A Social Contract
Inspired to make this poster after intense dreams last night - where my imagination conjured a nihilistic thriller.
The setting was a grimy blend of 70’s Northern England and New York
The unnamed protagonist dressed in a 3/4 length black leather jacket and played by David Morrissey, was a newly released prisoner.
He visits his ex-wife and she tells him to leave but not before his daughter asks for a birthday gift.
Desperate for money he asks for a “contract” from a former associate played by Paul Giamatti, who double crosses him - furious he despatches him with a shotgun. He becomes ever more desperate and keeps dropping or damaging the overpriced gift his daughter has asked for - a Mr Popcorn.
Various others get “taken out” along the way and as he drops the toy a final time and scrabbles to gather the pieces, police cars arrive silently in the background. He’s apprehended and tazed.
End credits.

If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.

This brings to mind the SHEEEER number of times I've had to shake my head incredulously over poets and other (professional) writers* complaining that we shouldn't be talking about insulting words as being as abusive as physical blows and I have to take a moment before interrogating that because, if you don't think words have weight, WHY ARE YOU A FUCKING WRITER?!
Because sure, advertising and propaganda never work, and there are no slander or libel laws for any fucking reason whatsoever.
Give me fucking strength.
(*No prizes for guessing their demographic overlaps or their position on pronouns.)
idk who needs to hear this but when your english teacher asks you to explain why an author chose to use a specific metaphor or literary device, it’s not because you won’t be able to function in real-world society without the essential knowledge of gatsby’s green light or whatever, it’s because that process develops your abilities to parse a text for meaning and fill in gaps in information by yourself, and if you’re wondering what happens when you DON’T develop an adult level of reading comprehension, look no further than the dizzying array of examples right here on tumblr dot com

Gc2b Binders No Longer Reputable
I've been away, so y'all may already be very aware of this, but I want to make sure it's stated on this blog because it's been The Brand for yeeeaaars: the quality of gc2b binders has been going downhill the past few years. People who bought from them prior and recently can attest to how poor the quality has become. The binders are just not the same. The material isn't comfortable and, more importantly, the fit just isn't good. People who've tried recent gc2b binders, even those who've been binding for years, are suffering from back and muscle pain, stiff shoulders, soreness, etc. regardless of fit. The material just doesn't seem to be suitable for binding anymore. It is also degrading really quickly and binders are wearing out in a matter of months. It is no longer worth it to buy from gc2b.
If you want some sources on this, check out the reviews here on trustpilot with people talking about this.
You'll want to keep your eye on brands that are still doing good work: Spectrum Outfitters (UK), For Them (seems to be a hate it or love it company; I know some who swear by them and others who feel they dont' really sell actual binders - just sports bras/lighter compression tops), Shapeshifters (good custom work and larger sizing), and Underworks (best budget brand).

"Autistic characters in popular media are always robots or aliens" I mean, that's just not true. Autistic characters in popular media in fact span a wide range of backgrounds, including (but not limited to):
Time traveller
Former cultist
Morbid little girl
Grown in a tube
Ambiguously foreign
Talking animal
Curse victim
Tech support
Raised by wolves
Ninja assassin
World famous detective
French

There's something that needs to be said to Audio Drama creators/VAs/Sound People/Storytellers in general. It's sappy, but I'm saying it. Because I felt like it. Because I appreciate you. This is for you, from me, Lemon. (subtitles are in the video!)

can you believe that we have fanfiction. that we have websites dedicated to fanfiction. that there is a place that you can go and read tens, hundreds, thousands and thousands of pieces of writing that strangers have made. people who are not "writers". people who come home at the end of the day and have feelings and say, i am going to put that into words. i am going to share those words. short, long, sweet, sad, horny, funny, wonderful words. we are all just human and we all love to make and remake and share that with others. can you believe that.
