Let’s talk Gar and his Mama (Kory) in Titans S3🤒💜✨~

Hi yall! So it is almost 2 am over on the east coast and sleep is practically non existent in the city, so to kill some time why don’t we shortly scan over one of the best & interestingly significant dynamics within the show! Gar and Kory.

We all know that Kory has remained pretty open to accepting the Titans collectively as her family, seeing that Dick was the first to initially assist in her quest of self discovery. She never refrained from placing the kids first - this we see a huge chunk of in season one. However, there is a drastic transition in her style of parenting, a change that was rather absent upon her introduction to the team.

When considering how over protective she was of Rachel and now with the addition of Conner, Gar and soon Tim, my good sis has simply evolved and it seems like she’s on the road of taking the kids right along with her!

For starters, who can forget the infamous speech presented early on in the season. Here a noticeably disheartened Kory spills her heart to her boys, she enforces the notion that Jason was killed as a result of his own poor decisions. And even through her pain she takes the time to caution them.

“Keep learning, keep growing.”

Now after rewatching a few episodes back from this current season, I’ve realized that while Rachel was away in Themiscyra, it had allowed much time for Gar and Kory to construct a some what close knit relationship. Not that it wasn’t bonded tightly before - he practically idolized the ground she walked on.

However, there is a new found connection between the mother and her son. Kory can easily read Gar’s fluctuating emotions as if their minds are somehow linked. Like when she ran from the back room to pull Gar into a hug after Hank is blown up.

Or when all it took was his silence to instantly alarm her, as she quickly began to reassure Gar that they will find Jason.

Most importantly on his end, he listens to her.

The feelings are evidently mutual as Gar seems to want to protect his mama at all costs. Even by risking his own life to help her discover her past.

This duo is simply unmatched! In the video below you will notice that Gar finds it incredibly difficult to remain angry at his mama because:

Who can stay mad at that face?!?!?

He does genuinely care about Kory, and in that moment he begins to understand that her actions were completely out of her control.

Watch for a heart warming laugh 😆

~Kory and Dick in Titans S3~ 👸🏾💔

I think it’s about time we finally sat and had a discussion about the queen herself - Kory Anders. Especially with how dirty the writers have decided to do her character. Our girl needs some advocacy! And I’m here to do just that.

Firstly, I don’t blame Kory for wrecking the pipes and leaking Crane’s gas to all of Gotham. You know who I do blame? Dick.

I also don’t blame Kory for taking matters into her own hands and striking a deal with the mob. You want to know who I do blame? Dick, for making her feel that - that was even necessary in the first place.

Since the Titans grand move from San Francisco to Gotham, Kory has set aside all of her own personal issues to deal with Dick’s. For example, his constant battle with the need to be “a better Batman” has caused more trouble for the group than they’d like to admit. That analysis will likely take YEARS to craft.

It is now 3 seasons in and all Dick has done is continuously disrespect Kory and her feelings by running back to his past flames for rekindling, only returning back when he’s hurt or giving demands. All this while Kory battles her own experiences with continuous flashbacks of her hometown Tamaran.

However, she is forced to tackle that dilemma alone, seeking solace in the kids because they are the only ones around to listen and assist when needed. Which is pretty ironic considering how she is always there for Dick every single time.

We also cannot forget how crazy Dick has been speaking to her lately, speaking out his neck as if he won’t get checked immediately 🙄 As displayed in the video below. Kory is better than me yall because I would’ve toasted his ass a long time ago.

And yet despite all this, she still loves him. And I genuinely believe that it is because of this fact that Dick has taken advantage of his wiggle room, simply reserving her feelings for later.

What Dick and the Titans need is a fresh start. Kory returning back to Tamaran to focus on herself is the very first step of that. Plus it’d be great for Dick to have a taste of his own medicine. I wouldn’t mind Kory entertaining a new love interest either, since the writers want to play games.

🌟~Let’s go back in time~🌟

(All that matters in Titans season 3 ep 6)

It’s a quiet night out here in the city, so to kill some time why don’t we quickly pick apart two particularly significant scenes from episode 6 of Titans!

Let’s first begin by highlighting Dick’s profuse usage of the word “we” and “our” upon his introduction with Kory’s sister Kom, also known as Blackfire.

It is safe to assume that Dick is extremely overprotective of his family, so his reaction to Blackfire is right up his alley. He is aware that she is the root cause of Kory’s pain, so meeting her in person may have somehow tickled his instincts and subconsciously forced him to step into the husband role to protect Kory from further heartbreak.

It is at this moment when Dick utilizes the introduction to point out Kory’s traumatic experiences at the hands of her sister. It also becomes vividly evident that Kory had at one point poured out her heart to Dick off screen, (thanks writers) - about the dynamics with her family in Tamaran.

I find it pretty endearing that he chooses to barely entertain Kom’s antics. He remains respectful because of his relationship with Kory, but his body language screams cold and stand offish.

Dick doesn’t play about his woman - okay? 💋

Moving on to this beautiful scene here, earlier Dick questions Kory about whether his son Gar is still angry at him about his selfishness that ultimately led to Dick being shot by a sniper. Kory then explains that Gar is simply worried for his dad, so much so, that his fear is expressed through his anger.

Now Dick being the most prideful man on the planet, ceases the opportunity when Gar assists him on his mission doing who knows what - to have him open up a little and share whats got him so riled.

The relationship between Gar and Dick in this moment is quite similar to that of a father doing his best to make amends with his rebellious teenage son. Now with his voice riddled in genuine parental compassion, Dick had hoped to poke by generating small talk. He asks, “are you okay?” In hopes to revive his son’s eager reciprocation in conversation however, upon his failed attempt, Gar chooses not to engage in his father’s unsolicited, sudden grasp at an emotional connection.

At the end of the day, all of the actions taken in episode 6 is a prime exemplification of Dick’s attachment to his family. That word is oftentimes used so loosely in many contexts, but let’s be real here, ain’t nobody doing it like the hottest couple in Titans - Kory and Dick. ☀️
