Parallels between Maya and the Three and El Tigre

As most of fans know,Jorge Gutierrez has confirmed that all of his works take place in the same universe.So it comes to no surprise when the audience notices recurring characters or motives,and El Tigre with Maya and the Three are no exception.Thanks to design sheets mainly found by @screenshoteltigre we can see what connects these two shows.

Giant-monster-skeleton-thingy

Let’s start with El Tigre concept art(above),which depicts a skeleton giant similar to the one Sartana summoned in the 18th episode(as it was commented by @fly-chicken under one of my posts;pic below).Although it’s not certain whenever the design is final or if they’re even the same monster,but considering that bones are mostly associated with Sartana of the Dead,it is safe to say that the creature is connected to her.Now,here’s the Maya and the Three concept art featuring a bone monster Mictlan summoned during the final battle against the main characters(mentioned by @lunaislandcitizen under one of my posts):

Looks familiar ?

This might hit at Santana’s relation to Mictlan,since she is the daughter of Xibalba and La Muerte.

Mictlan and …Mikla?

Here we have an antagonist that never made into El Tigre series due to it’s cancellation by Nickelodeon.Right off the bat we can notice the name similarity to the certain god of war,as well as Miklas ability to raise the “forgotten dead” with his skeleton hand,something that Mictlan did at the last fight against all kindoms.

Also,there is another concept art of Mikla where he seemingly transformed into giant serpent monster,something that Mictlan had also done:

Now,it is very possible that Jorge Gutierrez took certain characteristics from this character and applied them to Mictlan,taking into account the time period between El Tigre and Maya and the Three.But if not,then we might have another follower of Mictlan that decided to take revenge on the reincarnations of Maya and Zatz.

On SNW and Chapel/Spock....

Baby, I haven't seen such negatory chemistry since Crane and his wife on the accursed Sleepy Hollow. Like WOW. And the worst thing about it is that they both have more chemistry with literally EVERYONE ELSE except each other...I cannot.

I'd rather anyone else be with either one than those two. I am the gritted teeth emoji every time they have screentime together.

Also, WTF at NO queer ships at all??? Ortegas/Chapel or Uhura/Chapel would make more sense. I actually like Spock/T'Pring for now.

Yea exactly, people like to think that paleolithic people solely did art in caves when it's just that that's where the art survives best. They weren't living in the caves, the caves were dark and dangerous [and that was part of what made them so important, in many painted caves, the art isn't in the entrance chamber that got any light, its all deeper where it would have been totally dark]

We do see examples of art in living areas! Shallow rock shelters carved with bas reliefs of horses, caves decorated with phallic shapes. The fact that those that survive are relief sculptures and engravings might indicate that paintings were also present, just worn away. Who knows, aurignacian people maybe really preferred wood as their canvas and none of it survives. Surely they drew in sand and with their fingers in clay.

I have issues with people saying that 'it's so dumb that people say it's all ritual shit, what if they were just drawing for fun!' Like. I'm sure they did draw for fun! But personally, I'd rather draw in the sand or on the rock shelter instead of risking the dark cave with c02 seepage that is also a favorite hibernation place for cave bears. They clearly were going to the cave for a reason other than Just to doodle and have fun

There are other caves that show signs of play. Of children being taught. Children lifted up on shoulders to mark the ceiling. Toddlers' hands being guided along. Etc etc etc. But there must have been some reason for people to go into the caves

“Take it as a compliment,” Seth suggests as he opens a bottle of beer and hands it to Kate. The bottle is cold as hell, and Seth’s fingers feel extra warm in comparison when Kate brushes against them with her own. “Maybe people are dying to learn your skincare routine, but they’re too shy to ask.”

“Oh, I’m sticking to the Dracula: Dead and Loving It technique, not everyone can afford that…”

“Like you used to look oh-so-mature before, Big Brother.”

“It’s not about Richie looking younger,” says Kate, warming her bottle between her knees. Richie is already chugging his beer with all the carelessness of someone who doesn’t have to worry about catching a cold or any other diseases of the mortals. Seth is chugging his with all the indifference of someone who doesn’t give a shit if he catches a cold or not. “It’s about you looking older.”

“She’s right, Seth,” Richie observes merrily and reaches out to ruffle his brother’s hair. Seth pushes his hand away without looking. “Hey, you’re already going grey a little bit.”

“And whose fucking fault is it that I’m already going grey, Richard?”

“I think that’s genetics.”

“I think no one’s hit you with a bottle opener for quite a while,” Seth waves that very opener eloquently, but he doesn’t try to stop Richie from touching his hair anymore, which the latter proceeds to do. Kate cannot help smiling when she looks at them, but a mild sort of sadness scratches at her heart at the same time. She misses Scott. She misses the times when she wasn’t scared to touch people first, remembering the way her touch – no, not hers, but still that of her hands, that of her body – used to suck out their strength, will, and soul. Never mind, she tells herself, and finally dares to take a sip of that icy beer, never mind. At least now she has her gloves.

At most now, she has her hope.

It might just be me but I don’t see Rico and Chimi as parents like,ever.I know that it’s canon now that they had children together post-time skip but they would’ve rocked the vibe of chaotic aunt/uncle who live either on the outskirts of the Luna Island or deep in the jungles and who do shit ton of dangerous things (be it protecting the kindoms from the outside forces,experimenting with magic or trying to fight off puma with bare hands).Meanwhile Eagle and Jaguar are in awe of what these two are doing and often beg their parents to go see the Skull Archer and Rooster Wizard. I just KNOW that Rico gifted the Maya siblings explosives at least once,while Chimi tried to teach them how to swim amongst crocodiles.
