i spent basically my entire day finishing out this scarlet file, catching all the once-per-file static spawns (minus snacksworth idc) and completing the dex instantly with my living dexes to get rareballs which i am currently trading to my main as i write this post lmao. it's just nice to have more legendaries but also some of the static spawns i only have one of and so if i actually want to use them i have to take them out of the living dex which is annoying and this should solve the issue. they're all in premier balls. not pictured is the meloetta i just caught (i forgot to earlier and then went back in to catch it. after i took the pic of the legendaries)

this is the file that permanently holds my walking wake raids and from now on it'll just have those two iron hands in the party ready to go, to swap one to another file and then do the raid together to catch more walking wake. i'm going to complete my iron leaves file in violet the same way but not tonight it is too time consuming and i am tired. that being said i did do the intro cutscenes for both DLCs and trade everything over to that file that i'll need so next time i can jump straight in with no prep

i don't actually NEED three terapagos (main and both of these files) etc but it would bother me if one of the files in this pair of files was finished and the other wasn't so i'll take the extra legends fsjdksfd

oh my god i never told you guys abt my disaster twins competitive pkmn players concept. one sec ill put it under a cut for you bc this might get long lmao

so basically. gen 9 came out, and the boys, in their recent-switch glory, were like omg hell yes. game time. donnie and leo both get violet and mikey and raph both get scarlet (theyve got their own games bc they would tear each other apart if they had to share physical copies trust me) and generally trade around exclusives and chill etc etc. also while im on this leo picks quaxly, mikey is a toss up between fuecoco and quaxly, raph picks fuecoco obvs, and donnie picks sprigatito, as does april when she gets her own copy of violet later (which she honestly only chose for the loyalty points lmao she likes karaidon better)

anyways i was saying. donnie is one of those nerds who like perfectly iv trains his normal ass in-game team and builds perfect compositions around typings and looks up the gyms types n stuff and he was SO excited when he learned abt tera types and how they impacted team comps

leo on the other hand has the messiest type crossover and team comp EVER but still manages to thrash his opponents bc he uses really good movesets and strategies

the twins get into watching competitive videos while they play violet in silence together (hashtag parallel play) until donnie eventually starts commenting on weird stat spreads and leo eventually bursts out about shitty move choices and weird sets, or leo starts showing donnie videos abt odd pkmn getting high in latters, and then they start watching showdown battles...

and they lightbulb.

donnie loves building teams more than anything else, loves making them efficient as humanly possible.

leo loves showing the potential of odd pokemon and would kill for a good strategic challenge after all this time (hes been protecting against nemona and using electroweb against gym leaders, poor guy).

and, well, its not like you need anything special to get on the ladder in violet...

they start out simple, donnie building a basic team and leo reviewing it before going at the basic gen 9 ladders.

they kind of wreck house.

they just start going at the ladders with that team in their free time, then a different one when they get bored, then one with a few oddballs when donnie decides to ask leo what pokemon he wants to use, then they get kind of bored of just paldean pokemon so donnie gets to work understanding showdown...

but while its fun, they dont have anyone to brag to, because their brothers have no fucking clue what theyre talking about.

donnie has experience with youtube, right?

so they set up a little joint thing; a channel called disasterx2, no webcam, just videos about ladder battles. they end up specializing both in unique teams and movesets and in just vids about breaking down walls in ladders with a normal team. what makes both nifty is that donnie explains the whole team comp in a separate video to the battles, and the aesthetic quality is improved by donnies sensibilities and mikeys input (he was absolutely excited when they asked him to help with it. leo was no help. so much offense, actually, i have a feeling his fashion sense is good but the moment you try to make him make something look good visually on its own hes screwed.), and leos strategies are batshit, and ofc the boys are the boys, they go on tangents sometimes when they do real-time audio during battles and sometimes they just. dont cut them out. raph and mikey make guest appearances sometimes, april cheers them on on occasion, her and raph are very relieved bc its finally something non destructive they can spend their time on, its all great.

leo very often picks pokemon and movesets out and then donnie provides the pokemon (through breeding and stat spread tweaking, because god knows hed love that nerd shit). donnie likes it because 1. how leo uses those outlier pokemon is very interesting and 2. it gives him an opportunity to think about how to apply the right stats, natures, etc to apply to the pokemon and moves leo chose.

one of my favorite ever headcanons is that leo gets quiet when he focuses. like, dead quiet, and terrifyingly quiet. hes well known in their fandom for being very chatty over voiceover and then pretty quiet whenever hes playing challenging battles. donnie doesnt understand the strategies all that well so when leo gets too focused he just talks a lot abt the stat spreads and they add extra text to the video lmao. sometimes they utilize their clueless family members to have them ask questions they wouldnt have considered due to their knowledge in videos, sometimes donnie snags mikey while leos too quiet when theyre doing real-time audio, etc the fam knows theyre just glad theyre having fun

- I’m 20 years old, so I need to be shipped with an adult. I personally headcanon Arven and Nemona as adults, so please keep that in mind

- I work as a librarian and enjoy writing, drawing and baking. I’d probably be working as a student library worker at Naranja Academy in this scenario. I LOVE researching things and am a huge nerd in general

- I’m 4’ 10” tall (so crazy short, 147 cm) with a slender and toned figure, long fluffy brown hair and glasses. My style switches between masculine and feminine a lot, and I tend to wear unusual but cute outfits

- I’m Autistic and Disabled with stuff like scoliosis, lightheadedness (I faint a lot :/), breathing issues, weak bones and chronic pain in my hands, back and hips

- I have a very good sense of humor. I love making people laugh!!!

- I’m very goal-driven (especially while playing video games) and love training my pokemon to get stronger. I love story-driven games that let me fulfill objectives lol

- My friends say I have warm, inviting vibes that make people feel at home. I love comforting people and am quite good at it! I rarely if ever get mad at anyone or anything. The first thing that made me choose him was the height difference, I'm ngl! I headcanon that Arven is at least close to 6ft, not quite there but he's definitely taller. (I'm a sucker for height differences LMAO) Anyways! Arven is a carin' guy, and even if he kinda struggles with his anger a bit he's still the sweetest person you can meet when you get to know him. He's a bit of a mess too, but that's not something you can't handle! - When you first meet, it's after Arven graduates (finally) and begins working as a substitute for Naranja! I hc that he becomes one of the teachers in the future, so this is his lil' head start into that. - It's quite a mess when you two meet... Literally, this guy manages to knock everything over- And you're just- So nice about it... - Arven can't help the way his heartbeat quickens when you two meet. You're so sweet but... You've got this aura that just tells him you're ready for it all. - And after you two meet, Arven keeps going to the library to see you. He's a goof, and you seem to enjoy his company... And he really likes talking to you. You know so much!! And he can't help but look up to ya for how you reach your goals. - When you guys finally go on a date, the entire faculty knows how much he likes ya- He's like a puppy and it's so obvious - Anyways... Picnic date is the first thing! He plans on cooking for you, but when you show up with baked goods... Holy shit that's it for him, you're a keeper - You guys have a super cute relationship, but you also definitely help each other. Arven helps you take up for yourself more, and he makes sure that you realize how important you truly are. He's a bit stubborn over you putting yourself first LMAO - You two get into shenanigans, little jokes with other staff... And sometimes it'll make a mess, the staff does find it endearing. I also had a Marill, a second Capsakid, a second Rookidee and Scream Tail. And another one I forgot because shortly after I catched it, I traded it away in Wondertrade xD same with the Marill.

The Capsakid went to Electronic Stars for the Noivern, my Sister got the Rookidee and LoumunVersen got ScreamTail :3 Apis is also a Shiny Tauros lmao

My brief thots on each gen of pokemom games.

GEN1: I actually do not like the kanto region since it has nothing interesting. it’s where the series began so i can’t say much beyond the fact that i have 0 nostalgia for it. lmao

GEN2: I have nostalgia for it cause of old magazines i used to read at the time. I love Celebi and I do think that the johto region tried to incorporate the mons into the region.

GEN3: Emerald was my 1st pokemon game but my dumbass couldnt read english at the time so idk i had to collect the gym badges ASKDOASKD (i wasnt that into the cartoon, sorry). Despite that, I also have 0 nostalgia for it. :/ ALTHOUGH, I do think hoenn is a nice lil region full of lil nooks and crannyes to explore. there’s also this... ‘esoteric’ feeling regarding someplaces (gen2 had some of it too, but hoenn just nailed it lmao). There’s also the gen1 remakes but... again, i do think kanto is boring in whatever incarnation it chooses to come out of.

GEN4: I dislike everything about the Sinnoh region... I’M SOO SORRY. I actually skipped emulating those until like... 2017. Platinum fixed pearl and diamond but the region was soooo bland and uninspiring... The GEN2 remakes on the other hand... I *DO* have nostalgia for those since it’s the 1st pokemon game i was able to finish. +It was a really well done remake, adding lots and lots of new fun stuff.

GEN5: People hate it but i love when franchises try something new. I loved gen5. i loved the new animated sprites too. I also liked that B/W chose to not have any of the past mons show up. that was a bold move. B2/W2 just took what the last games left and made them better!

GEN6: Kalos is... my sinnoh, all over again. i like the monsters, but uuh... this region sucks. it’s bland and barely looks french aopsdkopas I *DID* love the GEN3 remakes tho!

GEN7: I LOVED SUN AND MOON TO BITS!! Despite the hand-holding and... long winded cutscenes that said nothing with 30mins of dialogue lmao. It was a very fun region, full of my favs pokemon EVER + the aether foundation was nice! Then USUM came out and I guess playing through the games again made its flaws even more apparent. I say this cause I got FATIGUE from this game. I pirated it days before it released but only played it on day one (back in 2017). then I got tired and finished it when the pandemic hit in 2020. Also, I skipped Let’sgo Pikachu/Eevee cause it was kanto AGAIN and this time in an even worse format lmaaao

GEN8: :S Sword and shield were... bland... like the food it’s region is based off. I finished it in 2020 too, cause my bf bought his switch and we didnt have that much games to play lmao. I have NO memories of this game whatsoever... I played it mostly to finish my living dex (and im still missing zarude :/). We also ksipped the gen4 remakes cause they look horrible and are and 1:1 remake. so... not worth it lmao. NOW, regarding legends arceus, my bf LOVED it. I didn’t cause it didnt have a very good map design + teh game is kinda hideous lmao. Forced my way through it to finish my living dex and I wasn’t even able to complete the game. i just traded them off online later on.

GEN9: they fixed the catching aspect of the game, which is like... the main reason i play those games. look, im a kleptomaniac when it comes to pokemon and I REALLY gotta catch em all or ELSE. Anyways, catching and completing the pokedex is soooooo fun. The games still has technical issues but honestly. it is what it is. my bf has scarlet and i chose violet solely cause i prefer the uniform. but i’m playing both version at the same time cause um unhinged (and i’m still having fun!).

which one do i prefer? ooooh thats a tough question. honestly i won't know for sure until i finish legends arceus I think. which, might take a while because theres like a hundred side quests and ofc my completionist ass needs to do them all 😭 story-wise, I'd have to go with sv right now, but that may change.

I always lean towards grass starters so i can't help ya there :,) the quaxly line is incredibly goofy looking imo & there's no shame in going with what the heart wants, even if it differs from your usual choice - i ended up going with cyndaquil in legends instead of rowlet!

i hadn't shiny hunted very often before sv, but when i did i had incredible odds 😅 like i tried chain fishing and the very first mon i pulled up was shiny. got pretty lucky hatching snivy eggs too iirc. but i could never get the hang of chaining, the grass shakes always looked exactly the same to me 💀

yes! xy is peak pokemon fashion. i bought so many clothes in that game lmao. legends arceus has some neat clothes but they're mostly just reskins of the same few designs that I've seen, so far.

no spoilers, that i can do! but imo it's really heartwarming and a little heartbreaking too. there's this one character i disliked at first, but over time they grew on me like a mold (affectionate). in terms of the l:a story, you have a god given quest to catch em all & you kinda just solve everybody else's problems along the way, it seems.

if you are interested in getting scarlet or violet, definitely look at the version exclusives because they've got some cool late game mons. i like the scarlet ones better than violet but i wanted my pretty knight lmao. i just traded my exclusives for my boyfriend's & it all worked out :]

the last game I played was sumo but i stopped after beating the 1st gym 😅 been thinking about going back and playing through some older games since i do have em all on my 3ds now...
