favorite and least favorite parts of each trek, with absolutely no thought put into it before making this list:

We don't talk about Chris and Travis' talk-argument as much as we should. Mostly for Travis. One of my favorite moments with him. Its like one of the moments where he gets to act natural (for lack of a better term).

Just how he's arguing with Chris and feels like an argument siblings would have, but my absolute fav part is when Chris has the audacity to accuse Travis of not doing his job. That look in his eyes where you can see the anger switch click on and Travis rightly tells Chris that if he was doing his job the family would be in prison. (Speaking of that moment, Chris said "that was all Bobby & Caleb". WTF where they doing.)

But back on topic this and the conversation later and even a bit of the prologue highlights that Travis likes and respects his job and, unfortunately, he was raised to put his family first with everything skewing his morals and actions.

However what seals the deal for me at this moment between Chris and Travis was when Travis went:

"we're all in this together."

That made me lose my shit. OMG given his whole persona I was not expecting that delivery physically or vocally. It's one of the moments where Travis feels like he's behaving naturally and despite the situation, somewhat relaxed. At least clearly comfortable enough with someone he knows.

Yeah. It seems like Chris is the one in his family that he’s the closest to just by the way they interacted in the prison.

But even then I wanted to throw water on Chris face just by the way he was acting like a spoiled brat (he probably is tbh) with Travis, saying shit like he’s not doing his job, questioning everything he’s done and then whining about being shot while he’s obviously okay

But yes, in that moment we see how Travis actually is with his siblings, how he behaves when he can be himself 😂 even tho he’s pissed off with his little brother for being a knob.

well getting into the leafs fandom isn’t that hard. some things to know is you’ll cry, and get mad and want to live in a hole a chunk of the time but then they’ll make your day ✨✨ and everything seems like it’ll be alright. (this means we’ll sometimes lose to shit teams and win against good teams). (this also means we actually haven’t passed the first round in a while and well um that’s a whole other pain).

i’ll walk you through the boys just quickly incase you already know the vibez: AM34 is your main scoring man, last years rocket richard winner (what’s given to the highest goal scorer). mitchy (#16) is his right hand and that man will give u some sexc plays!!! bunts is an absolute godly fit into the first line and you’ll love him for his rat-like personality because he always pisses someone off with simply his presence. you got ✨✨ william nylander ✨✨on your second line makinh all of us fall on our knees for VARIOUS reasons that would take days to talk about. john tavares is our lovely captain and he’s just our precious robot man and we adore him!!!!!! great goal scorer and person whole and whole. you got kerfoot, underrated af but an absolute icon for making sweet plays. kase and kampf are you czech besties who normally accompany ilya mikheyev and yet again they’re just like kerfoot — the third line serves!!!!! then you got SPEZZ <3333333 who is our precious veteran who would die for our team no doubt. you’ve got wayne simmonds, an absolute icon and legendary scrapper. MORGAN RIELLY. you’ll love him (and if you already do, you’ll love him even more every day). he’s just amazing. also dating the most decorated figure skater, tessa virtue, and they’re a power couple!!! RASMUS SANDIN. ouuu bestie he’s a fan favourite and just an amazing baby and i love him and yeah ahsksjqkjdwobdmskakdkje. muzz n hollsy are chaotic icons who do funny things that makes you love ‘em but then can also make you wanna pull your hair out. depends the time. you got brodie, created the sprawling defensive play that you will see in every leafs game — it makes you smile. oh soupy!!!!!!!!! aka. jack campbell, aka. the sweetest man you will ever see and he’s an adorable cat dad. ummmm oh well he’s still on the roster 🥴 and that’s right, it’s petr mrazek. we love him but ummm yeah the hockey, hmmm not the vibe. THERES ERIK KÄLLGREN WHOS OUR NEW SWEDISH BABY GOALIE AND HE GOT THE SHUTTY ON HIS FIRST OFFICIAL START SO WE ALL LOVE HIM NOW. there’s joseph woll too, another baby goalie whos now playing really only for the marlies but he got hurt rn so give him good vibez :((( who am i missing??? well i guess the new guys from the trade deadline period who we’ll learn about together: giordano (from seattle tho originally from calgary and was friends w brodie), blackwell (from seattle, truly have no idea who he is) and then lybushkin who’s already been playing and who’ll you’ll appreciate!!

just to put it out there, some honourable mentions of past leafs that have sadly departed from us (no they’re not dead they’re just not playing here anymore) is travis dermott (who just got traded but he was a one of a kind man), zach hyman (that made everyone sad when he left), frederik andersen (he was sweet, but people ripped him apart, smh) and nazem kadri (oh god that trade was hell).

if you haven’t already and want to get to know more about the guys i suggest watching highlights to learn about them as a player and then interviews to just vibe with them (we have good ones so just search up the leafs on yt and go through their leaf to leaf series!!)

critical role outfit vibes (pt2)

in honor of the m9 vs vm one shot, here’s another one of these posts bc the vibes tonight are impeccable

ashley: ma’am. ma’am. how are you so cute. the hairbuns? the eyeliner? the slightly crooked goggles resting on her forehead? the black would be insufferable in the post-apocalyptic heat, but as the goths of old have shown us, you can’t be hot without risking possible heatstroke. i am surrounded by water thieves, who want me not only for my precious few bottles of water, but also my juicy dump truck ass. i try to fight them off, but there’s just too many of them. suddenly the one nearest to me’s head explodes, and screaming through the spray of blood and viscera is ashley, riding a tricked out quad bike. she makes quick work of the water thieves and holds a hand down to me. i gently grasp her hand, and she takes me back with her to her utopia hidden among the sand dunes. 10/10

marisha: we meet at a LARP gathering. i’ve never been before, so i’m nervous. she takes me under her wing, guiding me through the ways of a warrior. i can’t stop thinking about warrior cats jokes. i see her defeat three men in single combat. i lose her in the crowd of people after this, and never see her again. the warcraft movie blue face paint and the goggles give me steampunk warrior, but the single-armed fishnet glove and leather bustier gives me 2008 scene kid. both of these are specifically designed towards me so 8/10

laura: harley quinn without the clowncore. she’s that cool chick at a roller derby that’s super sweet to everyone out of game, but will go absolutely lethal the minute her skates hit the rink. would kick my ass and i would thank her, but there’s nothing too crazy with this outfit - i would wear this out in public. 6/10

liam: Erik Phantomoftheopera called, he wants his mask back. the feathers on the black hood is tight as fuck tho - i’m pretty sure he’s wearing a fishnet shirt underneath as well. kinda gives me “theatre kid that shows up in full cosplay to a halloween party where everyone is just dressed sluttily” vibes. again, he will instantly die of heatstroke the minute the apocalypse happens but like, what a way to go. 8/10

sam: whatever energy the insane clown posse has, this outfit has the opposite of that. haunts me, even when i close my eyes. this man walks up to me in the aisles of a 24 hour corner store and asks me if i’ve seen god. i clutch my doritos close to my chest and weakly tell him i’m agnostic, so no. he grins too widely at me, and tells me “you will”, and then walks away. the woman on the bean cans next to me stares as i contemplate what the fuck i just experienced. -100000/10

tal: 18th century vampire who’s lived the last 50 years in vegas. will officiate your wedding, however any children born of this union will have their souls tied to the eldritch god that he made a deal with back in ‘83 (which ‘83? he’ll never tell). this doesn’t impede these children in any way, but they do find themselves drawn to leopard print for unknown reasons and will be goth.

travis: this is a t-shirt and a pauldron, with some eyeliner as a treat. he also immediately took all of this off after the intro. would not last in the apocalypse. 3/10

Random SF ideas

It has a lot of Travis ships because that's my feral lil bby. I'm having fun keeping him from bullying people by bullying him instead lol

Every time he enters school Sal mutters “anything can happen in the Bronx”. Todd is the only one that doesn’t understand.

Travis is emotionally constipated and will take it out on others, but later do small things as his form of apologizing. Philip and his mother are the only people that understand him and understand why. Sal thinks he may be bipolar and Larry has probably called him the r-slur under his breath. (Stinky boy probably would say it openly if not for Sal's disdain for that word).

Maple and Travis bonding over jewelry and make up. Travis won’t admit it to anyone but her but he likes the way Maple accessorizes. Obligatory Chug appreciation to keep on her good side, later forms a healthy and wholesome friendship.

Travis and Larry fight verbally. It doesn’t get physical unless Larry loses control and shoved Travis. This prompting a snarky reminder that Larry is no better than Travis’ own father. They cuddle and fall asleep later tho, after Sal puts them in their get along corner.

Nicknames. Travis’ weakness is nicknames. Lisa discovers this and shows Larry and Sal who abuse this power. Travis’ tan cheeks are bright red anytime he’s out public with them because of their stupidly sweet nicknames. Their go to for reactions are baby(boy), sweetheart and bottom

Shameless PDA when Sal is jealous. Travis learns the hard way how easy it is to make him jealous when a hand is in his waist and holding him close to the shorter. Fingers tracing any exposed skin to keep Travis focused on him. Sorry Lar, you took up too much Travis time..

Travis’ mom being an absolute babe. Apple if her eye is her sweet boy. Probably passed while he was young and had to watch him grow in that unhealthy environment.. maybe reaches out to Sal for help since he’s more intuitive. Def terrifies Larry a couple times as a prank. He hit her son, bully or not, it just felt right to braid his hair to his bed post a couple times and paint his nasty thoughts on his chest.

Travis hates surprises and loud noises because of his father. They don’t learn that until they throw a surprise birthday party with cheering and loud pops of confetti balloons, his panic attack damn near gave him a heart attack. (He refused to accept apologies for something they didn’t know. Instead demanding they spoil him for the rest of the week as compensation for his hospital trip on his birthday)

I said it once, and I’ll say it again. Service. Animals. Mr. Phelps legally obligated to give him a service animal and Travis is somewhat saved from Kenneth's abuse. Taking more time outside for walks (the dog can’t bare letting Travis stay in the house for long with his father home). He genuinely bonds with other students over his new dog (the dog allowing contact when not in uniform but if Travis’ needs are present will attach itself to Travis’ hip.

Religious trauma and coping. Because PLS, can we please address the amount of abuse because of the Bible?? That boy may stay and follow the proper words of his lord. Or he could detach himself from the church entirely (especially because of the cult!)

Travis ships: Salvis and Larvis

Asked out: Oh. Oh no. How did they fall for Travis?!? What did they do to find that feral little kitten so cute?? Was it they dyed hair? The dresses when he shows off more legs than they anticipated? Him apologizing and changing for the better?? What happened to him to make him so interesting!? Sal absolutely starts approaching Travis cautiously. Taken aback when he's greeted with a warm smile and compliments. They start to grow as friends and spend time together often. Sharing eachother with their friend groups and on their own. It takes a couple of years before Sal nervously asks Travis if he would be interested in getting closer. Travis doesn't understand and Sal just awkwardly blurts out if he would try dating him... for an experiment or anything. Travis is excited, he wants to be closer and happily hugs onto Sal as his answer.

Larry is a lot ore aggressive. Cornering Travis and glaring down at him. Demanding to know what his game is. Travis doesn't fight he just nervously asks if Larry hates him. Larry almost says he does but gets distracted by the trembling and cowering kitten before him. Fuck, he can't possibly hate Travis. Larry instead starts approaching Travis. At first Travis is afraid that Larry will hit him if he doesn't like something he does. Larry hates to admit it, but Travis infested his mind. Dreams were no longer sacred when teenage hormones and a new love interest were involved. Many a times he had to look away when Travis were a particular skirt or dress because his dreams seemed to run rampant with those items. When they finally talk, Travis initiates it. He Pushes Larry into a bathroom stall and demands he explain himself. He's staring at him like a piece of meat and following him around. Larry is scaring HIS friends. Larry doesn't even hesitate to pounce on Travis. Mouth to mouth and hands on ass. Travis surprised but kinda into it allows the kiss until Larry gets too handsy. He returns to his friends with an angry red hand print on his cheek. It takes a month of apologizing Travis finally agrees to give Larry a chance. (Larry tells his mom and dances around the apartment that night)

First kiss failures: Larry got too into the kiss and starts feeling up the poor boy. Sal pecks him in his sleep and never tells Travis. He just happily holds the memory of kissing his sleeping princess.

First dates: Larry tries to show Travis the fun things to do in this sleepy little town. Travis is excited just to go anywhere other than church and school. At first there are a few hiccups, maybe weather, maybe places are crowded or cancelled. But it still ends well with the boys passed out in the truck, snuggled under a blanket Larry stores with a big smile on their face. Sal is much more romantic. Candles and flowers. Dresses up nice and styles his hair in a neat bun. He wants to impress Travis and assert he can be the man for him by presenting more masculine (Travis snorts and tells him even in a dress Sal could fight a bear). Its a simple dinner at home with Gizmo as their lazy server, sleeping on the couch in a little suit. The night ends well with the boys enjoying a night stroll and admiring the calm and almost desolate surroundings of Nockfell.

First Times: Sal does NOT expect Travis to offer it. In fact, he almost shattered his favorite mug with the tight grip he put on it. Travis thinks this means Sal doesn't want him, but no nono, Sal wants it/ He wants Travis bad. That simp wastes no time scurrying to their room, cleaning his bed and all necessary items are prepared. He was well stocked for... college purposes, but Travis offering to give Sal his first?? (Yes. He did a victory dance and scream in the tree house when he thought he was alone.)

First Time: Larry would waste no time, grabbing Travis and making sure, this is what he wants. Larry may sleep around before they got together but he would never expect Travis to offer his first time so soon. Travis agreeing and Larry in tears hugging onto the confused man. He has never been so gentle with a partner and savored every second, sound and action. It may not have been Larry's first but he was more than happy to say it was his best. Larry would 100% scream to Sal about it later though. He is a man that appreciates his partner and would be an aftercare fiend. Relishing in any reactions Travis gives him while massages and treats the poor tired bum.

Living together: Hell hath no fury like Travis on cleaning day. The boys no not to be in his way if he has his cleaning apron and swiffer. The only one allowed to interrupt his most sacred day is Gizmo and any animals they adopt. Larry has to moderate his metal music or sleep on the porch, he tried to test Travis and found the porch uncomfortable during a rainstorm. No ghost hunting after 11pm. If you even think Travis will allow you in the house after hunting ghosts he will promptly pack your bags and ship them off to your parents. Sal has his own room dedicated entirely to clothes and accessories. His prosthetics he tries to hide at first but after a harsh scolding from Travis (while he literally hand cleans every single prosthetic so Sal doesn't get an infection) Sal starts putting them away where he feels comfortable and clean. They don't expect Travis to be semi nude half the time. Especially before they marry and start a family, no pants. Never wearing pants. Larry hams up the free skin. Sal is too embarrassed of his sinful thoughts.

Proposals: Travis would be terrified of marriage after what happened to his mother. If they were to propose they ould make sure he is fully comfortable and settled in their new life. They would make sure he is loved and never feels any of the fear his father had instilled in him. Larry mentions marriage in passing to gauge his reaction. Ig Travis tenses, he kills the conversation and instead distracts Travis. If Travis reacts positively he would sneak a ring on his finger and just smirk until Travis realizes and smiles. Sal =, however, is sneaky. Keeping close tabs on Travis. If Travis starts showing signs of interest, he would 100% plan the biggest proposal for Travis and make sure he feels cherished during every moment.

Fjorester in the Bjreaus talk

It’s yelling about Fjorester hours. I haven’t done this breakdowns in a while but there’s so much to analyze in that Bjreau’s talk and so much subtext and admissions and feelings in Fjord’s explanations that I really need to go step by step

this is mostly focused on the Fjorester side of the conversation because so many people have already broken down the BY in it and maybe i will too later but for now let me focus on my main OTP because wow

And then, right there after the nod to his death, Jester comes back into the statement. Fjord describes the changes and turmoil in his life like all of that is already too much to also focus on love… and then says but she’s still there, in my mind, by my side, all the time. In that mess of these pasts few months, Jester is his lighthouse

He took losing in a game badly and reacted even worse, the reaction to that was so bad that even I know most of the details even tho I haven't logged into Twitter in weeks. TAZ Grad Thoughts (#2)

-  the dodgeball scene had a strong BOB Initiation Battle vibe to it with all the names and numbers flying around, and I had some trouble following along with all the characters. It’ll be interesting to see what Travis’ battles turn out like after he’s had some experience in making them more cinematic. A+ concept for a minigame tho.

- this being said Travis continues to be The Most Endearing and def was taking the reviews on the last episode seriously because he’s slowed down the dialogue and really diversified the voices (see Festo as Amelie/Elmo, that rad kenku stealth teacher) and that helped me follow along so much better

- actually can we take a hot second to appreciate all the homebrewing and messing with mechanics Trav is doing for this game?? Like remember how the boys said in the last TTAZZ that they hadn’t used the rules of D&D to their full capacity? Our new uncle T Man not only is paying attention to the mechanics but making shit up and working it in while still following the guidelines. like props to the rest of the squad because they’re also playing things by the book with their characters (see Firbolgs Don’t Have Names and Barbarians With Magic Is An Actual Class) but Travis is handling this with absolute finesse

- look I went into a panic just listening to Travis say mathematical words expectantly so having our resident firbolg losing him gotdamn mind at large numbers and capitalist concepts was a Mood And A Half, loved the range of emotion his voice went through, howled with laughter, 900/10 relatable experience

- “What’s wrong with that dog?!” + *drops crab and walks away* = Fitz Has Never Owned A Pet In His Life Send Tweet

- I knew there was a heartbreaking backstory behind that handlebar mustache. side note: I love this boost in Argo screentime and his constant mix of sarcasm and honesty. when is he being genuine? always?? never??? an enigma.

- Travis is SCREAMING queer rights with his nonbinary characters and canonical husband teachers and I adore him for it. The Adventure Zone is the only media I can fucking trust

- the boss gets a dog, you get a crab, every room gets a phantasmal cat, this is PET CENTRAL and the god is TRAVIS

- I’m living for how far this family has come in storytelling. Early on in Balance Griffin had to drag his players into each new scene and plot point, and they were just like “we’re gonna dick around here until you push us onward” but now they’re all actively side-DMing by purposely creating conflict (Bud in accounting, Fitz on the fritz, Honest Argo). They’ve all done such a good job letting Trav have the space to play with concepts and learn what works for him as a DM, but they aren’t relying on him to do all the work. this is how you tabletop game.

- Maple Syrup @ friends: it was a mistake they didn’t kick me out  Maple Syrup @ an unstable party fae he just met who def can’t keep a secret: I turned my teacher into a codfish during a finale exam and am immensely upset that my dreams of knighthood have been shot down also I’m lonely

- Griffin already has a strong handle on his boy’s personality tho and I love one (1) barbarian dud who doesn’t understand humour and can’t not correct people on his name he is a Giant Dweeb and I want him to see him grow up happy and supported

- loved that folly work with the bar (even tho I thought I was hearing things at first), that def added ambiance. side note: the space the boys are getting to just banter with each other is doing wonders for their characters and the dynamic between them, and I am living for it. those long scenes of chatter between actual plot are incredibly important for establishing who characters are and why we as listeners should like them, and I’m so glad Travis is giving them ample room to do it

- I know some people were iffy about the split party scenes in Amnesty but honestly I think they give individual characters so much room to grow into themselves and I am absolutely here for the way Trav’s worked that opportunity into the classes. he built up the world and its mechanics organically within the monologue of the accounting teacher and made it work and I respect this boy so much for his already powerful plotbuilding skills

- only improvement on this TAZ train hell yeah middlest brother

i think the place where tazg fails in comparison to the other seasons is stakes and agency. I think the point where it really fell off it’s horse is when the ‘students are getting brainwashed/losing time’ thing turned out to be a false alarm. That arc felt interesting and engaging and suspenseful as the players slowly found out something was wrong and tried to figure out what to do about it, and it is resolved with “actually the guy doing this got consent from all these students! and then made them forget they gave consent! no we’re not going to check up on any of them except for the firbolg just trust him. also, have this infodump about what the /actual/ conflict is” and when fitzroy genuinely doesnt trust or want to listen to higglemas he’s like, “I Will Mind Erase You If You Dont Do Exactly As I Say” higglemas is totally both nonthreatening and trustworthy tho! Everyone says so! 

the next thing that comes to mind is the conflict with the commodore: the boys definitively manage to defeat this miniboss before he can actually become a threat and travis busts in the door deus ex machina style like, “No! I Absolutely Will Not give up even A Little Bit of my plans, you do have to fight this guy later and nothing you did here tonight actually matters beyond what i already planned for you to do” and like, everything the players do seems so inconsequential when clearly they are not allowed to diverge from what travis has planned even a little. the first exciting moment of the show in so long was the end of this last episode when the players finally made a decision that diverged from expectations that wasn't immediately shut down, and i really hope travis doesnt shut it down later. this story still has the potential to be good even though its slogged along for so long, but travis has to give the players genuine options and genuine risks

Mmmm, I tend to fuck around a lot on youtube bc I don’t tend to stick to one thing. But usually, I stick by Overly Sarcastic Productions bc they are absolutely amazing at what they do. Aside from them, I tend to watch anything involving animals, such as “Animal meets (SOMETHING) for first time!” and animal surgery vids, if that makes sense?
