This might be the absolute most niche post I’ve ever made, its 10 PM and I’m not spellchecking, but I saw a post that inspired this-

Disclaimer, I haven’t read TLC in maybe three years so I could be off. I’ll try to give reasoning for my friendship pairs but a lot of them are just instinct.

But right out of the gate, Scarlet and Bree get along. Powerful and confident young women with strong maternal figures. Scar teaching Bree-Bree how to fly a ship? Bree showing Scarlet her Rootcraft?

In a similar vein, Wolf and Sel. They are absolutely best friends. In the way that… you know how guys are so close sometimes you can’t tell if it’s gay or not? That’s Wolf and Sel. I cannot explain why besides they are so similar and yet so different. They would vibe so hard.

Thorne and Sel. Specifically early-LB Sel. They’re so insufferable and full of themselves. And Sel would absolutely despise Thorne. I want that.

Jacin and Sel! Protecting the descendant of the king who you’re actually in love with is not a common experience. That would bring people together. And also Jacin in general is just a sweet person who’s been sort of repressed/boxed in by his situation, just like Sel.

I really want Cinder to match well with someone, but she feels like such a loner! I guess she and Bree would probably get along well, but I have zero justification for that.

Kai and Nick-idk. I just. The vibes.

Jacin and William-everyone gets along with William! Also, one wanted to be a doctor and one is currently pre-med, besides that it’s really just vibes.

Aaaand my brain has stopped working, time for me to stop writing!

TLC Headcanon regarding Bree’s nearest ancestors in Vera’s line:

(AKA a theory I’ve had kicking around for awhile but have been fleshing out lately as I continue to work on SWMF.)

We’ve heard from Patricia that there are rootcraft Prophets & since we know Ms. Tracy never just puts details in for no reason at all, I think we’ve “met” one already in the books— Bree’s grandmother Leanne Charles.

I’ll explain: Leanne’s mother Jessie was the one who moved around a lot. In bloodwalks Bree sees her encounter the Hunter in Lafayette, LA, New York, & then somehow her daughter ends up in Texas (I think it’s most probable that Jessie moved them there to try to outrun the Hunter, but there’s no textual evidence of this.)

We know that Leanne was a hairstylist, died of cancer when Faye was 18, & had a different last name than her daughter’s birth surname. So from these facts I have inferred:

1. Like Bree, her rootcraft power of foresight was tied to the bloodcraft because her life’s work within the line of Vera was to get her daughter to UNC. She didn’t need to ask the ancestors to gain knowledge about someone’s future; it just came to her, usually while she had her hands in someone’s hair at work. She basically lived with her body partially in the ancestral streams, which is likely why she is the “signpost” ancestor who Bree encounters first when she taps into her Mediumship in LB.

2. She didn’t tell Faye she was sick because she knew how important it was for her daughter to go to & stay at UNC. She also didn’t seek treatment for her cancer because she knew that Faye would need access to the red root to fight with at some point very soon, & she didn’t want to be the reason her own daughter couldn’t protect herself against the Shadowborn. 😭

3. Faye’s father either died when she was young or Leanne never married him. She married her husband (Mr. Charles) when Faye was ten or so. Faye liked him okay, but he was kind of absent even when they lived in the same house & he faded into the distance after her mom’s death. Her mom really was her only support system in Texas despite Leanne having lots of friends from church & the salon. Many of these people reach out to Faye and try to be there for her after her mom’s death but she doesn’t accept help as her trauma response.

(I’m sorry that these hc are sad but I’m not sure how they could not be lol.)

so i have the legendary pomefiore + leona + lilia combo and I'm using it for cosmic basic but I can't break S? My problem is I'm killing way too early :(

Even with Leona's heal, if I use Leona's M1, I'll kill before Rook can use his duo. If I don't use Leona's M1, I didn't do enough damage (I still kill with Rook by round 4, but I'm not getting over S scores). Any advice?

Leona at 96, Rook at 90, fully maxed

Vil at 92, S2 fully maxed, S1 lvl 6

Epel at 85, 5/5

Birthday Lilia at 85, 5/8

Should I just try with another team to break SS?

This Cosmic test is giving everyone a big headache fr 😬

If you want to continue investing in that team, then my advice is to eventually MLB your Rook and level your Epel’s S2 to max, and don’t use Leona’s M1. Honestly, having a strong Dorm Rook (and Leona) will help heaps with other basic tests as well so it’s not a bad idea to LB using SSR perfumes. Or if you don’t mind waiting, instead of using the perfume just let em come naturally when you pull on future banners but the % is pretty low 💀

This is my team for reference:

Rook, Vil, and Leona’s skills are all 10/10 and max buddies. Epel is 5/10, max buddie. And Lilia is still yet to be in the TLC stage, 1/5 in skills and lv9 buddy with Rook lol (I’ll get to you soon bestie ✨) Managed to get 17.3k with plenty of health left from the enemy before I finished with Rook’s duo on T4-2 (thanks to Leona’s heal) so definitely can improve the score more if I work on their skills.

Honestly, I think your current team would be your best bet to get SS since most of your cards’ skills are maxed (or close to) and are all limit broken. Unless you have other strong cards with a team of 5 duos, the finisher being an atk MLB (lv110 i s best) card. Although, Harveston Epel🍎 is like, ✨the✨ card to invest in, if you do want to try aiming higher than SS in the future! Although you’ll need a certain card that’s not avail on EN yet.
