That person (so far) has 8 different accounts, harassing and spamming people on tumblr.

They laugh at the deaths of Palestinians, hate on trans women, support AI art, are ableist, rude as heck, and will use vulgar insults on basically everybody.

Usually, they will pick a fanart and reblog it to turn it into a hate post entirely unprompted. I have seen them reblogging another user's post on Hinata a whopping 16 times in a row for that purpose. They are also incapable of having an actual discussion, no matter what it's about or how polite you are. They absolutely will try to attack you personally.

They hate Hinata, SasuSaku, Naruto and Gai. On the other hand, they love Neji a lot (so if you are a pro-Neji account, odds are that they are following you).

I have noticed that anti rhetoric seems to go against most of the old types of ships people would flock to in like 2008, Sasunaru is a ship of all time but Bakudeku is abusive. Even if there isn't anything wrong with a queer ship (can't be called pedo or incest) messy and angsty ships are treated as worse than super fluffy ones, and tbh this has kind of made me feel alienated from fandom.

I know that I repeat myself but it's true. You're right. The purity culture that antis employ is rooted in homophobia, which is why even the fluffiest gay ships get targeted 100% more than the "dark" het ships. If you ship Jaytim you're a freak of nature and you should repent, but if you ship Brubabs you're fine - mostly fine at least.

Because here's the thing. They started coming after the dark ships and the really heavy kinks, then they switched to just non-vanilla ships and mild kinks, then they expanded to any ship that has a vaguely "unhealthy" connotation (sometimes this unhealthy connotation is made up), and kink doesn't even need to be involved. They are starting to attack het shippers too - it doesn't happen as often but I do see people being harassed for shipping Sasunaru and Sasusaku, or Brubabs, or anything the casual anti dislikes really. The dynamic of laying out why a ship is pRoBLeMatiC, arguing how shipping is bad and makes you a bad person, seeped into fandom spaces of all kinds and is employed even by people who aren't antis themselves, because it got just so widespread. It's essentially the norm for a lot of people; they see a new ship and their first reaction is to dissect it to find reason to harass who ships it (see one of my mutuals who got bullied to hell and back for drawing punkflower because of course if you ship Miles and Hobie you're a pedophile, even if Hobie's official age has not been disclosed, and Miles is most certainly not a child).

The so called discourse will keep spreading. I know this sounds alarmist but there is no limit to anti mentality, it's kinda like how republicans take it out on trans people, then spread it to queer people in general, then go after the rights of women and children and if they could they'd abolish divorce. I'm pretty sure they will actually try depending on how the elections go next year. Antis are on the same path. Now we progressed to a point where het ships aren't safe anymore either, and some antis make the case that sex and nsfw content should not exist at all in any kind of media, fictional and transformative alike, not just the "toxic" representations of it.

I too feel alienated from fandom too because of that. It's an old adage, but fandom is supposed to be a safe space and it's just not that anymore (come to Aethy for a better experience btw, they really do have a policy to kick antis out if they bother people). Sure block the people you don't want to see, customize your own space, tailor it for yourself and all of that. But when you are a creator it's consistently harder, harassment is always around the corner especially when you're an artist. Especially because a website like tumblr directly caters to antis and censorship worshippers and does not by any means defend who's getting harassed.

Like it or not, by the way, fetishizing gay people has become so common that not only are weirdos fetishizing gay men, they’re starting to insert sexualities of their choice INTO a character that does not belong to them in any form. Go, turn tf back, and watch/read your yaoi stuff, don’t drag it into anime that has nothing to do with it + people genuinely want to enjoy what is canonically given (indeed, I’m a canon freak). Straight up disrespectful to the original author when you really try to twist characters or their relationship with another character. Disappointing.

You need to understand that queer people exist in a world where there is a severe lack of queer representation in different genres, so we have to accept bits and pieces wherever we can. The fuck do you mean by that? Queerness is not limited to "yaois". Queer people are not any different from straight people. I'M SORRY WHAT??? Why would you call your non-existent hypothetical readers "no-lifers" if they choose to ship two NON-EXISTENT HYPOTHETICAL characters? That's actually crazy to me, babes. I disagree with most of the things you've written on that post but I specifically wanted to say something about this. you need to understand that while yes, you are the origin of said hypothetical characters but once said hypothetical book is published, you no longer have creative liberty of said characters. think about harry potter for example. the author is a terf and yet trans people and allies headcanons some of her characters as trans. do you think jk r*wling's okay with that? i highly doubt it. (And babes, if you want to be an author, or at least one that doesn't get cancelled, a small advice would be that if people are shipping a ship that you don't want them to ship, you might not be as good of an author as you might think. Think about Naruto. No one particularly enjoys the ending. Some find Naruhina to be forced and Sasusaku were done so wrong in Boruto. And that's mainly part of the reason so many people ship SNS. Think about JJK. Geto and Geto have been explicitly written to be foils of each other. While I do understand why straight people might not be able to see the blantant queercoding but I would suggest that you start reading into things more deeply rather than just accepting whatever is presented to you on a silver platter by the author. But also think about AOT, why do you think most people don't ship Armin and Eren while they do ship Eremika? Because for once, there is a well written ship WITH a well-written female character? (Yes, I agree it's not perfect but much better than most ships)).

Small note that I forgot to add: Most female characters are horribly written (which is no fault of their own and lies heavily with their authors). Think Hinata. Why would I ship something when one part of the ship has no fucking personality other than the main male character??? I'm in no way hating on Hinata but more so on how Kishimoto writes female characters. I ship things based on chemistry and canon. I can still ship things if it's not canon but not if there is no chemistry.

Maturity is realizing that Sasuke never 'gave into evil' but was actually a child who witnessed the literally massacre of his whole family by his older brother who he looked up to and THEN was forced to relieve it for hours by him and the same brother then lied to him to get him to be obsessed with becoming stronger,got no help for his trauma afterwards and in fact had his bad symptoms enabled for years and gr00med into joining a ped0phile as a not even 13 year old and isolated from his friends for years by him so one of the biggest victim's of Konoha's child soldier and general miltary system and that Sakura's desperation to get him back wasn't toxic but her genuinely trying to help him in the best way she knew how to and OFFERED TO DEFECT KONOHA JOIN HIS SIDE because that's how much she cared about him,not purely out of crush but out of the friendship that bloomed between them in the og series

Maturity is also realizing that Bakugou dosen't deserve brownies points for the bare minimum of not going supervillain after a life of privilige because he got some mean online comments one time for assaulting his classmate he KNEW was an abuse victim and getting so pissed afterwards he literally acted like a killer animal and even months of 'character development' later still having the AUDACITY to be a dick to the same classmate's best friend and pseudo-girlfriend who's objectively a million times more of a hero than he could ever be
