OC Templates Batch 1
(Hopefully nothing goes wrong this time, 2nd attempt at posting, I am so sorry)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you @the-witch-of-one-piece for sharing the “My OC as…” template with me for anyone who’d like to do it, the template is HERE & you can use programs like Procreate, Clip Studio, Photoshop, or Photopea (which is free) to do it!
In order are Michelle, the Trafalgar kids (as adults: Ross, Lamia, Lukas), and Vincent’s. Finding songs was hard, as I was debating whether to put the kids’ favorite Vietnamese lullaby Michelle would sing them as infants or the songs they currently have, & I went with the latter. Song links below:
Killing My Dreams - Elysion
Souretsu - breakin’ holiday
Ngay Mua Tuyet - Anh Minh
Waiting On the Sky to Change - Starset ft. Breaking Benjamin
Point of No Return - ARIA

EDGELORD BATTLE BRACKET 2024: ROUND 2
Tumblr media
Propaganda:
Law:
Look at this man. He listens to Mcr on repeat. Has the happiest most adorable crew in the world and still looks like a 2005 scene queen. Eyeliner for days. Definitely cried when Ryan Ross left patd. This man is constantly pretending that he hates everyone and everything but has an alliance with the most sunshine boy in the world. Wears his dead adoptive father's symbol on his back for the drama. Only wears black. Eyeliner for days. Mikey Way coded in that he constantly looks like a shivering wet Chihuahua.
A deadly surgeon who lost his entire town to the paranoia of the elite, and then lost his surrogate father to a cruel reflection of those elite. Became a pirate to get his revenge. Only problem? He’s the only serious person in a circus of a sea. Watching him deal with the Straw Hats is a delight.
He's basically the shadow the hedgehog of one piece, aka the egdy boy with a tragic backstory most fans have a crush on. Hes covered in tattoos, including two knuckle tatts that both say "DEATH". His fearsome pirate nicknames are "The Surgeon of Death" and "Dr. Heart stealer". Constant undereye bags/eyeliner(?) (I think its both). He spends almost all of his time pre-timeskip looking smug and mysterious and half his screentime post-time skip getting his shit kicked in (heaving, bloody, on the floor <3). Hes WAY over serious all the time which is why its so fun to see the silly strawhat crew interact with him
Fakir:
He did a blood sacrifice with his own blood for no known reason. If that isn't edgy I don't know what is.

Two ‘expeditions’ of my own in recent weeks have taken me out of the unbearabe heat of an unusually searing summer sun into the cool, air-conditioned enclaves of, first London’s National Portrait Gallery and secondly, Greenwich’s National Maritime Museum.
The Portraits
In the Victorian Gallery of the Portrait Gallery, among many representations of  influential men and women of that era, I discovered the following remarkably similar portraits by Stephen Pearce (1819-1904): the one on the left is of Sir Robert McClure R.N. (1807-1873); the one on the right is of Sir Francis Leopold McClintock R.N. (1819-1907).
McClure
McClintock
McClure joined the Royal Navy in 1824, made his first Arctic voyage in 1836-37, and played a prominent role in the search for the lost Franklin expedition of 1845. He was rewarded by Parliament for being the first to traverse the elusive and much sort after North West Passage – albeit he did so partly on foot – in 1854, and survived a Court Martial for abandoning his ships to serve in China and ultimately be promoted to Vice-Admiral in 1873.
McClintock joined the Royal Navy in 1831 and made his first Arctic voyage in 1848, just as concerns for the fate of the 1845 expedition were beginning to be raised. He commanded the 1857-59 expedition that discovered the Victory Point Record, among other relics and artefacts, that eventually proved the loss of Franklin and his entire crew of 129 men. Knighted in 1860, McClintock continued to command Royal Navy voyages until his retirement in 1884.
Also of interest in relation to this project, are these plaster medallions – created by Bernard Smith (1820-1885) – of (on the left) Sir John Richardson R.N. (1787-1865) and (on the right) Sir James Clark Ross R.N. (1800-1862).
Richardson had accompanied Sir John Franklin on two Arctic voyages, in 1819 and 1825, and in 1847 he led the first of the expeditions sent in search of the misssing 1845 expedition. Richardson also wrote a magnificent biographical entry on Franklin for the eighth volume of Encyclopaedia Britannica, published in February 1856, and it was reading this tribute that inspired Charles Dickens to say (in a letter to John Forster, dated March 1856)
I think Richardson’s manly friendship and love of Franklin, one of the noblest things I ever knew in my life. It makes ones heart beat high, with a sort of sacred joy.
(Dickens (vol 8), 1993, p. 66)
Dickens drew on this ‘manly friendship and love’ to develop the characters of Richard Wardour and Frank Aldersley when working with Wilkie Collins on their Arctic drama The Frozen Deep (see Brannon, 1966) and subsequently when creating the character of Sydney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities.
But I digress onto a pet subject! Sir James Clark Ross R.N.  – represented by the right-hand medallion above – is credited with discovering Magnetic North in 1831, commanded an expedition to the Antarctic in 1839-43, and led an Arctic expedition in search of Franklin in 1848-49. His uncle, John Ross, was also an Arctic explorer but fell out of favour with the Admiralty after turning-back on an expedition because he had seen a ‘mountain range’ that it later transpired was an hallucination caused by weather conditions.
This portrait of Sir Edwin Landseer also caught my eye, especially as I had just had lunch in Trafalgar Square watching a group of young Italian tourists clambering all over the finished lions. Here they are shown alongside their designer and creator in his workshop. Landseer, of course, was renowned from an early age for his represenations of wildlife and animals, among which is his only Arctic painting ‘Man Proposes, God Disposes’, which I featured in my first blog post in November 2017.
The Songs
At the National Maritime Museum, at an event organised in partnership with another of my favourite institutions The English Folk Dance and Song Society, I discovered a little of the history and lyrics of songs associated with Dr. John Rae, the Orkney-born Arctic explorer and Hudson’s Bay Company Factor who caused outrage in mid-century Victorian England by implying that the men of the lost Franklin expedition may have resorted to cannibalism. He had strong evidence to prove this, and science has more recently confirmed his findings, but he was derided and disbelieved in his own time and denied the honours and recognition that he deserved – again I digress to a favourite pet subject, and shall post more about this I suspect during, and/or following, my visit to Rae’s homeland in October this year.
As for the songs, there was one I was already familiar with as it is still sung regularly in Folk Clubs and at other traditional music sessions around the UK today. Called Lady Franklin’s Lament it has, like most songs that have been passed down through the oral folk tradition, many different versions of varying length.  Waltz and Engle, writing in 2015, state that “Broadside versions [of this ballad] probably date from the period 1850-1853”.
The version we learnt at the workshop was entitled Lady Franklin’s Lament for her Husband.  Longer than the commonly sung, more recent, versions it was sourced through both the Glasgow and Edinburgh Broadside Ballad Collections by the workshop’s co-ordinator, Orkney folk singer Aimee Leonard. In common with all versions, however, it tells the tale of a sailor dreaming that he’s heard “a female” who “can take no rest” weeping aloud that
Ten thousand pounds would I freely give, To say on earth that my husband do live.
The female is, of course, Franklin’s wife, Jane, who did offer rewards of £2000 and £3000 in March 1848 and March 1849 respectively, but not of as much as £10,000; maybe there is some poetic licence here. Nevertheless, Lady Franklin’s rewards were no doubt an incentive that preyed on the mind of many a poor sailor searching the Arctic seas for the lost expedition, and their exaggeration of the amount – or their conflation of it with larger rewards offered by the Government – is understandable.
The second song, Lament for Francis Crozier, was written in 2001 by Irish singer, mountaineer and polar explorer Frank Nugent whilst sailing near King William Island in a ship called the Northabout.  Francis Crozier had met, and fallen in love with, Franklin’s wife’s niece, Sophia Cracroft, when his ships called at Van Diemen’s Land (VDL; renamed Tasmania in 1856) during a voyage to Antarctica in the 1830s. Franklin was then Governer of VDL and entertained the Officers of the ships on which Crozier was serving – coincidentally, these were the same two ships, The Erebus and The Terror, on which Franklin sailed to the Arctic in 1845 with Crozier as his second-in-command. Crozier saw this voyage as his great chance to impress Sophia and thus win her heart, and her hand in marriage.  Sadly, as we know, this was not to be, and indeed it is likely that it never could have been.  Instead, Crozier was forced to take command of the expedition when Franklin died in 1847 (we know this because of the Victory Point Record I mentioned earlier) and he himself perished, we know not how, along with all the men under his command. As the song concludes:
Oh, what hardship and pain, did your poor seamen suffer … … you starved on the banks of Back’s Great Fish River The [North West] Passage it led you to heaven’s green shore.
Song 3 came from a collection of Songs of the North printed on board HMS Assistance during her 1850-51 expedition in search of Franklin. One of the ways in which crews entertained themselves during long lingering months stuck amid Arctic ice was to put on theatre shows and HMS Assistance was, at this time, home to The Royal Arctic Theatre – just as their compatriots aboard HMS Resolute in 1850-51 were home to the periodical newspaper The Illustrated Arctic News, a parody of London’s Illustrated London News, established in 1842.
Song 3, then, was sung at the closing of The Royal Arctic Theatre on 4th March 1851 by Lieutenant R.D.Aldrich R.N. and it opens with a plea to:
Come cheer up my lads! the season draws near When all wish to strive, nor care where they steer, …
whilst its chorus avows that:
Our hearts are all stout, and our motto shall be, Ready! aye ready! Ready! aye ready! To rescue our comrades from dire misery.
Dire misery indeed! But admirable sentiments with which to reinvigorate cold, hungry men suffering a multitude of minor ailments after a winter stuck in Arctic ice that was now abating and allowing their ships to move on.
Conclusions
These songs and portraits tell us much of the character and spirit of the men who ventured, literally, to the ends of the earth in order to advance geographic and scientific knowledge. They represent in words and pictures the images that their subjects and masters wanted the public to hear and see; images of men who could conquer the bleak wilderness of the Arctic and remain true to the gentlemanly ideals of the British establishment; images a nation’s ability to withstand everything the world could throw at it; images, ultimately, of arrogance and intransigence in the face of all circumstance.

Christian Slater returns to the West End as smooth talking sales shark Ricky Roma, in David Mamet’s cult classic Glengarry Glen Ross. Alongside A Killer Sales Team: Robert Glenister as Dave Moss, Kris Marshall as John Williamson, Stanley Townsend as Shelley ‘The Machine’ Levene and Don Warrington as George Aaronow.
Christian Slater (Mr Robot, True Romance, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), Robert Glenister (Hustle, Spooks), Kris Marshall (Death in Paradise, Love Actually, My Family), Stanley Townsend (Girl from the North Country, The Nether) and Don Warrington (Death in Paradise, Rising Damp) are the ‘deal chasing’ cut-throat sales team in David Mamet’s masterpiece, Glengarry Glen Ross.
This trailblazing modern classic, directed by Sam Yates, runs at the Playhouse Theatre from 26 October to 3 February 2018 for a strictly limited 14-week season. The play has won every major dramatic award on both sides of the Atlantic, making it an extraordinary theatrical success story. Its sensational world premiere at the National Theatre in 1983, earned it the Olivier Award for Best Play, whilst its 1984 Broadway premiere garnered multiple Tony Award nominations and just a year later, it won the Pulitzer Award for Drama. In 1992 the play was adapted by Mamet into an Academy Award nominated film featuring an all-star cast including Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin, Kevin Spacey and Jonathan Pryce.
At a time of fierce debate about the American Dream and what it represents, Glengarry Glen Ross is a lacerating satire for modern society, highlighting how economic austerity can affect the morality and greed of individuals under financial pressure.
Glengarry Glen Ross is produced by ATG Productions, Act Productions and Glass Half Full Productions.
Lies. Greed. Corruption. It’s business as usual. Set in an office of cut-throat Chicago salesmen. Pitched in a high-stakes competition against each other, four increasingly desperate employees will do anything, legal or otherwise, to sell the most real estate. As time and luck start to run out, the mantra is simple: close the deal and you’ve won a Cadillac; blow the lead and you’re f****d.
Christian Slater (Ricky Roma) is an internationally acclaimed actor who recently won a Golden Globe and Critic’s Choice award for his role in Mr Robot, for which he is also a producer.
He was last on the London stage in Swimming with Sharks at the Vaudeville Theatre and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at the Gielgud/Garrick Theatre. His other stage credits include Spamalot at the Hollywood Bowl and The Glass Menagerie, opposite Jessica Lange, on Broadway.

Affirming a Little Miracle
Tumblr media
A/N: Whenever health is at a low, my inner Victorian writing motivation comes out 😂 I thought to finish this piece I started at the dentist's yesterday, as I was feeling a little sentimental about the period where Ross was born in my self-ship story. Oh! and an advance thank you to those who read this! ❤️🌹
WC: 1,408 Warnings: Baby, children, mentions of pregnancy/postpartum
Phytoplankton make the twinkling twilight that trickled into the Polar Tang’s portholes, in place of holiday lights that many enjoyed ashore. New Years was a few days away and a good number of Hearts opted to stay up into the late hours preparing for celebrations and brainstorming resolutions that may or may not be successfully fulfilled. However, they were mindful to keep the clamor and ruckus to a minimum, knowing that their captain and strategist were resting from another day of caring for their week-old infant.
“Ross grabbed my finger today. I think that means I’m his favorite uncle!” Shachi proudly declared, unaware that the smug sparkles surrounding him were visible to the crewmates.
Ikkaku lightly scoffed, “You kept poking his cheek, so that was probably his way of telling his ‘favorite uncle’ to stop bothering him.”
“Hey, now listen here—”
“Didn’t Ross immediately let go after seeing Captain enter the room and started fussing to be picked up? It’s like he wanted his dad to get away,” Penguin snickered.
“Not you too…” Shachi scowled, before Bepo brought a finger to his lips in a chiding gesture.
“Shhhh! You’ll wake them, guys!”
Unbeknownst to them, their captain was well awake in his quarters, but for a different reason.
An urge akin to a child needing to go back into the cookie jar for seconds, roused Law from sleep to look at his new baby. A smile crosses the surgeon’s features beholding his newborn son sleeping soundly in the little bassinet saturated in pure undisturbed innocence. Law quietly gasped and the world stood still when the babe cooed from the depths of bonny dreams his mother weaved for him. Nothing was sufficient to describe the overwhelming love washing over him in continuous waves looking at his small son, and in that moment, he thought of Cora-san and wondered if this feeling was the ‘love,’ that drove him to save Law as a child years ago, despite all odds. It must surely have been that same feeling, if not further amplified, because when he reached down to wipe a little drool from the corner of his son’s mouth and looked at the woman who began shifting in their bed at the absence of his warmth, he knew that he’d give anything and everything to protect what he had.
“Mein schatz…are you having trouble sleeping?” Michelle groggily props herself on her elbows. Her expression changed from concern to delight, seeing Law kneeling beside Ross, like a sentinel…or a father who couldn’t get enough of his child.
“No, not at all,” he whispers, returning to their bed with a kiss to the heart of her palm, “It might sound crazy, but I was making sure this family…our family wasn’t just a dream.”
A content sigh escapes Michelle, accompanying her fingers that tenderly traced her husband’s features in the darkness. “Only the mad can make miracles happen…and we’re both a little on that scale,” she laughs in quiet confidence as to not wake their baby, “I can confirm as the Dream Reaver that this isn’t a dream and that Ross’ cuteness isn’t either.”
Busted. But maybe it wasn’t a surprise, since the couple spent the past week doting on their newborn and using any opportunity to get a glance of Ross and his chubby alabaster cheeks. The baby took after his father in terms of looks, save for the beauty mark under his left eye, but the spirit of wonder that colored his eyes whenever he’d glance around the world in piqued curiosity was characteristic of his mother.
“Good to have your confirmation,” Law lightly grins, settling himself under the blankets to wrap his arms around his wife from behind, “Funny that the Dream Reaver stole a dream I buried deep inside of me and yanked it into reality.”
“I don’t only look into dreams to conjure nightmares, you know. Remember, you gave me permission to explore your mind, so it wasn’t a violent yank,” she hums, causing him to bury his face into her shoulder to contain a laughter welling in his chest.
“How could I forget?” Law remarks in bemused sarcasm, before pondering a question he had for some time, “Did you anticipate being the one to bring what you saw in me into reality?”
The investigator opened her mouth, then closed it, wishing to find the right words and mode of expression to her husband’s question. She looked into an undefined indigo space, softly smiling when she heard her son yawn, before her feelings put themselves in line for her to express.
“At first…I observed people’s dreams strictly as a watcher. I never thought that I’d directly play a part in being someone’s dream. Until I grew close to you,” Michelle whispers with vulnerable honesty, reflecting Law in her eyes, “Before I knew it, despite trying to not to get my hopes up, I wanted to be a part of your life and I will always be thankful that you let me in.”
The luminescence of the deep outside the submarine intensified in both variety and color, being further submerged, but the couple could only focus on how the gentle light illuminated their slumbering baby.
“I should be telling you that, Mi Xao…for trusting me and loving me for us to get to this point,” the surgeon murmurs, entwining their fingers together that laid outstretched towards the bassinet. Faint music, most likely from the crew experimenting with a playlist for New Years, began reaching their room and something about the peaceful stillness made Law beckon Michelle to turn her head to face him, so he could kiss her. It was gentle and it was tender, as if whatever gratitude they could not express was dropped in every peck and cherished caress.
“Law…you are going to make me selfish for you, if you keep spoiling me like this throughout my postpartum stages. I want to set a good example for our baby,” Michelle jokes in between meeting her lips with his.
Law only sighed and continued his affectionate assault on his wife’s lips, before moving his barrages around her face, “It’s my recommendation, as your doctor, that you spend as much time with me as possible, so you can fully recover. You don’t have to feel guilty about being selfish, anyways. I’d rather you be more selfish when it comes to us, because I won’t let you or Ross go for anything. It’s always been you and has to be you.”
A long breath escapes Michelle, as the cathartic joy of her husband’s words and caresses penetrated and warmed her heart. Turning in Law’s embrace so she could face him, the investigator wrapped her slender arms around his neck and whispered a piece of her wedding vows into his ear, “It will never be anyone else, but you, that I entrust my life and heart to,” which instinctively moved him strengthened his grip on her hand.
Somewhere between touches of affirmation and whispered conversations, the pair fell asleep again, until Ross began to fuss a little before dawn, feeling quite hungry for his mother’s milk, which Michelle was more than glad to oblige, despite a little grogginess. Thankfully, Law made sure to prepare their room with baby items and have a towel on hand, so after Ross finished feeding, he immediately picked the infant up to burp him, so he wouldn’t have any pain or discomfort in his stomach later on.
Michelle giggled hearing the little ‘urp,’ from her son and remarked to Law that it seemed that Ross didn’t so far adopt her old habit of throwing up while being burped, which made her husband sigh in relief, but told her not to jinx it.
Ross seemed to still be awake after feeding with a wish to cuddle with his parents, so Law and Michelle opted to have him lay with them, atop of his mother, with his father’s protective hand on the small of his back.
“We make a good team don’t we?” the investigator smiled at her husband.
“We always have,” the surgeon grinned, with a peck to her nose.
Ross seemed to affirm that assertion with a little gurgle of his own, causing his parents to almost break from the sheer adorableness. So long as he was a content baby, he’d continue to agree with his parents, and fortunately, Law and Michelle did everything in their power to make sure that he was well taken care of.

I felt it’s been awhile since I drew the little ones & this is something fun depicting them with an object related to their future trade ❤️🌹
If you look closely at the jolly roger, the motif in the back depicts 3 roses as a nod to their mother & coincidentally alludes to the 3 of them. And yes, their names are sewn on their clothes & there is some custom-embroidery going on for them, given how their parents are 😂
Am I jumping from epic to wholesome art in 1 day? Yes

After a week I finished this kissing meme! The template is by 2sisters34 on DeviantArt found HERE if anyone is interested in doing their own :)
Tumblr media
🌹Descriptions Below:
-“Kiss on the Forehead” depicts a non-offensive use of Belle Rêve to alleviate night terrors & provide someone pleasant dreams. This was a few months after Law collected himself to ask Michelle to help him with nightmares of his past that had been plaguing him the whole week. That night, she was able to look into a part of his memories through his dreams, but unfortunately, she ruefully tells him she could not necessarily erase them from occurring, as they are connected to memories, which are out of her abilities at the time. They have a vulnerable heart-to-heart opening up about their pasts, and let go of repressed emotions that night. That was a major point that brought them closer together and gradually over time, with her help using her abilities and being someone he could confide in and chat about whatever is on his mind, his night terrors became less frequent.
-“Kiss on the Nose” is Christmas week, when Ross is born. He is being swaddled in a polar bear blanket as Michelle wears a dress possessing a textile native to her hometown.
-“Kiss On the Eye” is an illustration from a private scenario back in September I wrote/drew in my sketchbook. Michelle, being frustrated and infuriated from a build up of events, isolates herself in the library, watching sea creatures from the window to breathe, until Law finds her. Upon asking her what’s wrong, she shakes her head, insisting she’s fine, but knowing her better than that, Law approaches, puts his hat on her, & pulls her to him, telling her it’s ok to let it out, since no one is there except for the two.
-“Kiss on the Lips” is the 1st time the Heart Pirates see their Captain & their strategist kissing (the 1st kiss was in the privacy of his room while reading his comics). This takes place after the 2 find eachother safe after evacuating & regrouping from destroying a government-ran hospital used as an inbetween to traffic people and old artifacts from decimated towns/islands.

💙A capture of the Dec. 23rd when Ross was born
💙 His 1st lullaby would be Maria durch ein’ Dornwald ging (Mary Walks Through a Wood of Thorns)—a song that holds deep memories for his father, as he was born near Christmas Day (Rosi most definitely saved this moment in his album & laminated it @jazminetoad 😂)

EDGELORD BATTLE BRACKET 2024: ROUND 1, PART 2

Trafalgar D. Ross Profile
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Trafalgar D. Ross (Rosinante)
Birthday: December 23rd
Height: 6'4" (adult)
Favorite Foods: Clam Chowder, Pida, Lam Cheong (Chinese Sausage)
Least Favorite Food: Tripe
Occupation (Aside from Piracy): Investigator taking after his mother's trade. Onboard researcher
Hobbies: Reading mysteries, playing with his mother's finger-duster, reenacting book/comic/show scenes with his father, watching Sora and Octonauts, playing in the Dreamscape, practicing martial arts with his father, solving hidden object games and riddles, etc.
Abilities:
All 3 Haki
Talents for Finding Things & Looking at Many Perspectives
Krav Maga
Affinity for teaching others things
Shuang Jian (double straight sword style)
Nagi-Nagi no Mi (Rosinante’s devil fruit); Ross unlocks it’s combative assests on top it’s espionage abilities, as ‘silencing’ could extend to ‘silencing’ the nerve signals in an opponent. When worked in conjunction with the Ope-Ope or Yume-Yume no Mi or imbued within his jian-swords, it can be lethal
Appearance: Ross takes after Law in looks with his sharp features and steel gray eyes, save for a beauty mark under his left eye. As an adult, he has 3/4 part bangs and black shoulder length hair that is layered to frame his face.
Personality: He takes more after Michelle in this respect, with being the first one to step in and clarify the bigger picture for people. He is calm, inquisitive, but also extremely imaginative and often creates imaginary scenarios for he and his siblings, Lamia and Lukas, to play with. At times, he would rather help or orchestrate things from the shadows, but will internally blush if his efforts are acknowledged. He deeply cares for his siblings, although he can be stiff with people he does not yet fully know; however he has a kind heart and honors even the most mundane clover on the floor. As a child, he is very curious and likes to make tokens for people he cares about, whether it be a bouquet or a drawing. There are times when his eyes light up with adrenaline and bloodlust in an intense situation, and in those instances he adopts his mother’s knowing grin and his father’s exacting style in combat. At times, when he feels inclined to play along with conversations or making comebacks, he has a lot of quips and snark he learned from his parents and Michelle’s novels that can win him any flyting game or end any argument. More often than not, he is the listening shoulder for his siblings and they deeply care for him too.

Parent's Commentary
M: Our eldest child becomes everyone's big brother to whomever he meets, although he can be aloof. He truly was a blessing to my and Law's lives after the incident at Hairong, my hometown, and we love him with all of our hearts. He was a miracle that showed us that after everything we've been through with our dead ends of fate, we were able to create something even more powerful than any 'ROOM' or 'Dreamscape' we can make. I still think about how he gathered Lamia and Lukas by the windows and started teaching them about the ocean and creatures that lived out there. He is such a great storyteller too, that the kids often come to me asking if I could make whatever was in Ross’ imagination in my Dreamscape for them to play in.
L: I never thought that I would make it this far to find someone who I could share my life with, no less having a child. A pirate's life is dangerous and I was...afraid...to lose something precious to me again, but seeing how Michelle was just as determined to protect what we had, I knew I wouldn't want anyone else to have a family with. Delivering Ross was momentous for me and I'll never forget the first time he wrapped his fingers on mine. It was like I was seeing Cora-san again after so long. Growing up, he often imitates my and Michelle’s calls for our devil fruit fields and asked when he could get his own devil fruit so he could protect the Heart Pirates like us (chuckles). Michelle and I were at first alarmed, but seeing how much he wanted one, we taught him the consequences of having one and the different types out there. Who knew that he would inherit Cora-san’s fruit. (gently smiles) And he uses it to help his younger siblings sleep when the have trouble.

Trafalgar D. Lamia Profile
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Trafalgar D. Lamia
Birthday: September 5th
Height: 5’7” (adult)
Favorite Foods: Gyros, croissants, udon
Least Favorite Food: Taro
Occupation (Aside from Piracy): Doctor taking after her father’s trade. Onboard surgical assistant
Hobbies: Reading Law’s medical journals and books, playing with Ross (who she called ‘Ro’ as a toddler), collecting stamps from each island, sewing, running ‘diagnostics’ for the crew & her mother to ‘report’ back to her dad, sparring with her brothers, practicing applying game theory with her mother, tea parties with her stuffed plague doctor, snow leopard plush, and her family, studying about history and fantastical creatures
Abilities:
All 3 Haki
Krav Maga
Medical savvy allows for healing & precise striking
Can quickly understand maps and structures
Adept at using the liuye dao (willow-leaf saber)
Appearance: Lamia possesses Law’s nose and eye shape. She had gold amber eyes and has Michelle’s lips. Like both of her parents, she has black hair, which falls slightly above her waist with the front framing her face in a layered semi hime-cut.
Personality: As a child, Lamia was quite timid and could be found shyly holding Ross’ hand or hiding behind him when meeting new people; however, she slowly grew into her confidence with her parents’ gentle encouragements. Lamia is especially a daddy’s girl and has a talent for developing unconventional cures (she also goes forth to uncover a remedy for White Amber Lead Poisoning when she is older). Her ultimate goal in life is to find cures for initially ‘incurable’ illnesses against medical canon or what the World Govt. permits. She is practical and always open to lending a helping hand and goes out of her way to brighten the crew’s day by asking how they are doing and if there is something they need, so she can make something for them or report back to her parents for suggestions on the Polar Tang. There are moments in great excitement where she adopts her father’s signature smirk and her mother’s, “Hell yes,” in the heat of battle or high-energy situations, but usually she is modest with her expressions and the one to evaluate her brothers’ plans or actions.

Parent’s Commentary
M: Three years after Ross was born, Law and I decided that he should have a sibling to share his rich inner world with, and surely enough, just after his birthday Law and I discovered I was pregnant with Lamia. They both are such precocious children and she really brought another dimension of compassion and creativity out of Ross, as he began making more stories and imaginary scenarios for them to play in. It’s also adorable how she often peeks into Law’s office to be around him as he works, and I know he was clutching his heart seeing her reading his medical journals on her own volition. She really brings us all down to earth and reminds us of the small things in life we should always be grateful for, and there is not a day that goes by where I am not grateful for my family.
L: When I asked Michelle what names she had in mind after finding out we were having a girl, she immediately said, “Lamia” without a second thought, both for Lami and the meaning of ‘radiance.’ It was a moment that made me catch my breath, seeing a part of the people who I lost live on. Delivering her was easier than Ross, since we were more prepared, but I became anxious when she came out, because she wasn’t making a sound, until I realized she was sleeping. We both were relieved when she cried after a couple of pats. (reminiscing) Lamia continues to surprise us everyday. I remember the time she asked me if I could read her a bedtime story and pulled out one of my old journals she took from my office (chuckles) and she sometimes I catch her applying what I taught her on Ross or Bepo.
