Judaism in The Sims

Imagine owning a game for nearly 10 years, spending almost 1200 dollars on it, and THIS is all the representation you have in it. This is not even about religion. Judaism is an ethnicity, a culture, that is just as valid as being black, white, asian, latino, native, or arab (which also have like ZERO representation in this game. maybe a hijab and like 2 recipes). There are 16 million jews in the world. More than 420 million arabs, and nearly 2 BILLION muslims. The fact that this is all we have is appalling.

P.S. I get that you were going for Hanukkah gelt, but... money imagery? REALLY? You wanna go THERE?? Packs used: Base Game, Seasons, and Holiday Celebration.

Do your little Jewish sim boys need itchy cardigans to be shoved into for holiday events? Then these are for you!

I thought it sad that the Seasons cardigan had Christmas Tree cardigans but nothing for Hanukkah or Rosh Hashanah, so I decided to try my hand at a few extra swatches. Although the Star of David and Menorah cardigans repeat the pattern all the way around, the Apples and Honey cardigan reads "שנה טובה."

Spin A Little Dreidel Poses

A pose pack featuring Sims playing dreidel. It has 8 group poses and comes with a dreidel accessory. Each Sim gets to spin and react to the dreidel landing. Download + more info under the cut.

Credits: The dreidel was converted to an accessory from @pandorasimbox’s Judaism Stuff Pack. You do not need to download their CC for the accessory to show up and work in game, but I would recommend it because it’s a great set of CC. Shoutout to them and their TOU for allowing me to convert it to an accessory!

Set Up: Place all teleporters in the center of the table. Sim A is the only one that needs to have the dreidel accessory (which can be found in the ring category). It’s a stigmata accessory which will enable the dreidel to move freely around the table as needed.

new simblr

Hi I just created this new simblr and i thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Sarah, I'm 22 years old and I'm Jewish and a lesbian. I'm not new to sims nor tumblr but I've never posted my own sims related content before. I'll be posting gameplays and probably lookbooks as well. I'm going to try to be wcif friendly but I can't promise my disorganized forgetful adhd ass will be able to answer but I will try to. If you can't tell from my username, Im a massive fan of the show legends of tomorrow. I might post about it some, but I want to keep this blog mostly for sims. I'll also post non sims sapphic / lesbian content sometimes as well. Everything that is not sims related will be tagged as such.

I decided to do that frog challenge in the Sims and the randomly generated sim had a tichel on so I decided to keep it and make her clothes match bc why not. JudiSIM ya know?

But then someone invited her to the romance festival and there was a little task to kiss someone and Father Winter (Sim Santa Claus) was there and I was like “oh hell yes baby Claus time” so I did the romance thing, completely forgetting the Sim was Jewish. So now now she’s dating Mr. Claus, who she probably doesn’t believe in?

And then I had her adopt the ugliest little cat. It’s organge and cross eyed and always looks Angry and I adore her

It seems kinda illegal to say what I'm ab to say, but I don't rly interact w/post ab black people bc I'm not black, I don't interact with posts ab jews or jewish things bc im not jewish, sometimes I feel guilty when I play ts4 and every sim I create is white, but then I also feel guilty when I make a black sim bc im wondering if its appropriation to play a black sim when im white, I don't interact w/posts ab palestine bc Im a minor and british, wtf am I supposed to do ab it? And then I feel guilty ab not posing ab palestine and THEN I feel guilty for feeling guilty and then I realize this is such a white upper a middle-class problem and then I feel guilty for that aswell.
