Like there is no fucking way someone read The Raven and actually came to the conclusion that it was about how Poe liked ravens, right? RIGHT?!?!

It is not humanly possible to be so wrong about this poem. Even leaving aside the symbolism (HOW????) you still have to get the understanding the narrator fucking HATES that bird.

A police officer stops a car driving erratically in the middle of night in the streets of Vale. He approaches the vehicle as the driver proceeded to roll the window down.

Officer: "Sir, have you been drinking tonight?"

We see a nineteen year old Qrow in the drivers seat, and a beer can materializes in his hands as he cracks it open in front of the officers face.

Qrow: "Not yet Officer."

The officer stares blankly at the now opened beer can, before he calmly addressed Qrow.

Officer: "...Sir, I'm going to need you to step out of the car."

Taiyang, who was sitting in the passenger seat and doing his best to tend to over a thoroughly drunken Summer and Raven, both of whom were black, blue, and red all over after being goaded into a Branwen "Claim" match over Tai by Qrow(not that Tai knew it at the time) could only balk in horror before palming his face in annoyance.

Tai: "GOD DAMNIT QROW!"

Twentyish years later...

Jaune Arc, who was sitting in the passenger seat and doing his best to tend to over a thoroughly drunken Ruby and Yang, both of whom were black, blue, and red all over after being goaded into a Branwen "Claim" match over Jaune by Qrow(though Jaune very much knew, and could only watch in shock and horror at the savage beating the two gave each other) could only balk in horror before palming his face in annoyance.

Another chapter of that Leblanc/Raven fic I've been writing. In which Don Whitehorse is the trolliest fuckin' troll who has ever trolled, and Schwann gets invited to dinner and treated like a human being.

Thoughts on Violets

I’ve been thinking about violets a lot and how they’re presented/interacted with on Alternia as well as how it relates to the role that they serve in the empire. They’re the second highest class with only two people in the entire empire above them, they’re royalty and occupy some of the highest and most influential roles in society, but beyond their traits there is something that really stood out to me about them. 

Everyone universally just seems to really fucking hate them.

And why wouldn’t you? They’re sea dwellers, a weird hybrid of “get off my lawn” mixed with some of the snobbiest rich kids imaginable. There is a clear disdain for them as a product of the hemospectrum, with them looking down on those below them and being resented for their behavior and power in turn. However, what really gets me is how openly despised they are. Lynera, a troll who I read as more conservative, interestingly immediately jumps to dislike/suspicion of sea dwellers for her excuse in her route. Accidental fish pun that she latches onto and her admitting she didn’t actually believe that aside, I feel like her specifically grabbing onto it and running with it does show that this is reflective of a broader sentiment and you see that this is further supported by comments made by other trolls. This seems to be somewhat unique as there are other highblood classes, but they still don’t get the same level of targeted, almost universal negative sentiment.     

And when this sentiment has been shared, people don’t specifically state violets, they say sea dwellers because when you complain about sea dwellers, you’re not really complaining about all sea dwellers. You’re complaining about violets specifically, because if you’re not, then you’re shit talking the Heiress and Empress and that doesn’t go well. Despite that, it seems to be fairly accepted to shit talk them and the terms are used fairly interchangeably and I believe there is a purpose in that aside from creating the most hostile environment possible for everyone. I think this dislike of sea dwellers is encouraged to an extent as it makes them a “safer” (a term I am using very fucking loosely here) target to point frustrations at in comparison to the the fuschias. 

I feel as though this is encouraged and welcomed in some way because fostering this us versus them mentality serves to further align violets with the fuchsias and discourage any sort of alliance with land dwellers which could threaten that and keeps a high caste allied close with fuschias in a way that purples aren’t.

i have a suspicion that the reason on why lilia's form is a similar to a teenager is that he's trying to conserve his last energy cause he is weak on magic at the moment and also him being a very old fae he could be nearing his end but i hope not

this is just me rambling and a response would be greatly appreciated the lore in the game just makes me drool and its hard for me to research more since im not an actual twisted wonderland player cause its available in my country i just love the game and the lore in it

Ooh, that’s an interesting idea 🤔 I think a lot of us (myself included) suspected that Lilia took on a more youthful appearance to better pass as a high school student at NRC, but given the new information provided by episode 7… Going with a smaller form could very well be a practical decision to conserve his waning magic, especially seeing as Lilia said his magic was already diminishing long before Silver and Sebek’s birth granted, of course, that he’s not pulling the wool over our eyes about his magic fading.
