I know everyone is talking about Bill and Frank, and for good reason! but I see no one talking about the heart-wrenching part when Ellie reads the suicide note and Joel has to step out and take a second to process alone because he doesn’t want Ellie to see him upset.
It’s a very subtle performance from Pedro but it’s so effective. He steps out and you see his stone-faced expression shift just that little bit and it’s obvious he’s grappling with, and grieving for his lost friends and Tess, and his failure to protect who he loves yet again. And the worst part is it really cements that he is deeply wounded by grief but he feels he can’t trust/doesn’t deserve anyone to bare the weight of his emotions and be his crutch when he’s hurting.
And then he just moves on, goes and gets the car, grabs Ellie, leaves. He doesn’t linger. He doesn’t let himself sit in self-pity, because he doesn’t think his pain is worth anything.

To have an older queer love story like that on a hit record breaking tv show is so refreshing. Especially, one with a closeted inexperienced guy like Bill being shown love and in turn becoming more loving and caring towards Frank. It felt so natural and right by his character that I don't mind missing out on him beefing with Ellie. That was beautiful

The amount of homophobes getting mad about the new episode of tlou really isn't surprising. It's just funny to me that they even try to hide their blatant homophobia behind lame explanations and weird takes.
I think this was one of the best & most beautiful episodes of any tv show I've ever watched & I'm so glad they gave this to us. It just felt right for the show even if it was different from the game & yes I'm saying this as a big game lover.
