I've had a really shit couple of days (today especially) and as soon as I got home I caught myself thinking "you know what I need? to read a really fucking good fanfic" and you know what? Hell yeah sometimes you're just an adult who had a bad day and needs to regress to your teenage habits

I’ve been hearing all the complaints about the last season of Umbrella Academy and I’m too scared to watch it lmao like I love this show I was obsessed and would hate to see it ruined

Here’s how it goes:

Jinx steals an airship, and she leaves.

She flies into the sky beyond Piltover and Zaun, out into the world, vaster than the one she left behind. She wanders. She is on the deck of the ship, wind blowing through her air, and she is free. Freer than she had ever been her whole life.

She had known that even if Vi knew, or even had a silver of hope that she was alive, she wouldn’t come after her. Vi loved her too much, too deep, to go after her if she knew she wasn’t wanted, if Jinx left on her own terms. Vi would hurt, and live her life with pain and guilt of not saving her, and Jinx couldn’t do that to her sister. So she had done the only thing she could.

Jinx remembers pulling the pin of the bomb, darting away with shimmer in her veins. She remembers hearing Vi, above the explosions, crying and screaming her throat raw for her brothers and her father that she lost twice, and for her sister that she had lost far too many times to count.

I’m sorry, she had whispered, and she slipped into the air ducts.

Amidst the chaos and the dying, she had hopped onto her childhood dream.

So she flies.

She sees places and meets new people and nobody knows who she is. Nobody knows of a blue haired girl who killed and let off glitter bombs and real bombs and destroyed a city and became a symbol for it.

She never stays in one place for long, and sometimes she meets people and leaves the day after. Sometimes her airship has a few more guests and friends and they travel for a while before she drops them off again.

When people ask for her name, she calls herself Violet.

She was never good at letting go of her sister anyways, save for that one last moment.

The days go by, and life goes on. It’s good. But then sometimes she sees someone with pink hair or someone with a half shaved head or tattoos on their back or twinkling grey eyes, and there’s a pang of something in her chest.

Eventually, after months and months and half a decade of travelling and searching and freeing herself, she takes a breath, and she’s both ready and not, but she is longing and hoping and missing pieces of her that she knew she could never leave behind, not forever.

Eventually, Jinx goes home.
