ok random nut honest question does swanatello feel safer when he's like in a bathtub full of water than when he's just in the lair and follow up does he sit on top of other water sources (like if they brought a pool to the lake would he sink into it or can he still stand on top if it's close enough)

Ooh, this is an interesting question,,,

I don't think he would necessarily feel safer, but he would probably enjoy getting to soak in a bathtub or a kiddie pool or something. Unfortunately, due to his injuries, this wasn't really super possible during his latest visit.

I think Swanatello is capable of walking on/sitting on other water sources, but it's not as natural and requires more effort. At the lake, he doesn't even need to think about walking on the water-- it's completely seamless. To walk on a different source of water, he would have to be actively trying to do so. He can do it, it would just be a lot harder than walking on his water, and he'd probably avoid doing so and be more inclined to swim instead.

Oh no that phone drama has a love triangle?! Does the FL flirt with the other guy? in dramas and shows I've seen that FL loves the ML but she spends a lot of time with the second lead and kind of flirts with him but if it was the other way around ML would get non stop hate lmao

okay SO it's kind of messy sorry if i dont explain this well but its more of a love square i would say! so prae is sent back in time and she thinks she has to help kla find love to return back to the present, and kla loves tubtim but hes a slave so because of that he's not a suitable match for her and instead shes supposed to marry aek and it's through prae helping kla try and fight for tubtim that she realises she loves him! there is another guy who is introduced a little later in the drama who i wouldnt really say she flirts with but seeing her getting close to another guy helps kla realise he actually likes her too! i would say it's hard to hate either character in this show though they're both very funny and lovable <3

Man Suang Character List

So, one of the challenges with Man Suang is... who's who?

On my second watch, I slowed down and captured names. Following is a list of named characters with brief summaries, as well as notes about their interpersonal relationships.

*** MAJOR SPOILERS ahead, as well as mentions of violence ***

I've divided these into three groups, and each group is in alphabetical order. I also attempted to include titles/labels that were used for the characters.

MAIN CAST

Chatra: (Called Khun Luang by Khem at the end of the film.) Was supposedly at Man Suang looking for his family’s treasure map. However, he was actually investigating the imported weapons and his father’s involvement in the weapons deal. He began a spying partnership with Khem. He told Khem he was from Songkhla.

Hong (Young Master/Master): Younger Master of Man Suang. He faked his own death to avoid being assassinated by Tiang. Son of Cheng.

Khem: Dancer. Friends with Wan. Forced by circumstances to become a spy and dancer at Man Suang. Was raised by monks. He’s from Paet Riu.

Wan: (Deceased) Dancer. Friends with Khem. Forced by circumstances to become a spy and dancer at Man Suang. Experienced PTSD related to the death of his sister, Waen. Wan was killed by Khem to prevent him from burning down Man Suang.

MAJOR POLITICAL PLAYERS

Phraya Bodisorn: Gave Khem and Chat the mission to find the secret documents to prove Wichiendej and Cheng were trafficking weapons for rebellion. Also is dealing arms with Europe himself. Uncle to Muen Kijraksa.

Tiang: (Deceased) Son of Cheng’s friend/business partner and sworn brother. He referred to Cheng as Uncle. Served Wichiendej. Plotted to kill Hong. Took over Man Suang after Hong faked his death. Killed Cheng. Was killed by Hong for murdering Hong’s father Cheng.

Suthinborirak (Khun): (Deceased) (Shortened name “Khun Suthin” was also used.) Registrar for the Harbor Department. He was a broker negotiating for arms dealers. Was referred to as “European dealers’ henchmen.” Turned up dead outside of Man Suang. Father to Chatra.

Wichiendej (Phraya): (Shortened name “Wichien” was also used.) Lord/leader of the Harbor Department. Supposedly working with Cheng to traffic weapons from Europe.

MINOR CAST

Cheng: (Deceased) Owner of Man Suang. Stored weapons for Wichiendej but did not want to take part in planning war/rebellion. Built Man Suang to be a paradise. Was in the process of returning the weapons to Wichien. Assassinated by Tiang.

Erb (Aunt): Saw Khun Suthin the night he died and claimed he spoke with a tall person.

Jaeng: Escorted Khem and Wan into Man Suang and reminded them of their mission.

Joo (Aunt): One of the aunties at Man Suang. Got bitten by the parrot when feeding it.

Jun: Harassed a female prostitute and got scolded by Hong and his master, Phraya Wichiendej.

Muen Kijraksa: (Deceased) Assassinated while in the midst of a private tryst with Khem. Nephew to Phraya Bodisorn.

Phikul (Madam): Man Suang dance troupe leader/instructor.

Phit (Aunt): Saw Khun Suthin the night he died and claimed he bent down and talked with a child.

Ruang: Chatra’s cat, later given to Khem.

Thiang: (Note: Not to be confused with Tiang.) Member of Man Suang. Picked fights with Khem.

Thongmak (Uncle): An older member of Man Suang. Married to one of the aunties of Man Suang. Saw Khun Suthinborirak the night he died by looking in the reflection of a halberd.

Tua Hia: (Not a person.) A gang association of Chinese members.

Tubtim: Head/lead prostitute at Man Suang. Inherited wealth from her late husband. Was sold to Khun Phra as a mistress. (It's unclear whether Khun Phra was the same aforementioned husband.)

Waen: (Deceased) Was Wan’s sister. Was raped and killed, allegedly by Chinese immigrants.

Yuean (Aunt): One of the aunties of Man Suang. Claimed she saw a ghost wearing a red breast cloth who spoke with Khun Suthinborirak.

On the 1st of August, Mile (and some other actors) were in the studio to edit some of the characters’ voices !

Aug 5 update:

New characters unveiled

On the left: 'Mae Tubtim' - played by Nonthakorn Chalermnai - is Man Suang's madam of female and male prostitutes. Many years ago, she was sold by a previous brothel to become the wife of an elderly noble. When her husband died, she inherited quite a lot of property. But she chose to live in Man Suang, where she felt safe and not looked down upon.

On the right: 'Mae Kru Phikun' - played by Ornanong Panyawong - serves as a trainer for a males court dance drama in ManSuang. She was a former dancer in the royal court during the previous reign. Her goal is to carry on the traditional performing arts. She earns admiration and respect even from Chao Sua Cheng.

On the left: 'Phraya Bodisorn' - played by Pradit Prasartthong - is a grand nobleman from the royal court. He is descended from a wealthy and powerful family, blessed with abundant influence, prestige, and an extensive network of connections. He is an unwavering conservative who is adamant that his beliefs are the epitome of correctness.

On the right: 'Phraya Wichiendej' - played by Gandhi Wasuvitchayagit - is from a new generation of Royal Navy aristocrats, smart, sharp-witted, and cunning. He employs these abilities to carve out his place in society and assert his influence.

On the left: 'Chao Sua Cheng' - played by Chartchai Ketnust - is an Overseas Chinese who owns ManSuang. He is ambitious, foresighted, and is welcome to explore new things. Despite his strong determination, he possesses a compassionate nature and holds his friends dear.

In the middle: 'Khun Sutin Borirak' - played by Sonny Chatwiriyachai - is a civil servant of mixed Chinese heritage who prefers to serve in the government rather than pursue business endeavors. He tries to prove himself to both his family and his wife.

On the right: 'Tiang' - played by Saifah​ Tanthana​ - is the trusted right-hand of Chao Sua Cheng. The only son of a sworn brother who once jointly operated a liquor business. When Tiang's father passed away, Cheng embraced him like an adopted child and placed immense trust in him, allowing him to assist in managing all affairs.

'Hong' - played by Tong Thanayut Thakoonauttaya - is the only heir of Cheng, the influential ruler of ManSuang. Therefore, whether willingly or unwillingly, it is his job to inherit the father's deeds and authority.

'Wan' - played by Bas Asavapatr Ponpiboon - is an orphaned commoner from a rural province like Khem. He’s trustworthy, kind, and a cherished friend to Khem. He sees Khem as his only family and places immense trust in him. He sincerely admires everything Khem does, including dancing, despite his own limited abilities in comparison.

Mae Tubtim

Chao Mae Tubtim is a female fertility spirit, believed to be a pre-Buddhist Southeast Asian tree spirit.

Women leave offerings of jasmine and lotus to the spirit when they want to conceive.

She seems likely to be the inspiration behind the name of Man Suang's brothel madam.

Especially since she is associated with a shrine that is frequently referred to as "the penis shrine," due to the incredible number of phallic symbols left there as offerings and Man Suang's Mae Tubtim provides boys and girls for rich people's pleasure.

This shrine was built a little after the time Man Suang was set in but not by that much and it still exists today!

Given the historical connection to India, I would assume that the use of phallic imagery likely has its roots somewhere in the worship of the Hindu god Shiva as his symbol is the lingam.

Tubtim apparently means Pomegranate in Thai and is a symbol of prosperity and abundance.

It is also frequently associated with female sexuality and is associated with several goddesses including Persephone the Greek Goddess of the Underworld. In her story, pomegranate is the symbol of temptation that proves impossible to resist.

I still think they picked her name because of the penis shrine though 😆
