Hell yeah automatic renewal on my library book
#I'm only half way through#turns out taking detailed notes takes a damn long time#especially when you're essentially transcribing the entire book into a bullet point format#girl i need this information and the book has to go back so I'm writing the whole damn thing down#plus it helps me actually absorb the information when i have to read every sentence 2-3 times and also write it myself#learning about the neuroscience of human communication 👍#having actual mechanical knowledge of complicated concepts like my own consciousness makes it easier to troubleshoot and resolve issues#it's like “hey when you're experiencing this emotion here's what's happening and why and how you can slowly change that reaction”#i wasn't born with the intuitive understanding of emotional connection allistic people apparently have#but I've always been a powerhouse in the classroom#i have full confidence in my ability to absorb information and to learn to apply it appropriately in various situations#i have the pattern recognition to tell when someone's feeling a way with pretty good accuracy#Chinese dramas are really good for studying facial expressions and emotion because they do a lot of acting with their eyes#my main problem is not having the mirror neurons that simulate the emotions of other people in my own brain#so i have the information and i understand what it means#but i also can't help thinking it's odd to feel that way because only the data comes across and not the emotion itself#but if i get a detailed enough understanding of human behavior i think i can make up for that#and with enough applied effort over time i might be able to build those networks in my own brain on purpose#bc it's not like I'm fully missing them#when someone in a show or book is sad i do cry#but i think my defenses are up too high in person to let anything through#i have noticed increased understanding and something like empathy developing lately#still not feeling the feelings but i can recognize and accommodate them which is a lot better than i used to be

Divination Troubleshooting
One of the more difficult aspects of divination, I think, is working out what to do when things don’t work the way they’re supposed to. When you’ve done everything technically right, there’s a chance you still won’t get answers that you can interpret, that make sense, or that are correct. If you have an occasional problem with divination, that’s totally normal — nothing will work 100% of the time. But when it happens consistently, it might be time to do a little troubleshooting.
This post is far from a complete list of possible problems. I’ve spent many years trying (and failing at) different forms of divination, so these are things I’ve personally run into and the things I consider when troubleshooting.
The basic format of this post is the form of problem, a short description of what the problem looks like, possible causes for the problem, and multiple suggested solutions for each cause. These recommendations are fairly general and non-exhaustive. You may find that you need to employ multiple solutions before the problem resolves, and you may find that none of these proposed solutions solve the issue you’re having. Some listed problems are specific to a particular tool, but most are applicable to more than one type.
Sometimes, determining the cause of your issue can be difficult. It can take a good amount of discernment to figure out, so don’t feel discouraged if you can’t fix the problem on the first try!
Unclear Answers
You’ve drawn your cards, cast your charms, selected your runes, and… it makes no sense, or maybe the answers you receive are too vague to be useful.
Cause: Lack of practice or familiarity with the tool Solutions:
Perform practice readings with the tool
Study the guidebook, if you have one, to determine whether there are additional meanings to glean
Look up potential alternate meanings to the individual cards/runes, or consider another perspective (Three of Swords not always meaning heartbreak, for example)
Ask for a second opinion by taking a picture of the reading and sending it to like-minded practitioners who would be willing to help you interpret
Request a reading from a more seasoned diviner to confirm the information you’re able to glean from your own reading (if you do this, I would suggest letting them know that you’re seeking clarity from a divination you did for yourself)
Cause: No thoughts, head empty (brain fog, sudden blanking, fatigue, etc.) Solutions:
Set it aside and come back to it later with fresh eyes
Do grounding or energizing exercises before redoing the divination
Take care of your mundane needs (drink water, eat something, sleep, take medicines, go outside/get fresh air, etc.) and then return to it
Ask for a second opinion
Write down what you can understand and return to it later to check your interpretation and/or reinterpret it
Cause: The question was poorly worded, or you’re asking the wrong question Solutions:
Reword the question
Ask a different question related to the situation
Consider whether the answer given is to another question or another facet of the situation
Ask the tool, spirits, deities, etc. what you should be focusing on, if not the question you’re asking
Ask follow-up questions to clarify specifics
Cause: The tool isn’t suited to the question you’re asking Solutions:
Try a different tool
Reword the question to suit the tool better
Request a reading from someone else (if you only use one type of tool)
Cause: Stagnant energy is lingering on or around the tool Solutions:
Cleanse the tool and any containers you keep the tool in
Reshuffle, shake, etc. thoroughly before attempting to divine again
Allow the tool to “rest” so it can “cool off” and lose some of the stuck-on energy
Cause: Missing context or information Solutions:
Write down what you can understand for now and come back in a few days/weeks to see if it makes more sense
Walk away and come back to it in an hour to see if new details come to mind
Work on phrasing your questions to account for information you don’t actively know
Cause: One single card is standing out, not meshing with the rest of the reading Solutions:
Let the querent know it’s a confusing card, explain what it typically means, and allow them to offer clarification or possible meanings to it
Decide ahead of time what you will do with cards like this and what they could possibly mean, so that when they come up, you can seamlessly deal with them
Disregard the rogue card entirely
Allow the card to stand on its own, almost like a separate reading within the existing reading; redraw for the position if doing a spread
Consider alternative or unorthodox meanings to the card, especially if it’s in an odd position in a spread:
The card may be referring to another question or situation; if so, set it aside and consider doing a separate divination with that card as a focus
The card may indicate a particular person; determine who it may be and what their impact is on the overall situation
The card may be a message from a spirit, related or unrelated to the situation; set it aside and consider doing a separate divination to see the full message
The card may indicate an unexpected element, upheaval, discomfort, or mismatched priorities; the interpretation largely depends on the card and position
Wrong Answers
You thought you had it, but the divination ended up being completely wrong. One time is normal, but consistently very wrong divinations are less so.
Cause: Lack of practice or familiarity with the tool Solutions:
Perform practice readings, either with actual questions, hypothetical scenarios, or no prompt at all to work on weaving meanings together and identifying messages/symbolism
Ask others if you can practice your divination with them to get more practical experience
Study the guidebook (if there is one) or other guides and articles on the tool to determine whether you missed a meaning, theme, or detail that would have made the reading more accurate
Study how you asked the question, performed the divination, and interpreted the output to see what may have gone wrong, if anything
Cause: The tool you’re using isn’t suited to you Solutions:
Try a different type of tool
If using tarot or oracle cards, try a deck with different imagery
If using tarot, try a deck based on a different system (Thoth vs. Rider-Waite-Smith, for example)
Cause: You’ve asked the same question too many times in a short period, and now the readings are so muddied nothing is accurate Solutions:
Take a break from divining on the question or topic
Consider the answers you’ve already gotten and determine which is the likeliest to be true (or untrue)
Ask a different question
Cause: Misleading or incorrect phrasing and information from the querent Solutions:
Clarify the situation with the querent
Before beginning the divination, let the querent know that they need to be honest with you or results may not be correct
Rephrase the question or prompt to be more honest about the situation
Cause: Blockages or disruption between you and the divination target Solutions:
Ask the querent to temporarily allow you through their protections
Cast a spell to break through the barrier/blockage before trying the divination again (note that if the barrier is a purposeful protection against prying eyes, there may be consequences to busting through)
Request spirit assistance with breaking through the blockage
Ground yourself and clear away any blockages or reluctance within yourself to see and understand the truth
Accept that the target person doesn’t want you divining about them
Cause: The question was poorly worded for the tool you’re using Solutions:
Try a different tool better suited to the type of question you’re asking (pendulums for yes/no, magpie oracle for general life readings, tarot for advice, etc.)
Reword the question to suit the tool
Practice asking better divination questions overall (proper wording, understanding the tool’s capabilities, etc.)
Conflicting Answers
When you do separate readings on the same topic and get different answers, it can be confusing! Which one do you believe? Which will actually come true?
Cause: You’ve asked the same question too many times Solutions:
Take a break from divining on the topic or question
Consider the answers you’ve already gotten and determine which is the likeliest to be true (or untrue)
Ask something else, either relating to the situation or not
Cause: Circumstances have changed radically since you last divined on the situation Solutions:
Divine on what’s changed and how it’s caused the shift
If the change is undesirable, ask how you can get back on track to the future you want
Compare the readings to see if you can determine the links between them
Cause: The future is mutable, and there are separate, very different possibilities branching out around the situation Solutions:
Divine about the causes of each outcome already gathered to see what’s causing the vast difference in readings
If there are many people involved, do smaller, more specific divinations to determine their impact on the future
Accept that you may not get to know the future perfectly
Ask instead how you can attain the future you actually want, rather than what may happen
Always Exhausted Afterwards
After doing divination, you feel absolutely drained of energy. Whether that’s physical, emotional, or spiritual energy, when it happens often, it can be discouraging and make you want to never do divination again!
Cause: Your energy is depleting naturally Solutions:
Do smaller divinations
Only perform one divination in a single sitting, rather than attempting several back to back
Request assistance from spirits to boost your own energy or borrow theirs for the reading
Eat a nourishing meal beforehand and have a snack afterwards
Cause: The querent, tool, spirits, etc., involved are draining your energy Solutions:
Bolster your area’s protections with a focus on keeping your energy to yourself
Wear something like a veil or other protective clothing, jewelry, or accessories during the divination to prevent the drain
Do a grounding exercise beforehand to center your focus and keep your energy to yourself
Pause the divination if you start feeling yourself draining to refresh and protect your energy
If working with spirits which are draining you as part of a deal (whether spoken or unspoken), make a physical offering instead of an energetic one
Practice energy work to learn how to better contain your energy so that it isn’t as free for the taking
Cause: You didn’t have the energy to begin with, but divined anyways Solutions:
Request a reading from a trusted source
Seek ways to boost your energy before beginning
Take care of your mundane needs before performing divination (eat something, drink water, take a nap, get some fresh air)
Spirits Aren’t Coming Through or Assisting
You’ve invited spirits to the table, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve got a hand in the divination results you’re getting.
Cause: You haven’t made an offering equivalent in value to what you’re asking for Solutions:
Set out an offering before starting if you haven’t already
Determine what the spirits might want other that what you’ve already offered
Offer something more personalized to the particular spirit
Make a sacrifice, rather than a simple offering (give up the last cookie, lay a piece of meaningful jewelry on their altar, etc.)
Cause: The spirits think you aren’t ready to know the answers you’re looking for Solutions:
Seek answers from another source
Wait a while and try again later
Ask a different question
Cause: The spirits you’re trying to contact aren’t immediately available/answering Solutions:
Call on the spirits before you start divining and let them know what you’re doing and why
Perform the divination at their sacred space, if possible
If working in an animist sense, “wake up” or “activate” your deck’s spirit in some way before beginning (knocking, speaking to it, etc.)
Cause: Another spirit is interrupting Solutions:
Ask the intruding spirit to back off (for now or forever, that’s up to you)
Perform a banishing if the spirit is unwelcome and will not leave when asked
Find out what the interrupting spirit wants and either decline or fulfill their request
End the divination and come back to it later on
Pendulum Won’t Swing Consistently
The pendulum swings willy-nilly with little to no rhyme or reason, providing no clear answers.
Cause: The cord, chain, string, or other material isn’t long enough Solutions:
Replace it with a longer cord, chain, string, etc.
Use a different pendulum
Create your own pendulum using a length of string (or twine, etc.) and a crystal, stone, pendant, coin, or other relatively heavy item
Cause: The pendulum itself isn’t heavy enough, or it’s an uneven shape Solutions:
Replace the pendulum with a pointed stone, crystal, or piece of glass Thread other, heavier beads, charms, crystals, stones, etc., onto the pendulum’s cord/chain
Cause: Your source for answers isn’t working with you Solutions:
If working based on your own intuition, do a grounding exercise and try again
If working with spirits, make an offering or see whether the spirits are present before trying again
Cause: There’s a breeze making it swing Solutions:
Wait until the wind dies down
Move indoors to try again
Close windows, turn off fans, and turn off air conditioners in the immediate area
Cause: The energy in your area is causing interference Solutions:
Perform a cleansing of the area to clear out excess energy
Banish any rogue spirits hanging around who are messing with the pendulum on purpose
Perform a ritual to calm the energy around you, like soothing a storm or lulling the wind to sleep for the duration of your divination
Keep Dropping Cards
Dropping your whole deck of cards may be an issue with grip strength, clumsiness, or joint bendiness… or, it may be a sign of an underlying issue or message.
Cause: The deck is too large or cumbersome to hold and shuffle easily Solutions:
Try another, smaller deck of tarot cards
Try a deck with standard card shapes (round or very large cards are personally super hard to shuffle neatly)
Ignore jumping or dropped cards, and only take cards you consciously draw
Cause: The shuffle itself is difficult Solutions:
Try another method of shuffling
Practice shuffling with regular playing cards, then with the deck you want to be using (this makes a fun fidget while watching shows)
If all shuffling is difficult, spread out the cards on a flat surface and mix them together before putting them back into a pile and drawing accordingly
Cause: The spirit(s) you’re communicating with don’t want to provide answers right now Solutions:
Provide an offering or payment for services rendered (especially if you haven’t in a while)
Take a break and try again later
Investigate the root cause of their reluctance and plan accordingly
Never Feels “Right” to Stop Shuffling or to Pull a Card
You’re shuffling. And shuffling. And… shuffling. You’re waiting for a sign to stop and pull cards, and it just never comes.
Cause: Your brain and/or intuitive thinking is exhausted Solutions:
Take a break from divination and other magical practices
Do a grounding exercise to reconnect with your intuitive thoughts and try again
Replenish your energy by eating something, drinking water, having a nap, and otherwise taking care of your mundane needs before trying again
Cause: You aren’t meant to know the answer to the question you’ve asked Solutions:
Ask a different, related question to see if you can get answers
Try again in a few days
Try a different divination tool (different tools can provide different answers with varying levels of detail)
Failing troubleshooting, accept that you can’t know everything that’s ahead and simply plan accordingly (magically and mundanely)
Cause: Blockage between you and the target of the question Solutions:
Cast a spell to break through the barrier/blockage before trying the divination again (note that if the barrier is a purposeful protection against prying eyes, there may be consequences to busting through)
Determine whether there are missing details about the situation that may help break through
Request spirit intervention to get around the blockage
Ground yourself and clear away any blockages or reluctance within yourself to see and understand the truth
Accept that the target person doesn’t want you to divine about them
If the reading is about a situation, a spell of “true seeing” or clarity may help
Cause: The querent isn’t being fully honest about their question (misleading phrasing, leaving out information that would impact the reading) Solutions:
Clarify the situation with the querent
If divining for yourself, consider all facets of the situation and question before rewording it more clearly and honestly
Talk or journal about the situation before beginning to get as much information as possible
Cause: The spirits you rely on for divination have declined to provide answers Solutions:
Ask why they aren’t answering
Try again later
Try another divination tool
Use another source for answers, such as the universe on the whole or your own deeper intuitive self
Reword the question to be more specific or general, depending
Cause: Something about the cards or shuffle themselves isn’t right Solutions:
Try another shuffle/pull method (spread out cards and pull at random, create piles and take the top of each, etc.)
Try a different deck of cards
Try another type of divination tool
Give the deck a cleanse
Look for a way to “wake up” or “activate” the cards
Too Many Jumpers
Even if you read tarot like I do with all jumpers, having a ton of cards leap out at once can be daunting — and even annoying, if it keeps happening consistently.
Cause: Your deck is too large for your hands, or it’s an odd shape (circular, non-standard number of cards, above-average card size, thick card stock) Solutions:
Try a deck with fewer cards or a more standard shape and paper weight
Create your own deck of cards that fits more securely in your hands
Try a digital deck of cards
Disregard jumping cards completely and only accept cards you’re pulling on purpose
Cause: More possibilities or details about the situation need to be brought to light than expected Solutions:
Try another spread to accommodate the jumpers
Ditch the spread altogether and read the cards as they fall instead
Treat the jumping cards as amendments or extra information about the card whose position you’re drawing for (for example, if drawing for a “Self” position and you get two jumpers before pulling your card in your usual fashion, the two jumpers modify the Official Card)
Cause: Spirits are interfering with the reading Solutions:
Cleanse the area or banish the offending spirits if they’re not ones you’ve welcomed into the space
Request that they chill the heck out and not throw any (or as many) jumping cards
Make an offering to quell their mischief
Pay attention to why they’re acting this way; if you’re not sure, ask for their reasons
Applicable to Now, Not Later
Your reading describes your situation as it is right now with perfect clarity, but it doesn’t reveal anything new or give insights into the future.
Cause: Your current talent lies in revealing the present Solutions:
Practice with readings explicitly about the immediate future
Practice targeting a specific moment in the future, such as a particular future month’s events
Fine-tune your questions to specifically request information you don’t know
Employ spirits or deities to expand your abilities to encompass the future
Try another tool or supplement your reading with another tool
Cause: The question or prompt is too open or general Solutions:
Ask a more specific, carefully worded question
Ask what you mean, rather than a general question around the situation (“What do I need to know about my relationship with X?” vs. “What do I need to know about my love life?”)
Cause: There will be little to no change in the timeframe you’re asking about Solutions:
Expand the range of time you’re asking about
Choose a time further in the future (next year instead of next month, for example)
Make an active choice to change the future if you’re dissatisfied with things as they appear to be now
Can’t Get into the “Right Headspace” for Divination
You’ve sat down and have your tools ready, but you just can’t get into the zone.
Cause: Your environment is distracting Solutions:
Move to a quieter location where you can focus more
Perform a grounding exercise to shut out distractions and focus on your divination
Wear headphones and play music that will help you focus (I suggest unobtrusive music without lyrics, so that it doesn’t impact your interpretations; personally, I use crackly fireside sounds over lo-fi beats)
Cause: Your environment isn’t inspiring you to get into the right headspace Solutions:
Create a space specifically for performing divination, whether permanent or temporary
Curate an aesthetic for your divination space with candles, crystals, plants, divination cloths, and other things that are meaningful to you
Go for a walk in a place that does inspire you and perform a divination there, if possible (cemeteries, parks, museums, rivers, etc.); if not possible to do divination there, absorb as much of the inspiring energy as you can and carry it back to your divination location
Cause: You don’t have the energy for it right now Solutions:
Focus on replenishing your energy with food, water, sleep, and other self-care tasks before divining
Request assistance from spirits to boost or borrow energy
Request a divination from someone else
Cause: You just aren’t in the mood for it Solutions:
Create a ritual that will help you get into your desired headspace for divination (putting on specific accessories, preparing your space, calling on spirits, etc.)
Request a divination from someone else
Walk away and come back to it when you feel more motivated
Scroll through others’ divination posts, watch a video, or listen to a podcast to get inspired to do your own divination
Conclusion
Again, there are countless possible issues and even further countless possible solutions to those issues. In general, walking away for a while, having a rest, practicing asking questions, and becoming more familiar with your tool over time will be the best tools in your belt. And if you can’t find a solution on your own, there’s no shame in crowdsourcing ideas for fixes! Ask your friends, your favorite witchy blogger, your Discord servermates, make a public post for others to comment on, or otherwise reach out. The best ideas often come from conversation.
Feel free to drop questions in the reblogs, replies, or my ask box if you’d like to ask me in particular about your divination troubles! I’m always happy to help out where I can. And if I’ve got no clue, one of my followers or mutuals might have a thought to share!
If you enjoyed this post or my other work, consider tossing a couple dollars in my tip jar! (And check out my commissions for custom spellwork and tarot readings!) Everything goes toward keeping me and my partner afloat on our bills, so it’s very much appreciated!

Whatever project you're too afraid to start, just go for it
I know a lot of my posts lately have been video/content creation-related but I just want to say:
The learning curve that I have had to climb in the past week alone has been both frustrating as hell and ridiculously rewarding.
Already, I had to refresh my memory on basic video editing and sound comping, but for the first seven episodes of my little series I’d accepted the average quality of my voice recording as cest la vie, I’m not sinking money into this without proof of concept, you’re supposed to be a little rough around the edges when you’re first starting out. But one thing I couldn’t get over was the clipping from some technobabble shenanigans with frequencies that isn’t important here.
What I thought was a quick fix—replace and double the RAM in my laptop—was absolutely not the source of the problem and suddenly I was in the deep end trying to fix broken audio in post while also troubleshooting an issue no one else seemed to have between my microphone and my recording software and I was about tempted to just use my desktop mic, the built-in, because at least I could somewhat fix that in post.
After far too many hours deep in discussions with strangers on the internet who were very helpful, I half-fixed the problem. My mic stopped clipping, but it was distorting pretty heavily between two different processers and my recording software hated it for a whole different reason.
Reluctant Plan B was to record gameplay live, but record audio separately/after and then sync them in post. If you’ve ever made a gaming video like these, you’re staring at probably 15+ clips of useable content over the course of recording sessions, which means 30+ clips with all the separately recorded audio, and since I can’t hit start/stop congruently with both programs, they would always be a little bit off, which meant more tedious editing.
Why? Because I was recording in Program A, fixing audio in Program B, and editing the video together in Program C, and Program C is for like, tiktoks, not professional youtube videos. I was only using it because I was already paying for it in an Adobe package with InDesign.
Enter DaVinci Resolve.
It’s like, Photoshop compared to MS Paint, a free one-stop-shop for video and audio editing (and visual effects, this thing is used to make blockbusters) and here’s me still confused by all these audio terms like ratio, attack, threshold, etc.
So I’m still wading through tutorials, all while my mic only works through Program B, Audacity, with an episode deadline looming over me. From the time I committed to initially fixing my audio by replacing the RAM, to episode release date, I had 6 days. Today is day 4.
And I’m still without a proper recording setup because Program A hates my microphone. But I am not missing this deadline, not just for the youtube algorithm, but because I know I can make it.
So episode 8, at the time of writing this, I have only 9 minutes and 25 seconds all edited and ready to go, out of 22-24 that I usually publish. So what have I done?
Fuckin’ taught myself DaVinci Resolve and committed to recording my vocal track in post just this once, doing it over and over again until it sounds as genuinely live as it can, and doing regular voiceover and music montages wherever else I can to fill the time with meaningful content.
All to buy myself time for my replacement mic to deliver so I can get back to proper live recordings, because at this point, the time it takes to fix terrible audio in post isn’t worth it, when I can spend a little bit of money for a mic that isn’t 8 years old and is built for gaming, not podcasting (but I am keeping the problem child as a backup, because it’s not broken).
I’m waiting for a timelapse to render while I write this, staring at a workflow with one video source and 3 different audio layers—game sound, vocals, and music—and I can almost turn my brain off when trimming things because that part I already know how to do.
This thing is a mess, to be clear, but it sure as hell won’t look like a mess when I hit publish on time two days from now.
But like…. 3 weeks ago I knew next to none of this, beyond basic video editing I learned back in college. And here I am with my double-wide monitor up and professional video making software quietly churning along in the background.
So just—if you want to do it? Go fuckin’ do it. Whatever it is that you’ve been holding off on pursuing. When I started I already owned things like a gaming laptop (that I bought to run photoshop so I could paint), an 8-year-old podcasting mic from a dropped podcast attempt, my game of choice, and I was already paying for the bare bones version of Premiere: Premiere Rush.
But heck, even if I had none of the fancy equipment, the only limiting factor would have been my computer’s processing power to run all these programs at once, and I would have figured it out.
I’m a perfectionist bound and determined to fix my audio, but I didn’t hear any complaints when it was jank, and I’m learning all this because the whole process, not just the gameplay, is just so fun and fascinating.

The tiefling bachelors troubleshooting a PC:
Inspired by my own computer woes. 🫠

Rolan: Proudly professes that he knows how to fix the issue, and he actually does know how to fix it! Except Windows is doing what it does best: frustrating the user.
For several hours he's been battling a problem that should've taken no more than 5 minutes to resolve.
No. He will not take it to a repair shop, damnit! He KNOWS how to fix this!
At some point you hear him yell "I NEED THE ADMINISTRATOR'S PERMISSION TO DELETE THIS FILE!? I AM THE FUCKING ADMINISTRATOR!!!"

My Kink is Karma twoCartMIS
Pearl really hates chest monsters. But not as much as she really likes redstone sorting systems.
Pearl x Mumbo, established relationship, based on Mumbo's sorting system from episode 33 and 34
This is NSFW. You've been warned.
"Is that all the items?" Mumbo's voice echoed up from the caves below his base.
"That the last of them. I'm coming in!" Pearl called back, ducking into the massive network of redstone and minecarts that made up Mumbo's new item sorting system.
"Head to your right and watch the water streams," he called as Pearl turned into the caves.
She could barely make out his voice over the clatter or dispensers and minecarts, but it sounded optimistic.
She was optimistic about this test. Each round of adding items to the system went smoother than the last, and the chaotic, barely contained excitement in Mumbo's voice as he left her for the last round of testing made her believe they really may have fixed all the issues this time.
"Did it work?" she asked as Mumbo suddenly emerged in front of her, running along the other side of the water stream as items floated by between them.
"Yes! I mean I think so!" Mumbo shouted, and the almost frantic glint in his eye as he smiled at her made her want to believe.
"I just have to check the chests upstairs but I think it worked! I think we did it!" his voice followed him as he clamored up the steps two at a time, and Pearl did her best to keep her eyes on the items in the water stream rather than watch him run.
If it worked....
Pearl tried to temper her expectations. It had been a long day of testing and there might still be issues. They might still have to test the system again and again. But it was getting harder and harder to stay focused as she watched Mumbo explain and tinker and problem solve and troubleshoot.
She liked watching him work and she wanted to learn more about redstone this season. That was why she offered to come help finish his new sorting system. But she hadn't realize quite how much she liked watching him work until she was here, watching him roll up his sleeves and adjust more hopper settings. Or maybe it was about the fact that it was a sorting system, finally organizing everything so elegantly and neatly into his base.
Either way, Pearl had been fidgeting with a growing crackle of electricity and want inside her for the past few hours. And she just knew that feeling wasn't going to resolve itself until Mumbo's system was up and running. It would stay there, slowly building and building under her skin until Mumbo finally said the system was ready.
She needed to know if this brilliant, crazy, elegant, cacophonous system worked.
And if it worked....then she wasn't sure she could be held accountable for her actions.
"It worked!" The jubilant shouts thundered down the stairs just moments before Mumbo himself did, turning the corner and beaming at Pearl with an ecstatic smile.
Turns out it didn't matter if it was a redstone thing or a organization thing or a Mumbo thing. What mattered was that Mumbo was striding towards her, looking perfectly disheveled and radiating the confidence and satisfaction of finally getting this vision exactly right.
Pearl didn't even let him say anything else before she crashed into him, grabbed him and pressing her lips to his before he could continue.
"Pearl?" Mumbo's voice nearly cracked as she pushed him back until his legs finally hit the glass blocks surrounding the water streams. But she was too busy loosening his tie and working on the top buttons of his shirt to bother answering. But once she got enough undone to finally kiss down the side of his neck, she quickly dropped her hands to start making much more important progress on undoing his belt.
"Pearl, what are you- oh!"
"I told you," she murmured right into his ear. "That I wouldn't fuck you in this base until all those abominable chest monsters were gone."
"Technically, I mean technically Pearl, they are still out there. We've just got the sorting system set up we still need to, you know, we need to get them all loaded, and, um..."
Pearl couldn't control her grin as she watched him struggle to form a coherent thought as she stroked him. She pulled back just enough to watch him squeeze his eyes shut and brace himself against the blocks as his knees faltered the slightest bit under her touch.
"If we'd unloaded all your stuff, I would have had a chance to grab a potion for some lube as it passed by," she said with a final kiss pressed against his jaw. "But I didn't get a chance to do that cause all that stuff is still in your chest monster."
"No complaints! I'm not complaining! Really!" came out of him in a rush and Pearl almost laughed at the eagerness. It had taken a minute for his brain to piece together what was happening, but his body had gotten the memo much faster given how hard he was in her hand.
"That would have been a lot of planning if you did that," Mumbo continued to mumble through with his eyes pressed shut until they shot open in shock.
"Wait how long have you been planning this?" he asked before a second round of confusion plastered across his face when he registered the Pearl was no longer curled against his neck.
Instead, she shot him a smile from where she was kneeling in front of him, fingers splayed across the front of his thighs ready to pull his pants out of the way enough to finally get her mouth on him.
"Pearl!" He practically squeaked out as he looked down at her in front of him, his blush painting his face so red that she could see it even amid the flickering torchlight and glowing redstone lines.
"But I think I can manage without the potion if you want-"
"Yes. Jesus Pearl, yes," he said with a gasp, running a hand over his face and up through his hair.
Before he could change his mind, she slid her fingers into his boxers and pulled him out. She used one hand to grip his hip as he stumbled again, knees nearly buckling and hips pushing forwards when she finally got her mouth on him.
Pearl wouldn't say she had historically loved giving blow jobs, but there was something about how reactive Mumbo was that drew her back to them time and time again with him. The way he gasped and moaned as she drew her tongue around him. The way he knotted his fingers through his hair when she took him fully in her mouth and how his hips stuttered against her when she added just a bit more suction. Whenever they did anything else, all the delightful noises he made got captured in kisses and muffled against her skin. All his constant movement got redirected into touches that teased and traced over her. But when she had him like this, there was nothing to stifle those sounds and reactions, and Pearl could get addicted to those kinds of unrestrained reactions.
Or maybe she already was addicted if she was on her knees in the grass behind a man-made cliff, trying to focus on the sound of his broken rambling over the sound of rushing water and clattering minecarts.
"Pearl. Oh my god- that feels- you feel- Pearl, soon I'm gonna-"
She looked up at him, taking in his heaving chest and completely disheveled hair. His tie was nowhere to be found. And when he finally looked down to lock eyes with her, she made a muffled humming noise as she took all of him in her mouth one last time. Between the affirmation and the vibration, it was enough to finally send him over the edge. So with a shout and a white knuckled grip on the edge of the block behind him, Mumbo finally came as Pearl quickly swallowed down the last of it.
She pulled back, tucking him back inside his trousers before taking a moment to catch her breath as Mumbo did the same above her.
When she finally stood, unsteady as the blood rushed back into her legs, Mumbo pulled her into him. This time he properly kissed her, his mouth hot against hers as his fingers threaded through her hair.
"Why are your fingers wet?" Pearl said with a half delirious giggle as drops of cool water trickled down her cheek.
"Someone decided to pin me against a water stream. And you know I'm not graceful. So when I tried to not fall over, my hand may have fallen in the water once. Or more than once. I was a little distracted."
"I would hope you'd be distracted," she said, feeling Mumbo's smile pressed against her own as he tipped forward to kiss her again.
And it was a lazy kisses that distracted Pearl, because she wasn't expecting to suddenly feel Mumbo dip and grab the back of her thighs, tipping the world upside down as he threw her over his shoulder.
"Mumbo!" she shouted squirming against his grip as they started moving through the storage area.
"Yes Pearl?" He asked, not even attempting to hide traces of a laugh.
"What are you doing?"
"Well I figure if you just liked my storage system you would have just said so. You don't normally go down on me because you think my build is good. Though if you wanted to, I wouldn't mind-"
"Mumbo!" She tried to sound offended, but between the truth in that comment and the ridiculousness of getting carried though his base like this, she couldn't quite keep the giddy giggle out of her voice.
"Right. But you decided to do a little more than tell me, and apparently you were thinking about this long enough to be looking for lube in my test chests," Mumbo explained as she felt them start to ascend one of the staircases leading back up to the rest of his base.
"So I figured," Mumbo continued as the daylight suddenly hit Pearl's eyes when they stepped into one of his base buildings. "That if you were thinking about it for that long, and you liked my build that much, then maybe you were a little more affected than you've let on."
Suddenly the world tipped again and Pearl felt herself tumbling into a bed in the hollow shell of Big Ron's building. Any response Pearl had was lost as Mumbo crawled over her, pressing her into the mattress and kissing her with even more intent that before.
She got the remainder of the buttons on his shirt undone and was working to push it off his shoulders before his lips slid down to her neck.
"I think that's a good theory. How about you test it?" she offered, her mouth finally free to respond even as she gasped and arched up against him.
The only response she got was a laugh, but she could feel it through his lips against her neck and the rumble of his chest against her fingers. And when his hand finally left her side to move to undo her shorts, Pearl knew Mumbo was about to find out exactly how right he was about her reaction to his builds.
#this came to me in a vision#i could not sleep until this was done#i have no excuses#drabbles#if y'all think this is any good I'd consider putting it on Ao3#mumpearl

Next Gen Fallout 4 Update (PC)
The one good thing is the mod community watched the Skyrim Fishing Update happen so we can kinda prep.
Problem: The next gen update could break your mods.
Solution: Avoid the update and use F4SE.
Go to Steam Library, hit the gear icon on the Fallout 4 page. Properties > Updates > "Only update this game when I launch it."
Ensure you are launching the game via F4SE.
Result: Steam will not download background updates of Fallout 4. F4SE does not boot the game with Steam, so you have successfully bypassed any issue/mod breaking caused by the update.
Why shouldn't I update? Sounds counterintuitive not to update, but mod authors are hobbyists and regular people like you and me; it will take time for authors to "catch up" and release updates.
When to update Fallout 4 on PC again: Up to you. Many people playing Skyrim SE still play on an older version to protect the mods they have, many mod authors have released newer versions of mods to catch up with the update.
New to modding, don't use Vortex/MO2/F4SE, but you are worried about your mods? Now's the time to install F4SE! I'm not affiliated with them, but I can attest The Midnight Ride's recommendations will give you a great basegame vanilla+ experience. If anything, it sets you up with utilities and fixes that you may not already know about.
Other things you can do, not necessary but useful: Update your current modlist! Take the time to ensure things are working. It is better to have things fixed up now and workable than having an updated game and a bunch of mods that suddenly no longer work. Look into using tools like CLAS and xEdit. These can help troubleshoot and resolve conflicts.

BitLocker Protection off: Update UEFI/BIOS to fix issues
When BitLocker Protection is “off” means that BitLocker encryption is currently disabled on the drive. In my case, it is disabled and the encryption did not succeeded in the first place. Therefore, we will limit our solution to this use-case. In this article, we shall discuss “BitLocker Protection off: Update UEFI/BIOS to fix issues”. Troubleshooting Common Air Cooler Problems in the Off-Season

Air coolers save the day throughout the summer by offering a cool breeze during the intense heat. But when the off-season hits, these reliable gadgets may have issues that don’t become apparent until the following intense season. In order to make sure they’re prepared for action when needed, let’s examine the top 10 suggestions for resolving typical air cooler concerns throughout the off-season.
Air Cooler Maintenance Tips! Top 10 Tips
Maintaining your air cooler during the off-season is crucial for its longevity and optimal performance. Here are the top 10 tips to keep your cooling unit in pristine condition:
Inspect and Clean Cooling Pads: Over time, cooling pads can accumulate dust and debris. Clean them thoroughly and replace them if necessary to ensure maximum cooling efficiency.
Check Water Levels Regularly: Ensure the water level in the tank is sufficient. Low water levels can strain the pump and reduce cooling effectiveness.
Clean or Replace Filters: Air filters trap dust and impurities. Clean or replace them regularly to maintain good air quality and prevent strain on the fan.
Examine the Water Pump: A malfunctioning water pump can lead to inadequate water circulation. Check for any signs of damage and replace if needed.
Inspect the Fan Blades: Dust and dirt can accumulate on fan blades, affecting their efficiency. Clean the blades to guarantee optimal airflow.
Verify the Belt Condition: If your air cooler has a belt-driven fan, check the belt for signs of wear and tear. Replace it if it appears damaged.
Clear Obstructions in Airflow: Ensure there are no obstructions around the air cooler, allowing unrestricted airflow. This simple step can significantly enhance cooling performance.
Inspect the Float Valve: If your cooler is equipped with a float valve, make sure it’s functioning correctly. A faulty float valve can lead to water overflow or insufficient water supply.
Clean the Water Distribution System: Sediments can accumulate in the water distribution system, hindering water flow. Regularly clean the system to prevent clogs.
Examine Electrical Components: Check all electrical connections and components for signs of damage. Replace any faulty parts to prevent electrical issues during operation.
In the realm of off-season air cooler concerns, proactive maintenance emerges as the linchpin. Undertaking repairs on cooling units and tackling prevalent issues before the onset of summer not only spares you from potential discomfort but also ensures the sustained excellence of your air cooler. Now, let’s delve into a more detailed exploration of various facets to guarantee that your common air cooler problems in the off-season and air cooler maintains its peak condition.

This is in response to an anonymous ask. Anon has been able to sense what we might call Oversoul or Big animals for a while, but since a significant magical awakening Anon has lost the clarity of their Sight.
Anon has advised that after trying connection techniques that used to work, this problem has not resolved.
---
Anon, I disagree with your hypothesis that this may be an active choice by your spirits, either to test you or to encourage you to do something.
When I went through my 'awakening' I encountered an intense shift in the kind of work I had been able to do, and I had to re-learn old skills I was already confident in. It's happened to me more than once. It blows.
This isn't because I was being tested, but rather because my circuitry was being converted from DC to AC and the 12 volt systems weren't compatible with my hardware any more.
I believe it's normal for practitioners to lose and have to re-learn or adapt around old skills. It sucks, but it happens. It would rarely be my first assumption that these things are spirits wanting distance, or putting us through shit tests, or something.
Here are my suggestions:
Tell them you do not like the distance and it's scary. Invite them back and ask them to stay close.
Put old techniques up on the shelf and try something completely new. Like if before you were attempting grounded visualization, this time try water scrying. Or, shapeshifting during astral travel.
Ask them to send clear, direct messages about how to resume old levels of clarity and contact.
Redirect your focus away from spirit working and towards psychism: perform experiments to see if there are any other changes to your Sensing and try to troubleshoot
Engage the help of an ally known to assist with matters of Sensing and clarity, perhaps including gods, plants, or mineral spirits; or smaller spirits (especially the Dead) who can give you information to improve your Sensing and solve this problem.
Redirect focus towards matters of magical hygiene; regular cleansing, unblocking, and ward maintenance can have material effects on Sensing.
Review all ongoing sorcery and ensure no wards, spells, or any projects could be impacting the ability of spirits to easily arrive to you.
Review many recent actions and ensure you have not accidentally caused offense or accidentally did something to send the spirits away; resolve offenses, known or unknown, through general offering rituals asking to bury the hatchet and resume a positive relationship
#in mundane life “relationship tests” are widely viewed as manipulative and toxic behavior#it's not unreasonable to apply these same standards to spirits#“ghosting” a practitioner or giving them the silent treatment is not fair behavior from a spirit#especially if an emotionally supportive relationship was established beforehand.#Communication can be imperfect and sometimes the spirits can't explain to us something is happening before it starts#for example if you're undergoing a magical “rewiring” and your old systems stop working correctly#leaving you stranded until you learn new techniques for your new systems.#But if you're worried that spirits might be playing “hard to get” or giving you a relationship test#you can tell them you don't abide by that behavior and ask them to be honest with you that they need distance or what their goal is.#But also you gotta clearly communicate your own needs.#Like there is no reason to assume they know your needs unless you've told them.

How do the txt boys react when you tell them you’re dealing with brain fog?
wow, this is a really specific ask?! i'm gonna do my best to do it justice (word count: 953)
I think terry would immediately launch into problem-solver mode. He's kinda like your own personal WebMD, asking you to elaborate on what symptoms you're experiencing and how long they've been persisting.
he would also begin troubleshooting your surroundings, examining everything you've eaten and drank recently, and asking again if you're sure they're not just seasonal allergies. he'd then check the washer and dryer for mold, look through the HVAC for dust or some other contaminant, and even briefly contemplate if you've somehow been poisoned by someone before deciding that's impossible. but... maybe you haven't been seeing all of your meals being prepared?
no, ok, he needs to rule out poison. that's a little too extreme. he'd definitely encourage you to drink more water, take vitamins, and get plenty of protein while trying to get to the bottom of the brain fog case.
If your symptoms didn't resolve within a few days under his care, he would definitely encourage you to see a doctor. if and when the reason for your brain fog comes out, he will feel proud to know it's definitely one of the many options he considered as a reason for your illness!
beomgyu would probably have to ask you to repeat yourself, as he's caught by surprise when you tell him this, and is a bit unfamiliar with the term. Even after repeating yourself, he's a bit confused. I think you've just given me brain fog by starting up this conversation... he'd say, before taking out his phone and searching up 'brain fog' for more context.
after reading up on the topic more and hearing about your specific symptoms, I think he would ask if you've been getting enough sleep and taking care of yourself. he would definitely encourage you to ensure you're not pushing yourself too hard, and to watch your symptoms closely! he'd probably encourage you to listen to some music and do your best to rest.
If your symptoms didn't improve after a few days of rest, he would definitely encourage you to talk to a doctor. he knows you're the type to downplay your symptoms, so he would encourage you to take your body's ailment seriously.
I think soobin would be very concerned, and say that he's experienced similar feelings himself, especially when they're working long hours and traveling during promotions.
he would offer you some advice and home remedies that had worked for him and the members in the past when they were feeling disoriented/tired/confused. he's definitely the type who would go to the pharmacy himself and leave everything he got right on your doorstep, not even expecting to be invited inside, but so excited when you ask if he wants to come and watch some anime together while he explains how to use all the supplements and remedies he brought over for you. he would definitely check in daily to see how you're feeling, and ask if you're getting enough to eat and to please let him know if you need anything.... and yes, he does mean anything. <3
he'd ultimately just let you know that he will be there for you through this, and that you're going to find answers together.
I think yeonjun would have a pretty similar reaction to soobin. he would tell you stories of times he himself had felt less than 100% energywise and focuswise, and what he did to feel better. he would definitely encourage you to rest and only eat the most nutritious foods, while also ensuring you're drinking enough water. he'd also definitely drop some pharmacy goods by your place :)
he'd offer to come over and spend time with you, just watching movies and relaxing. he would just encourage you to relax and not worry too much about the brain fog, as it is probably just something environmental or food-related that will stop impacting your body soon.
when he isn't with you, he'd send a lot of little check-in texts with a bunch of cute emojis and dumb jokes to make you feel a bit better.
If you still felt confused and groggy after a few days, texting and saying you're going to go to the doctor's office, he'd immediately call, saying he's coming to drive you to the doctor because you're in no state to be driving, and he'd be the worst boyfriend in the world if he didn't take you there himself!
I think kai would just want to make sure you're resting and taking the symptoms seriously. he would make sure you're not exerting yourself too badly, and would scour the web for information about brain fog, and where your symptoms may be coming from. he would just be so sad you're not feeling well, and would do everything he can to make sure you're taken care of.
unlike some of the other members, I think he would encourage you to go to urgent care sooner rather than later because it's best to find answers as soon as possible, and he doesn't want you to be suffering for no reason if solutions can be found quicker! he also just hates not knowing what is hurting you.
when urgent care is no help, he'd invite you to sleep over, in case the brain fog is being caused by some pollutant or mold in your home, and would ensure everything was nice and tidy for you when you come over.
he'd attentively listen as you explain your symptoms, and be so relieved when you start feeling better after a few days at his place! turns out it was some mold in your washer... yuck. sounds like the perfect excuse to spend more time with kai since you can't do laundry at yours right now⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡

UPDATE on: Pause on Drawing
Going insane about my new piece of expensive junk called my PC and its issues. I’ll have to go back to the shop this 12th February but also leaving at 13th. I will be pausing on drawing and get back as soon asni can with the commissions!
as for my laptop, I can still manage to use it but I was setting up some stuff to transfer over and its sort of on its last leg but I might have to resort to use it back since I’ve been troubleshooting this hunk of junk for days. I got busy with the troubleshooting & crying over it. I will deliver those commissions even if I have to go rabid at the pc shop lol!
Weve tried eliminating potential problems such as AMD drivers updates/rollback, PSU issues (via getting a UPS ARV), Windows 11 updates, and other troubleshooting ways to resolve the restarting issue but upon testing it still happens! So it’s quite a frustrating journey but I still hope I can resolve this issue soon.
Valorant has been our tester, while we know riot is a bit “invasive” to the system, we also tried other games and noticed it crashes for like 30min after gaming. Although it did also crash and restart even before Valorant. Theres something fishy with my GPU and I might need to get it changed, hopefully to a white one since I insisted for a white build.

So You Want to Play Dragon Age: Origins in 2024
I have recently gone through the semi-grueling ordeal of trying to get this almost fifteen year old game to work on my PC, and after writing up a list for my friend of all the mods I used to make it functional, I was informed that the tumblr population may have a use for this information as well! This game, while very Of Its Time (2009), is one of my favorites. It is full of great characters and has a lot of heart, and it is still important to the story and lore of Dragon Age overall. I think it's worth your time! So if you care about the story arc of this game series and have the opportunity to play this one (especially with Veilguard officially existing and theoretically coming out soon), I strongly recommend it.
HUGE DISCLAIMER: I am NOT an expert on modding and I will almost definitely not be able to help you troubleshoot anything if you run into any problems. This post is just compiling the information and links I collected while on my journey to get this game playable on my PC. Most, if not all, of these links come with access to forums where you can ask for help from people who will be able to provide it, and that is where I recommend you look for answers! This game is old enough that almost every problem that is possible to run into has been experienced by someone else, so it's very likely that reading through the forum posts will get you the info you need.
Level 0: I just want this old ass game to work on my modern computer. I do not wish to install any mods, I am just here for the story and I don’t care what the game looks like while I play it.
To avoid the game crashing pretty much constantly, particularly any time you’re in a location with a lot of NPCs (so, any town), you will need to change your graphics settings to Very Low. It will look like dogshit. Most eye colors will not be visible and armor will be weird and glossy and in general the world will look like it hasn’t finished loading. But it should work.
HOWEVER: you may still run into various game breaking bugs and other issues that can be resolved by a mod in the next section, so be aware of that.
ADDITIONALLY: When I first opened my game after installing it, it looked extra shitty because it was defaulting to 800x600 resolution for some reason. It does not seem to be great at detecting monitor settings without help. Go into the game's settings and make sure the resolution is set to whatever your monitor is. This might seem obvious, but I wanted to mention it just in case.
Level 1: I am willing to install two necessary mods because I want the game to both work and not look like dogshit.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO INSTALL: Large Address Aware + patch from this random Steam user. This is the thing that will tell your game to stop being so scared of the fact that it is no longer 2009 and it is installed on a computer with more than 2GB of RAM. For LAA to work with the Steam version of the game, it needed extra fiddling, so this very nice person pre-patched it and uploaded it with instructions on how to install it in this post: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=233222451
If you do not have the game through Steam, you can get LAA and install instructions here: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/
Ultimate DAO Fixpack This fixes a bunch of random bugs and issues, of which there are many. I don’t even know what they are, because I installed this before I started playing and therefore have not encountered any of them. It's like a vaccine for your game. It's on Nexus, like most of the rest of these are, so you will need to make an account there to download it. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4689
Level 2: I am willing to install a few additional mods to improve the experience of playing the game.
Before I link any more of the mods, here is some very basic mod-related guidance that may be helpful to someone who is a complete beginner to modding this game:
Most of the following mods you will need to “install” in the override folder yourself (i.e. just copy them over to it); in my experience, the Nexus Vortex mod manager thing does not work 99% of the time with this game, so don't bother with it. I made a DAO Mods folder on my computer to keep the zip files in, then I unzipped them to the override folder here: Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override
If any of the mods say “install using DAUpdater” (the fixpack does, for example), that is an application you can find in the game's installation files, wherever you have those. (Steam users can easily get to these by right clicking the game in your Steam library and going to “manage > browse local files.”) It will be in the “bin_ship” folder. You should only have to associate the DAZIP file type with this application once--afterwards, you can just double click the mod file and it will open in DAUpdater.
If any of the mods say “Install using DAO Mod Manager,” that is here: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/277
The most important thing is to read the mod developer's instructions on how to install it. Don't assume everything will work the way other mods do. If you install it wrong, the mod will not work and could even cause weird or alarming side effects. Just trust me.
I strongly recommend these:
Mouse Cursors for 4K DAO This will give you options to make the cursor bigger. This is a good one just in general for accessibility reasons. The default one was tiny on my monitor and I kept losing sight of where it was, especially during combat. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5167 Install location is in your game installation files under packages\Core\data\cursors - pick the size cursor you want and overwrite the original folder (and keep a copy of the original somewhere)
UI Mod - Readable Fonts and UI Basically just makes everything bigger for higher res monitors (and for general accessibility) so you don’t have to squint at microscopic text on your screen. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/73
Level 3: I am willing to install even more mods if it will make the game look better.
There are a lot of these on Nexus to choose from, and not all of them are compatible with each other (which is important to remember and look into if you start installing a ton of mods). These are the ones I like that also play nice with each other:
Unique Face Textures for Companions This mod preserves what the companions/important characters look like but improves their skin textures and makes their eyes clearer. Make sure you also copy the textures folder into the override folder along with the Companion Morphs folder, I forgot to do this at first and it made Alistair look very shiny and blurry. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4666
Dragon Age Redesigned This is a huge mod full of graphic improvements to like every NPC. This mod comes with a pdf of instructions on how to install everything and is pretty easy to navigate. There are also versions of most of the companions as well, if you prefer this version of what they look like. (Some of those will require extra mods to install--the pdf will tell you what you need.) https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/686
Also potentially required for this one, depending on which version you pick: https://www.moddb.com/mods/tmp7704/downloads/tucked-hair
Level 4: I want cuter hair and armor choices for my character.
Another thing there are countless mods for, and if you’re getting this into it, I recommend going through Nexus and perusing on your own. These are the ones I was able to get to work on my computer with the other mods in this list installed:
Jenya’s Random Hairstyles: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4795

Level 5: That is all fine but the game is still unplayable until I can bring my dog everywhere with me without sacrificing a companion slot.
You are right, which is why this is actually the most important mod on this list.
Extra Dog Slot This lets you add your Mabari as a summon. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/664
Final notes: This is NOT in any way a conclusive list of DAO mods, there are obviously so many for this game and if you want to do more than this, knock yourself out! I just wanted to post this as a starter pack for these types of people:
1. Brand new player who just bought it on Steam for $2 or whatever it was and wants to play but is intimidated by the idea of modding it 2. Returning players who haven't played in forever/on a PC and want a place to start with mods that will get the game to work 3. Really anyone who wanted to play/replay this but when they started up a new game, it just started crashing over and over and it was making them really mad and annoyed so they gave up because they didn't know how to fix it
I have been every player on this list at one point or another and a post like this would have been really helpful to me.
Now go out there and have fun defeating the Archdemon, fellow Wardens 🫡
#dragon age origins#dragon age origins mods#i am very serious about not being able to help troubleshoot any of this#i am not trying to be mean--i am just dumb#this is all just what worked for me!
