4t3 Conversion: Shearling Aviator Jacket

I converted the Archie Jacket by Arethabee. (You don't know how long it took me to hunt down a plain version of the aviator jacket that came with the Strangerville pack.)

2 versions: one with the base game t-shirt inside, one with Shokoninio's turtleneck sweater inside

jacket has 9 of Arethabee's swatches

t-shirt and turtleneck sweater are recolourable, jacket is not

low poly count: each version is about 4k poly

I also found Cement's Sherpa Turtleneck Jacket and I liked the jacket swatches, so I converted those textures too (15 swatches).

All the packages inside the zip are standalone files. You can pick and choose which ones you want. Click on the links to see the original TS4 items and swatches.

Textures are a bit blurry because I had to scale down the original textures when converting to TS3, hope you won't mind it too much.

Adele's Ramsay Living for TS3

2 years ago, on a fateful evening, I decided to convert this set to TS3. Although this had already been converted, I had my reasons to do my own conversion. Long story short, there were things that I didn't like and things that I liked.

One thing that I liked in the previous conversion was the effort to make the table tops glass. So I experimented with the Basic Shower which is supposed to have frosted glass. I don't know why EA use horrible textures; when you replace the NormalMap with a proper frosted glass texture it looks amazing.

So, using this knowledge as a base, I worked on the frosted glass table tops and after countless failures, I finally managed to have the effect I wanted. The key is having the right values for UVSelector parameters in the shader.

I also changed the textures for the bottle; tried to recreate it as a multiplier. Then made another version. Bottles are semi-transparent glass and recolourable. Don't ask me how I made them - I don't remember. But I if have to guess, there is this tutorial that I know of. The first part is about recolourable glass.

I wasn't feeling Adele's art for the painting. So, I used the recolours made by @timeparadoxsims. The artist is @len-yan and the art is amazing. If any of them want me to remove the painting from my downloads, I will do so but cry inwardly. 😢

I know people hate reading and just want to download but THIS IS IMPORTANT: Several items share textures. So you need to have the 'masters' in your game for the 'slaves' to work. I will group them and explain further.

The Loveseat is the master for the following objects: Armchair, Sofa, End Table (Solid Top), Coffee Table (Solid Top).

A bit late to post because of my schedule preparing & celebrating Chinese New Year in real life and fixing the shadow for each item that made me have to re-create the CC several times until it got correct. Finally it's done and satisfied that I managed to create so many CC for this short time within 2 weeks, wow. These are my meshes, except the doors are by EA and they are functional.

Day eight: A random object recolour/mesh edit dump!

First up is a mesh edit of this wheelchair ramp by beosboxboy. I really liked the concept of this, but originally it had a huge “wheelchair access” sign standing off to the side, which made it difficult to place and, ironically, less accessible. So I got rid of it in Milkshape.

Then, as it had always bugged me that it didn’t align properly with foundations even though it so easily could... I learned how to tweak that, too.

If you have the original by beosboxboy you’ll have to delete it to use this one. You can find it in Deco > Sculptures for §2,500.

Next up - I always loved this tarpaulin/canvas “rug” converted from TS3 by Misty-fluff, especially for placing under yard sale items. Unfortunately, it was a bit too high off the ground, and it clipped really noticeably with any objects on top of it. So again, I lowered it a tiny bit, and figured I’d share.

The recolours are NOT included - you can get them over at misty-fluff’s original download post. Let my file override hers.

Now onto the Maxis object recolours!

Here are some first-aid kit recolours for the non-reflective medicine cabinet that came with Apartment Life (original in the bottom right for comparison) and one “hazardous materials” recolour I thought would work well for medical labs or hospitals.

You’ve got the typical red cross, and then - if you would like your game to comply with the Geneva convention - a green cross, then a white cross on a blue background taken from the hospital in The Sims 3. Finally you have a few made using the TS2 icon for the Medicine career, the white-on-red version of which turned out to be my favourite overall, surprisingly.

These are extremely simple recolours of the H&M wall banner (original on the left) to use as a green (or blue) screen for your aspiring influencer/gamer/streamer Sims.

And finally - some practical, everyday recolours of the “Mystic Dust” craftable reagent from Apartment Life (last swatch), because normal people own mortars and pestles too. You get black stone, a coppery sort of thing, grey and brown granite, cherry wood, marble, green stone, white porcelain, and then five cute retro colours.

They’re all grinding the same thing - probably sesame seeds.

You don’t need any mesh, but remember that you’ll need a buyable reagents mod to get it from the catalogue if you don’t want to have a witch craft one.

I LOVE giving my sims moles/beauty marks, and my go to ones are always, without a doubt, solacedo's beauty marks cc. im not joking when i say i think that every sim i make nowadays has them asdfghjhgfd. AND!! AND!!!!! her tattoos and makeup creations are SO good too!!! i love super maxis-matchy CC, and solacedo's tattoos are essential for me!

and of course i have to mention powluna! listen, there's so many amazing cas creators out there, but i gotta say, items for child sims are soooooooooo hard to come by. Which is why powluna's creations are an ESSENTIAL part of my mods folder. Such super cute meshes and creations, with adorable swatches - for both kids and toddlers! and like, for EVERY situation too - be it pyjamas, halloween costumes, formal wear, cozy autumnal clothes, summer dresses, cute shoes, fun every daywear....powluna has truly made it all!

ANYWAY this was my little splurge for some of my fave cas creators adfghjhgfd. this is by no means an exhaustive list, i could list like six gazillion different creators, but i really wanted to highlight some that i think deserve more love for their wonderful work!

TS4-TS3 Conversions: Lin-Z Smart Speaker + Meduso Collectables Both of these items are a few things I wanted in my game personally. Void Critters are some of my favourite items in TS4, along with anything relating to pirates. XD *waves a large Jolly Roger* The Lin-Z Smart Speaker is a stereo (( unless I or someone else can mod it as a smart speaker )) and comes with eight swatches/is non-recolourable. There are eight Meduso figurines which have only one swatch and are also non-recolourable: Normal, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Holiday-themed (( Christmas or Ugly Sweater Party )), Easter, St. Patrick's Day (( YAYYY )), Valentine's Day, and Robotic. @clouseplayssims tagged me. I only play TS2 (never played TS1, only briefly played TS3 and only played TS4 for about 5 mins), so all answers pertain to TS2!

What’s your favorite Sims death?

Death by Old age. I live my Sims to live a long and fulfilled life. But, playing medieval, my more common deaths are 'death by childbirth' (mod), 'death by starvation', and 'death by fire'!

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

In my medieval game, I use alpha CC. All Maxis items are hidden, so my game is pretty much 100% CC.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

No. My sims start off either 'average' or 'overweight', and how they change is up to them in game. (Can weight even be cheated in TS2?)

Do you move objects?

All the time!

Favorite Mod?

So many! But my absolute faves are the @sunmoon-starfactory suite of sets. They add so much to historical game play, and I would never be happy playing without them!

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

I purchased TS2 discs going back to 2006.... I can't even remember the first EP/SP I purchased. I do remember hanging out for the release of Seasons though, and rushing to the shop to buy it after uni classes finished for the day!

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

Live like aLIVE. However, the arguments for live like LIVing are pretty persuasive. You build in build move, and live in live mode!

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

I love the Sims I'm making for my Elder Scrolls 'hood. Current fave would have to be Wylandriah, a Bosmer elder!

Have you made a simself?

Never. I'm still on the fence about that one. I do find it a little weird putting other Simselves in my game.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

Red. I'm partial to gingers IRL. I do use Pooklet colours though, and my fave Pooklet reds are Explosive & Pyrotechnic.

Favorite EA hair?

None of them?! They are all hidden in my game and I use CC.

Favorite life stage?

I am really partial to toddlers and children.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Both! I love neighborhood decorating, building lots, worldbuilding, and playing. Currently still rebuilding my DL folder, and can't wait to get back to building and then playing my Elder Scrolls neighborhood!

Are you a CC creator?

Not at all. I have done a few basic recolours, and I can edit objects very primitively in SimPE. I would love to learn, but lack the time and patience!

Not really. There are quite a few Simmers I chat to, either via email, Tumblr DM's or Discords.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I started with a mish-mash of CC I found on the exchange. Then, started on LJ and fell in with An_nas and Penny Sims, and became very Maxis Match. Then, drifted toward grunge (I miss my grungified Baskerville, it was spectacular!). Then, I took a few years away from Simming and came back fully committed to historical gameplay. My Elder Scrolls 'hood is my 'anything goes' hood, with supernaturals. I also plan an Anglo-Saxon 'hood set in the 800's, and an Anglo-Norman 'hood set in the 1300's. They will both be more 'historically accurate' within the confines of the game.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

@sunmoon-starfactory, followed by Almighty Hat. there are so many others I love though!

How long have you had Simblr?

My first post was on 26th October 2015!

How do you edit your pictures?

I use Photoshop... Crop, unsharp mask, add border, occasionally add lens flare. I might use a filter if I can find one I like.

4t3 Simtimates Kit Boxer Shorts

I extracted the textures from the TS4 kit’s boxer shorts and adapted them to fit on a modified mesh of TS3′s base game boxer shorts. It’s kind of a conversion?

Anyway, these look so silky and comfortable.

I give you: Liberated toys and clutter! these are taken all from TS3 bookshelves, deco shelves, sandboxes, etc. I've also removed the comic collectable from it's box, and converted the fire truck from ambitions.

Victorian era toys from Veranka's tiny tot toy shelf, these are repositoried to the shelf, which I've included in the folder. (these are the only things in this post that are repo'd to anything.)

And some miscellaneous clutter, including a display of chocolate bars and some alchemy clutter.

Hello! Do you know if your wheelchair ramp and first aid kits for the wall have been converted to S3? We have literally nothing in the way of disability and it’s frustrating af, I’ve gotten permission to have an S2 everyday/self-propelled wheelchair converted to actually be able to represent myself somewhat but CFE is just not working to make myself a ramp :/ If they haven’t been converted would you be okay with me doing it privately just for myself? I don’t even really keep a simblr going, I’d just like it for my own game. (Ofc it CAN be released if you prefer, I’m just saying I won’t unless you specifically want to.) Thanks!

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear about the state of disability/assistive device CC for TS3, but not surprised. I don't know if either of those have already been converted but if you would like to do so then PLEASE by all means go ahead!

For credit, I'm not the original creator of either of those items. The first aid kits are actually just recolours of an EAxis object from Apartment Life (the non-reflective medicine cabinet), which you might find someone has already converted; the ramp was originally made by BeosBoxBoy, I just squashed it and removed part of the mesh. You can absolutely convert my edit since it's not my mesh in the first place, just be sure to credit BeosBoxBoy first and foremost.
