We're on our very final day of Sloane Washington Appreciation Week!! It's been amazing, especially since we've seen quite a few new faces this year contributing and giving Sloane lots of love. We can't wait to see what more you all have in store for us!! 💞💞💞

Tomorrow is Day 5 - our last day - and we have two themes!!

Our first theme is about Hobbies. Think about things Sloane would like outside of her job and her special interest in science. What would she do for fun? Are there things that the MC or Hayden or the group introduce her to, that she begins to enjoy? Are there things she introduces them to??

Our second is, of course, PETS! We know she loves cats, and in time she warms up to Dipper too. So this is where you can explore what kind of pets you'd like Sloane to have, if any, and how she takes care of them 😍

As always, any form of appreciation is welcome! Fanfic, fanart, meta, edits, moodboards, playlists, headcanons, interactive media, even screenshots of favourite scenes or simple posts about your love for her!! Our only requirement is that you center Sloane in your work, and that the depiction is positive!

We also accept WIPs - we know irl can be hard and you may not always get the time to finish off stuff, so do show us a WIP of what you're working on if you're comfortable! We keep our event open even after the deadline (the deadline is mostly for our thank you video!) so you can send in your work anytime as well.

A friendly reminder that these are merely themes for you to use. It isn't completely necessary for your content for a particular day to be posted on that day only. You can post something you intended for Day 2 when Day 5 is on, as long as you tag the post for the day you meant it for.

And don't worry if you weren't able to finish even after that deadline - we will be accepting pieces all year round! Just send it to us and we'll put it up on the final masterlist.

My thoughts on the skull-based TMP logo on Rusty Quill's redbubble, and what it might mean:

Okay so one of the first things that jumps out to me is that the brain has a motherboard in it, which calls back to MAg 65 Binary, specifically 'the maze is sharp on my mind it cuts me when I try to think' which could mean that Jon's knowledge is less available here seeing as the eye is new once more, could be a lack of knowledge in general, a finite amount of knowledge being available, the inability to think on a higher level and see the forest as a whole instead of just the trees, etc etc. There's a bigger picture, just can't be seen. Alongside that, the skull looks very primitive in style, which could be indicative of the fact that the fears have just burst into their plane recently and that the people are trying to figure it out still, which ties back into MAG 65 Binary. This could also be symbolism for the fact that they think they know all that there is necessary to know, but truly they can only access a small bit, or that they're losing themselves to it, similar to the original podcast. The bottom of the skull fades into splatters of what seems like blood, faded out to imagery of a city. I can assume this would mean something having to do with the extinction, which also might be the theme rather than the desolation, or it would tie in in a way. Either way it seems like urban hellscape type shit. Finally, the red coloring. Alongside the skull, ominous splattering, etc, it seems as though the entire message of this is that TMP will be aggressive. Red is the only color that can raise your blood pressure just by looking at it, after all. And it certainly sends a message. Finally, and the point that reaches the farthest, the skull is almost deteriorating. This is proven as it fades into cityscape. But it has not yet reached the brain, where the knowledge is stored. So something bad may have already happened. But, yknow, that's just a theory

Currently thinking about a fic where the DMD!Scarecrow snaps at maid!reader, sending her running away in tears just to bump into the DMD!Tin Woodman who's startled and appalled to see a maid of her majesty the Queen of Oz in such dissaray and ends up comforting her in his confusion-- just for Scare, realising he might have been a tad too harsh with the cute maid and she might not come back if he doesnt apologise, to emerge from his labs and see

I went through a lot of ups and downs with HoM esp while querying. My grandma died last year and life continues to be more touch and go than I’d like, but that and my own frustration at the system spurred me to self-publish. I don't need anyone's permission to do what I love and I'm glad I finally did it. Whether Hymn of Memory does well or goes out without much fanfare doesn’t super matter. I’m just glad I did it.

I watched the DVD Audio Commentary of The Gang Hits the Road by Charlie, Rob, and Danny (no wonder Glenn didn’t wanna miss this one for the pod) and the following are a few interesting points they touched on that I hope they remember/discuss for the Pod this week:

- The stunt guy they had for the bike scene did a ton of takes flipping over the car/crashing. Similarly, it took Rob far too many takes to throw the bottle at the guy and actually hit him

- When they were at the Flea Market a ton of fans were there watching them film. One woman came right up to Danny right in the middle of a shot for an autograph. Completely ruined the take and (at the time) they kept it on film

- This episode was 8-10 minutes over and one of their longest so they had to cut a ton down. They mention cutting a scene where Charlie and Dennis try to call the Gang from inside the U-Hall but have no reception and thus decide to burn the chairs

- Charlie discusses how this point was when they truly established Mac was pretty delusional about his life (seeing himself as the Sheriff of Paddy’s) and how Charlie fed into / believed Mac’s claims while the rest of the Gang simply entertained them (or didn’t and laughed about it)

Of everything, I hope they talk more about the scenes and/or written stuff they had to cut from the episode. Would be cool to hear them talk more about the characters and their development/long establishing personalities here but not sure that’s a realistic ask.
