More Bug Wars! This time, medium-detailed profiles for the Autobugs:

The Autobugs fight for the freedom of all Hivertronians, resisting the oppressive ambitions of the Pesticons.

Long post so it goes under the cut. I also edited some names and functions from my first post about this:

Entomus Prime (he/him)

Role: Leader

Bug mode: Rhinoceros beetle

Bio: Brave and compassionate. Internally wonders if he's truly worthy to be a leader, but will never stop fighting to become the hero the Hivertronian refugees need. A former Energon farmer who fought against the oppressive caste system, before taking the Matrix of Leadership to keep it away from his former friend Centatron.

Features: Beetle horn becomes an axe, robot chest opens to reveal the Matrix.

Honeybee (she/her)

Role: Scout

Bug mode: Bee

Bio: Outgoing and hotheaded. Tries to repay the kindness Entomus Prime showed her, but can be reckless and quick to anger. Lost her memory when her stasis pod crashed on Earth, she was found and taken in by the Autobugs despite sharing the same body-type as the Pesticons' feared Stingers.

Features: Bee stinger becomes a sword (only the tip protrudes in bug mode).

Longarm (she/her)

Role: Warrior

Bug mode: Praying mantis

Bio: Stoic and disciplined. Holds both others and herself to high standards. A soldier even before the Autobug-Pesticon war, she acts like all she cares about is winning, but deep down she's protective of her teammates.

Features: Mantis claws become twin blades.

Spring-Kick (he/him)

Role: Warrior

Bug mode: Grasshopper

Bio: Sometimes cheerful, sometimes violent. Uses an unserious attitude to hide his inner struggles. Born with a rare mutation that drives him berserk if he gets too angry or excited, increasing his power but making him a danger to allies.

Features: Robot head changes between normal and berserk forms.

Hotspot (he/him)

Role: Mechanic

Bug mode: Firefly

Bio: Energetic and kind-sparked. Works tirelessly to keep both the Autobug base and his teammates up and running. Sometimes his endless energy and excitable nature test the others' patience, but they know he's always trying to help.

Features: Firefly lantern becomes chest core with light-piping.

Blackout (she/her)

Role: Sniper

Bug mode: Spider

Bio: Cynical and solitary. Usually off on her own, only contacting the base to report important intel. Has little respect for Entomus Prime's authority, but still helps the Autobugs because she hates the Pesticons, especially her creator Darkweb.

Features: Rear pair of spider legs become a bow.

Archaeon (he/him)

Role: Advisor

Bug mode: Cicada

Bio: Patient and stubborn. The oldest living member of the team, he mentors the younger recruits. Came to study Earth long before the Hivertronian refugees arrived, and knows the planet's natural systems better than any other bot.

Features: Includes twig staff.

Proto (she/her)

Role: Child

Bug mode: Caterpillar

Bio: Timid and innocent. An orphan picked up by the Autobugs because she had nowhere else to go. Despite her young age, she tries to help out around the base and wants to get stronger so she can do more.

Micronus Prime (he/him)

Role: Spirit guide

Bug mode: Tardigrade

Bio: Calm and philosophical. One of the Primes who held the Matrix before Entomus, he gave up his afterlife to remain in the Matrix as a data ghost. He appears to Entomus with advice, though his wisdom is sometimes hard for the new Prime to understand.

Features: Translucent parts throughout his body.

if *I* were in charge of making a bumblebee centered project in the mid 2010's, instead of making him a teacher for younger characters in a post war setting, i would have used him to explore the war from the perspective of the youngest and most vulnerable autobot. i want to go back to cybertron and see how bumblebee, the kind and gentle spirit, has only ever known a war torn world and yet he still wants to fight with everything in him to get a glimpse of what once was or at least make it possible for those who will come after him.

i want to see him being trained amidst the horrors of war, desperate to fill a role anywhere he can, hearing stories from older and wiser characters and distant memories of his world before the war, even before the underlying conflicts that caused it. i want to see him learn about optimus and become more and more fascinated by him before finally getting to meet him. they fight side by side briefly and optimus chooses bumblebee personally to be his team's scout. story can end with the beginning of g1 where they crash and wake up on earth and look out at the sunrise on the horizon together or something idk. this would be a fire videogame.

They should retool Studio Series Jeep Bumblebee into IDW Ironfist and Rise/Reactivate BB into Bug Bite with a Mercenary Logo on his Chest

(i still would love a brand new mold for ironfist but hasbro and takara tomy would never do that and i wish his eyes stays red or pink in transformers the last stand of the wreckers comic)
