Patty’s Final

     “Trapeze, your turn is up.” She hesitated for a moment as if there was someone else in the room with that same code name. Everyone’s eyes were on her and she knew what they were thinking. It was a miracle she even got into the school and she had the lowest performance in all her classes with Mime Bomb being a close second. “Hey,” A hand on her upper leg snapped Trapeze out of her thoughts. “You got this babes.” Everyone thought she would fail except for one. She stood up and went towards the front of class. 

“Somewhere in these pockets is a dollar bill, you have two minutes to find your target and acquire it.” The stopwatch as placed onto the table. “If you can.” 

Trapeze took a deep breath then a few cautious steps forward. Her hands flew out yet didn’t seem to be reaching for the dollar bill. To ShadowSan this was hesitation, something that could ruin a mission entirely. He grabbed her wrist, pulled her closer then pushed her away harshly. “If you will not take this seriously you will not pass.” Trapeze was usually passive, more content with taking the verbal bearing rather than standing up for herself. Now her eyes narrowed as she bit her lip. She ran forward but instead of attacking she pressed the button on the metal cuffs on her wrist and twirled. 

The sills were deployed as she spun. It was overwhelming on the eyes. With the silks spinning in elegant motions ShadowSan was too late to notice silk being tired around his wrist. A bead of sweat went down his forehead as he roughly tugged on on the silk, a desperate attempt to stop her. 

With the button being pressed again the silks let go of him and went back into the cuff. Trapeze stood in front of him with the dollar bill in her right hand.

“You cannot hesitate like you did.” She gave the dollar back, bowed, and sat down. Tigress took off her goggles and grabbed her girlfriend’s hand. “I knew you could do it.” She winked and Trapeze chuckled sheepishly. 

She couldn’t have done it without Tigress’s support.

theres something about how its a move for the trapze and it requires someone else there to catch you

and something about how dick is performing it all on his own and how even though its one of the last connections he has to his parents. its still different. they're not there to catch him!!

and like idk nightwing's the best arcobat in the world and thats something he's proud of, but he's also the best trapeze artist and that whole medium relies on performing with others. so what good is being the best??
