When it comes to the batfam discovering that Tim Drake is missing his spleen, it is typically portrayed either as an injury or illness becoming very problematic due to his lack of a significant part of the immune system, or some kind of argument about Tim feeling that the batfam doesn’t care about him in the same way he cares for them. While both of these are entertaining, I find the more mundane conversational bombshell approach: someone is missing their appendix, another has had their tonsils out, someone still has all their organs, and… what do you mean you don’t have a spleen??

Juicing the business tonsils releases dopamine, iodized grinth, and a desire to reconcile P cards.

What is so serious about tonsils?
I know that most people who have problems with them get them taken out as a child, but I never really understood why?
Isn't having them inflamed often just a thing they'd otherwise grow out anyway? Or like... they would just be a bit more prone to fall ill as an adult too, but nothing to serious?
Tonsils can become so inflamed that they block the airway. This is the primary indication for a tonsillectomy. They might also be removed if a patient has chronic tonsilitis to prevent airway obstruction.
If a person has their tonsils removed, they may be slightly more susceptible to infection, and I've heard subjective reports that they have a higher chance of food or drink going up their nose through the back of their throat.

genuinely someone please help me.
I've been to a doctor about this but he said I was wrong.
I'm pretty sure I have tonsil stones, but my tonsils are not inflamed. for that reason he said I was incorrect about my conclusion.
tonsil stones are the white debris that form in your tonsils and may even result in holes which increases the chances of getting stones in the tonsils.
what can I do?
(it hurts when I cough. I've tried gurgling with apple cider vinegar and water as well as salt water)
it's still in there. I try to brush my teeth and gurgle after eating, but there was a water shortage for a few days so I couldn't do it all. that might be the reason it's back again.
I've had it for a while and it usually falls out or I take them out by coughing and gurgling etc. this time it feels more annoying.
(also, what can I do for my sore throat now?)

I hate how i can't seem to find any real information about tonsils. What are they like? What co they do? It's all just "they look like this, they work with the immune system, and if they bother you, we can take 'em out".
Like. I don't want to take them out?? They WORK?!? They do what they're SUPPOSED TO?!??
What do these people do if their fire alarm goes off? Remove the alarm?? And go back to sleep???
