unfortunately, we probably won’t reblog them again, just because this blog is already moving at the speed of sound, but when I go over everything afterwards for a tag check I’ll keep an eye out for image descriptions in reblogs and try to link them :)

I’ve been relistening to TMAGP keeping in mind the theory that the audio glitches when people lie. I’ve only gotten through the first episode so far but just from that there’s quite a few examples!

Red is where I’ve noticed the glitches. All of them (arguably excluding Lena’s?) are fairly obvious lies, even without noticing the glitches.

(Disclaimer: I have auditory processing issues, so I’ve probably missed some, and I may have noticed some that aren’t there. If anyone notices any mistakes, let me know and I’ll correct them)

ipa transcription + rambling under the cut!

this was originally practice for my phonemic english tengwar mode with inherent vowel schwa but it got. a bit out of hand lol. tenchnically the mode’s still under construction but that’s mostly bc I’m running into issues with the guide I wrote for it (mainly font & accessibility issues)

both the ipa and the tengwar transcripts are based on how I personally would pronounce the prophecy if I were to read it aloud slowly & carefully. which is to say I don’t sound that much like a stuck up ass irl lmao. the ipa is mostly based on geoff lindsey’s transcription guidelines for standard southern british, with a few adjustments. also I didn’t use stress markers in monosyllabic words bc I’m lazy

Looking for Manga/Comic Transcriber

Hello! I am a blind person in search of someone with experience creating complex written transcriptions of manga or comics to be read by the blind.

Some years ago, I had made contact with a Tumblr user who did precisely this for commission, but I have long since lost contact with that person and I am unsure if there are others who have done this sort of work. But hey, it’s 2025, and you never know.

I am specifically interested in commissioning written transcriptions of the Ouran High School Host Club manga. Someone who is already somewhat familiar with the material would be a bonus, though not a requirement. I would likely be requesting to start the transcription several chapters into the manga, rather than at the very beginning, since much of the early manga is mostly well preserved in the anime, and I have been able to experience at least part of it from the manga dub on YouTube. But depending on availability and time commitment, I may wish to revisit the first chapters after the rest are done for completion sake.

I am able to offer some amount of commission pay for this work, though I would request some amount of communication or documentation on progress. I would of course also want to see some examples of previous transcription work you’ve done and your rates for cost.

I am willing to consider someone who has not done dedicated written transcriptions of visual media specifically for blind people before, but I would need you to do some ground research on what makes a good image description and try your hand at a few pages first. I am happy to provide some general tips And examples, but I don’t currently have the time or spoons to teach someone from Ground Zero entirely on my own.

I can provide an example of a previous Ouran manga chapter transcription done by the previous transcriber for anyone interested as well. I would not necessarily require you to use the exact same narrative description style, but I was very happy with their work.
