Nine Lines 9 People
Tagged by @lychhiker-writes
A calmer moment! It's KINDA 9 lines!
They seemed to move as a unit around Henry, each moving in a practiced rhythm as tents came down and horses were tacked up around him. He saw Iris mutter something to Storm and the way the man waved it off, looking sour. He saw Tom twirl Lucy in one arm as he loaded their cookware with the other. He felt himself being utterly useless.
“What- I mean, can I help?” He asked weakly, noting that they were almost done already.
“Never you mind.” Tom replied in an almost kind tone of voice. “You’re our guest. Guests don’t clean, my Mama used to say.”
“Neither do I!” Lucy added brightly, “I’ve got other talents though, don’t you worry. Besides, Tom doesn’t mind.”

The Astronomica (Classical Latin: [astrɔˈnɔmɪka]), also known as the Astronomicon, is a Latin didactic poem about celestial phenomena, written in hexameters and divided into five books. The Astronomica was written c. AD 30–40 by a Roman poet whose name was likely Marcus Manilius; little is known of Manilius, and although there is evidence that the Astronomica was probably read by many other Roman writers, no surviving works explicitly quote him.
The Apollo 15 postal covers incident, a 1972 NASA scandal, involved the astronauts of Apollo 15, who carried about 400 unauthorized postal covers into space and to the Moon's surface on the Lunar Module Falcon. Some of the envelopes were sold at high prices by West German stamp dealer Hermann Sieger, and are known as "Sieger covers".
The Battle of Hayes Pond, also known as the Battle of Maxton Field or the Maxton Riot, was an armed confrontation between members of a Ku Klux Klan (KKK) organization and Lumbee people at a Klan rally near Maxton, North Carolina, on the night of January 18, 1958. The clash resulted in the disruption of the rally and a significant amount of media coverage praising the Lumbees and condemning the Klansmen.
Canadian heraldry is the cultural tradition and style of coats of arms and other heraldic achievements in both modern and historic Canada. It includes national, provincial, and civic arms, noble and personal arms, ecclesiastical heraldry, heraldic displays as corporate logos, and Canadian blazonry.
General Gregor MacGregor (24 December 1786 – 4 December 1845) was a Scottish soldier, adventurer, and confidence trickster who attempted from 1821 to 1837 to draw British and French investors and settlers to "Poyais", a fictional Central American territory that he claimed to rule as "Cazique". Hundreds invested their savings in supposed Poyaisian government bonds and land certificates, while about 250 emigrated to MacGregor's invented country in 1822–23 to find only an untouched jungle; more than half of them died. Seen as a contributory factor to the "Panic of 1825", MacGregor's Poyais scheme has been called one of the most brazen confidence tricks in history.
Aluminium (or aluminum) metal is very rare in native form, and the process to refine it from ores is complex, so for most of human history it was unknown. However, the compound alum has been known since the 5th century BCE and was used extensively by the ancients for dyeing.
The Hitler Diaries (German: Hitler-Tagebücher) were a series of sixty volumes of journals purportedly written by Adolf Hitler, but forged by Konrad Kujau between 1981 and 1983. The diaries were purchased in 1983 for 9.3 million Deutsche Marks (£2.3 million or $3.7 million) by the West German news magazine Stern, which sold serialisation rights to several news organisations.
The Keldholme Priory election dispute occurred in Yorkshire, England, in 1308. After a series of resignations by its prioresses, the establishment was in a state of turmoil, and the Archbishop of York, William Greenfield, appointed one of the nuns to lead the house. His candidate, Emma de Ebor' (Emma of York), was deemed unacceptable by many nuns, who undermined her from the start to the extent that she resigned three months later.
Sir Osbert Lancaster CBE (4 August 1908 – 27 July 1986) was an English cartoonist, architectural historian, stage designer and author. He was known for his cartoons in the British press, and for his lifelong work to inform the general public about good buildings and architectural heritage.
Thomas Edward Neil Driberg, Baron Bradwell (22 May 1905 – 12 August 1976) was a British journalist, politician, High Anglican churchman and possible Soviet spy, who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 1942 to 1955, and again from 1959 to 1974. A member of the Communist Party of Great Britain for more than twenty years, he was first elected to parliament as an Independent and joined the Labour Party in 1945. He never held any ministerial office, but rose to senior positions within the Labour Party and was a popular and influential figure in left-wing politics for many years.

More about this wonderful campaign 🤧💕
Manu
We're very proud that FC Bayern fans have developed special signs for us players. No one should feel excluded here, a sports club should always be a home for everyone. I'm glad I now have my own sign and would love it if all fans remembered the signs to improve communication and with it the integration of people with hearing disabilities
Chairwoman of the Red Deaf FC Bayern fan club Martina Bechtold
It's been a pleasure for us to have developed signs for the players of FC Bayern. FC Bayern is a big family and we now feel even more a part of this community through this joint project. We've been thinking about the signs for many months, and it's been a special highlight implementing the project together with the players. We can now feel yet again: Mia san Mia!
FC Bayern disabled fans' representative Kim Krämer:
This joint project between FC Bayern and fans with hearing disabilities is another wonderful example of how inclusion is lived and breathed at this club. It's a great signal that the signs for the players were developed by the fans themselves. This is how you promote togetherness and a sense of community. FC Bayern is a home for everyone

RIP CAROLE COOK
1924 - 2023
Carole Cook was born Mildred Frances Cook in Abilene, Texas. She was a close friend and protégé of Lucille Ball, and lived in Ball's home early in her career. Ball was the matron of honor at Cook's 1964 wedding to actor Tom Troupe. Ball is credited for suggesting Cook change her stage name from Mildred Frances to Carole, in honor of Ball's close friend Carole Lombard. During her long career, she was sometimes ghost singer for her mentor, Lucille Ball.
Cook also worked on stage, appearing in the original 1980 production of 42nd Street. She was well-known for her cabret act. Prior to that she appeared in the Bernard Slate play Romantic Comedy (1979).
Cook was a meember of the Desilu Playhouse and performed in their 1959 Christmas Revue.
In January 1965, Cook played “Password” with her friend Lucille Ball. They played again in September 1966.
Her second motion picture was the hit The Incredible Mr. Lippett (1964) playing Bessie, wife of the title character played by Don Knotts.
THE LUCY SHOW
Cook made four appearances playing Thelma Green on “The Lucy Show,” and played Mrs. Valance in three episodes. She played a variety of other characters in 11 others.
As Thelma Green when “Lucy and Viv Are Volunteer Firemen” (1963)
As Thelma Green (with Mary Jane Croft) in “Lucy Drives a Dump Truck” (1963)
As Thelma Green (with Dorothy Konrad) in “Lucy’s Barbershop Quartet” (1963)
As Milroy University alumnus Betty Jo Hansen (with Lyle Talbot) in “Lucy’s College Reunion” (1963)
As Thelma Green when “Lucy Takes a Job at the Bank” (1964)
As Mrs. Valance, Society Editor, at a wine tasting in “Lucy and the Countess” (1965)
As Thelma Green, judging Lucy’s pie, when “Lucy Enters a Baking Contest” (1964)
As Mrs. Valance (with Ann Sothern) in “My Fair Lucy” (1965)
As Mrs. Valance in “Lucy the Stockholder” (1965)
As Mrs. Baldwin (with Max Showalter), board member of the Danfield Community Players, in “Lucy and Arthur Godfrey” (1965)
Gambling (with Douglas Deane and Bennett Green) when “Lucy Goes To Vegas” (1965)
As Aunt Carrie, a resident of the small town of Bancroft when “Lucy Puts Main Street on the Map” (1967)
As Effie Higgins, wife of Homer, in “Lucy and Tennessee Ernie Ford” (1967)
As a piano bar patron (with George DeNormand) in “Lucy and Phil Harris” (1968)
As bank teller Gladys in “Lucy and Sid Caesar” (1968), her final series appearance
HERE’S LUCY
Cook provided the introduction for one of the episodes on the DVD release.
As notorious crime boss Ma Parker in “Lucy and Ma Parker” (1970)
In the audience of the “Carol Burnett Show” in “Lucy and Carol Burnett” (1969)
As Harry’s old girlfriend Lillian Rylander in “Lucy the Part-Time Wife” (1970)
As Mrs. Sheila Casten, who has trouble with her toaster, in “Lucy the Crusader” (1970)
As Cynthia, contestant in the Lucille Ball Look-Alike Contest, when “Lucy Carter Meets Lucille Ball” (1974). This was Cook’s final series appearance.
CODA
On a 1974 episode of “Maude” starring Bea Arthur and as Mrs. Dobrun in the 1980 film American Gigolo starring Richard Gere, Cook wore a dress gifted to her by Lucille Ball. Ball had worn the dress as Lucy Ricardo in “The Celebrity Next Door” (1957) starring Tallulah Bankhead. It was later sold at auction.
Cook was survived by her husband, Tom Troupe. She died in Beverly Hills, just days before her 99th birthday.

7, 11, and 25 please!
7. Favorite actor of the year?
jkdghklj oh man, this is like the first year in forever that I even have a favourite actor. But yeah, sure, it's Tom Holland.
11. Something you want to do again next year?
Coooons!! I had an absolute blast at cons this year and I wanna keep that going next year, hopefully with even more cons. Maybe even some where I'm not going as an artist but just as a visitor 😂 As much as I love tabling, I want a chance to focus on cosplaying too.
25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one.
Okay ahhh look!!! My friend and I, we're writing a collab original fiction story, each of us writing one POV character and. We haven't gotten far yet (which is entirely my fault) but I love my boy Konrad.
Konrad is married to his work. He quite likes spending time with it, talking to it even. His work, that is. The City. So he doesn't really have much of a social life. But who needs that anyway? He has his work, and he's good at it. The best. He knows more about Shifts than anyone else. And if that's perhaps because he, somewhat illegally, lives in a Shifted house, no one needs to know. So what if there's a bottomless pit in his kitchen, and the kitchen door leads into the second floor bedroom's wardrobe, and the windows look out on the river despite the house not being anywhere near the river? He likes it like that. If he does ever feel the need for some human company, he can go to the diner. They know him at the diner. The waitress knows what he likes to drink (vegetable broth) and Hannes Hein talks to him and doesn't mind that Konrad doesn't answer half the time, and then there's Johnathan At The Bar, who he's never talked to but who's always there. All things considered, he doesn't have much to complain about. Now if the City could just stop killing people, that would be great.
