"All I see is religious drivel about humans having immortal souls ascending to heaven - and why would a mermaid even care about some human-made god's heaven? To eke out an eternal existence, knowing that the one she loves has chosen someone else? That sounds more like a punishment to me than happily ever after."    "Yeah, 's bloody tragic," Newt agreed. He dug his toes into the sand, his damp clothes clinging to his body, and he could no longer hide the chattering of his teeth. Thomas noticed and got up. "Come on, let's grab our shoes and go inside." He offered him his hand and Newt gratefully took it, letting himself be pulled to his feet. They walked side by side in silence for a while, and then Thomas said, "Can you imagine loving someone so much that you’d rather kill yourself than bring harm to that person?" Newt stole a sideways glance at Tommy and found the boy already looking at him. He quickly turned away again before he said, "I don't know, I haven't been in a situation like that before."

This was done for @fandoms-princess who asked for a royalty au and I wanted to do an edit for this but also wanted to flesh out a storyline for it so it had some direction. The idea of warring kingdoms sort of came together after the quote wouldn't leave me alone and I really enjoyed building off of that. (This is another one that has the bare bones of a fic percolating away as a 'hopefully one day' thing).

Concerning the necklace prompt: Is canon important to you as in it has to be Safe Haven/set in Maze Runner canon at all. Or is modern au cool too?

i had not even considered it being set in an au but now that you mention it that could be super interesting ksdfhg it's always really cool to see how people translate certain canon concepts/events into other settings!! all i would ask would be for the circumstances surrounding the necklace to at least somewhat mirror canon (as in, people knew newt before his death and there's grief involved in some capacity and maybe a letter but that bit's probably not as important if you're not feeling it), but otherwise go for it!!!

I got some really fun wishes from @ohbluesky and doing a bit of a murder mystery concept was so different and enjoyable to work on. - Do you want a specific theatre production/must it be Shakespeare

- stuck in time. do you want it one last stop style in public transport or is any place good that the main character frequents a lot

it doesn't have to be shakespeare! i probably put shakespeare down because most people will be familiar with at least some of those and there's potential there for things to be really fun, but that can also be true for other non-shakespeare shows as well!

any place the main character frequents a lot (and that would also have existed in the time period the stuck person is from) would work! someone being stuck in time is the important bit of that one

hahaha but you see! the third prompt is intentionally sparse on details! it has the potential to be incredibly heartbreaking, yes, but it can also be done in a way that's heartwarming, or hopeful, or all of the above. it's all in the execution, and that part would be down to you. if the prompt broke your heart then i think i know which way you saw it going lmao 😁
