Amazing that series 2 of Torchwood has some of the most depressing episodes I've ever seen in my life and yet it still isn't even the most depressing series of Torchwood

Another thing that makes me unwell about Janto is how in Adam, the final straw that makes Jack realise something is seriously wrong is Ianto confessing murder to him. Like, his secretive ass who never tells anyone anything revealing childhood trauma so painful he all but blocked the memory to a team member? -- sure, plausible, but Ianto knowingly harming people? No way. He believes in Ianto's inherent goodness so much it makes him question the evidence of his own senses.

Wait, did Adam even mess with Ianto's head (apart from making him know Adam) before Ianto found out so he made him think he was a murderer?

Jack had his memories as his 'extra' change thing. Tosh and Owen had their role reversals as their's. Gwen (possibly accidentally on Adam's part I imagine?) forgets about Rhys immediately.

But you know who had nothing else at the start of the episode?

IANTO FREAKING JONES.

I imagine canonically, Adam just underestimated him. Or maybe the writers felt like it would be too much with what happens to Ianto in the rest of the episode.

BUT STILL, WHY WAS IANTO LEFT ALONE??????

have you ever seen the torchwood episode Adam? same principle. harriet simply appeared out of the blue one morning, having altered every UNIT staff member’s memories to make them believe she’d always been head archivist of the magnus institute. who, harriet? what’s suspicious about her? she’s worked here for as long as i can remember. yeah, she’s lovely. smartest person i ever did meet. work ethic of a superstar. what? uncommon surname? don’t be ridiculous, my nan’s sister’s nephew’s wife’s maiden name was arbinger.

it’s not too far fetched to imagine that a herald of a godlike deity is capable of doing what a random alien with basic psychic manipulation abilities has achieved before. there are a lot of plot holes in TLORS, but this is not one of them.

A torchwood x my little pony AU has plagued my mind for so long, but I can't draw ponies. So what's the next best option? WRITING! So here's my discussion on what cutie marks the torchwood team (+ some others) would have.

Jack Harkness gained his cutie mark after he lost Gray. It's a red, slightly cracked heart to symbolise his love for the world but the fact he will lose it all. After being revived by Bad Wolf, it changed to a grey colour and each time he died the crack would spread just a little bit more. But it will never break. In the episode "Adam", the heart is bandaged up. During his days as a time agent and scammer he'd cover the mark with something different.

Owen Harper gained his cutie mark after being kicked out of home. It depicts an anatomically accurate heart being stabbed with a needle. It's what lead him to medical school and becoming a doctor, but really it's to show his bleeding heart for the people he cares for. After his revival, the heart was shriveled up and the needle filled with blood. In the episode "Adam", the needle is gone, instead replaced with a ribbon.

Toshiko Sato gained her cutie mark as a young girl. It's a computer mouse wrapped in binary code. It showcases her love and passion for computers, but also the fact she's trapped and betrayed by it. In the episode "Adam", it changes so the binary code hangs around the mouse.

Gwen Cooper gained her cutie mark after helping a group of older ponies as a child. It depicts a medal with a small heart in it, showing her insistence on helping anyone she can, no matter what may happen to her. In the episode "Adam", the medal changed to a trophy. In the episode "They Keep Killing Suzie", the colour slowly drained from the mark as Suzie took her life force.

Suzie Costello gained her cutie mark as a girl after discovering engineering. It depicts a wrench, covered in what was assumed to be rust, but would later be shown to actually be blood. In the episode "They Keep Killing Suzie", it started as grey and slowly gained back it's colour.

Ianto Jones gained his cutie mark in his teen years after being charged for shop lifting. It showed a question mark, shrouded in some form of fog or gas, depicting his untruthful nature as an impulsive liar. He claimed to be a Blank Flank, until the mark was revealed during Cyberwoman. In the episode "Adam", his mark changed to be completely covered by the fog. Later on, Adam would change it again to be a blood stained diary, after he convinces Ianto he was a serial killer.

The original Jack Harkness had a cowboy hat looped in a lasso as his cutie mark, having been raised in the south before the war and loving the rodeo.

Andy Davidson was a Blank Flank for most of his life before he met Norton Folgate. After this meeting, he found he now had a cutie mark depicting the Torchwood logo surrounded by a swirl, which he would later learn depicts the Time Vortex.

Norton Folgate was a young boy when he gained his cutie mark. It was a cross with a halo above it. He hated it, but came to accept it during the events of Torchwood: SoHo.

Adam's cutie mark depicted different things depending on who was looking, shaping and morphing to match the image that person had of him.

John Hart got his cutie mark a little later than Jack. It depicts a heart with two pistols crossed over it. Much like Jack, he would also cover it when taking on fake identities.

THANK YOU!! honestly im just happy to know that some else out there has a perfect music taste like me

but no really thats so nice to hear. i love making character playlists and, on the off chance i ever 'complete' one, sticking them somewhere for people to listen to. sometimes i just get these really vivid ideas of what they should sound like and then have to go hunting to find the right combination of songs in the right order... just all round very fun for me.

like owen was easy - he's this specific genre of uk indie rock. fast, loud, rocky, guitar twangy kinda stuff. sort of angsty but not completely? his is my favourite of the ones i made, and by far the easiest XD

then tosh - well okay so i wanted all the torchcrew to match somewhat so theyre all rock (plus i obviously use songs that i like so. rock XD) but i built hers around shes a rebel by greenday cos that is the tosh song to me, so hers skew slightly heavier

ianto! - honestly his feels slightly messy to me so it might get a bit of tweaking but for the most part i like it. reordering if anything. i do love plug in baby for him! it just fits so well in my head. and smile like you mean it. and michael! his playlist was build around michael, free, and they want to live forever... which was an intersting mix but i think i made it work (also can we spare a moment for the album hackney diamonds? what an album...)

gwen and jack i haven't finished yet. nor my overall torchwood one. ive got less of a singular vision for them. gwens got some sort of cohesion - for hers i know for sure itll have thnks fr th mmrs (feel like a twat typing it like that but its the name...) cos is there a better description for her than 'thanks for the memories even if they weren't so great'? then again i usually go off the feel of the song rather than the lyrics. jack.... now hes a mystery to me. angstier,, heavier,,, somethingier,,, overall torchwood is quite fun! kicks off with feel good inc of course

It's fascinating to me how much Jack prides himself in being the guy who can make the tough choices, who can pull the trigger when others squirm away, and yet the one quality he is drawn to in others above all else is compassion.
