honestly i should really make names for them SOON... i struggle w names esp when theres contextual conventions for them. i mean i should have more experience w this cus my ocverse ive been working on for like 7 yrs has EXTREMELY similar conventions (most characters name themselves, which leads to names like 'zeltaveen' and 'doba') but also ive only named a Few of the many characters from that over the years... that ive condemned most of them to abstraction before even coming up with a name for them feels particularly cruel, i simply just Dont think about names fast

#ik the card ones like... itll ALMOST sound like an atcual name but be a little off #rings would be smth borderline respectable but slightly silly #box's is prob a nonsense name like pomni #(brushing aside the meaning of her name ofc. in universe its just a bunch of random letters)#and bug persons likely smth another person came up w #('jax' and 'gangle' both were names jax came up w which could be used as some sort of basis #and zooble being named zooble is like.... did caine label the box before or after they got that name?#were they named after the parts or were the parts named after them?)#also if ur thinking 'well you have a name for scuttle!' i didnt name them HAHA #a friend came up w that name for me. shout out to it for coming up w his name #ok rn im playing w a random letters thing for box #and the first result was 'bpldg' which is funny fsr. Tf I just came across a post talking abt my bug fables world analyses calling me a wholesome brainrotted zoomer who didn’t understand real bug societies?? 😭 posting it here on my alt so Nobody sees this but my moots but my brother in Christ those posts were not complaints about the game, those were if anything praise of having layers to the worldbuilding lmao I’m not oblivious to how bugs work, I was just pointing out it was interesting that despite the rest of society moving forward to more humanlike behaviors there were still systems in place that, to any fully sapient beings would be seen as oppressive. Wasn’t saying it was a bad thing or a mistake. Very interesting thing to stumble across on this fine Friday afternoon

So I'm an RTD girlie who gave up on doctor who somewhere in the moffat era before chibnall even took over and so I've missed all of thirteen's tenure. I don't have it in me to watch all of her seasons at this moment in time but I LOVE Jodie and your gifs look so compelling.

Would you be able to recommend your top 5 episodes with 13 or something so I can rectify the error of my ways, at least a little bit?

The Woman Who Fell to Earth

It Takes You Away

Spyfall pts 1 & 2

The Haunting of Villa Diodati

And probably Fugitive of the Judoon and The Timeless Children just because those are very important series lore episodes that are important to watch even if you very much disagree with most of the choices that Chibnall made

Also probably The Power of the Doctor so you can watch Thirteen's full regeneration episode (and Jacob Anderson <3)

#questionbell #anonymous #i will also admit this openly: the gifs I'm reblogging look compelling because I'm very selectively cherry picking #the best part of each episode to amplify #i love jodie and i love thirteen so much but god are some of her episodes dull #chibnall had no idea what to do with her and the companions offer absolutely nothing #and i mean it. i do say this with love but jodie/thirteen could've been INCREDIBLE if she'd had anything good to work with #which is why she shines when she's up against sacha as the master #he gives her something to bounce off and play with whereas yaz just gawks at her like a bug under a microscope #but i do think the biggest issue is that there are just too many characters in each episode #villa diodati has like 10 characters in it which is far too many to successfully do anything with #because you can't further yaz's storyline while also making us care about shelley and the lone cyberman and the cyberium all in 50 minutes #and that's where i think the chib era suffered the most #it tried to do too much and in doing so accomplished nothing at all #anyway i do genuinely like these few episodes so you should very much check them out and form your own opinion #just don't watch rosa or orphan 55
