mizuki "tsuki" iida - the cool older sister of the quirk laboratory group. she's very level-headed and kind, so its no surprise that she's nana's childhood crush. she's from the hero department and her quirk is rocket thrusters on her hands and feet that allow her to maneuver in the air. she can come off as rude at times, but she's just very blunt.

yōkō kirishima - very oblivious and very competitive; all around loving idiot who takes well after her mom and dad in looks AND temperament. she's the fitness nut and troublemaker between nana and tsuki, but is fiercely brave when it counts. her quirk allows her to grow acid crystals from any part of her body.

Hi!!! I am still doing stuff for it it's just the constant battle of trying to stay on track despite all the ideas I have for many many different things 💀 I do have some design ideas I plan to work on once I'm done with my college stuff, but for now:

perhaps I could interest you in a little ficlet? lil bit of setting the scene for the Todoroki family and what will go down as Demon Slayer Shouto's Worst Day Ever? Feat. narrator Natsuo, because I love him and he gets no press in this beyond being Dead (which this features so tw for death and gore implications!). Sorry buddy that's just what it means to be an origin story 🐻‍❄️☃️

It was growing dark. Packed snow crunched under Natsuo's boots as he and Shouto headed home, the basket on his back empty and light. The air was clear, despite the late hour. It was a good thing. He didn't want to navigate a snowstorm.

“How are you doing, Sho?” He checked on his brother, Shouto’s hand was warm in his as they started up the slopes, the path up the mountain cleared of trees. “Do you need me to carry you?”

“No, I’ll be fine,” Shouto determined. “I can walk fast.” 

“Good, because I want to get home quick, I’m starving,” Natsuo grinned and patted his stomach. Shouto glanced up at him with mismatched eyes, a subtle smile the closest Natsuo would get to a laugh. He smiled back anyway. 

 It was good they’d been able to sell all the charcoal. He’d meant it when he told their mother he wanted everyone to have plenty to eat for the new year, and the trip in the town meant he could get more of Touya’s medicine. His older brother seemed to be wasting away more and more with every year, a living ghost that haunted his way around the house. Sometimes Natsuo was surprised he hadn’t passed away, but Touya was stubbornly still trying to act as the head of the household. Had been ever since-

He pushed memories away before he was mired in them, the wind gaining an edge as the shadows kept stretching across snow. The last houses on the village’s edge shed light across the path, golden and warm. People must have been settling down for the night. He really should have been more responsible and left sooner so he and Shouto could be doing the same.

He heard a quiet yawn beside him, Shouto hiding it behind his sleeve. He was starting to doubt his decision to take Shouto up the mountain path in the dark. He’d done it a few times himself, but Shouto was still young, and the trip was steep, the air thin. Should he ask for hospitality on his brother’s behalf?

He stopped at the last house before the mountain path began, raising a hand to knock carefully. He felt a tug on his hand, Shoto staring up at him. His mismatched eyes were sharp and too knowing. “What are we doing at the Honenukis?”

“I’m going to see if they’ll let you stay for the night.” Natsuo wasn’t going to lie to him. 

“But I can keep going.” Shouto’s brows furrowed, a scowl crinkling the scar tissue around his eye. Weren’t scars meant to fade as time passed? Five years on and it was still a vibrant red. “I can.”

The door slid open as Juzo Honenuki stood behind it, straw-coloured hair loose as it brushed the tops of his shoulders. There was mud dried on the hem of his pants. He always had mud on him somehow. “Can I help you? Is everything okay?”

Natsuo hesitated, glancing down at Shouto before he bowed respectfully. “Hi Juzo. Will you and your father let Shouto stay for the night? I’ll come back at first light to get him.” Mr Honenuki was a bit of a hermit, due to whatever undisclosed incident had taken both legs, but Juzo was always nice. He’d brought charcoal earlier, maybe next time Natsuo could give him some for free.

“I can make it.” Shouto pulled his hand out of Natsuo’s, scowl deepening.

“I know, Sho,” Natsuo smiled apologetically. “But you know Yumi would kill me if she knew I dragged you up the mountain after the sun went down. You stay here, I’ll be back first thing.”

Shouto stared at him before shrugging passively, unwilling to put up more of a fight. “Fine.”

Juzo looked between them, teeth prominent as he talked. “You’re still going up the mountain, Natsuo? It's getting dark.”

“I know the way,” Natsuo patted the hatchet on his hip as well. It was a bit of extra security now, instead of just a handy tool. “I need to drop off my brother’s medications. How’s your dad?”

“Doing well,” Juzo grinned toothily, a little mischievously. “Are you sure you don’t want to stay as well? My dad says that if you stay out at night the demons will get you.”

“Demons?” Shouto tilted his head slightly. 

Natsuo laughed, ruffling up Shouto’s hair, something tugging in his stomach. Where had he heard that before? “There’s no such thing, don’t worry. I’ll be back tomorrow before you know it.”

“Okay.” Shouto followed Juzo in. Natsuo watched his brother shuffle along, as apathetic as he was to most things. It had been five years since mom had- since dad left, and Shouto had been quiet ever since. Natsuo hoped he didn’t remember much of that. Who remembered what happened when they were five, anyway?

He smiled like he wasn’t thinking of their fraught family history and bowed deeper. “Thank you for this, I owe you.” Maybe he could drop by more often, bring Shouto and Fuyumi to help out a bit around the house and let Shouto and Juzo hang out. Like mom used to do, before she shut down.

“You’re welcome,” Juzo smiled again. “Besides, your charcoal’s keeping my home warm, so it’s the least we can do. My dad’s already making dinner, are you really sure you don’t want to stay for some?”

“Fuyumi’s going to have something on for me,” he waved his hands. “Seriously, I’ll be fine. I know the path.”

“Be careful.” Shouto stared at him, his eyes demanding a promise. 

“I will be.” Natsuo nodded back before he waved goodbye, just for now. “See you tomorrow, Sho.”

“See you.” Shouto waved before the door slid shut behind him. Natsuo waited for a moment, hearing the boys beginning to talk, or Juzo talking at least. He smiled to himself as he left, snow crunching under his boots as he adjusted his scarf around his neck. The pack containing medicine for Touya and all the money he’d made jangled on his hip, opposite his hatchet. His brother better be grateful, all the work Natsuo put into taking care of things on his behalf. 

The path grew steeper as he was left to his own thoughts, trying to pinpoint what was so familiar about demons before it hit him. Touya used to scare him with those stories, of monsters that were strong as a bear and fast as the wind, that cared only for eating human flesh and came out at night to feast.

He had nightmares for weeks before Fuyumi tried to cheer him up by saying dad had left to go slay the monsters. It would have been a nice lie if dad wasn’t a terrible person, from what Natsuo remembered. Still. Funny that Juzo had apparently heard the same stories. He hoped Shouto wouldn’t get nightmares either. 

He regretted not staying back the higher he went, the harsher the cold winds blew. Snowflakes nipped at his hair and face, biting and sharp. He trudged onwards, barely able to see in the dark whirling snow, relying on memory and what little visibility he had. At least Shouto had a hot meal and a good sleep. Natsuo could make it a bit further before getting the same. 

He made it up the last ridge in time to hear Fuyumi’s scream. He broke into a sprint, hand on his hatchet as he raced through the thick snow towards the outline of his home, no lanterns lit despite them knowing he was on his way- 

He reached the entrance of his house, just in time to be hit with the smell of blood, to see the monstrous hulking figure with Fuyumi’s bleeding form at its feet. A bear? No- the form was too human-

He froze at the realisation. A demon. Touya was right.

Fuyumi saw him, horrified grey eyes a mirror of his own, blood weeping from her wounds. Her leg was missing, clasped in one of the demon’s many, mighty hands. His grip shook on his hatchet as she yelled for him to run. He couldn’t move his body. The demon watched him for a moment, eyes glowing like blue suns in the shadows of its bloodied face. There was the sound of rushing wind, searing pain as teeth bit deep into his flesh, air whistling past his ears- 

His neck tore off from the whiplash, and he was gone.

I’m gonna say something that’s probably not going to be well received in certain circles so let me start by saying this: I believe, with only a few rare exceptions, that you should be able to ship whatever speaks to you the most. And just because I don’t ship something doesn’t mean it’s wrong for anyone else to ship it, and the same for things I do ship, no one else has to ship it too. Who you do or don’t ship will never be a reason I pass judgment on you, ever. Live your best life.

That being said, I want to talk about Horikoshi and straight ships.

(And bakudeku.)

Here’s the thing: Hori has written straight ships into MHA and he’s done it so masterfully that it’s made me ship them without even realizing it. I don’t know if we can call them canon because as far as I know no ship is actually canon yet, but what is canon is the care Hori put into building these relationships.

Kirimina. Hori wrote in a backstory that parallels bkdk that I just adore. There is something about Kiri looking up to Mina and being so inspired by her bravery that it shapes the hero he becomes that is such good content. They’ve had multiple mid-battle moments of protecting and helping each other. I ship Kirimina so hard because of the canon Hori gave us.

I am a low key Denki/Hitoshi shipper but season six kinda hit me in the face with whatever we’re calling Kyouka/Denki these days and now I guess I’m a multi-shipper???? That is how hard Hori hit me with the Kyouka/Denki feels. And he did it the same way as Kirimina, because we have years of content of Kyouka teasing Denki mercilessly, plus the cultural festival band, so when they’re separated in Season 6 and Denki has this intense moment of realization that she’s who he needs to be brave for and it actually works??? I’m a goner.

Heck, I ship todomomo too you guys though I can’t blame Hori for that one, that’s just me being me. The point is that I ship it because the characters Hori gave me struck a chord inside.

But there is one straight ship Hori never once made me ship.

Every time izu*cha showed up I just kinda endured it? It just wasn’t for me. I didn’t see two kids with chemistry, I saw two kids who didn’t know who they were or what they wanted fumbling their way through a will they/won’t they without either of them seeming all that invested in it.

In six seasons and nearly 400 chapters and multiple times revisiting the story I have never once felt any inclination to ship izu*cha

Hori can write straight ships. Hori made me ship his secondary straight ships nearly effortlessly. So if izu*cha was meant to be canon why have I never once felt the chemistry?

You know who has the chemistry? Bakudeku. But here’s the thing: I wasn’t thinking about Katsuki as a possible love interest for Izuku the first time I watched the entire story. I honestly wasn’t paying much attention to him at all, he was everything I didn’t like on the surface so I more or less ignored him despite Izuku holding onto him for dear life. Katsuki never once colored my opinion of izu*cha, they did that all on their own.

It wasn’t until after my first watch through, when I was hungry for more and trolling around tumblr, that I realized people shipped Katsuki and Izuku and it was literally like something out of alignment popped into place in my head.

Oh. Duh. That’s the ship.

I went from zero to a million in a handful of seconds because the chemistry was there, the backstory was there, and boy are Izuku and Katsuki loud about how obsessed they are with each other. Just like Kirimina, just like Denki and Kyouka, Hori planted the seeds throughout the entire series so that when it was brought to my attention everything about the narrative and character development supported it.

And I have to take a moment to explain my dislike of Katsuki at first: I honestly fell for the surface-level interpretation of his character and then kinda wrote him off without much more thought. Which is insane to think about because you can’t really understand MHA without Katsuki, he is so integral to the story as a whole that any version of it without him is skewed so far out of alignment that it’s not even the same story anymore. But I just saw angry boy who yells for no reason and put Katsuki in a box and left it at that.

It wasn’t until I was willing to give his character a second look that I started understanding him, and more importantly, his relationship with Izuku. And it helped that when bkdk was presented to me as a ship that my brain understood immediately why it worked. The canon source material supports bkdk at every possible moment.

I really don’t think it does the same for izu*cha.

YANDERE TODOMOMO HEADCANNONS

They were already dating by the time they met you. They though you were like everyone else, just a regular classmate of theirs, however, they had no idea how WRONG they were 

To be precise, you were actually kinda hard to ignore, the way your eyes lit and sparkled when people talked about your favorite thing, the way your dazzling smile could make a person see stars, the way your innocence shone through and the determination you always had to help people out no matter what was what attracted them to you. How could you expect BOTH of them NOT to fall INSANELY in love with you?

However, they were scared and nervous to ask you out since they thought that you might find them weird and creepy and so, they kept themselves satisfied by stalking you or 'keeping a close eye on you so nothing bad happens to you' and admired you from far 

As much as they find your will and iron determination too cute and adorable, they just PRAY and hope that you won't want to become a pro hero in the future since they're really worried about you getting hurt. One time, you had a really nasty gash on your arm after a villain attack and after that, Momo started sniffling and crying saying how she'd be devastated if something bad happened to you while Todoroki looked like he was going to someone's funeral. Let's just say that if they weren't clingy then, they MOST CERTAINLY WILL BE now 

They know their feelings are crazy, but they're so madly in love with you they can't ignore them. So if you find a mysterious love letter in your locker or small gifts for you here and there, that's no doubt Todoroki and Momo since they're rich kids and all, they just LOVE showing you how much they love you by yeeting presents in your locker (Anonymously, of course)

On a scale on 1-10, to you, they'll just be a solid 2 or 2.5 since you're their divine angel sent from the heavens itself for them to WORSHIP!! They have a GOD DAMN WAREHOUSE filled with all your favorite stuff and before you ask how the hell they managed to pull THAT off, as stated before, they're rich kids and so they have all the required resources and necessities for you to be satisfied 

They will get INSANELY jealous and be fuming with rage, envy and jealousy when they see you talking or laughing or smiling at someone else. They have the emotional range of a GALAXY when it comes to you. How DARE that filthy annoying pesky scumbag be right NEXT to you!? Oh gods.... he was TOUCHING you!! He PATTED your SHOULDER!!! Well, this is gonna drive 'em insane over the edge and they'll be plotting murder, that's for sure. Satan spawns 

When you get kidnapped, they'll understand how you feel and they'll be sympathetic. They might kidnap you if they think you're not capable of taking care of yourself and with proper planning, they're gonna keep you under their care. You guys in a mood for surprises? Well, you're gonna get a HUGE one now.....

Endeavour will find out about the obsession his youngest son and his girlfriend have for you and he's gonna actually ENCOURAGE IT, believe it or not (ENDATRASHHHHH I'm coming for ya) and GET THIS!!!: HE'S gonna be the one who's going to make sure you have everything you want and he'll install high tech level security systems around the place you guys are at 

Momo will worship TF outta you. She dresses you up in all sorts of fancy clothing, makes you eat overly rich food till you're gonna be BEGGING her to stop but she insists on treating you like royalty. Every touch is gonna feel like paradise and heaven for her. And she just wants to take good care of her darling little angel, and provide you with comfort and the BEST of the BEST!

Shoto's intentions towards you can be a bit....unpredictable. Momo might be a gullible yandere, ask for something, you get it. Shoto on the other tends to keep a close eye on you, suspicious whether you would be upto something and always makes sure to see what you're doing. His calculating look analyzes your every move before you can even act upon them

When it comes to punishments, Shoto ain't gonna take it easy on you. He wants to freeze and burn you mildly of course as a reminder that you belong ONLY to THEM and no one else but Momo will intervene and stop him and calm him down. At the very least, your punishment might be having your favorite things taken away from you but they just can't hurt you at all. They DON'T WANT to. Momo will NEVER EVER let Todoroki lay a hand on you and treat you wrong though it might take a while to gain back both of their trust

Aftercare with them is like paradise. They'll smother you with lots of love and treat you like a newfound puppy and take care of you like you're glass

When it comes to dealing with rivals and other enemies who want to steal you away from them , your 'protectors', they are a SOLID 100000000/10 and that people is a FACT! Seriously, whoever tries anything with you is just BEGGING them for a death wish and since they're pro heroes, they're gonna make their death look like some sort of accident after they're done torturing them. It's like getting an ice cream after getting decked in the nose.

It's not just the usual angst-ridden characters like Todoroki and Bakugou. I have a whole review typed up for this bad boy, but I'd say it's worth a read.

Imperceptible by lunarecrypt

A Hagakure-centric fic was something I did not know I needed, but now I'm glad I have it. Hagakure needs stealth advice from Todoroki, and she finds out the barest bones of his backstory and why he is the way he is. I always love fics about less popular characters, and I especially love them when they're told from the perspective of an underappreciated character. I really like Hagakure, and I wish there was more available content about her.

Terrible Twos by PotterheadAvengerDemigod

Midoriya is hit with a Quirk that de-ages him back to when he's four years old, and since Bakugou is the only person he knows and remembers, Bakugou has to babysit him. Tooth-rottingly adorable and features Bakugou struggling not to swear in the presence of innocent baby Deku, lest his friends hit him over the head with a rolled up newspaper. It's great, fucking love it.

Kirishima gets sick of Midoriya and Todoroki's pining, so he decides to flirt with Todoroki in an attempt to not-so-subtly force Midoriya to confess by taking advantage of Midoriya's competitive streak. The characterization is really solid and features teenagers being teenagers, with all the hell that is high school put on full display. I just love it when class 1A is depicted as just the most Gen Z kids to ever exist. This fic is almost literally every conversation I've overheard or been apart of in homework group study sessions. It's great.

(Honestly, just go read everything by this author).

bff (brother friend forever) by carolinaa

A collection of snapshots showing Iida and Uraraka's friendship, where they're really just bratty siblings that love each other just so much. As always with this author, great writing style, fantastic characterization, and hit me in the fucking feels.

(Seriously. Read everything by this author. Especially if you want good Erasermic and Todo-family fics).
