I was gonna write an essay months and months ago on why I personally didn’t feel like I needed chapter 2 of 8:11 because I feel there’s enough in the story to hint at what happened prior to the game and where the game is going and that a completely open ended story was kind of cool and that it would be fine if dubuk felt he no longer needed to continue it for whatever reason. And I didn’t bother finishing it because it felt contrarian and pretentious as hell, and now that dubuk has actually made a statement on not finishing it, it just feels . Weird i guess.

#I have so many thoughts about 8:11 chapter one serving as a standalone game tho lol #I personally think it stands alone fine. you can’t be normal about it to have that conclusion but I’m not normal abt it #is it fair to expect ppl to spend hours replaying it and pouring over and connecting all the minute details? no.#and that’s why I know I’m the weird one lol #if you only play through it once with no desire to go back and connect all the details then yeah I suppose you would want chapter 2 #to explain things to you if anything #but I’m the freak with the conspiracy board who wanted to figure it all out myself LOL #anyway. there’s no right way to enjoy the game my point is just that you CAN discern at least a vague idea of what’s going on #and what logically comes next. of course there’s still lots I don’t understand #or things that could seem important but mean nothing #I’ll never know. and frankly I’m fine with that lol #I will also say I’ve seen this coming for a while now #it was still surprising to see it written out plainly that chapter two won’t be released but I’ve been expecting it for a while #and again. that’s fine. I’m a little sad I won’t get to see what was in dubuk’s brain for the ending or get more info about vivi #but I don’t think it’s necessarily bad that he can have his true version of 8:11 in his head and the rest of us get to speculate #then the mystery continues I guess. forever and ever as long as he keeps being subtle and hinting at things lol #they call me the yapper

It's always so weird to come down from the biology heavens to see what the average person believes about animals, plants, ecosystems, just the world around them. I don't even mean things that one simply doesn't know because they've never been told or things that are confusing, I'm talking about people who genuinely do not see insects as animals. What are you saying. Every time I see a crawling or fluttering little guy I know that little guy has motivations and drive to fulfill those motivations. There are gears turning in their head! They are perceiving this world and they are drawing conclusions, they are conscious. And yet it's still a whole thing if various bugs of the world feel pain or if they are simply Instinct Machines that are Not Truly Aware of Anything At All????? Help!!!!!! How can you look at a little guy and think he is just the macroscopic animal version of a virus

#yesterday i made a complainy post about a whale edit having people confused about whale sharks and orcas' dolphin and whale identity #but honestly i cant even hold these things against someone. its confusing that whale sharks are called with two different animal names!#and if you only know about the whale dolphin porpoise divide then you may not know that dolphins and porpoises and others are toothed whale #i dont think anyone is actually stupid for not having this information preinstalled in their brains #if anything it makes me happy to get to explain things because i love explaining things that i know :D #however... this #it just makes me sad :(#its so weird when this whole thing is subjected towards OTHER VERTEBRATES too like fish or reptiles or amphibians #like man.... you are a fish. your ancestors were buddy buddy (or actually probably enemy enemy) with the ancestors of these guys #fish are like a whole other class of animal to a lot of people dont even get me started #they never get the same protections as mammals or birds do even if they are just as or more endangered #mmmmm i wont rant now #biology

i think its so funny when people take the way donnie acts at face value even though its a horrible lie because he's a horrible liar, while understanding leo is bullshitting very well despite him actually being GOOD at bullshitting. many such cases

#personal #rottmnt #although tbf its probably because with leo its unpacked more thoroughly in the movie #donnie is not a morally ambiguous emotionally unavailable bad boy. he is very sensitive actually #he's a little crybaby /aff #and like this isnt hidden. he isnt SECRETLY sensitive or secretly caring its very out in the open actually #he's not hiding it well AT ALL AND THEY ALL KNOW IT LMAOOOOOOOO #i think donnie's perception of himself is somewhat earnest and somewhat. not? he DEFINITELY thinks he's more evil than he actually is #BGHFHDHGJFHG #i think what causes him to lash out and struggle to communicate is his inability to articulate his feelings #they are just too big for him. like its the exact opposite of robotic #he cant force himself to give a fuck but when he DOES its too much #so he yells and lashes out or he shuts down completely #honestly i think the perception of him being too sensitive being a problem makes way more sense than the perception of him being 'robotic'#when it comes to struggles in how his family sees him at least #even in little ways you can see him take it pretty personally when he's insulted #he struggles to blow things off #and i think it would also explain his tendency to like. visibly calm himself down when he gets upset? its a thing he does a lot in the show #he desperately wants to destroy that perception of him because he's trying so hard to close himself off #he doesn't want to be the sensitive one that cant take anything. it especially works in line with his shell #it was a big inspiration for canary continuity tbh. donnie should struggle with being the sensitive one in fic more #mikey is more empathetic and he's more emotional but donnie's quicker to feel offended or take things personally #BACKED UP HEAVILY BY CANON #that 'you can be honest with me! no hard feelings' - 'he's lyinggggggg'#like he's not upset with them babying him as much as he is with them genuinely finding it frustrating that he can fall behind like that #and just cannot take shit like that. so he tries to pull back and not seem as affected as he is #theyre a very cuddly family but mind you they can be actually mean to each other like that!!

Free, who narrates the murderbot audiobooks. when fans complain about the casting for the tv show, there is a very real basis for it in these past official/canonical aspects of the book series
