If You're Going Through Hell Chapter 7

"You forgot me." Donnie said what Leo couldn't.

"It was like you never existed," Leo whispered miserably. "Things were different, but we didn't know it. All the stuff you'd ever built was all gone: the T-Phones, the Shellraiser. Your lab never existed--"

"My lab?" Donnie interrupted.

Leo winced. "It, um, has a half-pipe now. It's a skate room."

"What?!" Donnie's eyes bulged.

"Yeah, um, mostly Mikey and Casey use it to practice tricks. Mondo Gecko comes over sometimes.

"Donnie blinked at Leo. "MONDO. GECKO. IS DOING KICK FLIPS IN MY LAB?!"

Leo stifled a laugh. The situation was, of course, very serious.

"I regret everything." Donnie said, deadpan. "We should've let reality get deleted rather that create a doomed dystopian hellscape."

Leo nodded solemnly. "I blame myself," he said.

Donnie reached wordlessly for the wet bandages on Raph's side and Raph swatted his hand away without looking at him.

"It's fine," Raph bit out, surprised to hear the venom in his own voice.

Donnie harrumphed and pulled his hand back.

Raph didn't feel the same warmth for Donnie that he had felt earlier. The feeling was gone now. Or buried. He was exhausted. His side burned. The emotions of the past day--frustration, fear, anger, guilt, and worry--were all sounding off in long, sustained notes, coalescing into a screeching sound that rang in his head. He breathed against it, fighting to keep the dam from breaking.

"What happened?" Donnie asked, either ignorant of the clamor or intentionally seeking to unleash it.

Raph closed his eyes and inhaled. "I got cut."
