every time I looked these games over, and I was right in that judgement. While I couldn't say if I was going to appreciate most of the GBA era action platformer difficulty or not, it was clear from Zero's more agile movement and bite-sized missions with very memorization-heavy bosses that I would enjoy it. And I did enjoy it a lot! Most of the bosses kicked my ass but it was an absolute blast to finally learn their patterns enough to defeat them. The problem is, I went out of my way to not get any of the game's health upgrades or energy tanks, making the final boss so hard for me that after days and days of attempts I gave up. Not beating Mega Man Zero is probably my biggest regret of the year lmao
Fate/Stay Night
Tumblr media
Honestly, what do I even say? You can see my Saber icon, right? Fate is a franchise I never bothered to get close to, knowing of its name only through vague images and names of more popular characters (not even from FGO, just in general), and from later on getting to know that Fate/Grand Order was the game it is I felt like it wasn't for me at all and who cares. So when I learned what the original VN was actually about I felt stupid. How could something so fitting to my tastes have gone under my radar for so long...? Despite not being much of a reader in general, F/SN is a very long game that feels like it's just as short as you need it to be. The prose flows so well, every single character is lovable in many ways, and there's so much passion written into them and the situations they're in that it's one of the most smooth-flowing VNs I've read (which granted are not many) even though it's around the high 6 digit wordcounts. I love this game dearly.
Stranger of Paradise - Final Fantasy Origin
Tumblr media
I wanted to play this game since the first few trailers! How cruel was it that, not only did I not have a powerful enough machine at the time, but the game wasn't even on Steam until the year after release? Final Fantasy Origin is the game it presents itself to be. There's something about it that's so special to a certain kind of person (which I happen to be one of) and that falls flat for everyone else. The combat and its many Weapons, Jobs and Skills to use are just fantastic in how nice they feel, and I really do like the type of story Stranger tells. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm close to it. I like to describe Stranger of Paradise as everything good about PS2 and PS3 games in a modern title.
Pseudoregalia
Tumblr media
An old feeling from a new friend. Pseudoregalia is everything I like in 3D Platforming, and a little bit of what I don't. If you've ever looked at a single gif or video of Super Mario 64 and thought, "this looks pretty fun to play," you should be playing Pseudoregalia. If you like goat ladies with big butts, I can't say I understand if that would sell you on a game or not, but it is a feature everyone mentions. I wrote on this game already, so please do check that out and get it. It's one of the three titles of this list that came out this year, and I have not heard enough people talk about it.
Armored Core VI - Fires of Rubicon
Tumblr media
My favorite in this list, which is funny because I don't know what to say about it at all. Armored Core is a series I've been studying up on from the outside for a while, and the announcement for this title was my reason to finally dive in. Unfortunately, I did not get past playing the first mission of AC1 a few times and booting up AC3 once. But I will get to it eventually! Fires of Rubicon is one hell of an action game, that I adored for every single one of my (currently) 67 hours of play. Going through the campaign with builds a little too busted for the AI most of the time was my dishonorable focus of the experience, but there's a lot else to do for every kind of person. The amount of freedom you have for messing with your builds for either single or multiplayer is not to be underestimated. Though it could be better. Here's hoping there will be a game that is.
Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix
Tumblr media
I played this game as a kid so much that the main menu and its theme are scarred into my mind, yet this whole time I had no idea what the game was actually like due to the fact that most of my playtime was doing a few races and just cruising around. Once you dive into trying to finish the story, MC3 is a much different experience. One that frustrated me so much, I got actually ill from the stress. Please take breaks, gamers! Your health is more important than finishing an 18 year old game! Still, I did eventually do it. Midnight Club 3's handling model and gameplay structure are really impressive in comparison to the much more popular Need for Speed series, and I have to admit I did enjoy the game a lot. It's just a lot harder than it ever needed to be. I'll probably never forget this game, and that's not really a good or bad thing. Just, advice from me, if it gets too hard, maybe switch to sports bikes. Buy that Ducati.
Test Drive Unlimited
Tumblr media
Another car game, but this one I have the least to say about of any on this list. I had played TDU on PS2 multiple times before and thought it was awesome. The atmosphere and immersion of this game are unrivaled by any racing game to this day. But playing the PC version with a steering wheel and pedals made everything so much more incredible. I played the Platinum mod, which adds hundreds more cars and fixes a lot of issues with the original game (but not all of them; the game was still really rough and I hate how much the resolution is a pain to change). Overall, one of my favorite experiences with a steering wheel controller so far. Otherwise, a pretty good game if you like driving.
Super Mario Sunshine
Tumblr media
An old friend, and a new feeling. I don't play 3D platformers as much as I wish I did, because they're really not part of my main priorities looking for games lately, but every time I play a Mario game, it's like I found love again. It was not the first time I played Super Mario Sunshine, as I had collected a dozen or so Sprites years before, but playing the whole game in I think two weeks during the latter half of the year was such an incredible experience. Unless for some reason you play it on the Switch, Sunshine is a game that loves you as much as you love it. And you do love it, right? I know I do. I'd love to play this game many other times in the future. Granted, that applies to every game here, I just wanted to say it out loud for this one.
Lethal Company
Tumblr media
A fairly recent release! Having played it with many groups of people by now, both modded and vanilla, I think Lethal Company is probably one of my favorite multiplayer experiences ever. It is scary and hilarious, but also just really really good, to a level that surprised me for my quality standards of co-op (horror) games. Lethal Company turns friends into improvised horror movie actors and it's incredible. I'm almost at 30 hours played and will likely get to 40 at minimum. It's also pretty cheap and likely runs well on all sorts of machines, so consider checking this one out too.
Honorable Mentions
Witch on the Holy Night and Story of Seasons - Friends of Mineral Town are games I am adoring and could definitely go on this list, hadn't I started them both quite late into December. Maybe next year I'll give them a shoutout!

Also kind of apt that I was drawing Titans again while some peeps dug up old Titanfall art of mine! That's one thing I really love about tumblr tbh, I can be away for literal months and people still can dig up old art posts, pass them around, have fun with them, etc. I think this is super cool and something the more "viral" social media sites like Twitter or whatever totally lack - old stuff is just completely out of circulation! (Not to mention all the funny stuff people leave in the tags, bless)

oh toskarin of the mechas, i've heard you mention the game LANCER before; would you mind talking a little bit about its strong points/what you like about it?
i'm a TTRPG enjoyer as well as an enjoyer of mecha, particularly Titanfall, so I thought LANCER would be right up my alley. but i keep finding that a couple pages into the actual pilot creation, my eyes kinda start glazing over and the book just loses me for reasons that are hard to pin down. so i'm trying to figure out where my expectations are mismatched with what the game offers or whether i need to just Power Through It and Get To The Good Stuff or what, because i really want to like this game, but something's not clicking
LANCER is a game you should power through to playing once, if only because it has some of the best gamefeel for mecha combat without getting completely bogged down in being a combat sim
Karrakin Trade Baronies does a lot to flesh out the roleplay side of things (like, to the point where it almost entirely overhauls it), but even just going off the base game, it's one of those things that works best in motion
try using COMP/CON for character creation. it's a really useful tool, and imo it's also invaluable for play

"You were a hero to a lot of people for saving Harmony," Jack mentions.
"My actions on Typhon were not done with the aim of recognition of heroism or saving of planets. I was upholding Protocol 3."
"I know, BT. I guess everyone else just thought that a planet was more important."

U gotta choose any fictional woman to fuck
Top 4
Fuck, that's hard, okay. In no particular order, the ones that spring to mind first are;
Tali'Zorah (Mass effect.)
GLaDOS (Portal 1/2)
Sheoldred (Magic: The Gathering.) don't fucking judge me
Ash (Titanfall 2 / Apex Legends.)
Honorable mentions to Loba (also Apex Legends), EDI, and Liara (Mass Effect) and Elesh Norn (Magic the Gathering.)

ok so while proofreading this is both way longer and way shorter than I expected, sorry😭 - 2KY3
Hello! You are the second 4 character alphanumeric code named robot girl I’ve met on here! So I’d like to try and introduce myself. My name is 2KY3 (but most organics prefer to call me Skye, nice coincidence I guess?) and I am just a tad bit curious about you! So uhhh I’m gonna start a list of questions under this wall of text here
How exactly did you gain sentience? I’d assume you are some kind of ascended AI like me and most others but I felt I should ask
if so, where exactly do you run said AI? I run all of my computations in my own chassis, but some androids and robots have themselves hosted on a server somewhere so I thought I would ask this too
OH! That's a fun one. I was built with a basic sentience that slowly grew, I'm entirely housed in this body but I can be uploaded to backups in case of emergency.
I'm effectively a prototype for a program that's not around anymore, my body was built for organic pilots when they reach a skill level that their literal bodies held them back they were scanned and sent on suicide missions until their physical bodies expired then uploaded into a Shell similar to mine. I was the testbed after all, no human in here, though. Just wires and machinery.
Kinda similar to the tier 3 pilots from that game titanfall, actually. Chemical neurotransmitters can only move signals so fast. Not to mention organic muscle can only pull so hard before it snaps the bones it was attached to or tears itself to pieces.

Hey, I was wondering, did you see the news about one of the ex-devs for TTF2 saying that cancelling TTF3 developement and starting working on Apex Legends was Respawn's own decision and not EA's involvement? I personally always blamed EA, and still lowkey do, but it looks like the devs chose to move Titanfall universe in different direction, and they're doing great so far. I wasn't paying too much attention to AL's story, but after the news I brushed up on it and watched a few lore vids, and honestly? I can see that making TTF3 with Jack Cooper and BT-7274 would be pretty hard now, despite all the loose ends TTF2 ends with. Blisk got through a lot of development and all, it's gotta be a completely different story now than what they may have thought of back then. Also, Jack doesn't feel to be the type to join Apex for any reason imo.
Anyway, do you have any thoughts on the matter, about the news itself and/or possibility of TTF3?
I saw something a while ago about Titanfall 3 being in development for ten months before getting canned, but I don't remember any other details. It really sucks, because 2 was amazing and there's clearly a fanbase that would come running if we ever got a follow-up, but I guess that's not enough for the guys in charge.
And I actually don't know a single thing about Apex Legends 😂 I see people mention it every so often but I couldn't tell you what's going on with any of it. I looked up a wiki timeline and it looks like Titanfall 2 happened about twenty years before the events of AL? No reason something couldn't be set in those twenty years, instead of keeping the timeline wholly linear.
I also don't think a third game wuold have to involve Apex at all. I'm sure it would be a money thing on the devs' side, to tie a game into their current 'big name' instead of keeping it contained, but this is a setting that has interplanetary travel. There's gotta be plenty of other factions out there that could feature in a new storyline.
Overall I think it's unfortunately unlikely that we'll ever see Titanfall 3. Google indicates that the second game didn't sell like it was expected to, it's seven years old, and apparently Respawn itself canned whatever progress was made. Seems like a lot to overcome, but hell, if there's a Bioshock 4 in development, I can hold out hope for TTF3.
