Alt-talia: It’s Starting to Feel Like Christmas

Hello, hello everyone! Joy to the world!

For some reason I thought this event began today, not yesterday, until pretty recently… but fortunately, while it’s a day late, I got to write this! I did plan on others, but I’m releasing this now so I can get it out just in case, especially since the two others could also fit on another day. This is mainly for 12/16: Presents, but it can also fit under Decorations and Traditions, so three in a row! Woot!

This time, I want to write more about characters I may have missed during Hetaween, since my character pool ended up narrower than intended. ...And saying that, I’m writing about two characters I’ve written twice in that event! Yay!

I debated whether to write about this topic in general or about it specific this year, but chose the latter. I hope I’ll get to release a more in-depth fic about it in general some other time. So yeah, I’m using some really fresh material again this time.

Oh yeah, BTW, most of my fics take place in my “Alt-talia” semi-AU where I aim to capture history and culture more faithfully and most importantly overhaul the many characters who make no sense drastically. This will especially be noticeable for England. So yeah, you have been warned. Though maybe he’s a bit OOC here compared to how I usually write him? Also, it should be noted that I use country names when talking about the characters as countries, and with human names when referring to them as individuals; while in Alt-talia the difference can be more hazy than canon, I mean more talking purely about their personal interactions and the like. 

Also, this is not intended to be shipping! 

This was supposed to be like a few lines with no real arc, but whelp. At least I still kept it short. Also there’s a deleted scene I didn’t know how to end as a bonus at the end.

It’s Christmastime Again, Lukas Haraldsen

Every year since 1947, Norway had a tradition of sending special Jul presents to a certain nation very dear to him. 

His Norwegian Spruce trees were prized by all; he regularly got bidders from all over Europe, and had witnessed many a fight over them get ugly. But the best of the best were only reserved for a certain United Kingdom; and the best among these, the Queen of the Forest, nurtured by the songs, voices, and arms of some of the world’s best, most loving foresters, for England. Specifically his capital, London.

After all, nothing could make up for the debt he had for him. In the dark days of Nazi occupation, London for him was hope; it was where England protected his royal family as they awaited the Nazis’ demise, from where the radio blared and urged him to fight on, where the skies have become a proving ground to show that the Nazis could be vanquished. 

He knew this year had been a mess for his friend, and his recent election, the second one that year, had done nothing to mitigate it; and while even Norway knew only he himself and his uncharacteristically impulsive decision really was to blame for his current situation, hopefully, this would improve his mood for the uncertain road ahead. 

Norway was a quiet, unassuming man, but he took his presents seriously. And he also took Jul seriously. 

And this year was no different. While he sent many trees every year to different cities in the kingdom, including to some of Scotland’s, the most important was of course the one sent to the City of Hope itself. 

And now, in the heart of Trafalgar Square, wearing a traditional sweater which may as well have been a T-shirt compared to the attire of the Londoners passing by as they started their day, whistling En stjerne skinner i natt and Vårres Jul to himself. 

“Mmm… Ah, Arthur!”

He waved and smiled gently as the man in question, dressed very much warmly in a thick duffel coat and wool knit scarf, came into view. 

“Ahem. I’m here too.”

Today beside him was one Peter Bates, or Sealand as he preferred to be called, adorably bundled up in a woolen coat, mittens, knit hat, and light blue scarf, now crossing his arms. 

“Right, right. Sorry.”

“Ello, Norway. Don’t mind him, he said he wanted to see the tree again and ‘His Highness’ Prince Bates told me to take him with me. Bloody cold here today, isn’t it?”

He was shivering a bit, his nose a noticeable red and his breath a white mist. 

“Nothing I’m not used to. I’ve been waiting for you here. I chose one which is much older and taller than usual. See for yourself.”

Norway moved aside so that his gift would be in full view of his friend. It was a product of the forests on the banks of Trollvann lake, raised with love as any tree worthy of Trafalgar Square would be, almost twice as tall and two or three decades older than the first tree to have had the honor to have the honor of being offered on this annual occasion. 

England stared at the tree. 

Silence. 

“Wow, it’s huge!”

Peter was the first one to speak, his eyes sparkling. 

“England? ...England?”

Norway asked, watching his blank expression. 

“Well… I know that I am causing quite a bit of annoyance, but if I remember correctly, you weren’t in the EU, right?”

Norway was now perplexed. 

England looked to him with a with an expression that could only be said to be both a gentle smile and disappointment at the same time. 

“It seems like it needs a drink, does it not? It looks a bit dry and quite thin.”

Norway thought he felt his heart sunk a little. 

Peter sharply elbowed England in the side, making him gag. 

“Sealand, please don’t.”

“It’s a present, you jerk! ...Don’t listen to Scrooge over here, she’s beautiful.”

“Well you do live on a metal platform in the ocean…”

He jabbed him again.

Norway’s face went a bit red. 

“She’s much older and taller than the usual ones. It won’t look just like a smaller one you would have in your living room.”

“Sorry. I’m just saying it looks a bit sparse, is all.”

Norway lifted up one of many boxes of lights. 

“Mmm… Well, will you be too busy to help?”

“Yes, am afraid. More negotiations and all. So I am presuming it will be lit in the cucumber style as per usua- ach!”

Peter this time kicked him in the knee, making the older nation’s legs buckle a bit.

Norway had to admit; maybe he had gone too much for size this time around. But Peter insisted that it not looking completely picture perfect was what made it look real instead of “Plastic tat”. 

And, as usual, put up the lights his own way, pure white streaks from top to bottom, “cucumber style” as England called it. 

And despite his complaints, on the night of lighting two days later, as the streams of light lit up in the heart of London in the crisp air and Norway listened to Peter cheer loudly with the crowd, the mayor of Oslo give her speech, and children caroling, amongst a sea of Londoners peppered with tourists, England stood beside him. 

“Well, it indeed finally feels like Christmas now.”

Norway looked to his friend, whose eyes were on the star, towering almost 25 meters above. 

“Well… maybe it is not quite up to your usual quality. But stability has been hard to come by nowadays; this tree being here every year, that I can rely on.”

Norway merely gave a quiet “Mmmm.” in response.

So that’s that. If anyone desires an explanation, I’ll provide it in a reblog or something, but I’d rather my stories inspire further research.

Also, “Lukas Haraldsen” is the name I’m using for Norway now, since a lot of Norwegians don’t seem to like “Bondivik”. “Haraldsen” because the founding king of the country is said to be King Harald Fairhair, and as Alt-talia nations can choose their surnames I thought it would be fitting if the surname Norway chose was “Son of Harald”. This name isn’t final though. Especially “Lukas”; does baptism change names again? Also Sealand has been renamed to “Peter Bates” instead of Kirkland; I don’t know why Hima chose that surname, since Sealand’s whole shtick is that he wants to be seen as an independent country. Why would he have the same surname? “Bates” is the surname of his owners, BTW, if that wasn’t clear. 

Again, this wasn’t really supposed to be a complete story with a neat conclusion, and not as heartwarming as intended. Kind of a similar case to Keep Calm actually, which also just happened to involve England. It was an opportunity to show England being a d*ck because, believe me, Alt-England can be an absolute d*ck when he wants to be. But despite the fact that he’s one of the characters whose d*ckery I actually kind of enjoy writing in a Love to Hate way, I haven’t had the chance to do that so far in these events... and I guess I got halfway there? I guess just ending it on England passive-aggressively insulting the tree was just a bit too meanspirited for me.

Sebagai wakil laksamana, Saul sebenarnya sudah pasti bisa Busoshoku dan Kenbunshoku Haki. Digabungkan dengan tubuh raksasanya, Saul pun bisa jadi ancaman besar bila dihadapi orang biasa.

Buktinya? Dia bisa mengangkat dan membanting kapal!

Jangan lupa kalau Law sudah dilatih oleh para eksekutif Doflamingo untuk persenjataan dan bela diri. Tanpa Ope Ope no Mi pun Law masih bisa menghajar musuh.

Sudah begitu, Luffy pun semakin kuat. Kenbunshoku Haki-nya meningkat setelah ia melawan Katakuri. Sekarang, di Wano ia meningkatkan Busoshoku Haki-nya juga.

Mungkin saat One Piece tamat, Luffy bisa menggusur para legenda di peringkat satu dan dua. Namun untuk sekarang ia masih harus memperkuat diri dulu.

Jika dia bisa mengalahkan Kaido, sudah pasti peringkat Luffy akan naik!

Mereka yang sebenarnya lebih kuat dari Law pun bisa tak berdaya jika tubuh mereka dipisah.

Teknik pedang Diamante saja pada dasarnya bagus. Saat dipadukan dengan Hira Hira no Mi, Diamante pun bisa menjadi musuh yang berat untuk dihadapi dalam duel pedang.

16. Cavendish/Hakuba

Cavendish adalah ahli pedang yang sangat hebat. Tapi ancaman sesungguhnya adalah bila Cavendish terlelap dan menjadi Hakuba. Kecepatan pedang Hakuba begitu menakutkan sampai Derringer, yang sudah menghajar petarung sekelas Ideo, sampai tak bisa bereaksi.

Masalah Kiku mungkin hanya satu: karena dia dilempar 20 tahun ke masa depan, skill-nya kemungkinan besar masih di bawah Inuarashi dan Shutenmaru, yang terus berlatih selama dua dekade.

Meski begitu, dari yang kita lihat, Kiku tetap mampu mengalahkan Kanjuro dalam duel. Yang jadi masalah mungkin adalah dia tidak tega untuk menghabisi sahabatnya sendiri, itu memberi Kanjuro kesempatan bangkit lagi.

Foxfire Kinemon sebenarnya adalah ahli pedang tangguh. Yang menakjubkan adalah kekuatan Buah Iblis Kinemon, yang bisa menciptakan pakaian, sebenarnya sama sekali tidak membantu kemampuannya. Jadi kemampuan pedangnya yang mampu memotong api itu murni skill!

Hanya saja, sama seperti Kikunojo, level kekuatan Kinemon sepertinya masih di bawah Inuarashi dan Shutenmaru karena ia dilempar dua dekade ke masa depan.

13. Inuarashi

Inuarashi adalah seorang ahli pedang tangguh. Suku Mink itu sejak anak-anak saja sudah terlatih sebagai pejuang. Inuarashi bukan hanya memiliki skill alami bangsa Mink, dia juga sudah ditempa di Wano dan ikut petualangan Oden bersama Whitebeard dan kemudian Roger.

Ia pun tidak dilempar ke masa depan, jadi dari segi pengalaman ia mengungguli Kinemon dan Kikunojo. Masalah Inuarashi hanya satu kakinya telah dipotong.

Kawamatsu sebenarnya menghabiskan banyak waktu di dalam penjara. Meski begitu, begitu ia keluar dari kurungan, ia tetap mampu bertempur dengan jago!

Nah, mungkin kamu ingat kalau Manusia Ikan di One Piece itu setidaknya sepuluh kali lebih kuat dari manusia biasa sejak lahir? Kawamatsu yang sebenarnya Manusia Ikan ini pun mengkombinasikan kekuatan fisik khas Manusia Ikan dengan teknik pedang dan sumo. Tak mengherankan dia begitu perkasa.

Dalam duel singkat mereka, terlihat sekali kalau Shutenmaru mampu mengimbangi Jack dari kelompok Beast! Ini berarti Shutenmaru setidaknya selevel dengan komandan seorang Yonko.

Shutenmaru sendiri sebenarnya sudah kuat sejak kecil. Terbukti dari ia mampu memberi perlawanan seru terhadap Kozuki Oden sebelum akhirnya kalah. Ditambah dua puluh tahun latihan, Shutenmaru pun menjadi sekutu penting untuk aliansi Topi Jerami di Wano.

10. Denjiro

Sejauh ini, musuh-musuh yang menghalangi Zoro di Wano tumbang. Gyukimaru? Begitu Zoro bisa melawannya tanpa interupsi, Zoro menang. Ninja-ninja Orochi? Mereka yang memburu Hiyori dan Zoro semuanya tumbang. Kamazou? Meski diganggu Gyukimaru, Zoro tetap menang.

Dengan memblokir serangan Zoro ke Orochi, dan kemudian mengimbangi Zoro, Denjiro terasa sebagai salah satu ahli pedang terkuat di Wano saat ini.

Kemudian terungkap pula kalau Denjiro ini sebenarnya salah satu Akazaya Nine. Kekuatannya jadi gak mengherankan deh.

Sejak dia lolos dari Impel Down, Shiryu sudah terasa sebagai penjahat berbahaya. Sekarang dia juga sudah memakan Suke Suke no Mi!

Dulu, Absalom bisa membuat repot Nami dan Sanji karena saat menghilang ia bisa sulit dideteksi. Meski begitu, sifat Absalom sebenarnya sedikit konyol.

Masalahnya? Shiryu sejauh ini tersaji sebagai pria sadis yang serius, tanpa sisi konyol seperti Absalom. Saat menebas Moria pun dia tiba-tiba saja muncul. Ancaman Shiryu pun terasa semakin berbahaya!

8. Roronoa Zoro

Roronoa Zoro sudah meningkat jauh kekuatannya sejak timeskip. Ia pun kini memiliki pedang Enma. Kalau Zoro benar-benar menjadi sosok yang menebas Orochi, Kaido, atau King, peringkatnya di daftar ahli pedang kuat dari sejarah One Piece ini pun bisa meningkat lebih jauh lagi.

7. Vista

Dikenal sebagai salah satu ahli pedang terkuat di dunia, Vista termasuk nama yang diingat oleh Mihawk. Ini sudah prestasi tersendiri mengingat Mihawk tidak mengingat nama ahli pedang remeh, bahkan meski si ahli pedang pernah ia hadapi.

Bila Vista belum dibunuh oleh Weevil, ia bisa saja menjadi sekutu kuat bagi Luffy.

Mihawk mungkin tidak berminat menghadapi Shanks karena dia hanya tinggal memiliki satu lengan. Tapi tetap saja, pria ini cukup kuat untuk beradu senjata melawan tinju Akainu serta ayunan tombak Whitebeard dengan satu lengan! Dalam adu kekuatan itu pun Shanks tak tergoyah.

Didukung oleh Haoshoku Haki yang luar biasa kuat, Shanks terasa sebagai salah satu hali pedang terkuat One Piece sampai saat ini.

5. Silvers Rayleigh

Sejak ia masih prima pun Rayleigh sudah menggunakan pedang. Di masa sekarang, begitu Rayleigh menghunuskan pedang, hati-hati. Kizaru sekalipun bisa ia tahan hingga tidak bisa menyerang Luffy dan yang lain.

4. Ryuma (semasa hidup)

Semasa hidup, Ryuma adalah sosok legenda yang bisa membuat Shusui menjadi hitam dan mampu memotong naga.

Bahkan setelah ia mati pun Ryuma masih kuat. Bayangkan saja, dia diberikan bayangan Brook (yang sebenarnya masih kalah jago dari ahli pedang sekelas Zoro). Namun dipadukan dengan kekuatan di dalam jasadnya, Brook yang asli sampai tidak bisa mengalahkan Ryuma!

Kalau saja Zombi Ryuma diberikan bayangan Zoro, Zoro yang asli pun bisa jadi kesulitan menghadapi mayat ini.

3. Kozuki Oden

Kozuki Oden sudah bisa menguasai Enma dan Ame-no-Habakiri sejak dia masih kecil! Terlahir dengan kekuatan super, Oden mampu membelah kapal hanya dengan satu tebasan.

Yang bikin Oden makin ngeri adalah dia bisa memadukan teknik pedangnya dan kekuatan fisiknya yang ngeri itu dengan Haoshoku Haki. Ini jadi kunci Oden bisa memberi Kaido luka yang membekas.

2. Gol D. Roger

Ini sebenarnya mengejutkan. Tapi One Piece 966 menegaskan kalau Gol D. Roger bertarung dengan pedang.

Tak hanya itu, ia bisa menciptakan pancaran Haki yang begitu kuat dengan pedangnya, sampai ia bisa menciptakan benturan kekuatan saat menghadapi Whitebeard. Padahal pedang Roger dan senjata Whitebeard tidak bersentuhan!

Appearance: Ross takes after Law in looks with his sharp features and steel gray eyes, save for a beauty mark under his left eye. As an adult, he has 3/4 part bangs and black shoulder length hair that is layered to frame his face.

Personality: He takes more after Michelle in this respect, with being the first one to step in and clarify the bigger picture for people. He is calm, inquisitive, but also extremely imaginative and often creates imaginary scenarios for he and his siblings, Lamia and Lukas, to play with. At times, he would rather help or orchestrate things from the shadows, but will internally blush if his efforts are acknowledged. He deeply cares for his siblings, although he can be stiff with people he does not yet fully know; however he has a kind heart and honors even the most mundane clover on the floor. As a child, he is very curious and likes to make tokens for people he cares about, whether it be a bouquet or a drawing. He truly was a blessing to my and Law's lives after the incident at Hairong, my hometown, and we love him with all of our hearts. He was a miracle that showed us that after everything we've been through with our dead ends of fate, we were able to create something even more powerful than any 'ROOM' or 'Dreamscape' we can make. I still think about how he gathered Lamia and Lukas by the windows and started teaching them about the ocean and creatures that lived out there. He is such a great storyteller too, that the kids often come to me asking if I could make whatever was in Ross’ imagination in my Dreamscape for them to play in.

L: I never thought that I would make it this far to find someone who I could share my life with, no less having a child. A pirate's life is dangerous and I was...afraid...to lose something precious to me again, but seeing how Michelle was just as determined to protect what we had, I knew I wouldn't want anyone else to have a family with. Delivering Ross was momentous for me and I'll never forget the first time he wrapped his fingers on mine. It was like I was seeing Cora-san again after so long. Growing up, he often imitates my and Michelle’s calls for our devil fruit fields and asked when he could get his own devil fruit so he could protect the Heart Pirates like us (chuckles). Michelle and I were at first alarmed, but seeing how much he wanted one, we taught him the consequences of having one and the different types out there. Who knew that he would inherit Cora-san’s fruit. (gently smiles) And he uses it to help his younger siblings sleep when the have trouble.

Personality: As a child, Lamia was quite timid and could be found shyly holding Ross’ hand or hiding behind him when meeting new people; however, she slowly grew into her confidence with her parents’ gentle encouragements. Lamia is especially a daddy’s girl and has a talent for developing unconventional cures (she also goes forth to uncover a remedy for White Amber Lead Poisoning when she is older). Her ultimate goal in life is to find cures for initially ‘incurable’ illnesses against medical canon or what the World Govt. permits. She is practical and always open to lending a helping hand and goes out of her way to brighten the crew’s day by asking how they are doing and if there is something they need, so she can make something for them or report back to her parents for suggestions on the Polar Tang. There are moments in great excitement where she adopts her father’s signature smirk and her mother’s, “Hell yes,” in the heat of battle or high-energy situations, but usually she is modest with her expressions and the one to evaluate her brothers’ plans or actions.

Parent’s Commentary

M: Three years after Ross was born, Law and I decided that he should have a sibling to share his rich inner world with, and surely enough, just after his birthday Law and I discovered I was pregnant with Lamia. They both are such precocious children and she really brought another dimension of compassion and creativity out of Ross, as he began making more stories and imaginary scenarios for them to play in. It’s also adorable how she often peeks into Law’s office to be around him as he works, and I know he was clutching his heart seeing her reading his medical journals on her own volition. She really brings us all down to earth and reminds us of the small things in life we should always be grateful for, and there is not a day that goes by where I am not grateful for my family.

L: When I asked Michelle what names she had in mind after finding out we were having a girl, she immediately said, “Lamia” without a second thought, both for Lami and the meaning of ‘radiance.’ It was a moment that made me catch my breath, seeing a part of the people who I lost live on. Delivering her was easier than Ross, since we were more prepared, but I became anxious when she came out, because she wasn’t making a sound, until I realized she was sleeping. We both were relieved when she cried after a couple of pats. (reminiscing) Lamia continues to surprise us everyday. I remember the time she asked me if I could read her a bedtime story and pulled out one of my old journals she took from my office (chuckles) and she sometimes I catch her applying what I taught her on Ross or Bepo.

Personality: Lukas is the youngest, but most outspoken out of his siblings and has no issue bluntly speaking his mind about things that he feels strongly about. He has a tendency to tease people that he is close to, which results in a word-competition between his siblings, though it never is obnoxious nor borderlines on rudeness. He has a great weakness for cute things and may drop what he is doing to go pet a puppy, though he is a person who completes his responsibilities (though sometimes last minute). He is extremely artistic and dabbles in many mixed media artforms, and sometimes gifts crewmates with a custom-painted cup or a painting to spruce up their cabin. Lukas is cunning, whereas Ross is strategic, and Lamia is practical. Lukas is usually the first to flash a menacing smirk against an opponent and has no problem letting a rain of kunais descend on anyone who hurts his family. He can be stubborn at times and refuse to retreat or withdraw from things. Knowing how his parents and older brother tend to overwork, he and Lamia usually bring water and remind them to take breaks.

Parents’ Commentary:

M: Initially Law and I planned to have only two children, but after the crew took the kids out to a carnival island so we could have some time to ourselves, things got a little playful and intense. (amused laugh) Nevertheless, Lukas truly brought an energetic light to our family and often surprises Law with things he learned about distant lands and seas. I can’t count how many paintings and drawings I kept from him and Ross, along with Lamia’s embroidered napkins. Lukas honestly inspires everyone to let go and let their expressions bleed from them, and more often than not, it makes the whole family come together for a project. He told me his favorite past times were drawing with me and his siblings and doing the medical identification and crossword workbooks Law gives, because it’s like ‘coloring with words.’

L: (to Michelle with a curl of his lips) Hey, you asked if I wanted to play a game when we docked at that island and I took on your challenge. Delivering Lukas had little complications, although he often cried when he was away from us or Ross and Lamia, but it surprised me how he that seemed to recognize everyone’s voices when he was born. It didn’t take long for us to discover that he had a photographic memory. Sometimes when something goes missing on the Polar Tang or someone refuses to confess something they did, Ross is usually the first to investigate it and Lukas is always his best witness, with Lamia being his note-taker. Lukas can be blunt about his thoughts, especially to adults he doesn’t like, but I guess he gets that from me. He often asks if I have sketches of hearts lying around so he can color it, and sometimes I check up on him to see that he is listening to something in another language.

1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?

The first I got involved in? Not wrote, but just... involved. Mh. It’s gotta be One Piece, that’s where I discovered fanart and fanfiction for the first time. First fic I ever read was some self-insert love-triangle between a Mary-Sue and Luffy and Ace and I absolutely loved it because the mere fact that here, for free, I just got to read about my favorite characters and my favorite anime was absolutely mindblowing.

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?

I mean. 75% of the ships I love are “obscure”. I... I always find the very obvious mainstream ships... boring. I mean, sometimes I find them nice in canon, but mostly I find canon to provide enough about them that I don’t really need fandom to get more of it, you know? Or, which also often happens, I find the mainstream ships have more of a very strong friendship-dynamic, or even a sibling-dynamic in some cases, and I just can’t really find it in myself to want to see them in a romantic way.

So, if I have to pick an, as in one, obscure ship, I will have to go with my top OTP. Jagnus. Jace and Magnus literally lived together, in both the show-canon and the book-canon, yet somehow it is an “obscure” ship. I mean, not somehow, we all know why. It’s the unwritten fandom rule of “canon mlm shall NEVER EVER BE BROKEN UP HOW DARE YOU SHIP ONE WITH SOMEONE ELSE”. You have no idea how often that rule has come between me and my OTP. Basically every time there is a canon mlm ship, really.

And this in no way or shape means to criticize those who only ship canon and are content with it, you do you, but I do find the lack of creativity in shipping in fandom where there is a canon mlm ship... really damn boring. Fandoms without canon mlm representation have the wildest constellations of ships, have a far broader variety of content, but when there is canon mlm, the majority of a fandom tends to just happily sit down with it and hug it and prefer not to be creative with the content and the shipping. And as a certified multishipper, I don’t really get that - like, even if you like the canon, you could have multiple ships?

17. Who was your first OTP and are they still your favourite?

My first OTP was Shere Khan/Bagheera, because gods do I love Jungle Cubs. And while other ships I interact more with have pushed it off the throne, if I see any form of Sheregheera content, I am immediately sucked in, no questions asked, no hesitation. I am utterly in love with this very rare, small, very obscure actually, ship and I will always love it and it still is one of my favorites.

23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.

Ooof. Interesting one. I’ve done a variety of PJO fics I’m particularly fond of in previous versions of such a question, so let’s go with something else this time. “The Lost Soulmarks”. It’s, at this point, probably my own personal most reread story. I just reread it the other night, actually. It just - it hits all of the right spots in what I want from a fic. Very often, I write to please my readers, with “What do my followers like most?” in my mind at least to a certain degree, but some things are absolutely self-indulgent. And I should really write more absolutely self-indulgent fics because those are the ones I myself keep coming back to. It has ABO-verse, it has soulmates, it’s Jace-centric, with lots of love, misunderstandings but not the kind where one of them is to blame but rather where it’s due to the circumstances, it’s really emotionally painful, but pays off in the end. It’s... seriously those are all the things I love.
